| 2 | Pyrosequencing Reveals Significant Changes in Microbial Communities Along the Ecological Succession of Biological Soil Crustsin the Tengger Desert of China显示文摘Biological soil crusts(BSCs)have important ecological functions in arid and semiarid lands,but they remain poorly understood in terms of the changes in microbial communities during BSC succession under in situ field conditions.Here,454 pyrosequencing was used to assess the microbial community composition of four BSC types in the Tengger Desert of China:alga,lichen(cyanolichen and green alga-lichen),and moss crusts,representing early,middle,and final successional stages of BSCs,respectively.The results showed the highest diversity of microbial communities inhabiting lichen crusts,whereas the lowest diversity was observed in moss crusts.Five phyla,Proteobacteria,Actinobacteria,Cyanobacteria,Bacteroidetes,and Acidobacteria,accounted for about 72% to 87%of total prokaryotic sequences in different BSCs.The most abundant eukaryotic microorganism was Ascomycota,accounting for 47%to 93%of the total eukaryotic sequences.Along the succession of BSCs,the abundance of photoautotrophic Cyanobacteria,Chlorophyta,and Bacillariophyta declined,and that of heterotrophic microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi increased.Statistical analysis showed clear divergency of microbial taxa at the class level among the different successional stages of BSCs.The clustering results at class level showed that the moss crusts were the farthest from the rest in prokaryotic composition;the alga crusts were the most different in terms of eukaryotic microorganisms and the two kinds of lichen crusts were relatively closer in both compositions.Ordination analysis showed that the main variations of community structure among BSCs could be explained best by the abundance of Cyanobacteria and Ascomycota and by physiochemical properties of BSCs,including mechanical composition,moisture,and electrical conductivity.In conclusion,our results indicate that Cyanobacteria and Ascomycota likely play an important role in the evolution of BSC structure and functions and highlight the importance of environmental factors in shaping microbial community structures of BSCs in the Tengger Desert of China. | ZHANG Qingyi WANG Qiong OUYANG Hailong LAN Shubin HU Chunxiang | 2018 | Pedosphere2018,28,2: | 9 |

| 4 | Green synthesis of fluorescent carbon quantum dots and carbon spheres from pericarp显示文摘An economical idea was developed to synthesize fluorescent carbon quantum dots(CQDs) directly from the refluxing extraction of orange pericarp via a hydrothermal technique. Hydrothermal temperatures and times were adjusted to control the particle sizes and the quantum yields of the obtained CQDs. The as-prepared carbon quantum dots showed narrow particle size distribution, good water solubility, and acceptable fluorescence lifetimes. Due to their high stability, these obtained carbon quantum dots have great application potential in nano-biotechnology. | 5 | Key technologies and engineering practices for soft-rock protective seam mining显示文摘Severe gas disasters in deep mining areas are increasing,and traditional protective coal seam mining is facing significant challenges.This paper proposes an innovative technology using soft rock as the protective seam in the absence of an appropriate coal seam.Based on the geological engineering conditions of the new horizontal first mining area of Luling Coal Mine in Huaibei,China,the impacts of different mining parameters of the soft-rock protective seam on the pressure-relief effect of the protected coal seam were analyzed through numerical simulation.The unit stress of the protected coal seam,which was less than half of the primary rock stress,was used as the mining stress pressure-relief index.The optimized interlayer space was found to be 59 m for the first soft-rock working face,with a 2 m mining thickness and 105 m face length.The physicochemical characteristics of the orebody were analyzed,and a device selection framework for the soft-rock protective seam was developed.Optimal equipment for the working face was selected,including the fully-mechanized hydraulic support and coal cutter.A production technology that combined fully-mechanized and blasting-assisted soft-rock mining was developed.Engineering practices demonstrated that normal circulation operation can be achieved on the working face of the soft-rock protective seam,with an average advancement rate of 1.64 m/d.The maximum residual gas pressure and content,which were measured at the cut hole position of the protected coal seams(Nos.8 and 9),decreased to 0.35 MPa and 4.87 m^3/t,respectively.The results suggested that soft-rock protective seam mining can produce a significant gas-control effect. | Xiang Cheng Guangming Zhao Yingming Li Xiangrui Meng Qingyi Tu | 2020 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6: | 7 |

The nitrogen-treated TiO_2 nanotube shows a high carrier concentration rate, thus resulting in a high efficient charge transportation and low electron–hole recombination in the TiO_2–BiVO_4. Therefore, the BiVO_4/TiO_2(N_2) NTs photoanode enabled with a significantly enhanced photocurrent of 2.73 mA cm^(-2)(at 1 V vs. Ag/Ag Cl) and a degradation efficiency in the oxidation of dyes under visible light. | 9 | Tribological properties of CrN coating deposited on 20CrMo against tin bronze显示文摘A CrN coating was deposited on the piston pin material 20CrMo. The tribological properties of 20CrMo and CrN coating against tin bronze QSn7-0.2 were compared by pin-on-disk tests under dry friction and oil lubrication, respectively. The cross-sectional morphologies and structures of the coating were characterized through scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The hardness, elastic modulus, and adhesion strength of the coating were tested through nano-hardness and scratch tests. The wear tracks were tested with an optical profilometer, and wear volume was calculated. Under dry friction conditions, the CrN coating exhibited a significantly stable friction coefficient and a relatively lower wear rate against QSn7-0.2 at various temperatures compared with 20CrMo. The wear rate decreased by 98.5% at 700°C. Under poly-alpha-olefine lubrication, the CrN coating reduced the load effect on the friction coefficient. Under engine oil 5 W40 lubrication, the CrN coating improved the tribological properties under high speed and heavy load conditions. | 10 | Experimental study on applicability of using time-domain reflectometry to detect NAPLs contaminated sands显示文摘Underground contamination by non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPLs) becomes increasingly serious. Rapid and reliable detection of contaminated zone and degree is the first step to site remediation. In this paper, diesel and fine sand are used as experiment materials to investigate the applicability of using time-domain reflectometry (TDR) to detect LNAPLs contamination. The major work includes: measurement of dielectric constant and electrical conductivity for the diesel-water-air-sand mixtures; measurement of reflection waveform and dielectric constant for specimens with a diesel contaminated layer being sandwiched in sand. The experimental results show the followings: A significant decrease in both dielectric constant and electrical conductivity is observed for the diesel-water-air-sand mixtures when diesel displaces the pore water, and the content of diesel can be calculated by the model; insignificant change in dielectric properties is measured when diesel only displaces the pore gas; when the diesel contaminated sand is sandwiched between two saturated sand layers, the interfaces of the diesel contaminated layer can be identified by analyzing the reflection waveform; for field application, TDR method is valid for the case that LNAPLs seep into saturated sand layer, and the applicability of TDR method in vadose zone depends on the initial saturation of the sand layer. | 12 | Cloning and characterization of a FLORICAULA/LEAFY ortholog, PFL, in polygamous papaya显示文摘The homologous genes FLORICAULA (FLO) in Antirrhinum and LEAFY (LFY) in Arabidopsis are known to regu- late the initiation of flowering in these two distantly related plant species. These genes are necessary also for the expression of downstream genes that control floral organ identity. We used Arabidopsis LFY cDNA as a probe to clone and sequence a papaya ortholog of LFY, PFL. It encodes a protein that shares 61% identity with the Arabidopsis LFY gene and 71% identity with the LFY homologs of the two woody tree species: California sycamore (Platanus racemosa) and black cottonwood (Populus trichocarpa). Despite the high sequence similarity within two conserved regions, the N-terminal proline-rich motif in papaya PFL differs from other members in the family. This difference may not affect the gene function of papaya PFL, since an equally divergent but a functional LFY ortholog NEEDLY of Pinus radiata has been reported. Genomic and BAC Southern analyses indicated that there is only one copy of PFL in the papaya genome. In situ hybridization experiments demonstrated that PFL is expressed at a relatively low level in leaf primordia, but it is expressed at a high level in the floral meristem. Quantitative PCR analyses revealed that PFL was expressed in flower buds of all three sex types - male, female, and hermaphrodite with marginal difference between hermaphrodite and unisexual flowers. | 14 | High Thermoelectric Performance of Cu-Doped PbSe-PbS System Enabled by High-Throughput Experimental Screening显示文摘Recent advances in high-throughput(HTP)computational power and machine learning have led to great achievements in exploration of new thermoelectric materials.However,experimental discovery and optimization of thermoelectric materials have long relied on the traditional Edisonian trial and error approach.Herein,we demonstrate that ultrahigh thermoelectric performance in a Cu-doped PbSe-PbS system can be realized by HTP experimental screening and precise property modulation.Combining the HTP experimental technique with transport model analysis,an optimal Se/S ratio showing high thermoelectric performance has been efficiently screened out.Subsequently,based on the screened Se/S ratio,the doping content of Cu has been subtly adjusted to reach the optimum carrier concentration.As a result,an outstanding peak zT~1:6 is achieved at 873 K for a 1.8 at%Cu-doped PbSe_(0.6)S_(0.4) sample,which is the superior value among the n-type Te-free lead chalcogenides.We anticipate that current work will stimulate large-scale unitization of the HTP experimental technique in the thermoelectric field,which can greatly accelerate the research and development of new high-performance thermoelectric materials. | Li You Zhili Li Quanying Ma Shiyang He Qidong Zhang Feng Wang Guoqiang Wu Qingyi Li Pengfei Luo Jiye Zhang Jun Luo | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 4 |

| 16 | A notary group-based cross-chain mechanism显示文摘As an emerging distributed technology, blockchain has begun to penetrate into many fields such as finance, healthcare, supply chain, intelligent transportation. However, the interoperability and value exchange between different independent blockchain systems is restricting the expansion of blockchain. In this paper, a notary group-based cross-chain interaction model is proposed to achieve the interoperability between different blockchains. Firstly, a notary election mechanism is proposed to choose one notary from the notary group to act as a bridge for cross-chain transactions. Secondly, a margin pool is introduced to limit the misconduct of the elected notary and ensure the value transfer between the involved blockchains. Moreover, a reputation based incentive mechanism is used to encourage members of the notary group to participate in cross-chain transactions. | 17 | Association between p21 Ser31Arg polymorphism and cancer risk:a meta-analysis显示文摘P21(CDKN1A),a key cell cycle regulatory protein that governs cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase,can regulate cell proliferation,growth arrest,and apoptosis.The Ser31Arg polymorphism is located in the highly conserved region of p21 and may encode functionally distinct proteins.Although many epidemiological studies have been conducted to evaluate the association between the p21 Ser31Arg polymorphism and cancer risk,the findings remain conflicting.This meta-analysis with 33 077 cases and 45 013 controls from 44 published case-control studies showed that the variant homozygous 31Arg/Arg genotype was associated with an increased risk of numerous types of cancers in a random-effect model(homozygote comparison:OR = 1.17,95% CI = 0.99 to 1.37,P = 0.0002 for the heterogeneity test;recessive model comparison:OR = 1.16,95% CI = 1.01 to 1.33,P = 0.0001 for the heterogeneity test).Stratified analysis revealed that increased cancer risk associated with the 31Arg/Arg genotype remained significant in subgroups of colorectal cancer,estrogen-related cancer,Caucasians,population-based studies,studies with matching information or a larger sample size.Heterogeneity analysis showed that tumor type contributed to substantial between-study heterogeneity(recessive model comparison:χ2 = 21.83,df = 7,P = 0.003).The results from this large-sample sized meta-analysis suggest that the p21 31Arg/Arg genotype may serve as a potential marker for increased cancer risk. | Hongxia Ma Ziyuan Zhou Sheng Wei Qingyi Wei | 2011 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2011,30,4: | 3 |
| 18 | Electronic structure and optical property of boron doped semiconducting graphene nanoribbons显示文摘We present a system study on the electronic structure and optical property of boron doped semiconducting graphene nanoribbons using the density functional theory. Energy band structure, density of states, deformation density, Mulliken popular and optical spectra are considered to show the special electronic structure of boron doped semiconducting graphene nanoribbons. The C-B bond form is discussed in detail. From our analysis it is concluded that the Fermi energy of boron doped semiconducting graphene nanoribbons gets lower than that of intrinsic semiconducting graphene nanoribbons. Our results also show that the boron doped semiconducting graphene nanoribbons behave as p-type semiconducting and that the absorption coefficient of boron doped armchair graphene nanoribbons is generally enhanced between 2.0 eV and 3.3 eV. In order to analyze the characteristics of this device and the thickness of N+ poly-silicon, we consider the impurity concentration in the N+ poly-silicon layer and the work function of transparent conductive oxide (TCO) in front contact in the calculation. The thickness of N+ poly-silicon has little impact on the device when the thickness varies from 20 μm to 300 μm. The effects of impurity concentration in polycrystalline are analyzed. The conclusion is drawn that the open-circuit voltage (Voc) of P+ α-Si /N+ polycrystalline solar cell is very high, reaching 752 mV, and the conversion efficiency reaches 9.44%. | 20 | Energy-limiting factor for coal and gas outburst occurrence in intact coal seam显示文摘This research reviewed the mechanics and gas desorption properties of intact coal,and tested the crushing work ratios of different intact coals,and then,studied the stress conditions for the failure or crushing of intact coal and the gas demand for the pulverization of intact coal particles.When a real-life outburst case is examined,the required minimum stress for intact coal outburst is estimated.The study concludes that the crushing work ratios of three intact coal samples vary from 294.3732 to 945.8048 J/m^(2).For the real-life case,more than 2300 MJ of transport work is needed,and 10062.09,7046.57 and 5895.47 m^(3) of gas is required when the gas pressure is 1,2 and 3 MPa,respectively.The crushing work exceeds the transport work and even reaches 13.96 times of the transport work.How to provide such an enormous crushing work is an energy-limiting factor for the outburst in intact coal.The strain energy is needed for the crushing work,and the required minimum stress is over 54.35 MPa,even reaching 300.44 MPa.These minimum stresses far exceed the in-situ vertical and horizontal stresses that can be provided at the 300–700 m mining depth range. | Qingyi Tu Yuanping Cheng Sheng Xue Ting Ren Xiang Cheng | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,4: | 2 |
