1Numerical simulation study of the failure evolution process and failure mode of surrounding rock in deep soft rock roadways显示文摘Based on the safety coefficient method,which assigns rock failure criteria to calculate the rock mass unit,the safety coefficient contour of surrounding rock is plotted to judge the distribution form of the fractured zone in the roadway.This will provide the basis numerical simulation to calculate the surrounding rock fractured zone in a roadway.Using the single factor and multi-factor orthogonal test method,the evolution law of roadway surrounding rock displacements,plastic zone and stress distribution under different conditions is studied.It reveals the roadway surrounding rock burst evolution process,and obtains five kinds of failure modes in deep soft rock roadway.Using the fuzzy mathematics clustering analysis method,the deep soft surrounding rock failure model in Zhujixi mine can be classified and patterns recognized.Compared to the identification results and the results detected by geological radar of surrounding rock loose circle,the reliability of the results of the pattern recognition is verified and lays the foundations for the support design of deep soft rock roadways.Meng Qingbin Han Lijun Xiao Yu Li Hao Wen Shengyong Zhang Jian 2016International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2016,26,2:14

3Chinese herbal medicine reduces mortality in patients with severe and critical coronavirus disease 2019: a retrospective cohort study显示文摘This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM)in patients with severe/critical coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this retrospective study,data were collected from 662 patients with severe/critical COVID-19 who were admitted to a designated hospital to treat patients with severe COVID-19 in Wuhan before March 20,2020.All patients were divided into an exposed group(CHM users)and a control group(non-users).After propensity score matching in a 1:1 ratio,156 CHM users were matched by propensity score to 156 non-users.No significant differences in seven baseline clinical variables were found between the two groups of patients.All-cause mortality was reported in 13 CHM users who died and 36 non-users who died.After multivariate adjustment,the mortality risk of CHM users was reduced by 82.2%(odds ratio 0.178,95%CI 0.076–0.418;P<0.001)compared with the non-users.Secondly,age(odds ratio 1.053,95%CI 1.023–1.084;P<0.001)and the proportion of severe/critical patients(odds ratio 0.063,95%CI 0.028–0.143;P<0.001)were the risk factors of mortality.These results show that the use of CHM may reduce the mortality of patients with severe/critical COVID-19.Guohua Chen Wen Su Jiayao Yang Dan Luo Ping Xia Wen Jia Xiuyang Li Chuan Wang Suping Lang Qingbin Meng Ying Zhang Yuhe Ke An Fan Shuo Yang Yujiao Zheng Xuepeng Fan Jie Qiao Fengmei Lian Li Wei Xiaolin Tong 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,6:10

5Microstructure and Properties of ZL101 Alloy Affected by Substrate Movement Speed of a Novel Semisolid Continuous Micro Fused-Casting for Metal Process显示文摘A novel semisolid continuous Micro Fused-Casting additive manufacturing technology for producing a ZL101 alloy strip was developed, Micro Fused-Casting means that the semisolid metal slurry was pressed out from the outlet of bottom of crucible to the movable plate. The degree of sub-cooling was easily provided by movement of substrate in the micro fused-casting area. Under the aid of 3 D manufacturing software, the ZL101 alloy strip was solidified and formed layer by layer. The microstructure and properties of ZL101 semisolid slurry were improved by the cooling conditions. 6Arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism metasurfaces for all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers显示文摘The control of polarization,an essential property of light,is of broad scientific and technological interest.Polarizers are indispensable optical elements for direct polarization generation.However,arbitrary polarization generation,except that of common linear and circular polarization,relies heavily on bulky optical components such as cascading linear polarizers and waveplates.Here,we present an effective strategy for designing all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers based on perfect arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism and implement it in a monolayer all-dielectric metasurface.This strategy allows preferential transmission and conversion of one polarization state located at an arbitrary position on the Poincare sphere to its handedness-flipped state while completely blocking its orthogonal state.In contrast to previous methods that were limited to only linear or circular polarization,our method manifests perfect dichroism of nearly 100%in theory and greater than 90%experimentally for arbitrary polarization states.By leveraging this attractive dichroism,our demonstration of the generation of polarization beams located at an arbitrary position on a Poincare sphere directly from unpolarized light can substantially extend the scope of meta-optics and dramatically promote state-of-the-art nanophotonic devices.Shuai Wang Zi-Lan Deng Yujie Wang Qingbin Zhou Xiaolei Wang Yaoyu Cao Bai-Ou Guan Shumin Xiao Xiangping Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:6

8Influence of dynamic pressure on deep underground soft rock roadway support and its application显示文摘Due to high ground stress and mining disturbance, the deformation and failure of deep soft rock roadway is serious, and invalidation of the anchor net-anchor cable supporting structure occurs. The failure characteristics of roadways revealed with the help of the ground pressure monitoring. Theoretical analysis was adopted to analyze the influence of mining disturbance on stress distribution in surrounding rock,and the change of stress was also calculated. Considering the change of stress in surrounding rock of bottom extraction roadway, the displacement, plastic zone and distribution law of principal stress difference under different support schemes were studied by means of FLAC3D. The supporting scheme of U-shaped steel was proposed for bottom extraction roadway that underwent mining disturbance. We carried out a similarity model test to verify the effect of support in dynamic pressure. Monitoring results demonstrated the change rules of deformation and stress of surrounding rock in different supporting schemes. The supporting scheme of U-shaped steel had an effective control on deformation of surrounding rock. 9Tectonic Evolution of Southeast Central Asian Orogenic Belt: Evidence from Geochronological Data and Paleontology of the Early Paleozoic Deposits in Inner Mongolia显示文摘In this study, we present detrital zircon U-Pb dating and paleontological data for the newly identified Ayadeng Formation in the northern margin of the North China Block(NCB) and Xibiehe Formation(molasse) in the Bainaimiao arc belt(BAB), which could provide strong evidence indicating the affinity of the BAB and the evolution of the southeast Central Asian orogenic belt(CAOB). Zircon U-Pb data of siltstone samples and paleontological data indicate the Ayadeng Formation dates back to the Early Ordovician. Although its location is near the NCB, its zircon age spectra and paleontology share a closer affinity with those of Tarim and NE Gondwana, as the U-Pb data suggest an age range of 490–2 192 Ma(peak age=629, 788, 965 and 1 935 Ma), and similar gastropod fossils are found in Tarim and NE Gondwana. The U-Pb ages of meta-sandstone samples in the Xuniwusu Formation indicate a shared inheritance with the Ayadeng Formation(before 440 Ma), and the U-Pb ages of sandstone samples in the Xibiehe Formation are concentrated, with age peaks centered at ca. 420 Ma. Fossil corals occur in these two formations, and their age components also indicate a collisional setting. Therefore, it is speculated that the BAB drifted away from Tarim or NE Gondwana during the Ordovician and became attached to northern NCB between 440–420 Ma as an exotic terrane. 10Potential one-step strategy for PET degradation and PHB biosynthesis through co-cultivation of two engineered microorganisms显示文摘The management and recycling of plastic waste is a challenging global issue.Polyethylene terephthalate(PET),one of the most widely used synthetic plastics,can be hydrolyzed by a series of enzymes.However,upcycling the resulting monomers is also a problem.In this study,we designed a co-cultivation system,in which PET degradation was coupled with polyhydroxybutyrate(PHB)production.First,PETase from Ideonalla sakaiensis was expressed in Yarrowia lipolytica Po1f with a signal peptide from lipase.The engineered PETase-producing Y.lipolytica was confirmed to hydrolyze bis(2-hydroxyethyl)terephthalate(BHET)and PET powder into the monomers terephthalate(TPA)and ethylene glycol(EG).Simultaneously,a TPA-degrading Pseudomonas stutzeri strain isolated from PET waste was transformed with a recombinant plasmid containing the phb CAB operon from Ralstonia eutropha,which encodes enzymes for the biosynthesis of PHB.The two co-cultivated engineered microbes could directly hydrolyze BHET to produce the bioplastic PHB in one fermentation step.During this process,5.16 g/L BHET was hydrolyzed in 12 h,and 3.66 wt%PHB(3.54 g/L cell dry weight)accumulated in 54 h.A total of 0.31g/L TPA was produced from the hydrolyzation of PET in 228 h.Although PHB could not be synthesized directly from PET because of the low hydrolyzing efficiency of PETase,this study provides a new strategy for the biodegradation and upcycling of PET waste by artificial microflora.Pan Liu Tong Zhang Yi Zheng Qingbin Li Tianyuan Su Qingsheng Qi 2021Engineering Microbiology2021,1,1:3

12An efficient time-integration method for nonlinear dynamic analysis of solids and structures显示文摘This paper presents an efficient time-integration method for obtaining reliable solutions to the second-order nonlinear dynamic problems in structural engineering. This method employs both the backward-acceleration differentiation formula and the trapezoidal rule, resulting in a self-starting, single step, second-order accurate algorithm. With the same computational effort as the trapezoidal rule, the proposed method remains stable in large deformation and long time range solutions even when the trapezoidal rule fails. Meanwhile, the proposed method has the following characteristics: (1) it is applicable to linear as well as general nonlinear analyses; (2) it does not involve additional variables (e.g. Lagrange multipliers) and artificial parameters; (3) it is a single-solver algorithm at the discrete time points with symmetric effective stiffness matrix and effective load vectors; and (4) it is easy to implement in an existing computational software. 13Resolving and weighing the quantum orbits in strong-field tunneling ionization显示文摘Tunneling ionization of atoms and molecules induced by intense laser pulses contains the contributions of numerous quantum orbits.Identifying the contributions of these orbits is crucial for exploring the application of tunneling and for understanding various tunneling-triggered strong-field phenomena.We perform a combined experimental and theoretical study to identify the relative contributions of the quantum orbits corresponding to the electrons tunneling ionized during the adjacent rising and falling quarter cycles of the electric field of the laser pulse.In our scheme,a perturbative second-harmonic field is added to the fundamental driving field.By analyzing the relative phase dependence of the signal in the photoelectron momentum distribution,the relative contributions of these two orbits are unambiguously determined.Our results show that their relative contributions sensitively depend on the longitudinal momentum and modulate with the transverse momentum of the photoelectron,which is attributed to the interference of the electron wave packets of the long orbit.The relative contributions of these orbits resolved here are important for the application of strong-field tunneling ionization as a photoelectron spectroscopy for attosecond time-resolved measurements.Jia Tan Shengliang Xu Xu Han Yueming Zhou Min Li Wei Cao Qingbin Zhang Peixiang Lu 2021Advanced Photonics2021,3,3:2
14Effect of Pouring Temperature on Microstructure and Properties of A356 Alloy Strip by a Novel Semisolid Micro Fused-Casting for Metal显示文摘A novel semisolid micro fused-casting(MFC) for preparing A356 alloy strips is proposed, and the effects of process parameters of pouring temperature on the microstructure and properties of A356 alloy strips are investigated. MFC means that the semisolid metal slurry was pressed out from the outlet of bottom of crucible to the movable plate, and directly solidified and formed layer by layer. The microstructure and properties of A356 semisolid alloy slurry were influenced by the cooling conditions. Results show that the aluminu alloy A356 strip samples fabricated by micro fused-casting had good performances and uniform structures with the pouring temperature at 595 ℃ and the substrate movement speed at 18 mm/s. 17Repercussions of COVID-19 pandemic on solid waste generation and management strategies显示文摘It has been over ten months since the beginning of the 2019 coronavirus disease(COVID-2019),and its impact on solid waste management,especially medical waste,is becoming clearer.This study systematically reviews the potential influences of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical waste,personal protection equipment waste and municipal solid waste(MSW),and discusses the corresponding measures and policies of solid waste management in typical countries.The results show that the generation of medical waste from the pandemic increased significantly,with 18%‒425%growth.It is estimated that the daily output of COVID-19 medical waste increased from 200 t/d on Feb.22 to over 29000 t/d at the end of September 2020 throughout the world.The use of personal protective equipment will continue to grow in the long-term,while the blockade and isolation measures greatly reduced the volume of commercial waste,especially for tourist cities,and part of this waste was transferred to household waste.Residents’attitudes and behavior toward food waste have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.In response to the pandemic,international organizations and several countries have issued new policies and guidelines and adjusted their management strategies for medical waste and MSW treatment.The pandemic has brought specific challenges to the disposal capacity of medical waste worldwide.It has also brought about the stagnation of policies related to the reduction of plastic products and waste recycling.This study will provide some useful information for managers and governmental officials on effective solid waste management during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.Yangyang Liang Qingbin Song Naiqi Wu Jinhui Li Yuan Zhong Wenlei Zeng 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,6:1
