1Discovery of mitochondrial chimeric-gene associated with cytoplasmic male sterility of HL-rice显示文摘The mitochondrial genome libraries of HL-type sterile line(A) and maintainer line(B) have been constructed. Mitochondrial gene, atp6, was used to screen libraries, due to the different Southern and Northern blot results between sterile and maintainer line. Sequencing analysis of positive clones proved that there were two copies of atp6 gene in sterile line and only one in maintainer line. One copy of atpt6 in sterile line was same to that in maintainer line; the other showed different flanking sequence from the 49th nucleotide downstream of the termination codon of atp6 gene. A new chimeric gene, orfH79, was found in the region. 4Submarine Landslides on the North Continental Slope of the South China Sea显示文摘Recent and paleo-submarine landslides are widely distributed within strata in deep-water areas along continental slopes, uplifts, and carbonate platforms on the north continental margin of the South China Sea(SCS). In this paper, high-resolution 3D seismic data and multibeam data based on seismic sedimentology and geomorphology are employed to assist in identifying submarine landslides. In addition, deposition models are proposed that are based on specific geological structures and features, and which illustrate the local stress field over entire submarine landslides in deep-water areas of the SCS. The SCS is one of the largest fluvial sediment sinks in enclosed or semi-enclosed marginal seas worldwide. It therefore provides a set of preconditions for the formation of submarine landslides, including rapid sediment accumulation, formation of gas hydrates, and fluid overpressure. A new concept involving temporal and spatial analyses is tested to construct a relationship between submarine landslides and different time scale trigger mechanisms, and three mechanisms are discussed in the context of spatial scale and temporal frequency: evolution of slope gradient and overpressure, global environmental changes, and tectonic events. Submarine landslides that are triggered by tectonic events are the largest but occur less frequently, while submarine landslides triggered by the combination of slope gradient and overpressure evolution are the smallest but most frequently occurring events. 7Effects of grain size on phase transition behavior of nanocrystalline shape memory alloys显示文摘We report recent advances in the experimental and theoretical study of grain size(GS)effects on the thermal and mechanical properties of nanostructured NiTi polycrystalline shape memory alloy(SMA).It is shown that when GS<60 nm,the superelastic stress-strain hysteresis loop area(H)of the polycrystal decreases rapidly with GS and tends to vanish as GS approaches 10 nanometers.At the same time,the temperature dependence of the transition stress also decreases with GS and eventually approaches zero,leading to a wide superelastic temperature window and breakdown of the Clausius-Claperyon relationship.Rate dependence of the stress-strain responses is significantly reduced and the cyclic stability of the material is improved by the nanocrystallization.It is proposed that the emergence of such significant changes in the behavior of the material with GS reduction originate from the large increase in the area-to-volume ratios of the nanometer-thick interfaces(grain boundary and Austenite-Martensite(A-M)interface)in the polycrystal.In particular,with GS reduction,interfacial energy terms will gradually become dominant over the bulk energy of the crystallite,eventually bring fundamental changes in the phase transition responses of the material.Modelling strategy leading to the establishment of quantitative relationships among GS,grain boundary,A-M interfaces and the macroscopic responses of the material are outlined.SUN QingPing ASLAN Ahadi LI MingPeng CHEN MingXiang 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:9
8The gut microbial metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, alleviates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury via mitigation of macrophage pro-inflammatory activity in mice显示文摘Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a serious complication that occurs following shock and/or liver surgery. Gut microbiota and their metabolites are key upstream modulators of development of liver injury. Herein, we investigated the potential contribution of gut microbes to HIRI.Ischemia/reperfusion surgery was performed to establish a murine model of HIRI. 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and metabolomics were used for microbial analysis. Transcriptomics and proteomics analysis were employed to study the host cell responses. Our results establish HIRI was significantly increased when surgery occurred in the evening(ZT12, 20:00) when compared with the morning(ZT0, 08:00);however, antibiotic pretreatment reduced this diurnal variation. The abundance of a microbial metabolite3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid was significantly higher in ZT0 when compared with ZT12 in the gut and this compound significantly protected mice against HIRI. Furthermore, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid suppressed the macrophage pro-inflammatory response in vivo and in vitro. This metabolite inhibits histone deacetylase activity by reducing its phosphorylation. Histone deacetylase inhibition suppressed macrophage pro-inflammatory activation and diminished the diurnal variation of HIRI. Our findings revealed a novel protective microbial metabolite against HIRI in mice. 9Kinetic hydrate inhibitor performance of new copolymer poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone-co-2-vinyl pyridine)s with TBAB显示文摘In oil and gas field, the application of kinetic hydrate inhibitors (KHIs) independently has remained problematic in high subcooling and high water-cut situation. One feasible method to resolve this problem is the combined use of KHIs and some synergists, which would enhance KHIs’ inhibitory effect on both hydrate nucleation and hydrate crystal growth. In this study, a novel kind of KHI copolymer poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone-co-2-vinyl pyridine)s (HGs) is used in conjunction with TBAB to show its high performance on hydrate inhibition. The performance of HGs with different monomer ratios in structure II tetrahydrofuran (THF) hydrate is investigated using kinetic hydrate inhibitor evaluation apparatus by step-cooling method and isothermal cooling method. With the combined gas hydrate inhibitor at the concentration of 1.0 wt%, the induction time of 19 wt% THF solution could be prolonged to 8.5 h at a high subcooling of 6℃. 10Weighted adaptive filtering algorithm for carrier tracking of deep space signal显示文摘Carrier tracking is laid great emphasis and is the difficulty of signal processing in deep space communication system.For the autonomous radio receiving system in deep space, the tracking of the received signal is automatic when the signal to noise ratio(SNR) is unknown.If the frequency-locked loop(FLL) or the phase-locked loop(PLL) with fixed loop bandwidth, or Kalman filter with fixed noise variance is adopted, the accretion of estimation error and filter divergence may be caused.Therefore, the Kalman filter algorithm with adaptive capability is adopted to suppress filter divergence.Through analyzing the inadequacies of Sage–Husa adaptive filtering algorithm, this paper introduces a weighted adaptive filtering algorithm for autonomous radio.The introduced algorithm may resolve the defect of Sage–Husa adaptive filtering algorithm that the noise covariance matrix is negative definite in filtering process.In addition, the upper diagonal(UD) factorization and innovation adaptive control are used to reduce model estimation errors,suppress filter divergence and improve filtering accuracy.The simulation results indicate that compared with the Sage–Husa adaptive filtering algorithm, this algorithm has better capability to adapt to the loop, convergence performance and tracking accuracy, which contributes to the effective and accurate carrier tracking in low SNR environment, showing a better application prospect.Song Qingping Liu Rongke 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4:7
11Study of a Horizontal Shear Line over the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau and the Impact of Diabatic Heating on Its Evolution显示文摘Based on the 4 times daily 0.75°× 0.75° ERA-Interim data, the structural evolution of a Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau horizontal(east–west-oriented) shear line(TSL) during 15–19 August 2015 and the effect of diabatic heating on its evolution were analyzed. The results show that the TSL possessed a vertical thickness of up to 1.5 km(approximately 600–450 h Pa), and was baroclinic in nature. Weak ascending motions occurred near the TSL, accompanied with more significant gradients in dew point temperature than in temperature. The TSL was characterized by diurnal variations in its appearance and structure. It was relatively full in shape(broken) and was the lowest(highest) in vertical extent at 0000(1800) UTC, and veered clockwise(anticlockwise) during 0000–0600(1200–1800) UTC. When the north–south span of the TSL increased, it was prone to fracturing; and it disappeared when the dew point temperature gradients to its either side decreased. When the TSL moved northward(southward), its western(eastern) section broke up, while the eastern(western) section inclined to regenerate or merge. The TSL tended to move towards the positive vorticity areas with significant increases in vorticity. When the positive vorticity center moved down, the height of TSL decreased. 12Carbon-based derivatives from metal-organic frameworks as cathode hosts for Li–S batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(Li–S batteries) are promising candidates for the next generation high-energy rechargeable Li batteries due to their high theoretical specific capacity(1672 m Ahg-1) and energy density(2500 Wh kg-1). The commercialization of Li–S batteries is impeded by several key challenges at cathode side, e.g. the insulating nature of sulfur and discharged products(Li2S 2 and Li2S), the solubility of long-chain polysulfides and volume variation of sulfur cathode upon cycling. Recently, the carbonbased derivatives from metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) has emerged talent in their utilization as cathode hosts for Li–S batteries. They are not only highly conductive and porous to enable the acceleration of Li +/e-transfer and accommodation of volumetric expansion of sulfur cathode during cycling, but also enriched by controllable chemical active sites to enable the adsorption of polysulfides and promotion of their conversion reaction kinetics. 13Transcriptomic analyses identify albino-associated genes of a novel albino tea germplasm ‘Huabai 1’显示文摘Albinism in shoots of tea plants is a common phenotypic expression which gives the tea infusion a pleasant umami taste.A novel natural albino mutant tea germplasm containing high amino acids content was found and named as‘Huabai 1’.‘Huabai 1’has white jade tender shoots under low temperature and turns green with increased temperature.In order to understand the molecular mechanism of color change in leaf of‘Huabai 1’,transcriptome analysis was performed to identify albino-associated differentially expressed genes(DEGs).A total of 483 DEGs were identified from white shoots of‘Huabai 1’compared to its green shoots.There were 15 DEGs identified to be involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis,which account for the majority of characterized DEGs.The metabolites related to phenylpropanoid biosynthesis revealed similar expression pattern of DEGs.Furthermore,metabolic pathways such as ubiquonone,tyrosine,and flavonoid biosynthesis associated with phenylpropanoid biosynthesis could also contribute to the color change in‘Huabai 1’tender shoots.Protein–protein interaction analysis revealed a hub protein NEDD8(CSA009575)which interacted with many regulated genes in spliceosome,nitrogen metabolism,phenylpropanoid biosynthesis,and other pathways.In conclusion,the findings in this study indicate that the color change of‘Huabai 1’tender shoots is a combined effect of phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway and other metabolic pathways including flavonoid biosynthesis in tea plants.Chlorophyll biosynthesis-related genes LHCII and SGR may also play some roles in color change of‘Huabai 1’.Qingping Ma Huan Li Zhongwei Zou Emmanuel Arkorful Qianru Lv Qiongqiong Zhou Xuan Chen Kang Sun Xinghui Li 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:7
14Artemisinin mimics calorie restriction to extend yeast lifespan via a dual-phase mode: a conclusion drawn from global transcriptome profiling显示文摘Calorie restriction(CR) promotes longevity among distinct organisms from yeast to mammals. Although CR-prolonged lifespan is believed to associate with enhanced respiratory activity, it is apparently controversial for accelerated energy consumption regardless of insufficient nutrient intake. In reconciling the contradiction of less food supply versus much metabolite dispense, we revealed a CR-based mode of dual-phase responses that encompass a phase of mitochondrial enhancement(ME) and a phase of post-mitochondrial enhancement(PME), which can be distinguished by the expression patterns and activity dynamics of mitochondrial signatures. ME is characterized by global antioxidative activation, and PME is denoted by systemic metabolic modulation. CR-mediated aging-delaying effects are replicated by artesunate, a semi-synthetic derivative of the antimalarial artemisinin that can alkylate heme-containing proteins, suggesting artesunate-heme conjugation functionally resembles nitric oxide-heme interaction. A correlation of artesunate-heme conjugation with cytochrome c oxidase activation has been established from adduct formation and activity alteration. Exogenous hydrogen peroxide also mimics CR to trigger antioxidant responses, affect signaling cascades, and alter respiratory rhythms, implying hydrogen peroxide is engaged in lifespan extension. 15Chemical compound cinobufotalin potently induces FOXO1-stimulated cisplatin sensitivity by antagonizing its binding partner MYH9显示文摘In this study,we present novel molecular mechanisms by which FOXO1 functions as a tumor suppressor to prevent the pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).First,we observed that FOXO1 not only controlled tumor stemness and metastasis,but also sensitized NPC cells to cisplatin(DDP)in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistic studies demonstrated that FOXO1-induced miR-200b expression through the GSK3β/β-catenin/TCF4 network-mediated stimulation of ZEB1,which reduced tumor stemness and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)signal.Furthermore,we observed FOXO1 interaction with MYH9 and suppression of MYH9 expression by modulating the PI3K/AKT/c-Myc/P53/miR-133a-3p pathway.Decreased MYH9 expression not only reduced its interactions with GSK3β,but also attenuated TRAF6 expression,which then decreased the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of GSK3βprotein.Increased GSK3βexpression stimulated theβ-catenin/TCF4/ZEB1/miR-200b network,which increased the downstream tumor stemness and EMT signals.Subsequently,we observed that chemically synthesized cinobufotalin(CB)strongly increased FOXO1-induced DDP chemosensitivity by reducing MYH9 expression,and the reduction in MYH9 modulated GSK3β/β-catenin and its downstream tumor stemness and EMT signal in NPC.In clinical samples,the combination of low FOXO1 expression and high MYH9 expression indicated the worst overall survival rates.Our studies demonstrated that CB potently induced FOXO1-mediated DDP sensitivity by antagonizing its binding partner MYH9 to modulate tumor stemness in NPC.YongHao Li Xiong Liu Xian Lin Menyang Zhao Yanyi Xiao Chen Liu Zixi Liang Zelong Lin Renhui Yi Zibo Tang Jiahao Liu Xin Li Qingping Jiang Libo Li Yinyin Xie Zhen Liu Weiyi Fang 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:6
16Phot2-regulated relocation of NPH_3 mediates phototropic response to high-intensity blue light in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Two redundant blue-light receptors, known as phototropins(phot1 and phot2), influence a variety of physiological responses, including phototropism, chloroplast positioning, and stomatal opening in Arabidopsis thaliana.Whereas phot1 functions in both low-and high-intensity blue light(HBL), phot2 functions primarily in HBL. Here, we aimed to elucidate phot2-specific functions by screening for HBLinsensitive mutants among mutagenized Arabidopsis phot1 mutants. One of the resulting phot2 signaling associated(p2 sa) double mutants, phot1 p2 sa2, exhibited phototropic defects that could be restored by constitutively expressing NON-PHOTOTROPIC HYPOCOTYL 3(NPH3), indicating that P2 SA2 was allelic to NPH3. It was observed that NPH3-GFP signal mainly localized to and clustered on the plasma membrane in darkness. This NPH3 clustering on the plasma High-Immembrane was not affected by mutations in genes encoding proteins that interact with NPH3, including PHOT1, PHOT2 and ROOT PHOTOTROPISM 2(RPT2). However, the HBL irradiationmediated release of NPH3 proteins into the cytoplasm was inhibited in phot1 mutants and enhanced in phot2 and rpt2-2 mutants. Furthermore, HBL-induced hypocotyl phototropism was enhanced in phot1 mutants and inhibited in the phot2 and rpt2-2 mutants. 17Synthesis and application of a novel combined kinetic hydrate inhibitor显示文摘In oil and gas exploration and transportation,low dosage hydrate inhibitors(LDHIs) are more favorably utilized to inhibit the formation of hydrates than thermodynamic inhibitors(THs) as a trend. However,there are no industrial products of LDHIs available domestically,and the corresponding application experience is in urgent need. In this paper,a combined hydrate inhibitor(HY-1) was synthesized after a series of reaction condition optimization,and its performance on THF hydrate inhibition was investigated using kinetic hydrate inhibitor evaluation apparatus with 6 cells bathing in air. The results show that when the reaction temperature is 60°C,the reaction time is 6 h,and the monomer:solvent ratio is 1:2,the product has the best kinetic hydrate inhibitor performance on THF hydrate. On these bases,the scale-up production of this combined hydrate inhibitor was carried out. Although the scale-up product(HY-10) performs less effectively on the THF hydrate inhibition than HY-1,it functions better than a commercial product(Inhibex501) during in-house tests. HY-10 was successfully applied to the gas production process. Field trials in northern Shaanxi PetroChina Changqing Oilfield Company(PCOC) show that 2 wt% of HY-10 is effective on natural gas hydrate inhibition. 18The simulation of nature gas production from ocean gas hydrate reservoir by depressurization显示文摘The vast amount of hydrocarbon gas encaged in gas hydrates is regarded as a kind of future potential energy supply due to its wide deposition and cleanness. How to exploit gas hydrate with safe, effective and economical methods is being pursued. In this paper, a mathematical model is developed to simulate the hydrate dissocia- tion by depressurization in hydrate-bearing porous medium. The model can be used to analyze the effects of the flow of multiphase fluids, the intrinsic kinetic process of hydrate dissociation, the endothermic process of hydrate dissociation, ice-water phase equilibrium, the variation of permeability, the convection and conduction on the hydrate dissociation and gas and water production. The nu- merical results agreed well with the 1-D and 2-D experiments. The numerical results for 3-D hydrate reservoir show that in the first stage of depressurization gas can be produced effectively from hydrate reservoir. With the depletion of reservoir energy because of endothermic process of hydrate dissociation the gas rate decreases rapidly. 19Simultaneously Enhanced Cryogenic Tensile Strength,Ductility and Impact Resistance of Epoxy Resins by Polyethylene Glycol显示文摘Rubbers have been well accepted for modifying brittle epoxies but rubber modified epoxies usually posses lowered tensile strength though enhanced ductility and fracture resistance.In this work,a polyethylene glycol(PEG-4000) is used to modify diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A/methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride system for enhancing cryogenic tensile strength,ductility and impact resistance.The results display that the cryogenic tensile strength,ductility(failure strain) and fracture resistance(impact strength) are all enhanced for the modified epoxy system at proper PEG contents.The maximum tensile strength(127.8 MPa) at the cryogenic temperature(77 K) with an improvement of 30.1%is observed for the modified system with the 15 wt%PEG content.The ductility and impact resistance at both room temperature and cryogenic temperature are all improved for the modified epoxy system with proper PEG-4000 contents.These observations are explained by the positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy results and scanning electron microscopy results.Moreover,the glass transition temperature decreases slightly with increasing PEG content.Qingping Feng Jiaoping Yang Yu Liu Hongmei Xiao Shaoyun Fu 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,1:6
20Evaluation of seed production in a first-generation seed orchard of Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis)显示文摘We evaluated seed production in a first-generation orchard of Chinese pine(Pinus tabuliformis) during the crucial transition period from first generation to advanced generations.Clones varied significantly in all traits related to seed production.Repeatability of these traits ranged from 0 to 0.96.Seed production per ramet(SPPR),seed producing index(SPI),the number of relative female strobili(RFS),the number of scales,and the number of ineffective scales had comparatively high repeatability at 0.86,0.87,0.89,0.96,and 0.91,respectively.Correlation analysis showed that SPPR was greatly influenced by RFS and by the number of full seeds per cone.Finally,we showed that SPI was the best predictor of the seed-producing ability of clones.Our findings will assist seed orchard managers in effectively predicting and improving seed production of Chinese pine seed orchards.Huwei Yuan Shihui Niu Xianqing Zhou Qingping Du Yue Li Wei Li 2016Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5:4
