1Sorption of methane and CO_2 for enhanced coalbed methane recovery and carbon dioxide sequestration显示文摘Sequestration of CO_2 in deep and unmineable coal seams is one of the attractive alternatives to reduce its at- mospheric concentration.Injection of CO_2 in coal seams may help in enhancing the recovery of coalbed methane.An exper- imental study has been carried out using coal samples from three different coal seams,to evaluate the enhanced gas recovery and sequestration potential of these coals.The coals were first saturated with methane and then by depressurization some of the adsorbed methane was desorbed.After partial desorption,CO_2 was injected into the coals and subsequently they were depressurized again.Desorption of methane after the injections was studied,to investigate the ability of CO_2 to displace and enhance the recovery of methane from the coals.The coals exhibited varying behavior of adsorption of CO_2 and release of methane.For one coal,the release of methane was enhanced by injection of CO_2,suggesting preferential adsorption of CO_2 and desorption of methane.For the other two coals,CO_2 injection did not produce incremental methane initially,as there was initial resistance to methane release.However with continued CO_2 injection,most of the remaining methane was produced. 3Prediction of the position of coal particles in an air dense medium fluidized bed system显示文摘An air dense medium fluidized bed separator(ADMFBS) is used for dry beneficiation of coal using ultrafine magnetite particles as a pseudo-fluid medium. In this process, the coal particle gains additional weight due to coating on its surface and deposition at dead zone area by fine magnetite particles.Hence, the effective density of coal particle increases and the position of coal particle changes accordingly. In this work, an attempt was made to predict the position of coal particle in non-bubbling condition dense medium fluidized bed system. Coal particles of different shape such as cubical, rectangular prism,spherical and triangular prism with different projected area and density were used. The results show that the position of coal particle in air dense medium fluidized bed follows descending order with respect to the increase of density, projected area of coal particle and different shapes(i.e., triangular prism, cubical,rectangular prism and spherical). 5Combined Cumulant and Gaussian Mixture Approximation for Correlated Probabilistic Load Flow Studies:A New Approach显示文摘In this paper,a probabilistic load flow analysis technique that combines the cumulant method and Gaussian mixture approximation method is proposed.This technique overcomes the incapability of the existing series expansion methods to approximate multimodal probability distributions.A mix of Gaussian,non-Gaussian,and discrete type probability distributions for input bus powers is considered.Probability distributions of multimodal bus voltages and line power flows pertaining to these inputs are precisely obtained without using any series expansion method.At the same time,multiple input correlations are considered.Performance of the proposed method is demonstrated in IEEE 14 and 57 bus test systems.Results are compared with cumulant and Gram Charlier expansion,cumulant and Cornish Fisher expansion,dependent discrete convolution,and Monte Carlo simulation.Effects of different correlation cases on distribution of bus voltages and line power flows are also studied.B Rajanarayan Prusty Debashisha Jena 2016CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,2:3

8Cumulant-based correlated probabilistic load flowconsidering photovoltaic generation and electric vehiclecharging demand显示文摘This paper applies a cumulant-based analyticalmethod for probabilistic load flow (PLF) assessment intransmission and distribution systems. The uncertaintiespertaining to photovoltaic generations and aggregate busload powers are probabilistically modeled in the case oftransmission systems. In the case of distribution systems,the uncertainties pertaining to plug-in hybrid electricvehicle and battery electric vehicle charging demands inresidential community as well as charging stations areprobabilistically modeled. The probability distributions ofthe result variables (bus voltages and branch power flows)pertaining to these inputs are accurately established. Themultiple input correlation cases are incorporated. Simulta-neously, the performance of the proposed method isdemonstrated on a modified Ward-Hale 6-bus system andan IEEE 14-bus transmission system as well as on amodified IEEE 69-bus radial and an IEEE 33-bus meshdistribution system.
