| 1 | Surgical vs percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma in dangerous locations显示文摘AIM:To compare the long-term outcome of percutaneous vs surgical radiofrequency ablation(RFA) for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in dangerous locations.METHODS:One hundred and sixty-two patients with HCC in dangerous locations treated with percutaneous or surgical RFA were enrolled in this study.The patients were divided into percutaneous RFA group and surgical RFA group.After the patients were regularly followed up for a long time,their curative rate,hospital stay time,postoperative complications and 5-year local tumor progression were compared and analyzed.RESULTS:No significant difference was observed in curative rate between the two groups(91.3% vs 96.8%,P = 0.841).The hospital stay time was longer and more analgesics were required while the incidence of bile duct injury and RFA-related hemorrhage was lower in surgical RFA group than in percutaneous RFA group(P < 0.05).The local progression rate of HCC in dangerous locations was significantly lower in surgical RFA group than in percutaneous RFA group(P = 0.05).The relative risk of local tumor progression was 14.315 in percutaneous RFA group.CONCLUSION:The incidence of severe postoperative complications and local tumor progression is lower after surgical RFA than after percutaneous RFA. | Ji-Wei Huang Roberto Hernandez-Alejandro Kristopher P Croome Lu-Nan Yan Hong Wu Zhe-Yu Chen Pankaj Prasoon Yong Zeng | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011，17，1： | 14 |

| 4 | Establishing the need to model the actual state of stress along rock bolts显示文摘Proper design of rock bolt support in underground mines is critical to avoid incidents, accidents and loss of production. The traditional design approach only considers the axial(tensile) capacity and this is clearly not the situation in situ, where a rock bolt is subjected to both axial and shear/bending loads which determines its overall performance and failure behaviour. To demonstrate and analyse the shear displacement in bedded roof, scaled physical models of underground excavation were created. From the models it was found that the shear displacement between the layers depends on the vertical roof deformation and thickness of beds. To analyse the effect of combined loading on rock bolt design for suspension and beam building models, analytical methods were used to calculate the required spacing of rock bolt for a given safety factor. Numerical models were then created using Rocscience RS2 software to establish the stresses on the rock bolt. | 5 | Management of Hinchey Ⅱ diverticulitis显示文摘Colonic diverticulosis can either be asymptomatic or present with complications resulting in significant morbidity and mortality.A key presentation of complicated disease is abscess formation(Hinchey type Ⅱ).The natural course of this is unclear and therefore treatments range from conservative approach with antibiotics and percutaneous guided drainage(PCD) to surgery.There is no clear consensus on the exact management strategy.A Medline based literature search specifically looking at studies dealing with Hinchey type Ⅱ diverticulitis and its management was carried out.For comparison,five-year retrospective data of diverticular abscesses from our institution was collected and the outcome analysed.Various studies have looked into this aspect of the disease,elaborating on the significance of the size and location of the abscesses,the role of PCD,recurrence rates and the controversies regarding the need for elective surgery.Conservative treatment with antibiotics alone is effective in a majority of cases with a role for PCD in large safely accessible abscesses.Variable recurrence rates have been reported in literature and elective surgery should be planned for selected groups of patients. | Soni Soumian Sudeep Thomas Prasoon P Mohan Nadia Khan Zeeshan Khan Tirumala Raju | 2008 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2008，14，47： | 1 |
