1Energy Dissipation and Transport in Nanoscale Devices显示文摘Understanding energy dissipation and transport in nanoscale structures is of great importance for the design of energy-efficient circuits and energy-conversion systems.This is also a rich domain for fundamental discoveries at the intersection of electron,lattice(phonon),and optical(photon)interactions.This review presents recent progress in understanding and manipulation of energy dissipation and transport in nanoscale solid-state structures.First,the landscape of power usage from nanoscale transistors(~10^(-8) W)to massive data centers(~10^(-9) W)is surveyed.Then,focus is given to energy dissipation in nanoscale circuits,silicon transistors,carbon nanostructures,and semiconductor nanowires.Concepts of steady-state and transient thermal transport are also reviewed in the context of nanoscale devices with sub-nanosecond switching times.Finally,recent directions regarding energy transport are reviewed,including electrical and thermal conductivity of nanostructures,thermal rectification,and the role of ubiquitous material interfaces.Eric Pop 2010Nano Research2010,3,3:31
2Contamination by Organochlorine Pesticides in the Estuaries of Southeast China显示文摘Persistent organic pollutants(POPs) such as organochlorine pesticides are of global concern due to their widespread occurrence and persistence. This paper reports recent research studying the distribution and fate of organochlorine pesticides in the Jiulong River, the Minjiang River and the Pearl River estuaries in Southeast China. Eighteen organochlorine pesticides were extracted from water, pore water and sediment samples, followed by analysis by GC ECD. The results showed that the contamination levels were similar in these three estuaries. The levels of the total organochlorine pesticides in porewater were significantly higher than those in surface water, due to the high affinity of these hydrophobic compounds for sediment phase. Among the hexachlorocyclohexane(HCH) compounds, β HCH was found to be the most important isomer. The analysis of 1,1,1 trichloro 2,2 bis chlorophenyl ethane(DDT) and its metabolites showed that 1,1 dichloro 2[ o chlorophenyl] 2[ p chlorophenyl] ethylene(DDE) was dominant in the group.Z. L. 3Unsteady MHD flow and heat transfer near stagnation point over a stretching/shrinking sheet in porous medium filled with a nanofluid显示文摘In this article, the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) stagnation point flow and heat transfer of a nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet is investigated numerically. The similarity solution is used to reduce the governing system of partial differential equations to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations which are then solved numerically using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method with shooting technique. The ambient fluid velocity, stretching/shrinking velocity of sheet, and the wall temperature are assumed to vary linearly with the distance from the stagnation point. To investigate the influence of various pertinent parameters, graphical results for the local Nusselt number, the skin friction coefficient,velocity profile, and temperature profile are presented for different values of the governing parameters for three types of nanoparticles, namely copper, alumina, and titania in the water-based fluid. It is found that the dual solution exists for the decelerating flow. Numerical results show that the extent of the dual solution domain increases with the increases of velocity ratio, magnetic parameter, and permeability parameter whereas it remains constant as the value of solid volume fraction of nanoparticles changes. 4Extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma:Current status of endoscopic approach and additional therapies显示文摘The prognosis of patients with advanced or unresectable extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is poor.More than 50%of patients with jaundice are inoperable at the time of first diagnosis.Endoscopic treatment in patients with obstructive jaundice ensures bile duct drainage in preoperative or palliative settings.Relief of symptoms(pain,pruritus,jaundice)and improvement in quality of life are the aims of palliative therapy.Stent implantation by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is generally preferred for long-term palliation.There is a vast variety of plastic and metal stents,covered or uncovered.The stent choice depends on the expected length of survival,quality of life,costs and physician expertise.This review will provide the framework for the endoscopic minimally invasive therapy in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.Moreover,additional therapies,such as brachytherapy,photodynamic therapy,radiofrequency ablation,chemotherapy,molecular-targeted therapy and/or immunotherapy by the endoscopic approach,are the nonsurgical methods associated with survival improvement rate and/or local symptom palliation.Alina Ioana Tantau Alina Mandrutiu Anamaria Pop Roxana Delia Zaharie Dana Crisan Carmen Monica Preda Marcel Tantau Voicu Mercea 2021World Journal of Hepatology2021,13,2:3
5Electrochemical detection and degradation of ibuprofen from water on multi-walled carbon nanotubes-epoxy composite electrode显示文摘This work describes the electrochemical behaviour of ibuprofen on two types of multi-walled carbon nanotubes based composite electrodes,i.e.,multi-walled carbon nanotubes-epoxy(MWCNT) and silver-modified zeolite-multi-walled carbon nanotubes-epoxy(AgZMWCNT) composites electrodes.The composite electrodes were obtained using two-roll mill procedure.SEM images of surfaces of the composites revealed a homogeneous distribution of the composite components within the epoxy matrix.AgZMWCNT composite electrode exhibited the better electrical conductivity and larger electroactive surface area.The electrochemical determination of ibuprofen(IBP) was achieved using AgZMWCNT by cyclic voltammetry,differential-pulsed voltammetry,square-wave voltammetry and chronoamperometry.The IBP degradation occurred on both composite electrodes under controlled electrolysis at 1.2 and 1.75 V vs.Ag/AgCl,and IBP concentration was determined comparatively by differential-pulsed voltammetry,under optimized conditions using AgZMWCNT electrode and UV-Vis spectrophotometry methods to determine the IBP degradation performance for each electrode.AgZMWCNT electrode exhibited a dual character allowing a double application in IBP degradation process and its control.Sorina Motoc Adriana Remes Aniela Pop Florica Manea Joop Schoonman 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,4:2

7Influence of Genista Tinctoria L or Methylparaben on Subchronic Toxicity of Bisphenol A in Rats显示文摘Objective To evaluate the influence of an extract of Genista tinctoria L. herba(GT) or methylparaben(MP) on histopathological changes and 2 biomarkers of oxidative stress in rats subchronicly exposed to bisphenol A(BPA). Methods Adult female Wistar rats were orally exposed for 90 d to BPA(50 mg/kg), BPA+GT(35 mg isoflavones/kg) or BPA+MP(250 mg/kg). Plasma and tissue samples were taken from liver, kidney, thyroid, uterus, ovary, and mammary gland after 30, 60, and 90 d of exposure respectively. Lipid peroxidation and in vivo hydroxyl radical production were evaluated by histological analysis along with malondialdehyde and 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid detection. Results The severity of histopathological changes in liver and kidneys was lower after GT treatment than after BPA or BPA+MP treatment. A minimal thyroid receptor antagonist effect was only observed after BPA+MP treatment. The abnormal folliculogenesis increased in a time-dependent manner, and the number of corpus luteum decreased. No significant histological alterations were found in the uterus. The mammary gland displayed specific estrogen stimulation changes at all periods. Both MP and GT revealed antioxidant properties reducing lipid peroxidation and BPA-induced hydroxyl radical generation. Conclusion GT L. extract ameliorates the toxic effects of BPA and is proved to have antioxidant potential and antitoxic effect.
