3Recent Advances on the Technologies to Increase Fertilizer Use Efficiency显示文摘To increase fertilizer use efficiency (FUE) and to minimize its negative impact on environment have been the focal points in the world for a long time. It is very important to increase FUE in China for its relatively low FUE and serious losses of nutrients. Recent advances of the technologies to increase FUE are reviewed in this article. These include site-specific and real-time nitrogen management, non-destructive quick test of the nitrogen status of plants, new types of slow release and controlled release fertilizers, site-specific nutrient management, and use of urease inhibitor and nitrification inhibitor to decrease nitrogen losses. 5Influence of temperature and solution composition on the formation of calcium sulfates显示文摘Calcium sulfates (anhydrite and hydrates) were synthesized by mixing CaCl 2 and Na 2 SO 4 solutions at room temperature followed by aging the resulting slurries at elevated temperatures. The variation of the morphology and structure of the calcium sulfates with aging temperature was investigated. Experimental results indicated that CaSO 4 ·2H 2 O plates, CaSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O whiskers and CaSO 4 spindles were formed at ≤100 °C, 130–160 °C and ≥170 °C, respectively. The formation and conversion of the calcium sulfates were discussed on the basis of characterization of the products and chemical analysis of the solutions. 6Circular RNA circ-LDLRAD3 as a biomarker in diagnosis of pancreatic cancer显示文摘AIM To analyze the diagnostic value of a circular RNA(circR NA), circ-LDLRAD3, in pancreatic cancer.METHODS Expression levels of circ-LDLRAD3 were tested in both cells and clinical samples; the latter included 30 paired pancreatic cancer tissues and adjacent non-tumorous tissues, 31 plasma samples from patients with pancreatic cancer, and 31 plasma samples from healthy volunteers. Real-time quantitative reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR) was performed to measure expression levels of circ-LDLRAD3 in cells and clinical samples; then, the relationship between clinicopathological factors of patient samples and expression of circ-LDLRAD3 in pancreatic cancer was analyzed. The diagnostic value of circ-LDLRAD3 was verified by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis.RESULTS Circ-LDLRAD3 was up-regulated in pancreatic cancer cell lines(P < 0.01), pancreatic cancer tissues(P < 0.01), and plasma samples from patients with pancreatic cancer(P < 0.01). High expression of circLDLRAD3 was significantly associated with venous invasion, lymphatic invasion, and metastasis. 8Antiviral activities against influenza virus(FM1) of bioactive fractions and representative compounds extracted from Banlangen(Radix Isatidis)显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the antiviral activities of clemastanin B(CB), epigoitrin, phenylpropanoids portion(PEP) and the mixture of phenylpropanoids, alkaloids and organic acid fractions(PEP+ALK+OA)from Banlangen(Radix Isatidis).METHODS: The experiment consisted of four parts:therapeutic action, prophylaxsis action, inhibition of virus attachment, and direct virucidal action. Cytopathic effect(CPE) and 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium(MTT) were used to assess antiviral activity.RESULTS: CB, epigoitrin, PEP and PEP + ALK + OA fractions from Banlangen(Radix Isatidis) extract significantly increased the viability of MDCK cells pre-infected with the virus compared with the virus control group in all the dilutions(P < 0.01). Pretreated with either pure compounds or chemical frac-tions of Banlangen(Radix Isatidis) extract in all the dilutions significantly improved the viability of MDCK cells(P < 0.01). The inhibition of virus absorption to the host cells by CB, epigoitrin and PEP was in a dose dependent manner.CONCLUSION: CB, epigoitrin, PEP and PEP+ALK+OA exert their anti-influenza activity by inhibiting the virus multiplication, prophylaxsis and blocking the virus attachment. The primary mode of action of PEP and PEP + ALK + OA is the inhibition of virus replication. 10Effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca^(2+)-ATPase mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction (CQCQD) on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis (AP) rats. METHODS: Thirty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into control group, AP group and CQCQD group (n = 3 × 10). The rats in the CQCQD group were intragastrically administered with CQCQD (10 mL/kg every 2 h) after induction of AP by intraperitoneal injection of caerulein (50 μg/kg.h × 5) within 4 h. At 6 h after the induction of AP model, pancreatic tissues were collected for the pathological observation, mRNA extraction for determination of SERCA1 and SERCA2 mRNA expression or pancreatic acinar cell isolation for measurement of fluorescence intensity (FI) of intracellular calcium ion concentration [Ca2+]i. RESULTS: There was no expression of pancreatic SERCA1 mRNA in the control group and the AP group. The expression of pancreatic SERCA2 mRNA in the AP group was down-regulated (expression ratio = 0.536; P = 0.001) compared with the control group, while that in the CQCQD group was up-regulated (expression ratio= 2.00; P = 0.012) compared with AP group. The FI of intracellular [Ca2+] of pancreatic acinar cells in the AP group (138.2 ± 23.1) was higher than the C group (111.0 ± 18.4) and the CQCQD group (118.7 ± 15.2 ) (P < 0.05) and the pancreatic pathological score in the CQCQD group was lower than that in the AP group (5.7 ± 1.9 vs 9.2 ± 2.7, P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: CQCQD can up-regulate the expression of SERCA2 mRNA of pancreatic tissues, reduce intracellular calcium overload and relieve pancreatic tissue lesions.Ping Xue Li-Hui Deng Zhao-Da Zhang Xiao-Nan Yang Qing Xia Da-Kai Xiang Lei Huang Mei-Hua Wan 2008World Journal of Gastroenterology2008,14,15:20
11Proximal gastrectomy with jejunal interposition and TGRY anastomosis for proximal gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To compare the short-term outcomes of patients who underwent proximal gastrectomy with jejunal interposition(PGJI) with those undergoing total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y anastomosis(TGRY).METHODS: From January 2009 to January 2011, thirty-five patients underwent PGJI, and forty-one patients underwent TGRY. The surgical efficacy and short-term follow-up outcomes were compared between the two groups.RESULTS: There were no differences in the demographic and clinicopathological characteristics. The mean operation duration and postoperative hospital stay in the PGJI group were statistically longer than those in the TGRY group(P = 0.00). No anastomosis leakage was observed in two groups. No statistically significant difference was found in endoscopic findings, Visick grade or serum albumin level. The single-meal food intake in the PGJI group was more than that in the TGRY group(P = 0.00). The PG group showed significantly better hemoglobin levels in the second year(P = 0.02). 12Effect of endostar combined with cisplatin on expression of VEGF and Sema3A of Lewis lung cancer rats显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effect of endostar(ED) combined with cisplatin(DDP) on model of C57BL/6 rats,and to further investigate the inhibiting mechanism of endostar from tumor angiogenesis.Methods:Lewis lung cancer cells were inoculated in C57BL/6 mouse,then the mouse were randomized into control group(group A),ED(group B),DDP(group C) and ED/DDP (group D).They were treated according to the plan.And the expressions of VEGF and Sema3A were evaluated by immunhistochemisty.Results:The weight of tumor increased in group A and B.It was decreased in group C and D.The tumor volume was increased in all the 4 groups. The VEGF expression of group D was obviously lower than the other group 3,but the Sema3A expressed of group D was significantly strengthener than the other group 3.The VEGF expression of group B and group D were obviously low especially in the 4th-8th days.Pearson correlated analysis showed that the expression VEGF and Sema3A were negatively correlated(r=-0.72, P<0.05).Conclusions:ED combined with DDP could control the tumor growth effectively,and avoid weight loss.ED could reduce VEGF expression,and enhance Sema3A expression.Tumor vessel presents transient normalization.It is easy for DDP perfusion,and to kill tumor cells.Ping Feng Zhi-Lin Zhang Zhi-Hua Zhang Xiu-Long Zhang Feng Xiang Jian-Hua Tang Bao-Li Xiang 2013Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013,6,1:14

15Isolation and identification of bacteria responsible for simultaneous anaerobic ammonium and sulfate removal显示文摘Sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation is a novel biological reaction,in which ammonium is oxidized with sulfate as the electron acceptor under anoxic conditions.Ammonium and sulfate are cosmopolitan chemical species which are an integral part of the global nitrogen and sulfur cycles.A detailed exploration of sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation is quite practical.In this work,a bacterial strain named ASR has been isolated from an anaerobic ammonia and sulfate removing reactor working under steady-state.On the basis of electron microscopy,physiological tests and 16S rDNA phylogenetic sequence analysis,the strain ASR is found to be related to Bacillus benzoevorans.According to the biological carbon source utilization test,the strain ASR could use many carbon sources.Its optimum pH value and temperature were 8.5 and 30 °C,respectively.The test proves that the strain ASR is able to use sulfate to oxidize ammonia anaerobically.The maximum ammonia and sulfate removal rates were 44.4% and 40.0%,respectively.The present study provided biological evidence for the confirmation and development of sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation and brought new insights into the global nitrogen and sulfur cycles.Cai, Jing Jiang, Jian Xiang Zheng, Ping 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,3:12
16Solution structure of the RNA recognition domain of METTL3-METTL14 N^6-methyladenosine methyltransferase显示文摘N^6-methyladenosine(m6A),a ubiquitous RNA modification,is installed by METTL3-METTL14 complex.The structure of the heterodimeric complex between the methyltransferase domains(MTDs)of METTL3 and METTL14 has been previously determined.However,the MTDs alone possess no enzymatic activity.Here we present the solution structure for the zinc finger domain(ZFD)of METTL3,the inclusion of which fulfills the methyltransferase activity of METTL3-METTL14.We show that the ZFD specifically binds to an RNA containing 5'-GGACU-3'consensus sequence,but does not to one without.The ZFD thus serves as the target recognition domain,a structural feature previously shown for DNA methyltransferases,and cooperates with the MTDs of METTL3-METTL14 for catalysis.However,the interaction between the ZFD and the specific RNA is extremely weak,with the binding affinity at several hundred micromolar under physiological conditions.The ZFD contains two CCCH-type zinc fingers connected by an anti-parallel P-sheet.Mutational analysis and NMR titrations have mapped the functional interface to a contiguous surface.As a division of labor,the RNA-binding interface comprises basic residues from zinc finger 1 and hydrophobic residues fromβ-sheet and zinc finger 2.Further we show that the linker between the ZFD and MTD of METTL3 is flexible but partially folded,which may permit the cooperation between the two domains during catalysis.Together,the structural characterization of METTL3 ZFD paves the way to elucidate the atomic details of the entire process of RNA m6A modification.Jinbo Huang Xu Dong Zhou Gong Ling-Yun Qin Shuai Yang Yue-Ling Zhu Xiang Wang Delin Zhang Tingting Zou Ping Yin Chun Tang 2019Protein & Cell2019,10,4:11
17Enhanced therapeutic effects of combined chemotherapeutic drugs and midkine antisense oligonucleotides for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the effect of combined antisense oligonucleotides targeting midkine (MK-AS) and chemotherapeutic drugs [cisplatin(DDP), 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and adriamycin (ADM)] on inhibition of HepG2 cell proliferation, and to analyze the efficacy of MK-AS used in combined ADM in in situ human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) model. METHODS: HepG2 cells were treated with MK-AS and/or chemotherapeutic drugs mediated by Lipofectin, and cell growth activity was determined by MTS assay. An in situ HCC model was used in this experiment. MK- AS, ADM and MK-AS + ADM were given intravenously for 20 d, respectively. The animal body weight and their tumor weight were measured to assess the effect of the combined therapy in vivo. RESULTS: Combined treatment with MK-AS reduced the IC50 of DDP, 5-FU and ADM in HepG2 cells. MK-AS significantly increased the inhibition rate of DDP, 5-FU and ADM. Additionally, synergism (Q 1.15) occurred at a lower concentration of ADM, 5-FU and DDP with combined MK-AS. Combined treatment with MK-AS and ADM resulted in the more growth inhibition on in situ human HCC model compared with treatment with chemotherapeutic drugs alone. 19Underwater image enhancement based on red channel weighted compensation and gamma correction model显示文摘Due to the special characteristics of light in water,the information of the red channel is seriously attenuated in collected image.This causes other colors to dominate the image.This paper proposes an underwater image enhancement algorithm based on red channel weighted compensation and gamma correction model.Firstly,by analyzing the attenuation characteristics of RGB channels,the intensity and the edge information of red channel are compensated by weighting the attenuation coefficient ratio between different channels to correct the chromaticity.Then the gamma correction model is employed to stretch the intensity range to enhance the contrast which makes the image look clearer.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can correct the color cast effect and improve the contrast by nearly 2 times for the underwater images with too much red component attenuation.Wending Xiang Ping Yang Shuai Wang Bing Xu Hui Liu 2018Opto-Electronic Advances2018,1,10:10
20A multi-locus backbone tree for Pestalotiopsis, with a polyphasic characterization of 14 new species显示文摘Pestalotiopsis is a taxonomically confused,pathogenic and chemically creative genus requiring a critical reexamination using a multi-gene phylogeny based on ex-type and ex-epitype cultures.In this study 40 isolates of Pestalotiopsis,comprised of 28 strains collected from living and dead plant material of various host plants from China were studied by means of morphology and analysis of ITS,β–tubulin and tef1 gene sequence data.Based on molecular and morphological data we describe 14 new species(Pestalotiopsis asiatica,P.chinensis,P.chrysea,P.clavata,P.diversiseta,P.ellipsospora,P.inflexa,P.intermedia,P.linearis,P.rosea,P.saprophyta,P.umberspora,P.unicolor and P.verruculosa)and three species are epitypified(P.adusta,P.clavispora and P.foedans).Of the 10 gene regions(ACT,β-tubulin,CAL,GPDH,GS,ITS,LSU,RPB 1,SSU and tef1)utilized to resolve cryptic Pestalotiopsis species,ITS,β–tubulin and tef1 proved to be the better markers.The other gene regions were less useful due to poor success in PCR amplification and/or in their ability to resolve species boundaries.As a single gene tef1 met the requirements for an ideal candidate and functions well for species delimitation due to its better species resolution and PCR success.Althoughβ-tubulin showed fairly good differences among species,a combination of ITS,β-tubulin and tef1 gene data gave the best resolution as compared to single gene analysis.This work provides a backbone tree for 22 ex-type/epitypified species of Pestalotiopsis and can be used in future studies of the genus.Sajeewa S.N.Maharachchikumbura Liang Dong Guo Lei Cai Ekachai Chukeatirote Wen Ping Wu Xiang Sun Pedro W.Crous D.Jayarama Bhat Eric H.C.McKenzie Ali H.Bahkali Kevin D.Hyde 2012Fungal Diversity2012,,5:9
