1Development of a national VNIR soil-spectral library for soil classification and prediction of organic matter concentrations显示文摘Soil visible-near infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(vis-NIR DRS)has become an important area of research in the fields of remote and proximal soil sensing.The technique is considered to be particularly useful for acquiring data for soil digital mapping,precision agriculture and soil survey.In this study,1581 soil samples were collected from 14 provinces in China,including Tibet,Xinjiang,Heilongjiang,and Hainan.The samples represent 16 soil groups of the Genetic Soil Classification of China.After air-drying and sieving,the diffuse reflectance spectra of the samples were measured under laboratory conditions in the range between 350 and 2500 nm using a portable vis-NIR spectrometer.All the soil spectra were smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay method with first derivatives before performing multivariate data analyses.The spectra were compressed using principal components analysis and the fuzzy k-means method was used to calculate the optimal soil spectral classification.The scores of the principal component analyses were classified into five clusters that describe the mineral and organic composition of the soils.The results on the classification of the spectra are comparable to the results of other similar research.Spectroscopic predictions of soil organic matter concentrations used a combination of the soil spectral classification with multivariate calibration using partial least squares regression(PLSR).This combination significantly improved the predictions of soil organic matter(R2=0.899;RPD=3.158)compared with using PLSR alone(R2=0.697;RPD=1.817).SHI Zhou WANG QianLong PENG Jie JI WenJun LIU HuanJun LI Xi Raphael A VISCARRA ROSSEL 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,7:32

4Elevated serum alpha fetoprotein levels promote pathological progression of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate the biological role of alpha fetoprotein (AFP) and its clinical signif icance in carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).METHODS:Clinical analysis of HCC patients and im-munohistochemical examination were conducted to evaluate the relationship between serum AFP level and patient mortality. Confocal microscopy,Western blotting, dimethylthiahzolyl-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide,Cell Counting Kit-8 assays and flow cytometry were performed to explore the possible mechanism.RESULTS: Among the 160 HCC patients enrolled in this study,130 patients survived 2 years (81.25%),with a survival rate of 86.8% in AFP < 2 0 μg/L group,88.9% in AFP 20-250 μg/L group,and 69.6% in AFP > 250 μg/L group, demonstrating a higher mortality rate in HCC patients with higher AFP levels. Surgical treatment was benef icial only in patients with low AFP levels.The mortality rate of HCC patients with high AFP levels who were treated surgically was apparently higher than those treated with conservative management.The results of immunohistochemistry showed that AFP and AFP receptor were merely expressed in tissues of HCC patients with positive serum AFP.Consistently,in vitro analysis showed that AFP and AFPS were expressed in HepG2 but not in HLE cells. AFP showed a capability to promote cell growth,and this was more apparent in HepG2 cells,in which the proliferation was increased by 3.5 folds. 5Biofeedback-guided pelvic floor exercise therapy for obstructive defecation: An effective alternative显示文摘AIM: To compare biofeedback-guided pelvic floor exercise therapy(BFT) with the use of oral polyethylene glycol(PEG) for the treatment of obstructive defecation.METHODS: A total of 88 subjects were assigned to treatment with either BFT(n = 44) or oral PEG(n = 44). Constipation symptoms(including difficult evacuation, hard stool, digitation necessity, incomplete emptying sensation, laxative dependence, perianal pain at defecation, and constipation satisfaction), Wexner Scores, and quality of life scores were assessed after 1, 3, and 6 mo.RESULTS: At the 6 mo follow-up, the symptoms of the BFT group patients showed significantly greater improvements compared with the PEG group regarding difficult evacuation, hard stools, digitation necessity, laxative dependence, perianal pain at defecation, constipation satisfaction, Wexner Constipation Score, and quality of life score(P < 0.05). The quality of life score of the BFT group at the final follow-up time(6 mo) was 80 ± 2.2. 6Pharmacokinetics of the prototype and hydrolyzed carboxylic forms of ginkgolides A, B, and K administered as a ginkgo diterpene lactones meglumine injection in beagle dogs显示文摘Ginkgo diterpene lactones meglumine injection(GDLI)is a commercially available product used for neuroprotection.However,the pharmacokinetic properties of the prototypes and hydrolyzed carboxylic forms of the primary components in GDLI,i.e.,ginkgolide A(GA),ginkgolide B(GB),and ginkgolide K(GK),have never been fully evaluated in beagle dogs.In this work,a simple,sensitive,and reliable method based on ultra-fast liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UFLC-MS/MS)was developed,and the prototypes and total amounts of GA,GB,and GK were determined in beagle dog plasma.The plasma concentrations of the hydrolyzed carboxylic forms were calculated by subtracting the prototype concentrations from the total lactone concentrations.For the first time,the pharmacokinetics of GA,GB,and GK were fully assessed in three forms,i.e.,the prototypes,the hydrolyzed carboxylic forms,and the total amounts,after intravenous administration of GDLI in beagle dogs.It was shown that ginkgolides primarily existed in the hydrolyzed form in plasma,and the ratio of hydrolysates to prototype forms of GA and GB decreased gradually to a homeostatic ratio.All of the three forms of the three ginkgolides showed linear exposure of AUC to the dosages.GA,GB,and GK showed a constant half-life approximately 2.7,3.4,and 1.2 h,respectively,which were consistent for the forms at three dose levels(0.3,1.0,and 3.0 mg·kg^(-1))and after a consecutive injection of GDLI for 7 days(1.0 mg·kg^(-1)).WANG Shu-Yao A Ji-Ye FEI Fei GENG Jian-Liang PENG Ying OUYANG Bing-Chen WANG Pei JIN Xiao-Liang ZHAO Yu-Qing WANG Jian-Kun GENG Ting LI Yan-Jing HUA NG Wen-Zhe WANG Zhen-Zhong XIAO Wei WANG Guang-Ji 2017Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2017,15,10:9

11Consensus on the digestive endoscopic tunnel technique显示文摘With the digestive endoscopic tunnel technique(DETT), many diseases that previously would have been treated by surgery are now endoscopically curable by establishing a submucosal tunnel between the mucosa and muscularis propria(MP). Through the tunnel, endoscopic diagnosis or treatment is performed for lesions in the mucosa, in the MP, and even outside the gastrointestinal(GI) tract.At present, the tunnel technique application range covers the following:(1)Treatment of lesions originating from the mucosal layer, e.g., endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection for oesophageal large or circular early-stage cancer or precancerosis;(2) treatment of lesions from the MP layer, per-oral endoscopic myotomy, submucosal tunnelling endoscopic resection, etc.; and(3) diagnosis and treatment of lesions outside the GI tract, such as resection of lymph nodes and benign tumour excision in the mediastinum or abdominal cavity. With the increasing number of DETTs performed worldwide, endoscopic tunnel therapeutics, which is based on DETT, has been gradually developed and optimized. However, there is not yet an expert consensus on DETT to regulate its indications, contraindications, surgical procedure, and postoperative treatment.The International DETT Alliance signed up this consensus to standardize the procedures of DETT. 13Ribosome Biogenesis Factor Bmsl-like Is Essential for Liver Development in Zebrafish显示文摘Ribosome biogenesis in the nucleolus requires numerous nucleolar proteins and small non-coding RNAs.Among them is ribosome biogenesis factor Bmsl,which is highly conserved from yeast to human.In yeast,Bmsl initiates ribosome biogenesis through recruiting Rcll to pre-ribosomes.However,little is known about the biological function of Bmsl in vertebrates.Here we report that Bmsl plays an essential role in zebrafish liver development.We identified a zebrafish bms1l^(sq163) mutant which carries a T to A mutation in the gene bmsl-like(bms1l).This mutation results in L^(152) to Q^(152) substitution in a GTPase motif in Bmsll.Surprisingly,bmsll^(sq163) mutation confers hypoplasia specifically in the liver,exocrine pancreas and intestine after 3 days post-fertilization(dpf).Consistent with the bmsll^(sq163) mutant phenotypes,whole-mount in situ hybridization(WISH) on wild type embryos showed that bmsll transcripts are abundant in the entire digestive tract and its accessory organs.Immunostaining for phospho-Histone 3(P-H3) and TUNEL assay revealed that impairment of hepatoblast proliferation rather than cell apoptosis is one of the consequences of bms1l^(sq163) giving rise to an under-developed liver.Therefore,our findings demonstrate that Bmsll is necessary for zebrafish liver development.Yong Wanga,Yue Luoa,Yunhan Hong(b,),Jinrong Peng(a,),Lijan Lo(a,b,) a College of Animal Sciences,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310058,China b Department of Biological Sciences,National University of Singapore,Science Drive 4,Singapore 117543,Singapore 2012Journal of Genetics and Genomics2012,39,9:4
14Pediatric Wilson disease presenting as acute liver failure:Prognostic indices显示文摘BACKGROUND Acute liver failure(ALF)can be a primary presentation of Wilson disease(WD).Mortality rates are high in WD with ALF(WDALF).Predictions of mortality in WDALF vary by model and are sometimes contradictory,perhaps because few patients are studied or WD diagnoses are questionable.AIM To determine the outcomes among well-documented WDALF patients and assess mortality model performance in this cohort.METHODS We reviewed the medical records of our pediatric WDALF patients(n=41 over 6-years-old,single-center retrospective study)and compared seven prognostic models(King’s College Hospital Criteria,model for end-stage liver disease/pediatric end-stage liver disease scoring systems,Liver Injury Unit[LIU]using prothrombin time[PT]or international normalized ratio[INR],admission LIU using PT or INR,and Devarbhavi model)with one another.RESULTS Among the 41 Han Chinese patients with ALF,WD was established by demonstrating ATP7B variants in 36.In 5 others,Kayser-Fleischer rings and Coombs-negative hemolytic anemia permitted diagnosis.Three died during hospitalization and three underwent liver transplantation(LT)within 1 mo of presentation and survived(7.3%each);35(85.4%)survived without LT when given enteral D-penicillamine and zinc-salt therapy with or without urgent plasmapheresis.Parameters significantly correlated with mortality included encephalopathy,coagulopathy,and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase activity,bilirubin,ammonia,and serum sodium levels.Area under the receiver operating curves varied among seven prognostic models from 0.981 to 0.748 with positive predictive values from 0.214 to 0.429.CONCLUSION WDALF children can survive and recover without LT when given D-penicillamine and Zn with or without plasmapheresis,even after enlisting for LT.Wei-Yuan Fang Kuerbanjiang Abuduxikuer Peng Shi Yi-Ling Qiu Jing Zhao Yu-Chuan Li Xue-Yuan Zhang Neng-Li Wang Xin-Bao Xie Yi Lu A S Knisely Jian-She Wang 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,14:4
15Emergence,Mating and Oviposition Behavior of the Chinese Population in Pink Bollworm,Pectinophora gossypiella (Lepidoptera:Gelechiidae)显示文摘The pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is one of the most serious lepidopteran pests of cotton in the world. This pest invaded China at the onset of the 20th century, possibly through repeated introductions from several different locations worldwide. In this paper, we describe different behavioral parameters of this Hubei P. gossypiella strain under laboratory and field conditions. Using an infra-red video recorder, we observed (nocturnal) emergence, flight and mating activities, and oviposition patterns. Moth emergence started from 13:00 and continued up till 23:00. Under laboratory and field conditions, 2-7-d-old moths initiated flight around sunset, peaked 50 min later and gradually declined until 04:00. Although mating started immediately after darkness (i.e., 20:00), mating behavior was most intense from 23:00 to 03:40. Oviposition also showed distinct time-related patterns, with approx. 70% eggs laid between 20:00 and 22:00. In the studies of the relationship between flight and oviposition, the duration of flight had an effect on oviposition. The 1-d-old moths flown for 6 and 12 h began oviposition earlier than the unflown ones, and the 6-h flight had no effect on the egg production. However, the longevity of the flown moths was shortened after flight. In addition, the peaks of oviposition for the flown moths were advanced 2-3 d. The age when the moths flied affected the oviposition of adult moths. The earlier the moths started to fly after emergence, the greater the fecundity they had. The average egg production of moths flown for 24 h was less than that of non-flown moths which were of the same age. Both flight and delay in mating could advance the oviposition peak. 17Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Calculated β Value of a Tetrahedral Zinc (II) Complex——Zn(2-NH_2py)_2Br_2显示文摘A new zinc(II) complex, Zn(2-NH2py)2Br2 (py=pyridine), has been synthesized, and its molecular structure has been confirmed by IR, elemental analysis and -ray crystal structure analysis. Its space group is P21/n with Mr=413.43 (C10H12Br2N4Zn), a=7.435(2), b=12.865(3), c=14.186(4)? b=94.08(2)? V=1353.5(5) 3, Z=4, Dc=2.029 g/cm3, F(000)=328, ?2.378mm-1, R=0.0283, wR=0.0501. The total observed reflections with I≥2?I) were 5314, of which the independent reflections were 3106. The complex structure contains a distorted tetrahedron formed by four atoms coordinated to zinc atom, namely two bromide atoms and two nitrogen atoms. The two ZnBr bond lengths within one molecule, 2.3763(6) and 2.4002(5)? respectively, are not equal; and so are the two ZnN bond lengths, which are 2.031(2) and 2.044(2)?respectively. The calculation results using PM3 method through MOPAC software package in Chem 3D show that its first molecular hyperpolarizability b value is 5.210-30esu, which is comparable with that of p-nitroaniline. 20A core-shell structured COYID-19 mRNA vaccine with favorable biodistribution pattern and promising immunity显示文摘Although inoculation of COVID-19 vaccines has rolled out globally,there is still a critical need for safe and effective vaccines to ensure fair and equitable supply for all countries.Here,we report on the development of a highly efficacious mRNA vaccine,SW0123 that is composed of sequence-modified mRNA encoding the full-length SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein packaged in core-shell structured lipopolyplex(LPP)nanoparticles.SWOT 23 is easy to produce using a large-scale microfluidics-based apparatus.The unique core-shell structured nanoparticle facilitates vaccine uptake and demonstrates a high colloidal stability,and a desirable biodistribution pattern with low liver targeting effect upon intramuscular administration.Extensive evaluations in mice and nonhuman primates revealed strong immunogenicity of SW0123,represented by induction of Th1-polarized T cell responses and high levels of antibodies that were capable of neutralizing not only the wild-type SARS-CoV-2,but also a panel of variants including D614G and N501Y variants.In addition,SW0123 conferred effective protection in both mice and non-human primates upon SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Taken together,SW0123 is a promising vaccine candidate that holds prospects for further evaluation in humans.Ren Yang Yao Deng Baoying Huang Lei Huang Ang Lin Yuhua Li Wenling Wang Jingjing Liu Shuaiyao Lu Zhenzhen Zhan Yufei Wang Ruhan A Wen Wang Peihua Niu Li Zhao Shiqiang Li Xiaopin Ma Luyao Zhang Yujian Zhang Weiguo Yao Xingjie Liang Jincun Zhao Zhongmin Liu Xiaozhong Peng Hangwen Li Wenjie Tan 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:3
