| 1 | Efficacy of rituximab in gastric diffuse large B cell lymphoma patients显示文摘AIM:To evaluate retrospectively the efficacy of rituximab plus chemotherapy in gastric diffuse large B cell lymphoma(DLBCL).METHODS:Sixty patients(median age:58 years)with histologically confirmed gastric DLBCL treated at four Italian institutions between 2000 and 2007,were included in this analysis.Patients were selected by stage (Ⅰ-Ⅳ,Lugano staging system),European Cooperative Oncology Group performance status(0-2)and treatment strategies.Treatment strategies were chemotherapy alone(group A,n=30)[scheduled as cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine and prednisone (CHOP)and CHOP-like],and chemotherapy combined with rituximab(group B,n=30).The primary end point of the study was complete response(CR)rate;the secondary end points were disease-free survival (DFS)at 5 years and overall survival(OS).RESULTS:Median follow-up was 62 mo(range:31102 mo).We observed a significant difference between the two groups(A vs B)in terms of CR[76.6%(23/30) vs 100%,P=0.04)and DFS at 5 years[73.3%(22/30) vs 100%,P=0.03).To date,19 group A(63.3%) patients are alive and 11 have died,while all group B patients are alive.No significant differences in toxicity were observed between the two groups.CONCLUSION:Rituximab in combination with chemotherapy improves CR rate,DFS and OS.Further prospective trials are needed to confirm our results. | Davide Leopardo Giuseppe Di Lorenzo Amalia De Renzo Piera Federico Serena Luponio Carlo Buonerba Elide Matano Gerardina Merola Martina Imbimbo Enzo Montesarchio Antonio Rea Maria Carmela Merola Sabino De Placido Giovannella Palmieri | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，20： | 19 |
| 2 | Anxiety,depression,and quality of life in Parkinson's disease:the implications of multidisciplinary treatment显示文摘Anxiety and depression in Parkinson's disease(PD)reduce well-being of the patients.Emotional alterations influence motor skills and cognitive performance;moreover,they contribute significantly and independently to worsen rehabilitative treatment response.We investigated anxiety,depression,and quality of life in PD patients subjected to multidisciplinary rehabilitative training.The self-controlled study included 100 PD patients(49 males and 51 females with the mean age of 64.66 years)admitted to 60 days hospitalization rehabilitative program,between January 2017 and December 2018.Motor,cognitive,linguistic abilities,and functional independence were evaluated at admission(T0 baseline visit)and 60 days after(T1)the multidisciplinary rehabilitation including motor exercises,speech therapies,and cognitive intervention.The multidisciplinary rehabilitation improved functional status in PD patients and exerted its positive effects on mood,motor abilities,autonomy in the activities of daily life,perception of quality of life,cognitive performance and speech skills.Non-motor symptoms may worsen severe disability and reduce quality of life.They are often poorly recognized and inadequately treated.Nonetheless,multidisciplinary rehabilitative training represents an optimal strategy to improve disease management.The study was approved by Istituito di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico(IRCCS)Centro Neurolesi'Bonino-Pulejo'Ethical Committee(approval No.6/2016)in June 2016. | Viviana Lo Buono Rosanna Palmeri Simona De Salvo Matteo Berenati Agata Greco Rosella Ciurleo Chiara Sorbera Vincenzo Cimino Francesco Corallo Placido Bramanti Silvia Marino Giuseppe Di Lorenzo Lilla Bonanno | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021，16，3： | 5 |
| 3 | Role of colonoscopy in the diagnostic work-up of bowel endometriosis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the accuracy of colonoscopy for the prediction of intestinal involvement in deep pelvic endometriosis.METHODS:This prospective observational study was performed between September 2011 and July 2014.Only women with both a clinical and imaging diagnosis of deep pelvic endometriosis were included.The study was approved by the local ethics committee and written informed consent was obtained in all cases.Both colonoscopy and laparoscopy were performed by expert surgeons with a high level of expertise with these techniques.Laparoscopy was performed within4 wk of colonoscopic examination.All hypothetical colonoscopy findings(eccentric wall thickening with or without surface nodularities and polypoid lesions with or without surface nodularities of endometriosis)were compared with laparoscopic and histological findings.We calculated the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predictive value for the presence of colonoscopic findings of intestinal endometriosis.RESULTS:A total of 174 consecutive women aged between 21-42 years with a diagnosis of deep pelvic endometriosis who underwent colonoscopy andsurgical intervention were included in our analysis.In 76 of the women(43.6%),intestinal endometrial implants were found at surgery and histopathological examination.Specifically,38 of the 76 lesions(50%)were characterized by the presence of serosal bowel nodules;28 of the 76 lesions(36.8%)reached the muscularis layer;8 of the 76 lesions(10.5%)reached the submucosa;and 2 of the 76 lesions(2.6%)reached the mucosa.Colonoscopic findings suggestive of intestinal endometriosis were detected in 7 of the174(4%)examinations.Colonoscopy failed to diagnose intestinal endometriosis in 70 of the 76 women(92.1%).A colonoscopic diagnosis of endometriosis was obtained in all cases of mucosal involvement,in 3of 8 cases(37.5%)of submucosal involvement,in no cases of muscularis layer involvement and in 1 of 38cases(2.6%)of serosa involvement.The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive and negative predictive values of colonoscopy for the diagnosis of intestinal endometriosis were 7%,98%,85%and 58%,respectively.CONCLUSION:Being an invasive procedure,colonoscopy should not be routinely performed in the diagnostic work-up of bowel endometriosis. | Marco Milone Antonio Mollo Mario Musella Paola Maietta Loredana Maria Sosa Fernandez Olena Shatalova Alessandro Conforti Gianni Barone Giuseppe De Placido Francesco Milone | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，16： | 5 |
| 4 | Cabazitaxel in castration resistant prostate cancer with brain metastases: 3 case reports显示文摘Prostate cancer is the most common non-cutaneous malignancy for men. The skeleton is the most common metastatic site but, following an improvement in survival, metastases in uncommon sites are being found more frequently in clinical practice, especially brain metastases. Despite the new drugs now available for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer, no clinical evidence exists about their effectiveness on brain metastases. We describe the clinical history of 3 patients treated with cabazitaxel plus whole brain radiotherapy.
