1Hepatitis B and human immunodeficiency virus co-infection显示文摘Hepatitis B and human immunodeficiency virus(HBV and HIV)infection share transmission patterns and risk factors,which explains high prevalence of chronic HBV infection in HIV infected patients.The natural course of HBV disease is altered by the HIV infection with less chance to clear acute HBV infection,faster progression to cirrhosis and higher risk of liver-related death in HIVHBV co-infected patients than in HBV mono-infected ones.HIV infected patients with chronic hepatitis B should be counseled for liver damage and surveillance of chronic hepatitis B should be performed to screen early hepatocellular carcinoma.Noninvasive tools are now available to evaluate liver fibrosis.Isolated hepatitis B core antibodies(anti-HBc)are a good predictive marker of occult HBV infection.Still the prevalence and significance of occult HBV infection is controversial,but its screening may be important in the management of antiretroviral therapy.Vaccination against HBV infection is recommended in non-immune HIV patients.The optimal treatment for almost all HIV-HBV co-infectedpatients should contain tenofovir plus lamivudine or emtricitabine and treatment should not be stopped to avoid HBV reactivation.Long term tenofovir therapy may lead to significant decline in hepatitis B surface Antigen.The emergence of resistant HBV strains may compromise the HBV therapy and vaccine therapy.Bao-Chau Phung Philippe Sogni Odile Launay 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,46:6
2Seasonal and geographical distribution of bacillary dysentery(shigellosis)and associated climate risk factors in Kon Tum Province in Vietnam from 1999 to 2013显示文摘Background:Bacillary dysentery(BD)is an acute bacterial infection of the intestine caused by Shigella spp.,with clinical symptoms ranging from fever to bloody diarrhoea to abdominal cramps to tenesmus.In Vietnam,enteric bacterial pathogens are an important cause of diarrhoea and most cases in children under 5 years of age are due to Shigella strains.The serogroups S.flexneri and S.sonnei are considered to be the most common.The main objective of this study was to,for the first time,assess the seasonal patterns and geographic distribution of BD in Vietnam,and to determine the climate risk factors associated with the incidence of BD in Kon Tum Province,where the highest rate of bacillary dysentery was observed from 1999 to 2013.Methods:The seasonal patterns and geographic distribution of BD was assessed in Vietnam using a seasonaltrend decomposition procedure based on loess.In addition,negative binomial regression models were used to determine the climate risk factors associated with the incidence of BD in Kon Tum Province,from 1999 to 2013.Results:Overall,incidence rates of BD have slightly decreased over time(except for an extremely high incidence in 2012 in the north of Vietnam).The central regions(north/south central coast and central highlands)had relatively high incidence rates,whereas the northwest/east and Red River Delta regions had low incidence rates.Overall,seasonal plots showed a high peak in the mid-rainy reason and a second smaller peak in the early or late rainy season.The incidence rates significantly increased between May and October(“wet season”)across the country.In Kon Tum Province,temperature,humidity,and precipitation were found to be positively associated with the incidence of BD.Conclusions:Our findings provide insights into the seasonal patterns and geographic distribution of BD in Vietnam and its associated climate risk factors in Kon Tum Province.This study may help clinicians and the general public to better understand the timings of outbreaks and therefore equip them with the knowledge to plan better interventions(such as improving water,sanitation,and hygiene conditions)during peak seasons.This can,in turn,prevent or reduce outbreaks and onwards transmission during an outbreak.Hu Suk Lee TTHa Hoang Phuc Pham-Duc Mihye Lee Delia Grace Dac Cam Phung Vu Minh Thuc Hung Nguyen-Viet 2017Infectious Diseases of Poverty2017,6,1:5

4Induction of Root Hair Growth in a Phosphorus-Buffered Culture Solution显示文摘A system to control the release of phosphate in water was successfully established, based on solubility product of [Ca2+]and [PO43-] using tricalcium phosphate as P source in the hydroponic solution, and adding CaCl2 for supplementing extraCa2+. The system, similar to soil solutions, was a P nutrient buffer solution with very low bioavailable P. The buffersolution induced the roots of both monocotyledon and dicotyledon species to grow abundant root hairs, 3 mm inmaximum length. The monocotyledons were corn (Zea mays L.) (var. Yellow Rose), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) (var.Yanzhong 144), Triticale secale L. (var. Jingsong 5), and ryegrass (Lolium rigidum L.) (var. Ruanni), and the dicotyledonswere Arabidopsis thaliana L. (var. Columbia), white clover (Trifolium repens) (var. Kopu), Lotus (Lotus peduncucatusCav. Luliginosus Schkuhr) (var. Grasslands Maku). For these species we proved that the root environment controls theinduction of root hair formation. However, the hydroponic buffer solution failed to induce root hairs on the roots of onion(Allium cepa L.). Other investigators have concluded that corn does not form root hairs in hydroponics, but abundantlong root hairs on corn were induced by this buffer system.
