1The relationships of vitamin D, vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms, and vitamin D supplementation with Parkinson's disease显示文摘In recent years, many studies have investigated the correlations between Parkinson's disease(PD)and vitamin D status, but the conclusion remains elusive. The present review focuses on the associations between PD and serum vitamin D levels by reviewing studies on the associations of PD with serum vitamin D levels and vitamin D receptor(VDR)gene polymorphisms from PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library, and Embase databases. We found that PD patients have lower vitamin D levels than healthy controls and that the vitamin D concentrations are negatively correlated with PD risk and severity.Furthermore, higher vitamin D concentrations are linked to better cognitive function and mood in PD patients.Findings on the relationship between VDR gene polymorphisms and the risk of PD are inconsistent, but the Fokl(C/M)polymorphism is significantly linked with PD.The occurrence of Fokl(CT)gene polymorphism may influence the risk, severity, and cognitive ability of PD patients, while also possibly influencing the effect of Vitamin D3 supplementation in PD patients. In view of the neuroprotective effects of vitamin D and the close association between vitamin D and dopaminergic neurotransmission, interventional prospective studies on vitamin D supplementation in PD patients should be conducted in the future.Lingling Lv Xuling Tan Xinke Peng Rongrong Bai Qile Xiao Ting Zou Jieqiong Tan Hainan Zhang Chunyu Wang 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3:5
22020 Roadmap on gas-involved photo-and electro-catalysis显示文摘Green reactions not only provide us chemical products without any pollution, but also offer us the viable technology to realize difficult tasks in normal conditions.Photo-,photoelectro-,and electrocatalytic reactions are indeed powerful tools to help us to embrace bright future.Especially, some gas-involved reactions are extremely useful to change our life environments from energy systems to liquid fuels and cost-effective products, such as H2 evolution(H2 production),02 evolution/reduction,CO2 reduction,N2 reduction(or N2 fixation) reactions. We can provide fuel cells clean H2 for electric vehicles from H2 evolution reaction(HER),at the same time,we also need highly efficient 02 reduction reaction(ORR) in fuel cells for improving the reaction kinetics. Moreover,we can get the clean oxidant O2 from water through O2 evolution reaction(OER),and carry out some reactions without posing any pollution to reaction systems.Furthermore,we can translate the greenhouse gas CO2 into useful liquid fuels through CO2 reduction reaction(CRR).Last but not the least,we can get ammonia from N2 reduction reaction(NRR),which can decrease energy input compared to the traditional Hubble process. These reactions, such as HER,ORR,OER,CRR and NRR could be realized through solar-,photoelectro-and electro-assisted ways. For them, the catalysts used play crucial roles in determining the efficiency and kinds of products,so we should consider the efficiency of catalysts. However, the cost, synthetic methods of catalysts should also be considered.Nowadays, significant progress has been achieved, however, many challenges still exist, reaction systems, catalysts underlying mechanisms, and so on.As extremely active fields,we should pay attention to them.Under the background,it has motivated us to contribute with a roadmap on ’GasInvolved Photo-and Electro-Catalysis’.Yulu Yang Yang Tang Haomin Jiang Yongmei Chen Pingyu Wan Maohong Fan Rongrong Zhang Sana Ullah Lun Pan Ji-Jun Zou Mengmeng Lao Wenping Sun Chao Yang Gengfeng Zheng Qiling Peng Ting Wang Yonglan Luo Xuping Sun Alexander S.Konev Oleg V.Levin Panagiotis Lianos Zhuofeng Hu Zhurui Shen Qinglan Zhao Ying Wang Nadia Todorova Christos Trapalis Matthew V.Sheridan Haipeng Wang Ling Zhang Songmei Sun Wenzhong Wang Jianmin Ma 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:1
3Bioinspired Adaptive,Elastic, and Conductive Graphene Structured Thin-Films Achieving High-Efficiency Underwater Detection and Vibration Perception显示文摘Underwater exploration has been an attractive topic for understanding the very nature of the lakes and even deep oceans. In recent years, extensive efforts have been devoted to developing functional materials and their integrated devices for underwater information capturing. However, there still remains a great challenge for water depth detection and vibration monitoring in a high-efficient,controllable,and scalable way.Inspired by the lateral line of fish that can sensitively sense the water depth and environmental stimuli,an ultrathin, elastic, and adaptive underwater sensor based on Ecoflex matrix with embedded assembled graphene sheets is fabricated. The graphene structured thin film is endowed with favourable adaptive and morphable features, which can conformally adhere to the structural surface and transform to a bulged state driven by water pressure.Owing to the introduction of the graphene-based layer, the integrated sensing system can actively detect the water depth with a wide range of 0.3-1.8 m.Furthermore, similar to the fish, the mechanical stimuli from land(e.g.knocking,stomping)and water(e.g.wind blowing, raining, fishing)can also be sensitively captured in real time. This graphene structured thin-film system is expected to demonstrate significant potentials in underwater monitoring, communication, and risk avoidance.Qiling Wang Peng Xiao Wei Zhou Yun Liang Guangqiang Yin Qiu Yang Shiao-Wei Kuo Tao Chen 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,4:1

5Root Endophyte Shift and Key Genera Discovery in Rice under Barnyardgrass Stress显示文摘Despite increasing knowledge of barnyardgrass(Echinochloa crus-galli) interference with rice, relatively little is known how endophytes improve the ability of rice against barnyardgrass stress. Here, we provided a detailed temporal characterization of rice root-associated microbiomes during co-cultivation with barnyardgrass and a comparison with the microbiomes of weed-free rice plants. Alpha diversity analysis indicated that barnyardgrass had the opposite effects on endophytic bacteria and fungi in rice roots, in terms of the community diversity, richness and coverage at the rice seedling stage. Principal coordinate analysis showed that barnyardgrass had only a minor effect on the community composition of endophytes in rice roots at the rice seedling stage, but showed a significant and maximum interference at the heading stage. Rice recruited many endophytes to resist biotic stress from barnyardgrass, especially for fungi. PICRUSt(phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states) predictive analysis indicated that 23 metabolic pathways of bacteria were overrepresented in rice. In addition, the main trophic mode of fungi was pathotroph according to FUNGuild analysis. A positive correlation between bacteria and fungi in rice roots was found via network analysis. Anaeromyxobacter, Azospira and Pseudolabrys were the vital bacteria, Phaeosphaeria and Funneliformis were the dominant fungi in maintaining the stability of the ecological network. These results provided data and a theoretical basis for the in-depth understanding of what role endophytes play in rice resistance to barnyardgrass stress and will have implications on improving the resistance of rice against biotic stress using root microbiota.LI Shuyan YAN Qiling WANG Jieyu JIANG Huidan LI Zuren PENG Qiong 2023Rice science2023,30,2:0
6Emerging chemical engineering of exosomes as“bioscaffolds”in diagnostics and therapeutics显示文摘All cells release extracellular vesicles(EVs)as part of their normal physiology. As one of the subtypes, exosomes(EXOs)have an average size range of approximately 40 nm e160 nm in diameter.Benefiting from their inherent immunogenicity and biocompatibility, the utility of autologous EXOs has the potential for both disease diagnosis/treatment.EXOs are generally employed as“bioscaffolds”and the whole diagnostic and therapeutic effects are mainly ascribed to exogenous cargos on the EXOs,such as proteins, nucleic acids, and chemotherapeutic agents and fluorophores delivered into specific cells or tissues.Surface en-gineering of EXOs for cargo loadings is one of the prerequisites for EXO-mediated diagnosis/treatment.After revisiting EXO-mediated diagnosis/treatment,the most popular strategies to directly undertake loadings of exogenous cargos on EXOs include genetic and chemical en-gineering.Generally,genetically-engineered EXOs can be merely produced by living organisms and intrinsically face some drawbacks. However, chemical methodologies for engineered EXOs diversify cargos and extend the functions of EXOs in the diagnosis/treatment.In this review,we would like to elucidate different chemical advances on the molecular level of EXOs along with the critical design required for diagnosis/treatment.Besides,the prospects of chemical engineering on the EXOs were critically addressed.Nevertheless, the superiority of EXO-medi-ated diagnosis/treatment via chemical engineering remains a challenge in clinical translation and trials.Furthermore, more chemical crosslinking on the EXOs is expected to be explored.Despite substantial claims in the literature, there is currently no review to exclusively summa-rize the chemical engineering to EXOs for diagnosis/treatment.We envision chemical engi-neering of EXOs will encourage more scientists to explore more novel technologies for a wider range of biomedical applications and accelerate the successful translation of EXO-based drug“bioscaffolds”from bench to bedside.Jianwei Wang Meijiao Wang Ning Jiang Shijia Ding Qiling Peng Lei Zheng 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:0
7Microscopic Investigation of Ethylene Carbonate Interface: A Molecular Dynamics and Vibrational Spectroscopic Study显示文摘Ethylene carbonate(EC) liquid and its vapor-liquid interface were investigated using a combination of molecular dynamics(MD)simulation and vibrational IR, Raman and sum frequency generation(SFG)spectroscopies. The MD simulation was performed with a flexible and polarizable model of the EC molecule newly developed for the computation of vibrational spectra. The internal vibration of the model was described on the basis of the harmonic couplings of vibrational modes, including the anharmonicity and Fermi resonance coupling of C=O stretching. The polarizable model was represented by the charge response kernel(CRK),which is based on ab initio molecular orbital calculations and can be readily applied to other systems. The flexible and polarizable model can also accurately reproduce the structural and thermodynamic properties of EC liquid. Meanwhile, a comprehensive set of vibrational spectra of EC liquid, including the IR and Raman spectra of the bulk liquid as well as the SFG spectra of the liquid interface, were experimentally measured and reported. The set of experimental vibrational spectra provided valuable information for validating the model, and the MD simulation using the model comprehensively elucidates the observed vibrational IR, Raman, and SFG spectra of EC liquid. Further MD analysis of the interface region revealed that EC molecules tend to orientate themselves with the C=O bond parallel to the interface. The MD simulation explains the positive Im[χ^((2))](ssp) band of the C=O stretching region in the SFG spectrum in terms of the preferential orientation of EC molecules at the interface. This work also elucidates the distinct lineshapes of the C=O stretching band in the IR, Raman, and SFG spectra. The lineshapes of the C=O band are split by the Fermi resonance of the C=O fundamental and the overtone of skeletal stretching. The Fermi resonance of C=O stretching was fully analyzed using the empirical potential parameter shift analysis(EPSA) method. The apparently different lineshapes of the C=O stretching band in the IR, Raman, and SFG spectra were attributed to the frequency shift of the C=O fundamental in different solvation environments in the bulk liquid and at the interface. This work proposes a systematic procedure for investigating the interface structure and SFG spectra, including general modeling procedure based on ab initio calculations, validation of the model using available experimental data, and simultaneous analysis of molecular orientation and SFG spectra through MD trajectories. The proposed procedure provides microscopic information on the EC interface in this study, and can be further applied to investigate other interface systems, such as liquid-liquid and solid-liquid interfaces.WANG Lin XIN Liang ISHIYAMA Tatsuya PENG Qiling YE Shen MORITA Akihiro 2018物理化学学报2018,34,10:0
