| 1 | Blast-induced ground vibration prediction in granite quarries:An application of gene expression programming,ANFIS,and sine cosine algorithm optimized ANN显示文摘Blasting of rocks has intrinsic environmental impacts such as ground vibration,which can interfere with the safety of lives and property.Hence,accurate prediction of the environmental impacts of blasting is imperative as the empirical models are not accurate as evident in the literature.Therefore,there is need to consider some robust predictive models for accurate prediction results.Gene expression programming(GEP),adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS),and sine cosine algorithm optimized artificial neural network(SCA-ANN)models are proposed for predicting the blast-initiated ground vibration in five granite quarries.The input parameters into the models are the distance from the point of blasting to the point of measurement(D),the weight of charge per delay(W),rock density(q),and the Schmidt rebound hardness(SRH)value while peak particle velocity(PPV)is the targeted output.100 datasets were used in developing the proposed models.The performance of the proposed models was examined using the coefficient of determination(R2)and error analysis.The R2 values obtained for the GEP,ANFIS,and SCA-ANN models are 0.989,0.997,and 0.999,respectively,while their errors are close to zero.The proposed models are compared with an empirical model and are found to outperform the empirical model. | Abiodun Ismail Lawal Sangki Kwon Olaide Sakiru Hammed Musa Adebayo Idris | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021，31，2： | 3 |

| 4 | Selected fermented indigenous vegetables and fruits from Malaysia as potential sources of natural probiotics for improving gut health显示文摘In the Peninsular Malaysia and Northern Borneo island of Malaysia, various rich indigenous leafy vegetables and fruits grow and contribute to the nutritional and dietary values of the population. They have high water contents, thus, naturally vulnerable to rapid food spoilage. Food preservation and processing play a vital role in the inhibition of food pathogens in fruits and vegetables that are prevalent in Malaysia. Lactic acid fermentation is generally a local-based bioprocess, among the oldest form and well-known for food-processing techniques among indigenous people there. The long shelf life of fermented vegetables and fruits improves their nutritional values and antioxidant potentials. Fermented leaves and vegetables can be utilized as a potential source of probiotics as they are host for several lactic acid bacteria such as Lactobacillus confusus, Weissella paramesenteroides, Enterococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus buchneri, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus pentosus, Pediococcus acidilactici, Pediococcus pentosaceus and Leuconostoc mesenteroides. These strains may be more viable in metabolic systems whereby they can contribute to a substantial increase in essential biologically active element than industrial starter cultures. | 9 | Sensitivity of livelihood strategy to livestock production and marketization:An empirical analysis of grasslands in Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘Recent researches have primarily focused on the relationship between livelihood strategies and livelihood capital,with few empirical studies on the sensitivity of livelihood strategies to livestock production and marketization in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.This study used an income distribution approach to categorize livelihood strategies of the respondents(n=394)into three types,i.e.,herder livelihood strategy(LS1),petty-herder livelihood strategy(LS2),and non-herder livelihood strategy(LS3).Using the multinomial logistic regression model,we compared livestock production and marketization across the three livelihood strategies.Our findings showed that(1)livestock production and marketization tended to favor LS1;(2)an increase in the land asset(contracted and rented grassland)and off-take rate increased the probability of households choosing LS1;(3)stocking rate was higher for LS1;and(4)the higher critical market-related risks perceived by herders were animal price and hay and corn price.Moreover,higher livestock price acted as a deterrent to diversifying into other livelihood strategies(LS2 and LS3).Finally,this study advocates for policies that will promote the land transfer market,adopt modern techniques in animal husbandry,improve the medium for disseminating market information to herders,and provide incentives for long-term livelihood transformation. | Saheed Olaide JIMOH DING Wenqiang DONG Haibin BAI Haihua YIN Yanting LIU Huihui HOU Xiangyang | 2021 | Regional Sustainability2021，2，4： | 0 |
