1High sensitivity D-shaped hole fiber temperature sensor based on surface plasmon resonance with liquid filling显示文摘A high sensitivity D-shaped hole double-cladding fiber temperature sensor based on surface plasmon resonance(SPR)is designed and investigated by a full-vector finite element method.Within the D-shaped hole doublecladding fiber,the hollow D-section is coated with gold film and then injected in a high thermo-optic coefficient liquid to realize the high temperature sensitivity for the fiber SPR temperature sensor.The numerical simulation results show that the peaking loss of the D-shaped hole double-cladding fiber SPR is hugely influenced by the distance between the D-shaped hole and fiber core and by the thickness of the gold film,but the temperature sensitivity is almost insensitive to the above parameters.When the thermo-optic coefficient is -2.8×10^(-4)∕℃,the thickness of the gold film is 47 nm,and the distance between the D-shaped hole and fiber core is 5μm,the temperature sensitivity of the D-shaped hole fiber SPR sensor can reach to -3.635 nm∕℃.SIJUN WENG LI PEI JIANSHUAI WANG TIGANG NING JING LI 2017Photonics Research2017,5,2:3
2Design and fabrication of erbium doped photosensitive fibers显示文摘A kind of erbium doped photosensitive fiber(EDPF) was proposed and fabricated,whose core was made of double layers named photosensitive layer and erbium doped layer.The double-layer core de-sign can overcome difficulties in fabrication of EDPF with single core design,i.e.the conflict between the high consistency rare earth doping and high consistency germanium doping.A sample was fabri-cated through the modified chemical vapor deposition method combined with solution doping tech-nique.The peak absorption coefficient was 48.80 dB/m at 1.53 μm,the background loss was lower than 0.1 dB/m,and the reflectivity of the fiber Brag gratings(FBG) written directly on the sample fiber was up to 97.3% by UV-writing technology.Moreover,a C band tunable fiber laser was fabricated using the sample fiber,in which a uniform FBG was written directly on EDPFs as a reflector.A single wavelength lasing with a maximum wavelength tuning range of 1555.2―1558.0 nm was achieved experimentally.Within this tuning range,the full-width at half maximum(FWHM) of the laser output was smaller than 0.015 nm and the side mode suppression ratio(SMSR) was better than 50 dB.LI Jian LIU Peng LU ShaoHua WANG Jing MAO XiangQiao WEI Huai FU YongJun ZHENG Kai NING TiGang LI TangJun JIAN ShuiSheng 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,5:1

4Axial Micro-Strain Sensor Based on Resonance Demodulation Technology Via Dual-Mode CMECF显示文摘This paper firstly and experimentally demonstrates an in-fiber axial micro-strain sensing head,combined with a Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI)based on the concentric multilayer elliptical-core fiber(CMECF).This MZI with a high extinction ratio(about 15dB)is successfully achieved with a CMECF-single mode fiber-CMECF(CSC)structure.The MZI sensor theory and the resonance demodulation technology are systematically described in this paper.In this CSC structure, two sections of the CMECF have a role as the mode generator and coupler,respectively.LP01 and LPlleven,which have similar excitation coefficients,are two dominated propagating mode groups supported in the CMECF.On account of the distinct dual-mode property,a good stability of this sensor is realized.The detected resonance in the MZI shifts as the axial micro-strain variated due to the strong interaction between higher order modes.High sensitivity of^1.78pm/με is experimentally achieved within the range of 0με-1250με,meanwhile,the intensity fluctuation is below 0.38dB.Xiao LIANG Tigang NING Jingcong LI Yang LI Zhiming LIU 2019Photonic Sensors2019,9,1:1

Techniques of preform fabrication by a new furnace round heating MCVD process and fiber drawing process were reviewed. Difficulties in doping fluorine in silica, widening the depressed-index cladding and maintaining the index of fiber core were discussed. 11Amplification characteristics in active tapered segmented cladding fiber with large mode area显示文摘A kind of tapered segmented cladding fiber(T-SCF)with large mode area(LMA)is proposed,and the mode and amplification characteristics of T-SCFs with concave,linear,and convex tapered structures are investigated based on finite-element method(FEM)and few-mode steady-state rate equation.Simulation results indicate that the concave tapered structure can introduce high loss for high-order modes(HOMs)that is advantageous to achieve single-mode operation,whereas the convex tapered structure provides large effective mode area that can help to mitigate nonlinear effects.Meanwhile,the small-to-large amplification scheme shows further advantages on stripping off HOMs,and the large-to-small amplification scheme decreases the heat load density induced by the high-power pump.Moreover,singlemode propagation performance,effective mode area,and heat load density of the T-SCF are superior to those of tapered step index fiber(T-SIF).These theoretical model and numerical results can provide instructive suggestions for designing high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers.Caijian Xie Tigang Ning Jingjing Zheng Li Pei Jianshuai Wang Jing Li Haidong You Chuangye Wang Xuekai Gao 2021High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,2:0
12Design of ring-sector-assisted PANDA ring-core few mode fiber显示文摘For the PANDA ring-core polarization-maintaining few-mode fiber(RC-PM-FMF)with the given supported eigenmodes,the minimum effective refractive index difference min(Δneff)between the adjacent eigenmodes decreases with the RC size.Consequently,we propose a PANDA RC-PM-FMF assisted by a ring-sector(RS)structure,which can be used to mainly increase theΔneff values between the adjacent even and odd eigenmodes with the same polarization.The RS-RC-PM-FMF with an appropriate choice of the parameters can support 10 linearly polarized(LP)eigenmodes,which have min(Δneff)values higher than 1.9×10^(-4) for the adjacent eigenmodes over the whole C+L band.Furthermore,the fiber is characterized by the low group velocity dispersion(GVD)(-40—20 ps·nm^(-1)·km^(-1))and effective mode areas(63—104μm^(2)),while the total losses are within the range of 0.19—0.23 d B/km over the whole band.DU Zhiyong WANG Chuncan LI Peixin PEI Li ZHENG Jingjing NING Tigang 2022Optoelectronics Letters2022,18,6:0
