2A gelatin-based artificial SEI for lithium deposition regulation and polysulfide shuttle suppression in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery is one of the best candidates for the next-generation energy storage system due to its high theoretical capacity(1675 mA h-1),low cost and environment friendliness.However,lithium(Li) dendrites formation and polysulfide shuttle effect are two major challenges that limit the commercialization of Li-S batteries.Here we design a facile bifunctional interlayer of gelatin-based fibers(GFs),aiming to protect the Li anode surface from the dendrites growth and also hinder the polysulfide shuttle effect.We reveal that the 3D structural network of GFs layer with abundant polar sites helps to homogenize Li-ion flux,leading to uniform Li-ion deposition.Meanwhile,the polar moieties also immobilize the lithium polysulfides and protect the Li metal from the side-reaction.As a result,the anodeprotected batteries have shown significantly enhanced performance.A high coulombic efficiency of 96% after 160 cycles has been achieved in the Li-Cu half cells.The Li-Li symmetric cells exhibit a prolonged lifespan for 800 h with voltage hysteresis(10 mV).With the as-prepared GFs layer,the Li-S battery shows approximately 14% higher capacity retention than the pristine battery at 0.5 C after 100 cycles.Our work presents that this gelatin-based bi-functional interlayer provides a viable strategy for the manufacturing of advanced Li-S batteries.Naseem Akhtar Xiaogang Sun Muhammad Yasir Akram Fakhar Zaman Weikun Wang Anbang Wang Long Chen Hao Zhang Yuepeng Guan Yaqin Huang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:5

4Attapulgite nanorods assisted surface engineering for separator to achieve high-performance lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been recognized as one of the most promising candidates for nextgeneration portable electronic devices,owing to their extremely high energy density and low cost.However,the dissolution of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and consequent'shuttle effect'seriously hinder the practical deployment of Li-S batteries.Herein,multi-metal oxide nanorods named attapulgite are proposed as multifunctional ionic sieve to immobilize LiPSs and further promote the regulation of LiPSs.Attapulgite,consisting of Al,Mg,Fe,Si and O ions,possesses more polar sites to immobilize LiPSs in comparison with single metal oxides.In addition,the catalytic nature(Fe ions)of attapulgite avails the LiPSs conversion reaction,which is further confirmed by the linear sweep voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.Benefited from the synergistic effect of multi-metal oxide and conductive carbon,the Li-S battery with the modified separator delivers remarkable discharge capacities of 1059.4 mAh g-1 and 792.5 mAh g-1 for the first and 200th cycle at 0.5 C,respectively.The work presents an effective way to improve the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries by employing attapulgite nanorods assisted separator surface engineering.Wenhao Sun Xiaogang Sun Naseem Akhtar Chengming Li Weikun Wang Anbang Wang Kai Wang Yaqin Huang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9:4
54-羟基壬烯醛在糖尿病大鼠白内障中的代谢及发病中的作用显示文摘目的研究脂质过氧化代谢产物4-羟基壬烯醛(HNE)在糖尿病性白内障中的代谢过程以及发病中的作用。方法实验研究。采用两因素析因设计:处理因素为两水平(正常对照组和糖尿病组),时间因素为三水平(30、45、70d)。对于不同时期的正常与糖尿病大鼠晶状体采用下列方法进行处理:(1)使用一定量的带有放射活性的HNE与这些晶状体一起培养,测定HNE在品状体的代谢;(2)分光光度计法测定醛脱氢酶(ALDH)活性;(3)免疫印迹法检测ALDH和HNE-蛋白质加合物的表达。采用两因素析因设计定量资料方差分析对资料进行统计学处理。结果HNE在正常对照组的晶状体的代谢主要是与谷胱甘肽(GSH)结合形成GS-HNE(约45%),其次为经ALDH氧化成HNA(约9.1%);但糖尿病组晶状体的HNE与GSH结合径路受到抑制,GS—HNE形成减少,与正常组相比30d时减少约64%(F=49.59,P〈0.001);而糖尿病组晶状体的ALDH氧化径路代偿增强,HNA形成增多,70d比30d增多约1.7倍(F=11.51,P=0.0442)。糖尿病组的晶状体ALDH活性增高,免疫印迹法显示ALDH较正常对照组增多,HNE-蛋白质加合物较对照组减少。结论糖尿病性白内障中HNE与GSH的结合径路受到抑制,而氧化径路代偿性增强,揭示了结合径路的损伤可能与白内障发生有密切关系,氧化径路的代偿增强可能对防止糖尿病性白内障的发生有一定的意义。肖天林 Mohammad hoeb Naseem .Ansari 2009中华眼科杂志2009,45,3:4
6History of cupping(Hijama):a narrative review of literature显示文摘Cupping(Hijama in Arabic) is an ancient, holistic method for the treatment of a variety of diseases. Though the exact origin of cupping therapy is a matter of controversy, its use has been documented in early Egyptian and Chinese medical practices. Diverse human civilizations have contributed to the historical development and continuation of cupping therapy. This narrative review describes the history of cupping, historical definitions, cupping instruments and uses of cupping therapy. Electronic searches of relevant databases(Pub Med, Google Scholar and Ovid SP) were conducted using keywords and Boolean operators. Manual searches and references of published articles and books were also conducted. A number of articles(N = 625) were retained for extensive review, and finally 83 articles were included in this paper. The historical descriptions of cupping therapy were found in ancient human civilizations of the Eastern and Western world. There were inconsistent data concerning the origin of cupping, definitions, instruments, procedures, definite advancements and research in Hijama over centuries. Cupping therapy fell out of favor in 17 th and mid-18 th centuries but recovered popularity in modern medicine. Currently, cupping therapy is used for health promotion, prophylaxis and treatment of a variety of diseases around the world. Cupping therapy with a good safety profile has a checkered history and is a well-recognized traditional method for managing medical conditions. 7Strength of Concrete Filled Steel Tubular Columns显示文摘Composite columns of steel and concrete have been used and studied world wide, but filled tubu- lar columns need more attention. This paper presents an experimental study on the behavior of short con- crete filled steel tubular columns (CFT) axially loaded in compression to failure. A total of 28 specimens (16 were filled with concrete and 12 were kept hollow) with different cross-sections were tested to investigate the load capacity. The length-to-diameter ratios of these columns were between 4 and 9. Parameters for the tests were tube shape and diameter-to-thickness ratio. Some of the concrete filled columns had internal bracing of #3 deformed bars. The test results are compared with the theoretical results and previous studies. The results show that the confinement effect on concrete does play a role in increasing the compressive strengths to almost 60% in some cases. 8Antibiotics in two municipal sewage treatment plants in Sri Lanka:Occurrence,consumption and removal efficiency显示文摘Most of the monitoring data on the occurrence of antibiotics in sewage treatment plants(STPs)have been reported from Europe,North America and some countries in Northeast Asia,while very limited data can be found in Southeast Asian countries.As a pioneering research in Sri Lanka,we collected 24 h composite wastewater samples at the influent and effluent of two municipal STPs for consecutive 7 days to investigate occurrence,consumption and removal efficiency of seventeen antibiotics.The STP was located in Colombo and Hikkaduwa,respectively,representing two kinds of communities(i.e.local and tourists)in Sri Lanka.The targeted antibiotics were extracted by solid-phase extraction method and detected on an Agilent HPLCMSMS(1290/6470QQQ).Results illustrated that the majority of the antibiotics can be always detected from both STPs,except for chlorotetracycine(CTC),doxycycline(DOX)and florfenicol(FF).Fluoroquinolones(FQs)were detected at highest concentrations with ciprofloxacin(CIP)being the dominant compound.Concentrations of CIP in the influent samples were in the range of 433 e6010 ng/L.The consumption of antibiotics was estimated on the basis of influent mass load and catchment population data.We found difference in consumption patterns between the two served areas.Compared to local people in Colombo,tourists in Hikkaduwa appeared to take more antibiotics during the study period with the estimated daily dose of 0.25 g per 1000 persons.Moreover,macrolides accounted for a larger portion than FQs in Hikkaduwa,with azithromycin(AZM)being the most prevalent antibacterial agent.After comparison with an official report by Medical Supplies Division of Sri Lanka,we conjected that AZM was not commonly used among local people and it was mainly introduced by foreign arrivals.As for the removal efficiency,the activated sludge system of Colombo exhibited better elimination and more stable performance than the constructed wetland process of Hikkaduwa.Dilanka N.D.Samaraweera Xin Liu Guangcai Zhong Tilak Priyadarshana Riffat Naseem Malik Gan Zhang Mahdi Safaei Khorram Zewen Zhu Xianzhi Peng 2019Emerging Contaminants2019,5,1:3

10Recent advances in imaging technologies in dentistry显示文摘Dentistry has witnessed tremendous advances in all its branches over the past three decades. With these advances, the need for more precise diagnostic tools,specially imaging methods, have become mandatory.From the simple intra-oral periapical X-rays, advanced imaging techniques like computed tomography, cone beam computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound have also found place in modern dentistry. Changing from analogue to digital radiography has not only made the process simpler and faster but also made image storage, manipulation(brightness/contrast, image cropping, etc.) and retrieval easier. The three-dimensional imaging has made the complex cranio-facial structures more accessible for examination and early and accurate diagnosis of deep seated lesions. 13Geochemistry and Depositional Setting of Fort Munro Formation,Middle and Lower Indus Basins,Pakistan显示文摘Fort Munro Formation represents the products of the Upper Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) in the middle and lower Indus basins. The formation is exposed in the Rakhi Nala (Sulaiman Range), Bara Nala (Lakhi Range) and Naka Pabni (Southern Pab Range) areas. Major and trace elemental geochemistry and petrographic studies of the formation have been carried out to understand the facies trends in the middle and lower Indus basins. A high amount of acid-insoluble fraction, Ca/Mg and Mg vs. Ca/Sr ratio reveal that the formation was deposited in a shallow marine regressive environment. High amounts of clastic reflect abundant influx of terrigenous materials from the east (Indian craton) and west (Bibai volcanic). High Sr content indicates that aragonite was the precursor mineral, which was transformed into stable low-Mg calcite during diagenesis. 15Total phenolic,chromium contents and antioxidant activity of raw and processed sugars显示文摘Processing improves the visual quality of food;however,the ingredient and nutritional values may alter.In present study,the sugar samples(refined,raw,gur(Jaggery/jaggeree)and molasses)were collected from 20 different agro-climatic regions of Pakistan and analyzed for the chromium concentration,total phenolic and antioxidant activity,in order to evaluate the processing effect.The concentration of Cr was determined by digestion method using atomic absorption spectrophotometer,while antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH(1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl)and reducing power.It was observed that chromium content in Jaggery was 74%higher than raw sugar,while molasses showed 21.27%higher concentration versus jaggery.The total phenolic contents were found considerably higher in molasses(3751 lg GAE/g)followed by Jaggery(3285 lg GAE/g),raw sugar(27.75 lg GAE/g)and refined sugar(23.81 lg GAE/g).The DPPH scavenging activity and reducing power was also found dependent to sugar type.Form results,it can be concluded that processing significantly affected the chromium contents,total phenolics and antioxidant activity.Munawar Iqbal MAfzal Qamar Tanveer H.Bokhari Mazhar Abbas Fida Hussain Nasir Masood Ali Keshavarzi Naseem Qureshih Arif Nazir 2017Information Processing in Agriculture2017,4,1:2
