2Vibration analysis of damaged and undamaged steel structure systems: cantilever column and frame显示文摘This paper presents the experimental and numerical studies conducted on a steel column and a steel frame structure using free vibration analysis. The effects of damages on structures were investigated, which were simulated by introducing multiple cracks at different locations in the experimental and numerical models. The acceleration responses of the test models, were recorded through an accelerometer, and were used to calibrate the numerical models developed in finite element based software.Modal frequencies of damaged and undamaged structures were compared and analyzed,to derive relationships for damaged and undamaged structures’frequencies in terms of crack depth. It was found that, due to the presence of cracks, the mechanical properties of a structure changes, whereby, the modal frequencies decrease. An approximately linear trend was observed for the frequency decrease with the increase in crack depth, which was also confirmed by the numerical models. The derived relationships were extended to further develop a mechanics-based damage scale for steel structures,to help facilitate structural health monitoring and screening of vulnerable structures.Muhammad Abuzar Khan Kareem Akhtar Naveed Ahmad Feroz Shah Naeem Khattak 2020Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2020,19,3:1

4COVIDX: Computer-aided diagnosis of COVID-19 and its severity prediction with raw digital chest X-ray scans显示文摘Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a contagious infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2) and it has infected and killed millions of people across the globe. Objective: In the absence or inadequate provision of therapeutic treatments of COVID-19 and the limited convenience of diagnostic techniques, there is a necessity for some alternate spontaneous screening systems that can easily be used by the physicians to rapidly recognize and isolate the infected patients to circumvent onward surge. A chest X-ray (CXR) image can effortlessly be used as a substitute modality to diagnose the COVID-19.Method: In this study, we present an automatic COVID-19 diagnostic and severity prediction system (COVIDX) that uses deep feature maps of CXR images along with classical machine learning algorithms to identify COVID-19 and forecast its severity. The proposed system uses a three-phase classification approach (healthy vs unhealthy, COVID-19 vs pneumonia, and COVID-19 severity) using different conventional supervised classification algorithms. Results: We evaluated COVIDX through 10-fold cross-validation, by using an external validation dataset, and also in a real setting by involving an experienced radiologist. In all the adopted evaluation settings, COVIDX showed strong generalization power and outperforms all the prevailing state-of-the-art methods designed for this purpose. Conclusions: Our proposed method (COVIDX), with vivid performance in COVID-19 diagnosis and its severity prediction, can be used as an aiding tool for clinical physicians and radiologists in the diagnosis and follow-up studies of COVID-19 infected patients.Availability: We made COVIDX easily accessible through a cloud-based webserver and python code available at https://sites.google.com/view/wajidarshad/software and http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asb09vnkk5qn6w6fk6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/wajidarshad/covidx, respectively.Wajid Arshad Abbasi Syed Ali Abbas Saiqa Andleeb Maryum Bibi Fiaz Majeed Abdul Jaleel Muhammad Naveed Akhtar 2022Quantitative Biology2022,10,2:0
5Factors influencing job satisfaction of medical representatives in Pakistan显示文摘The objective of this extensive study was to analyze the motivational problems of medical representatives(MRs) and to examine the effects of environment, job characteristics and personality variables on job satisfaction. The statistical analysis has revealed that MRs have a variety of different responses for working harder which is strictly required. An interesting job and satisfaction with various aspects of their work especially their position, task area and pay induce them to exert extra efforts.Over all, this study has provided evidence that in order to understand the factors influencing employer's satisfaction, researcher must examine the combined effects of above mentioned factors.Mahmood Ahmad Naveed Akhtar Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Ghulam Murtaza 2010Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences2010,19,3:0
6Application of Zinc, Iron and Boron Enhances Productivity and Grain Biofortification of Mungbean显示文摘Deficiencies of essential vitamins, iron(Fe),and zinc(Zn)affect over one-half of the world’s population.A significant progress has been made to control micronutrient deficiencies through supplementation, but new approaches are needed, especially to reach the rural poor.Agronomic biofortification of pulses with Zn,Fe,and boron(B)offers a pragmatic solution to combat hidden hunger instead of food fortification and supplementation. Moreover,it also has positive effects on crop production as well. Therefore,we conducted three separate field experiments for two consecutive years to evaluate the impact of soil and foliar application of the aforementioned nutrients on the yield and seed biofortification of mungbean.Soil application of Zn at 0,4.125,8.25,Fe at 0,2.5,5.0 and B at 0,0.55,1.1 kg ha−1 was done in the first, second and third experiment, respectively.Foliar application in these experiments was done at 0.3%Zn,0.2%Fe and 0.1%B respectively one week after flowering initiation.Data revealed that soil-applied Zn,Fe and B at 8.25,5.0 and 1.1 kg ha−1,respectively,enhanced the grain yield of mungbean;however, this increase in yield was statistically similar to that recorded with Zn,Fe and B at 4.125,2.5 and 0.55 kg ha−1,respectively.Foliar application of these nutrients at flower initiation significantly enhanced the Zn contents by 28%and 31%,Fe contents by 80%and 78%,while B contents by 98%and 116%over control during 2019 and 2020,respectively.It was concluded from the results that soil application of Zn,Fe,and B enhanced the yield performance of mungbean;while significant improvements in seed Zn,Fe,and B contents were recorded with foliar application of these nutrients.Muhammad Zafar Siraj Ahmed Muhammad Kashif Munir Nawal Zafar Muhammad Saqib Muhammad Aleem Sarwar Saba Iqbal Baber Ali Naveed Akhtar Basharat Ali Sadam Hussain Muhammad Saeed Mohammad Khalid Al-Sadoon Aneela Gulnaz 2023Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,4:0
