| 1 | Smart Objects Identification System for Robotic Surveillance显示文摘Video surveillance is an active research topic in computer vision.In this paper,humans and cars identifcation technique suitable for real time video surveillance systems is presented.The technique we proposed includes background subtraction,foreground segmentation,shadow removal,feature extraction and classifcation.The feature extraction of the extracted foreground objects is done via a new set of afne moment invariants based on statistics method and these were used to identify human or car.When the partial occlusion occurs,although features of full body cannot be extracted,our proposed technique extracts the features of head shoulder.Our proposed technique can identify human by extracting the human head-shoulder up to 60%–70%occlusion.Thus,it has a better classifcation to solve the issue of the loss of property arising from human occluded easily in practical applications.The whole system works at approximately 16 29 fps and thus it is suitable for real-time applications.The accuracy for our proposed technique in identifying human is very good,which is 98.33%,while for cars identifcation,the accuracy is also good,which is 94.41%.The overall accuracy for our proposed technique in identifying human and car is at 98.04%.The experiment results show that this method is efective and has strong robustness. | Amir Akramin Shafie Azhar Bin Mohd Ibrahim Muhammad Mahbubur Rashid | 2014 | International Journal of Automation and computing2014,11,1: | 3 |
| 2 | Laboratory biosafety measures of SARS-CoV-2 at containment level 2 with particular reference to its more infective variants显示文摘The novel betacoronavirus(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2,SARS‐CoV‐2)is a pathogen that causes deadly respiratory disease named coronavirus disease 2019(COVID‐19).The incidence of this disease has increased in the last few months affecting 257,832,881 people in 221 countries and 51,68,069 deaths worldwide according to Worldometer at 04:03 GMT on November 22,2021.Thus,the emergence of this disease creates a challenge for health care providers in handling this pathogen and reducing its risk of transmission.In developing countries,this virus is treated in biosafety level 2 laboratories,where a high concentration of pathogen can easily affect the laboratory staff and cause the spread of this disease.Based on the epidemiology and characteristics of the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus already discussed in recent studies,we will provide biosafety guidelines and suggestions for safe handling and transportation of the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus in dealing with the current pandemic situation with a focus on increased infectivity of emerging new variants. | Wafa Naeem Habiba Zeb Muhammad Ibrahim Rashid | 2022 | Biosafety and Health2022,4,1: | 1 |
| 3 | Synthesis and characterization of poppy seed oil methyl esters显示文摘Response surface methodology(RSM) was used to determine the optimum conditions of the methanolysis of crude poppy seed oil using Na OCH3 as catalyst. The experiments were run according to five levels, four variable central composite rotatable design(CCRD) using RSM. The reaction variables, i.e., molar ratio of methanol/oil(3:1–9:1), catalyst concentration(0.5 wt%–1.25 wt% Na OCH3), reaction temperature(25–65 °C), and reaction time(20–90 min) were studied. We demonstrated that the molar ratio of methanol/oil, catalyst concentration,and reaction temperature were the significant parameters affecting the yield of poppy seed oil methyl esters(PSOMEs). The optimum transesterification reaction conditions, established using the RSM, which offered a89.35% PSOME yield, were found to be 7.5:1 molar ratio of methanol/oil, 0.75% catalyst concentration, 45 °C reaction temperature, and 90 min reaction time. The proposed process provided an average biodiesel yield of more than 85%. A linear correlation was constructed between the observed and predicted values of the yield.The gas chromatography(GC) analyses have shown that PSOMEs contain linoleic-, oleic-, palmitic-, and stearic-acids as main fatty acids. The FTIR spectrum of the PSOMEs was also analyzed to confirm the completion of the transesterification reaction.
