| 1 | Foliar application of micronutrients enhances crop stand, yield and the biofortification essential for human health of different wheat cultivars显示文摘Globally about half of the world’s population is under micronutrient malnutrition due to poor quality food intake.To overcome this problem,fortification and biofortification techniques are often used.Biofortification is considered a better option than fortification due to the easy control of nutrient deficiencies present in daily food.This field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of foliar application of a micronutrient mixture(MNM)consisting of zinc(Zn),iron(Fe),copper(Cu),manganese(Mn)and boron(B)on yield and flour quality of wheat.The results show the effectiveness of foliar feeding for growth and yield parameters,in addition to the enriching of wheat grains with Zn,Cu,Fe,Mn and B.Compared to the control without foliar feeding,foliar application on wheat crop increased tillering ability,spike length,grain yield and the contents of Zn,Cu,Mn,Fe and B by 21,47,22,22 and 25%in wheat flour,respectively.Therefore,foliar feeding of micronutrients could be an effective approach to enrich wheat grains with essential nutrients for correcting malnutrition. | Muhammad Zahir Aziz Muhammad Yaseen Tanveer Abbas Muhammad Naveed Adnan Mustafa Yasir Hamid Qudsia Saeed XU Ming-gang | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,6: | 1 |
| 2 | Inhibitive efficacy of Nymphoides indica rhizome extract onα-glucosidase, and cross-link formation of advanced glycation end products显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the inhibitive efficacy of Nymphoides Indica(L.) Kuntze rhizome extract onα-glucosidase and on cross-link formation of advanced glycation end products(AGEs).METHODS: The plant extracts were prepared by cold maceration and fractionated in solvents of diverse polarity. The in vitro α-glucosidase inhibition assay, fluorescence spectrometry and SDS-PAGE analysis was performed for antiglycation assays.RESULTS: During α-glucosidase inhibition assay significant inhibition by chloroform(0.43 mg/mL)and methanol fractions(0.66 mg/mL) was noticed.During the AGEs inhibition assay, both oxidative(BSA-MGO) and non-oxidative(BSA-glucose)modes were employed. The inhibition of AGEs by total extract was considered moderate(IC_(50)0.10 mg/mL) as a result of non-oxidative mode, whereas in case of oxidative mode(BASA-MGO) no activity was recorded. Among fractions the methanolic fraction presented significant results both in oxidative(IC_(50)0.01 mg/mL) and non-oxidative modes(IC_(50) 0.3 mg/mL). Likewise the ethyl acetate fraction was more active in non-oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.04 mg/mL) compared to oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.32 mg/mL).During assay for inhibition of cross-link formation,the chloroform fraction significantly inhibited cross-link formation in a dose dependent mode.CONCLUSION: It was finally concluded that N. | 5 | Ambiguity Resolution in Direction of Arrival Estimation with Linear Antenna Arrays Using Differential Geometry显示文摘Linear antenna arrays(LAs)can be used to accurately predict the direction of arrival(DOAs)of various targets of interest in a given area.However,under certain conditions,LA suffers from the problem of ambiguities among the angles of targets,which may result inmisinterpretation of such targets.In order to cope up with such ambiguities,various techniques have been proposed.Unfortunately,none of them fully resolved such a problem because of rank deficiency and high computational cost.We aimed to resolve such a problem by proposing an algorithm using differential geometry.The proposed algorithm uses a specially designed doublet antenna array,which is made up of two individual linear arrays.Two angle observation models,ambiguous observation model(AOM)and estimated observation model(EOM),are derived for each individual array.The ambiguous set of angles is contained in the AOM,which is obtained from the corresponding array elements using differential geometry.The EOM for each array,on the other hand,contains estimated angles of all sources impinging signals on each array,as calculated by a direction-finding algorithm such as the genetic algorithm.The algorithm then contrasts the EOM of each array with its AOM,selecting the output of that array whose EOM has the minimum correlation with its corresponding AOM.In comparison to existing techniques,the proposed algorithm improves estimation accuracy and has greater precision in antenna aperture selection,resulting in improved resolution capabilities and the potential to be used more widely in practical scenarios.The simulation results using MATLAB authenticates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. | Alamgir Safi Muhammad Asghar Khan Fahad Algarni Muhammad Adnan Aziz M.Irfan Uddin Insaf Ullah Tanweer Ahmad Cheema | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,1: | 0 |
