1Energy-efficient Virtual Machine Allocation Technique Using Flower Pollination Algorithm in Cloud Datacenter:A Panacea to Green Computing显示文摘Cloud computing has attracted significant interest due to the increasing service demands from organizations offloading computationally intensive tasks to datacenters.Meanwhile,datacenter infrastructure comprises hardware resources that consume high amount of energy and give out carbon emissions at hazardous levels.In cloud datacenter,Virtual Machines(VMs)need to be allocated on various Physical Machines(PMs)in order to minimize resource wastage and increase energy efficiency.Resource allocation problem is NP-hard.Hence finding an exact solution is complicated especially for large-scale datacenters.In this con text,this paper proposes an Energy-oriented Flower Pollination Algorithm(E-FPA)for VM allocation in cloud datacenter environments.A system framework for the scheme was developed to enable energy-oriented allocation of various VMs on a PM.The allocation uses a strategy called Dynamic Switching Probability(DSP).The framework finds a near optimal solution quickly and balances the exploration of the global search and exploitation of the local search.It considers a processor,storage,and memory constraints of a PM while prioritizing energy-oriented allocation for a set of VMs.Simulations performed on MultiRecCloudSim utilizing planet workload show that the E-FPA outperforms the Genetic Algorithm for Power-Aware(GAPA)by 21.8%,Order of Exchange Migration(OEM)ant colony system by 21.5%,and First Fit Decreasing(FFD)by 24.9%.Therefore,E-FPA significantly improves datacenter performance and thus,enhances environmental sustainability.Mohammed Joda Usman Abdul Samad Ismail Hassan Chizari Gaddafi Abdul-Salaam Ali Muhammad Usman Abdulsalam Yau Gital Omprakash Kaiwartya Ahmed Aliyu 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,2:13

3Hypoxia inducible factor-1αaccumulation in steatotic liver preservation:Role of nitric oxide显示文摘AIM:To examine the relevance of hypoxia inducible factor(HIF-1)and nitric oxide(NO)on the preservation of fatty liver against cold ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI). METHODS:We used an isolated perfused rat liver model and we evaluated HIF-1αin steatotic and non-steatotic livers preserved for 24 h at 4℃in University of Wisconsin and IGL-1 solutions,and then subjected to 2 h of normothermic reperfusion.After normoxic reperfusion,liver enzymes,bile production,bromosulfophthalein clearance,as well as HIF-1αand NO[endothelial NO synthase(eNOS)activity and nitrites/nitrates]were also measured.Other factors associated with the higher susceptibility of steatotic livers to IRI,such as mitochondrial damage and vascular resistance were evaluated. RESULTS:A significant increase in HIF-1αwas found in steatotic and non-steatotic livers preserved in IGL-1 after cold storage.Livers preserved in IGL-1 showed a significant attenuation of liver injury and improvement in liver function parameters.These benefits were enhanced by the addition of trimetazidine(an antiischemic drug),which induces NO and eNOS activation, to IGL-1 solution.In normoxic reperfusion,the presence of NO favors HIF-1αaccumulation,promoting also the activation of other cytoprotective genes,such as hemeoxygenase-1. 4Ultrasound-guided transrectal extended prostate biopsy:a prospective study显示文摘Aim: To evaluate the diagnostic value of the 10 systematic transrectal ultrasound-guided (TRUS) prostate biopsy compared with the sextant biopsy technique for patients with suspected prostate cancer. Methods: One hundred and fifty-two patients with suspected prostate cancer were included in the study. Patients were entered in the study because they presented with high levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA) (over 4ng/mL) and/or had undergone an abnormal digital rectal examination (DRE). In addition to sextant prostate biopsy cores, four more biopsies were obtained from the lateral peripheral zone with additional cores from each suspicious area revealed by transrectal ultrasound. Sextant, lateral peripheral zone and suspicious area biopsy cores were submitted separately to the pathological department. Results: Cancer detection rates were 27.6%(42/152) and 19.7%(30/152) for the 10-core and sextant core biopsy protocols, respectively. Adding the lateral peripheral zone (PZ) to the sextant prostate biopsy showed a 28.6%(12/42) increase in the cancer detection rate in patients with positive prostate cancer (P<0.01).The cancer detection rate in patients who presented with elevated PSA was 29.3%(34/116). When serum PSA was 4-10ng/mL TRUS-guided biopsy detected cancer in 20.6%, while the detection rate was 32.4% and 47.0% when serum PSA was 10-20ng/mL and above 20ng/mL, respectively. Conclusion: The 10 systematic TRUS-guided prostate biopsy improves the detection rate of prostate cancer by 28.6% when compared with the sextant biopsy technique alone, without increase in the morbidity. 6Pancreatic injury in patients with septic shock: A literature review显示文摘Sepsis and septic shock are life threatening condition associated with high mortality rate in critically-ill patients. This high mortality is mainly related to the inadequacy between oxygen delivery and cellular demand leading to the onset of multiorgan dysfunction. Whether this multiorgan failure affect the pancreas is not fully investigated. In fact, pancreatic injury may occur because of ischemia, overwhelming inflammatory response, oxidative stress, cellular apoptosis and/or metabolic derangement. Increased serum amylase and/or lipase levels are common in patients with septic shock. However, imaging test rarely reveal significant pancreatic damage. Whether pancreatic dysfunction does affect the prognosis of patients with septic shock or not is still a matter of debate. In fact, only few studies with limited sample size assessed the clinical relevance of the pancreatic injury in this group of patients. In this review, we aimed to describe the epidemiology and the physiopathology of pancreatic injury in septic shock patients, to clarify whether it requires specific management and to assess its prognostic value. Our main finding is that pancreatic injury does not significantly affect the outcome in septic shock patients. 7Insulin like growth factor-1 increases fatty liver preservation in IGL-1 solution显示文摘AIM: To investigate the benefits of insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) supplementation to serum-free institut georges lopez-1 (IGL-1) solution to protect fatty liver against cold ischemia reperfusion injury. METHODS: Steatotic livers were preserved for 24 h in IGL-1  solution supplemented with or without IGF-1 and then perfused 'ex vivo ' for 2 h at 37℃. We examined the effects of IGF-1 on hepatic damage and function (transaminases, percentage of sulfobromophthalein clearance in bile and vascular resistance). We also studied other factors associated with the poor tolerance of fatty livers to cold ischemia reperfusion injury such as mitochondrial damage, oxidative stress, nitric oxide, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and mitogen-activated protein kinases.RESULTS: Steatotic livers preserved in IGL-1 solutionsupplemented with IGF-1 showed lower transaminase levels, increased bile clearance and a reduction in vascular resistance when compared to those preserved in IGL-1solution alone. These benefits are mediated by activation of AKT and constitutive endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), as well as the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α. 8Emotion processing in Parkinson's disease: a blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging study显示文摘Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by loss of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta. Tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia are the major symptoms of the disease. These motor impairments are often accompanied by affective and emotional dysfunctions which have been largely studied over the last decade. The aim of this study was to investigate emotional processing organization in the brain of patients with Parkinson's disease and to explore whether there are differences between recognition of different types of emotions in Parkinson's disease. We examined 18 patients with Parkinson's disease(8 men, 10 women) with no history of neurological or psychiatric comorbidities. All these patients underwent identical brain blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging for emotion evaluation. Blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging results revealed that the occipito-temporal cortices, insula, orbitofrontal cortex, basal ganglia, and parietal cortex which are involved in emotion processing, were activated during the functional control. Additionally, positive emotions activate larger volumes of the same anatomical entities than neutral and negative emotions. Results also revealed that Parkinson's disease associated with emotional disorders are increasingly recognized as disabling as classic motor symptoms. 9Low-velocity simultaneous bilateral femoral neck fracture following long-term antiepileptic therapy:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Simultaneous bilateral femoral neck fractures are relatively rare injuries.They are usually associated with underlying metabolic bone disorders or systemic diseases.Long-term use of narcotics and bisphosphonates can also result in similar fracture patterns;however,association of this fracture type with longterm use of antiepileptic drugs is not very common.Only one such case has been reported in the literature.This article describes the second.CASE REPORT We report a case of simultaneous displaced bilateral femoral neck fractures in a 50-year-old epileptic patient,who had taken phenytoin for the past 3 years.The fractures were a result of low-velocity injury following a fall from the bed.The fractures were managed with a bilateral hemi-replacement arthroplasty.Oral bisphosphonates were given to improve the bone quality in the post-operative period.The patient had a good post-operative outcome,that was sustained throughout the entire follow-up period of 1 year.CONCLUSION Antiepileptic drugs should be supplemented with bisphosphonates and vitamin D to improve bone quality and prevent fractures in epileptic patients.Mohammed Sadiq Vikrant Kulkarni Syed Azher Hussain Mohammed Ismail Mayur Nayak 2019World Journal of Orthopedics2019,10,10:5

11A review of chemical absorption of carbon dioxide for biogas upgrading显示文摘Significant attention has been given to biogas production, purification and upgrading as a renewable and clean fuel supplement. Biogas is a product of an anaerobic digestion process comprising methane, carbon dioxide,and trace amounts of other gases. Biogas purification removes trace gases in biogas for safe utilisation. Biogas upgrading produces methane-rich biogas by removing bulk carbon dioxide from the gas mixture. Several carbon dioxide removal techniques can be applied for biogas upgrading. However, chemical absorption of carbon dioxide for biogas upgrading is of special significance due to its operation at ambient or near ambient temperature and pressure, thus reducing energy consumption. This paper reviews the chemical absorption of carbon dioxide using amine scrubbing, caustic solvent scrubbing, and amino acid salt solution scrubbing. Each of these techniques for biogas upgrading is discussed. The paper concludes that an optimised implementation of the chemical absorption techniques for biogas upgrading requires further research.Fouad R.H. 13Isolation and characterization of marine-derived actinomycetes with cytotoxic activity from the Red Sea coast显示文摘Objective: To isolate and evaluate the cytotoxic activity of different actinomycetes species isolated from the Red Sea coast in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.Methods: Forty actinomycetes strains were isolated from different sediments and seawater samples collected from the Red Sea coast in Egypt. Actinomycetes were recognized by morphological and microscopic examinations. Cell viability and cytotoxicity induced by the crude extracts on breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 were assessed using methylene blue assay. The strains with promising cytotoxic activity were identified by sequencing and amplifying the 16 S r RNA genes. The antibacterial activities of the crude extracts were performed using Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion method.Results: The results indicated that five ethyl acetate extracts exhibited cytotoxicity towards breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231. The highest cytotoxic activity was found for the ethyl acetate extracts of EGY2 and EGY39. The isolate EGY3 was identified as a new Streptomyces species, while the actinomycete EGY22 was found to be a member of the genus Nocardiopsis sp. The crude extract of the isolate EGY8 showed slightly high antimicrobial activity against different test microorganisms.Conclusions: The results of the present study reveal that marine sediments of the Red Sea are a potent source of novel species of actinomycetes. 16血清血脂分析结果与2型糖尿病患者视网膜硬性渗出的关系(英文)显示文摘目的:研究血脂分析结果与糖尿病性视网膜病之间的关系,以及2型糖尿患者合并其他系统疾病之间氧化低密度脂蛋白的关系。方法:横断面研究,包括40位糖尿病并糖尿病性视网膜病患者和40位糖尿病不并有糖尿病性视网膜病患者。收集人口学资料,进行详细眼科检查。空腹采集9mL静脉血,分析血清胆固醇,甘油三酯,高密度脂蛋白,低密度脂蛋白,氧化低密度脂蛋白和糖化血红蛋白。结果:糖尿病性视网膜病组平均血清胆固醇为5.9±1.86mmol/L,非糖尿病性视网膜病组为5.0±1.03mmol/L(P=0.001)。糖尿病性视网膜病组血清低密度脂蛋白为3.6±1.69mmol/L,而对照组为3.0±1.02mmol/L(P=0.005)。与轻至中度视网膜硬性渗出患者比较,重度视网膜硬性渗出患者血清胆固醇,甘油三酯和低密度脂蛋白较高,但是差异无统计学意义(P=0.082, 0.116, 0.218)。重度硬性渗出患者的平均血清氧化低密度脂蛋白较轻至中度者高。糖尿病病史长短以及是否合并其他系统疾病之间平均氧化低密度脂蛋白无统计学显著性差异。结论:血清胆固醇和低密度脂蛋白与糖尿病性视网膜病显著相关,而血清血脂分析结果与视网膜硬性渗出严重度不相关。我们研究发现,血清氧化低密度脂蛋白与糖尿病性视网膜病及合并的其他系统疾病之间无相关关系。Amelah Mohamed Abdul Qader Zunaina Embong Bakiah Shaharuddin Shahrul Bariyah Sahul Hamid Shatriah Ismail 2009国际眼科杂志2009,9,4:3
17Current systematic reviews and meta-analyses of COVID-19显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has left a significant impact on the world's health,economic and political systems;as of November 20,2020,more than 57 million people have been infected worldwide,with over 1.3 million deaths.While the global spotlight is currently focused on combating this pandemic through means ranging from finding a treatment among existing therapeutic agents to inventing a vaccine that can aid in halting the further loss of life.AIM To collect all systematic reviews and meta-analyses published related to COVID-19 to better identify available evidence,highlight gaps in knowledge,and elucidate further meta-analyses and umbrella reviews that are yet to be performed.METHODS We explored studies based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses with the keyterms,including severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS),SARS virus,coronavirus disease,COVID-19,and SARS coronavirus-2.The included studies were extracted from Embase,Medline,and Cochrane databases.The publication timeframe of included studies ranged between January 01,2020,to October 30,2020.Studies that were published in languages other than English were not considered for this systematic review.The finalized full-text articles are freely accessible in the public domain.RESULTS Searching Embase,Medline,and Cochrane databases resulted in 1906,669,and 19 results,respectively,that comprised 2594 studies.515 duplicates were subsequently removed,leaving 2079 studies.The inclusion criteria were systematic reviews or meta-analyses.860 results were excluded for being a review article,scope review,rapid review,panel review,or guideline that produced a total of 1219 studies.After screening articles were categorized,the included articles were put into main groups of clinical presentation,epi-demiology,screening and diagnosis,severity assessment,special populations,and treatment.Subsequently,there was a second subclassification into the following groups:gastrointestinal,cardiovascular,neurological,stroke,thrombosis,anosmia and dysgeusia,ocular manifestations,nephrology,cutaneous manifestations,D-dimer,lymphocyte,anticoagulation,antivirals,convalescent plasma,immunosuppressants,corticosteroids,hydroxychloroquine,renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system,technology,diabetes mellitus,obesity,pregnancy,children,mental health,smoking,cancer,and transplant.CONCLUSION Among the included articles,it is clear that further research is needed regarding treatment options and vaccines.With more studies,data will be less heterogeneous,and statistical analysis can be better applied to provide more robust clinical evidence.This study was not designed to give recommendations regarding the management of COVID-19.Mahmoud Nassar Nso Nso Mostafa Alfishawy Anastasia Novikov Salim Yaghi Luis Medina Bahtiyar Toz Sofia Lakhdar Zarwa Idrees Yungmin Kim Dawa Ongyal Gurung Raheel S Siddiqui David Zheng Mariam Agladze Vikram Sumbly Jasmine Sandhu Francisco Cuevas Castillo Nadya Chowdhury Ravali Kondaveeti Sakil Bhuiyan Laura Guzman Perez Riki Ranat Carlos Gonzalez Harangad Bhangoo John Williams Alaa Eldin Osman Joyce Kong Jonathan Ariyaratnam Mahmoud Mohamed Ismail Omran Mariely Lopez Akwe Nyabera Ian Landry Saba Iqbal Anoosh Zafar Gondal Sameen Hassan Ahmed Daoud Bahaaeldin Baraka Theo Trandafirescu Vincent Rizzo 2021World Journal of Virology2021,10,4:2
18Effect of hand hygiene intervention on the absenteeism of pre-school children in Klang Valley,Malaysia:a quasi-experimental study显示文摘Background Absenteeism amongst pre-school children is often due to illnesses such as hand,foot,and mouth disease,acute gastroenteritis,cold and flu,which are easily spread amongst them.This is because of weak immunity and lack of knowledge on proper hand hygiene.This quasi-experimental study assessed the efficacy of an intervention consisting of a hand hygiene education programme,along with digital tools in bringing about a change in behaviour and health conditions amongst pre-school children in Klang Valley,Malaysia.Methods A total of 377 school children,male and female,aged 5–6 years old,participated and were assigned to either the intervention or a control group.During the 2 months intervention period,children in the test group were trained on proper hand hygiene practices and techniques with the aid of the interactive android-based tablets.The numbers of absent days of all the children were recorded for 2 months before the intervention and during the intervention.Results In the test group,there was a 25%increase in the total number of absent days from the pre-intervention period to the intervention period,a much lesser increment observed as compared to that of control group in which the increase was much higher at 89%.Results showed a significant difference(P<0·05)between the absenteeism rates for the test and control group during the intervention period.Conclusion These results suggest that proper education and intervention increase hand hygiene compliance,which may help decrease school absenteeism due to illness;however,a longer study duration may be necessary to evaluate the benefit further.Nurul Azmawati Mohamed Mohd Dzulkhairi Mohd Rani Tengku Zetty Maztura Tengku Jamaluddin Zarini Ismail Shalinawati Ramli Habibah Faroque Farisha Nur Abd Samad Abdul Rashid Ariffien Aisyah Ar Redha Che Amir FaridIlina Isahak 2020World Journal of Pediatrics2020,16,4:2

20Preparation of capped silver nanoparticles using sunlight and cationic surfactants and their biological activity显示文摘Silver nanoparticles were prepared in situ using sunlight and cationic surfactants. Silver nano-particles were confirmed using UV–vis spectrophotometry, transmission electron microscopy(TEM), electron diffraction, dynamic light scattering(DLS) and FTIR. Increasing the hydrophobic chain length of surfactants increase the amount of silver nano-particles formed in addition to increasing their stability.The results showed formed, uniform, well arranged hexagonal and spherical shapes.
