Age and Gender Classification Using Backpropagation and Bagging Algorithms显示文摘Voice classification is important in creating more intelligent systems that help with student exams, identifying criminals, and security systems. The main aim of the research is to develop a system able to predicate and classify gender, age, and accent. So,a newsystem calledClassifyingVoice Gender,Age,and Accent(CVGAA)is proposed.Backpropagation and bagging algorithms are designed to improve voice recognition systems that incorporate sensory voice features such as rhythm-based features used to train the device to distinguish between the two gender categories. It has high precision compared to other algorithms used in this problem,as the adaptive backpropagation algorithm had an accuracy of 98%and the Bagging algorithm had an accuracy of 98.10%in the gender identification data.Bagging has the best accuracy among all algorithms, with 55.39%accuracy in the voice common dataset and age classification and accent accuracy in a speech accent of 78.94%. | Ammar Almomani Mohammed Alweshah Waleed Alomoush Mohammad Alauthman Aseel Jabai Anwar Abbass Ghufran Hamad Meral Abdalla Brij B.Gupta | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,2: | 0
Bullying Among School Students in the UAE Society显示文摘The purpose of this study is to research the bullying phenomenon among school students in the UAE society. This is done through showing the extent of prevalence of bullying, the rate of recurrence of bullying incidences, the most widespread forms of bullying among school children in the Emirati society, and finally, the variation with regards to the prevalence and forms of bullying as related to the student’s gender. Therefore, this study aims to probe the prevalence of this phenomenon in schools, and the frequency of bullying cases as well as its forms. For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed and conducted on a sample size of 1,309 students of both genders. The data were later analyzed using descriptive statistical and analytical metrics that are appropriate for the variables’ measurement level, and which achieve the objectives of the study. The study found that a third of the students (33.3%) were involved in bullying incidents. Furthermore, it was found that 14.2% were the party causing the bullying incident, while 19.1% were the party upon which bullying was inflicted. The study also revealed that within school premises the places where bullying was most likely to occur are corridors, and the places which students felt were the least safe are the closed spaces. As for the forms of bullying students are subjected to, offensive name calling or insults came in first place, followed by cyber/online bullying. The young age and smaller size of a student were among the most important motivators for students to bully him/her. It was also found that 32.8% of students who are exposed to bullying respond in a similar manner. The study showed that most of the bullied students (78.4%) know the person doing the bullying, the females being more cognizant of the perpetrator bullying them. Moreover, 40.7% of the students believe that the teachers and other employees are aware of the bullying taking place, female students to a greater extent than males in this regard. In the study sample, the students believe that strong and strict school administration would contribute to stopping the bullying phenomenon. The study additionally concluded a number of recommendations to reduce this phenomenon. | Ahmad Falah Alomosh Salama Mohammad Alrahoomi Moudi Mohamed Hamad Alshamsi Omaima Daham Shaban Alani | 2019 | Psychology Research2019,9,2: | 0
Mice lacking perforin have improved regeneration of the injured femoral nerve显示文摘The role that the immune system plays after injury of the peripheral nervous system is still not completely understood.Perforin,a natural killer cell-and T-lymphocyte-derived enzyme that mediates cytotoxicity, plays important roles in autoimmune diseases, infections and central nervous system trauma, such as spinal cord injury. To dissect the roles of this single component of the immune response to injury,we tested regeneration after femoral nerve injury in perforin-deficient(Pfp^(-/-))and wild-type control mice.Single frame motion analysis showed better motor recovery in Pfp^(-/-)mice compared with control mice at 4 and 8 weeks after injury.Retrograde tracing of the motoneuron axons regrown into the motor nerve branch demonstrated more correctly projecting motoneurons in the spinal cord of Pfp^(-/-)mice compared with wild-types.Myelination of regrown axons measured by g-ratio was more extensive in Pfp^(-/-)than in wild-type mice in the motor branch of the femoral nerve.Pfp^(-/-)mice displayed more cholinergic synaptic terminals around cell bodies of spinal motoneurons after injury than the injured wild-types.We histologically analyzed lymphocyte infiltration 10 days after surgery and found that in Pfp^(-/-)mice the number of lymphocytes in the regenerating nerves was lower than in wild-types,suggesting a closed blood-nerve barrier in Pfp^(-/-)mice.We conclude that perforin restricts motor recovery after femoral nerve injury owing to decreased survival of motoneurons and reduced myelination. | Igor Jakovčevski Monika von Düring David Lutz Maja Vulović Mohammad Hamad Gebhard Reiss Eckart Förster Melitta Schachner | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,8: | 0
Isolated lateral leg compartment syndrome:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Acute leg compartment syndrome is a well-known orthopedic emergency associated with potentially devastating consequences if not treated immediately.Multiple compartments are usually involved with a clear history of trauma and classic symptoms and signs. However, isolated lateral leg compartment syndrome is relatively rare and is often misdiagnosed due to the atypical presentation of no trauma and the lack of pathognomonic signs.CASE SUMMARY A 31-year-old male patient presented to our emergency room with excruciating left calf pain and inability to mobilize one-day after participating in a football match despite no clear history of preceding trauma. The patient went to another hospital before presenting to us where he was diagnosed to have a soft tissue injury and was discharged home on simple analgesics. On clinical examination, the left leg showed a tense lateral compartment with severe tenderness. The pain was aggravated by dorsiflexion and ankle inversion.Neurovascular examination of the limb was normal. We suspected a compartment syndrome but as the presentation was atypical and an magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)was readily available in our institution,we immediately performed an MRI and this confirmed a large hematoma in the lateral compartment with a possible partial proximal peroneus longus muscle tear. The patient was taken immediately for an emergency open fasciotomy. The patient is now 18 mo postoperatively having recovered completely and engages fully in sports with no restrictions.CONCLUSION Atypical presentation due to the lack of pathognomonic signs makes the diagnosis of isolated lateral leg compartment syndrome difficult.Pain on passive inversion and dorsiflexion and weak active eversion may be suggested as sensitive signs. | Majd M Alrayes Mohammad Alqudah Walaa Bani Hamad Mohamed Sukeik | 2023 | World Journal of Orthopedics2023,14,7: | 0

A Novel Capability of Object Identification and Recognition Based on Integrated mWMM显示文摘In the last decade, there has been remarkable progress in the areas of object detection and recognition due to high-quality color images along with their depth maps provided by RGB-D cameras. They enable artificially intelligent machines to easily detect and recognize objects and make real-time decisions according to the given scenarios.Depth cues can improve the quality of object detection and recognition. The main purpose of this research study to find an optimized way of object detection and identification we propose techniques of object detection using two RGB-D datasets. The proposed methodology extracts image normally from depth maps and then performs clustering using the Modified Watson Mixture Model(mWMM).mWMM is challenging to handle when the quality of the image is not good.Hence, the proposed RGB-D-based system uses depth cues for segmentation with the help of mWMM.Then it extracts multiple features from the segmented images. The selected features are fed to the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)for detecting objects. We achieved 92.13%of mean accuracy over NYUv1 dataset and 90.00%of mean accuracy for the Redweb_v1 dataset. Finally, their results are compared and the proposed model with CNN outperforms other state-of-the-art methods. The proposed architecture can be used in autonomous cars, traffic monitoring, and sports scenes. | MZeeshan Sarwar Mohammed Hamad Alatiyyah Ahmad Jalal Mohammad Shorfuzzaman Nawal Alsufyani Jeongmin Park | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,4: | 0
