1Biomechanical and biological responses of periodontium in orthodontic tooth movement:up-date in a new decade显示文摘Nowadays,orthodontic treatment has become increasingly popular.However,the biological mechanisms of orthodontic tooth movement(OTM)have not been fully elucidated.We were aiming to summarize the evidences regarding the mechanisms of OTM.Firstly,we introduced the research models as a basis for further discussion of mechanisms.Secondly,we proposed a new hypothesis regarding the primary roles of periodontal ligament cells(PDLCs)and osteocytes involved in OTM mechanisms and summarized the biomechanical and biological responses of the periodontium in OTM through four steps,basically in OTM temporal sequences,as follows:(1)Extracellular mechanobiology of periodontium:biological,mechanical,and material changes of acellular components in periodontium under orthodontic forces were introduced.(2)Cell strain:the sensing,transduction,and regulation of mechanical stimuli in PDLCs and osteocytes.(3)Cell activation and differentiation:the activation and differentiation mechanisms of osteoblast and osteoclast,the force-induced sterile inflammation,and the communication networks consisting of sensors and effectors.(4)Tissue remodeling:the remodeling of bone and periodontal ligament(PDL)in the compression side and tension side responding to mechanical stimuli and root resorption.Lastly,we talked about the clinical implications of the updated OTM mechanisms,regarding optimal orthodontic force(OOF),acceleration of OTM,and prevention of root resorption.Yuan Li Qi Zhan Minyue Bao Jianru Yi Yu Li 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,2:15
2The Performance of Whole Genome Amplification Methods and Next-Generation Sequencing for Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis of Chromosomal Abnormalities显示文摘Reliable and accurate pre-implantation genetic diagnosis(PGD) of patient's embryos by next-generation sequencing(NGS) is dependent on efficient whole genome amplification(WGA) of a representative biopsy sample. However, the performance of the current state of the art WGA methods has not been evaluated for sequencing. Using low template DNA(15 pg) and single cells, we showed that the two PCR-based WGA systems Sure Plex and MALBAC are superior to the REPLI-g WGA multiple displacement amplification(MDA) system in terms of consistent and reproducible genome coverage and sequence bias across the 24 chromosomes, allowing better normalization of test to reference sequencing data. When copy number variation sequencing(CNV-Seq) was applied to single cell WGA products derived by either Sure Plex or MALBAC amplification, we showed that known disease CNVs in the range of 3e15 Mb could be reliably and accurately detected at the correct genomic positions. 3Maximum Likelihood Estimator of the Parameter for a Continuous One-Parameter Exponential Family Under the Optimal Ranked Set Sampling显示文摘This paper studies a maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the parameter for a continuous one-parameter exponential family under ranked set sampling(RSS). The authors first find the optimal RSS according to the character of the family, viz, arrange the RSS based on quasi complete and sufficient statistic of independent and identically distributed(iid) samples. Then under this RSS, some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the MLE, which are easily used in practice,are obtained. Using these conditions, the existence and uniqueness of the MLEs of the parameters for some usual distributions in this family are proved. 4Developing Agroforestry in Slopelands to Combat Non-point Pollution in China显示文摘The status of agricultural non-point source (NPS) pollution in China is quite austere owing to lots of factors, the characteristics of which include severe N, P eutrophications in water bodies, unsuitable structure of agriculture and the lack of reasonable management. It was well known that forest could play an important role to control soil & water erosion, uptake extra soil nutrients as well. However forest coverage is rather low in the headwaters region. The research on the causes of NSP pollution and the significance by developing agroforestry to deal with the problem is presented in the paper, as well as the function of agroforestry and the related measures of pollution controlling, e.g., riparian forest buffer zones building. As a conclusion, controlling the loss of soil and water is regarded as an important crucial action and major research direction in the field. 5Effects of Carboxymethyl-Chitosan on Wound Healing in vivo and in vitro显示文摘Effects of carboxymethyl-chitosan with different molecular weights on wound healing were investigated in vivo and in vitro.A second degree burn model was performed in rats and the accelerative effects of carboxymethyl-chitosan on wound repair were observed.Contents of transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1,interleukin(IL)-6 and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-1 in wounds were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).In vitro study evaluated the influence of carboxy-methyl-chitosan on cytokines secretion of fibroblasts and macrophages.In vivo results showed that carboxymethyl-chitosan effec-tively accelerated the wound healing process in burned rats(P<0.05).Levels of TGF-β1,IL-6 and MMP-1 in carboxymethyl-chitosan groups were significantly elevated,compared with control group(P<0.05).In vitro results indicated that carboxymethyl-chitosan significantly promoted the proliferation of fibroblasts and stimulated its IL-8 and IL-10 secretion at different incubation time,but it did not affect collagen secretion of fibroblasts.Carboxymethyl-chitosan enhanced phagocytosis ability of macrophages,and in-creased its tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α secretion.In conclusion,carboxymethyl-chitosan promoted wound healing by activating macrophages,accelerating fibroblasts growth and exerting considerable effects on the secretion of a series of cytokines.PENG Sikai LIU Wanshun HAN Baoqin CHANG Jing LI Minyu ZHI Xuan 2011Journal of Ocean University of China2011,10,4:7
6Association of interleukin-12 p40 gene 3'-untranslated region polymorphism and outcome of HCV infection显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of interleukin-12 p40 gene (IL12E 3'-untranslated region polymorphism on the outcome of HCV infection.METHODS: A total of 133 patients who had been infected with HCV for 12-25 (18.2±3.8) years, were enrolled in this study. Liver biochemical tests were performed with an automated analyzer and HCV RNA was detected by fluorogenic quantitative polymerase chain reaction. B-mode ultrasound was used for liver examination. Polymerase chain reactionrestriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used for the detection of IL12B (1188A/C) polymorphism.RESULTS: Self-limited infection was associated with AC genotype (OR = 3.48; P = 0.001) and persistent infection was associated with AA genotype (OR = 0.34; P = 0.014)at site 1188 of IL12B. In patients with persistent HCV infection, no significant differences were found regarding the age, gender, duration of infection and biochemical characteristics (P>0.05). According to B-mode ultrasound imaging and clinical diagnosis, patients with persistent infection were divided into groups based on the severity of infection. 7Fouling corrosion in aluminum heat exchangers显示文摘Fouling deposits on aluminum heat exchanger reduce the heat transfer efficiency and cause corrosion to the apparatus.This study focuses on the corrosive behavior of aluminum coupons covered with a layer of artificial fouling in a humid atmosphere by their weight loss,Tafel plots,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),and scanning electron microscope(SEM)observations.The results reveal that chloride is one of the major elements found in the fouling which damages the passive film and initiates corrosion.The galvanic corrosion between the metal and the adjacent carbon particles accelerates the corrosive process.Furthermore,the black carbon favors the moisture uptake,and gives the dissolved oxygen greater chance to migrate through the fouling layer and form a continuous diffusive path.The corrosion rate decreasing over time is conformed to electrochemistry measurements and can be verified by Faraday’s law.The EIS results indicate that the mechanism of corrosion can be interpreted by the pitting corrosion evolution mechanism,and that pitting was observed on the coupons by SEM after corrosive exposure.Su Jingxin Ma Minyu Wang Tianjing Guo Xiaomei Hou Liguo Wang Zhiping 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,3:5
8Collaborative target tracking in WSNs using the combination of maximum likelihood estimation and Kalman filtering显示文摘Target tracking using wireless sensor networks requires efficient collaboration among sensors to tradeoff between energy consumption and tracking accuracy. This paper presents a collaborative target tracking approach in wireless sensor networks using the combination of maximum likelihood estimation and the Kalman filter. The cluster leader converts the received nonlinear distance measurements into linear observation model and approximates the covariance of the converted measurement noise using maximum likelihood estimation, then applies Kalman filter to recursively update the target state estimate using the converted measurements. Finally, a measure based on the Fisher information matrix of maximum likelihood estimation is used by the leader to select the most informative sensors as a new tracking cluster for further tracking. Indeed, the tumour microenvironment resembles a battlefield, where the patient's immune cells are the defence against invading tumour cells. However, the relationship between different immune components of the host response to cancer is more complex than an 'us against them' model. 10Effects of grazing disturbance of spatial distribution pattern and interspecies relationship of two desert shrubs显示文摘Grazing significantly affects the distribution,growth,and productivity of shrubs.In this study,we evalu-ated the effects of grazing disturbance on the spatial distri-bution patterns and interspecific relationships of two desert shrubs,Ammopiptanthus mongolicus and Sarcozygium xan-thoxylon.Three types of grazing conditions were considered,including enclosed area(EA),seasonal rotational grazing area(SRGA),and grazing area(GA)(100 m×100 m),in the West Ordos Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia,China.The results showed that A.mongolicus and S.xanthoxylon populations were uniformly distributed at a small scale,and the distribution in EA and SRGA became gradually ran-dom.In GA,A.mongolicus population showed aggregated distribution but S.xanthoxylon population showed random distribution at a small scale. Moreover, both A. mongolicus and S. xanthoxylon populations at the 5-7 m scale showed random distribution. At the small and intermediate scales, the two species showed positive interspecific relationships of GA. However, no interspecific relationship was noted between the two species in EA and SRGA. A significant positive relationship (P < 0.01) was noted between the two species at 2-9 m and a negative relationship (P < 0.01) at 13-17 m scales in GA. Positive relationship (P < 0.01) was noted between the two species at 6-13 m scales and a sig-nificant negative relationship (P < 0.01) at 14-24 m scales in SRGA. The two species of desert shrubs showed posi-tive interspecific relationships at the small scale, and they showed negative relationships as the interspecific compe-tition intensified in the presence of grazing disturbance. When the grazing intensity exceeds a certain threshold, the interspecific relationships become weak. 12A strategy of screening and binding analysis of bioactive components from traditional Chinese medicine based on surface plasmon resonance biosensor显示文摘Elucidating the active components of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is essential for understanding the mechanisms of TCM and promote its rational use as well as TCM-derived drug development.Recent studies have shown that surface plasmon resonance(SPR)technology is promising in this field.In the present study,we propose an SPR-based integrated strategy to screen and analyze the major active components of TCM.We used Radix Paeoniae Alba(RPA)as an example to identify the compounds that can account for its anti-inflammatory mechanism via tumor necrosis factor receptor type 1(TNF-R1).First,RPA extraction was analyzed using an SPR-based screening system,and the potential active ingredients were collected,enriched,and identified as paeoniflorin and paeonol.Next,the affinity constants of paeoniflorin and paeonol were determined as 4.9 and 11.8 mM,respectively.Then,SPR-based competition assays and molecular docking were performed to show that the two compounds could compete with tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a)while binding to the subdomain 1 site of TNF-R1.Finally,in biological assays,the two compounds suppressed cytotoxicity and apoptosis induced by TNF-a in the L929 cell line.These findings prove that SPR technology is a useful tool for determining the active ingredients of TCM at the molecular level and can be used in various aspects of drug development.The SPR-based integrated strategy is reliable and feasible in TCM studies and will shed light on the elucidation of the pharmacological mechanism of TCM and facilitate its modernization.Diya Lv Jin Xu Minyu Qi DongyaoWang Weiheng Xu Lei Qiu Yinghua Li Yan Cao 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,3:3
13Proteomic response analysis of endothelial cells of human coronary artery to stimulation with carbachol显示文摘AIM: To identify the molecular basis of the endothelial target for acetylcholine (ETA). METHODS: Proteomic methods were used to monitor changes in protein expression in the first 10h following the stimulation of human coronary endothelial cells with carbachol 100μmol/L. Thirty proteins showing the largest changes were identified by mass spectrometry. RESULTS: Based on analysis with Image Master 2-D Elite software, about 623 protein spots were detected in control cells and 825 protein spots in carbachol-treated cells, the matching rate was 68.1%. Among all the detected spots, 39 were up-regulated and 29 were down-regulated, showing detectable changes varied from 1.7-3.8 folds. Forty one spots in the peptide mass fingerprints were successfully obtained. 15Intercalation Assembly, Characterization and Luminescent Properties of Novel Supramolecular Composite Materials, Tb(Ⅲ) Complex with Tetrapodal Ligand-Montmorillonite显示文摘Two kinds of Tb(Ⅲ) complexes with tetrapodal ligand, [TbL(NO3)] 3+ and [TbL] 3+ (L: 1,1,1′,1′-tera(2-pyridinecarboxylester)-di(trimethylpropane)) were intercalated into the interlayer space of montmorillonite (MT) by ion exchange and coordination reaction of L with the Tb 3+ ion existing in the interlayer space of Tb-MT respectively. The obtained luminescent supramolecular composite materials, [TbL(NO3)] 2+ -MT and [TbL] 3+ -MT were characterized by elemental analysis, XRD, FT-IR, UV-vis and thermal analysis. At the same time, the luminescent properties of the materials were also studied. The results show that the intercalated materials with regular layered structure, good thermal stability and the interlayer spacing (d 001 ) approximates to the size of the complex ions which are located in the interlayer space of MT in the form of a monolayer. The material emit characteristic green emission of Tb 3+ strongly under excitation of ultraviolet light. It is also found that the thermal stabilities and relative luminescence intensities of the Tb 3+ species are distinctly improved after the Tb(Ⅲ) complexes are intercalated into the MT. 16Consensus for high-order multi-agent systems with communication delay显示文摘In this study, consensus problem for general high-order multi-agent systems with communication delay is investigated. Given the unstable agent dynamics and a known communication delay, two consensus protocols are designed to guarantee consensus over undirected network. By jointly researching the effects of agent dynamics and network topology, allowable delay bounds depending on the maxima of concave functions are easy to calculate. Especially, the maximum delay bound is derived when the network topology is completely connected. The main approach for the same involves designing the control gains on the basis of the solution of a parametric algebraic Riccati equation. 17The spatial-temporal differentiation of green land use in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration显示文摘As the space carrier of the construction of ecological civilization, land's green and efficient utilization is an important guarantee for realizing national sustainable development. Based on traditional land evaluation, this paper scientifically defines the green land use, puts land as one of the production factors, and brings energy consumption, environmental pollution, etc. into the input-output system to measure the green land utilization efficiency of the urban construction land of Beijing-TianjinHebei Urban Agglomeration from 2006 to 2016. The study shows that the overall efficiency variation of the urban agglomeration is related with the land and environment policies. Efficiency of 2016 is higher than that of 2006, and energy and environment are the principal factors affecting the green land use. The efficiency of each city is positively correlated with its economic development, negatively correlated with the construction land expansion. Efficiency gaps in different cities are expanding.There is positive correlation with overall weak space between cities, and the partial spatial agglomeration phenomenon appears. 18Convergence Rate Analysis of Gaussian Belief Propagation for Markov Networks显示文摘Gaussian belief propagation algorithm(GaBP) is one of the most important distributed algorithms in signal processing and statistical learning involving Markov networks. It is well known that the algorithm correctly computes marginal density functions from a high dimensional joint density function over a Markov network in a finite number of iterations when the underlying Gaussian graph is acyclic. It is also known more recently that the algorithm produces correct marginal means asymptotically for cyclic Gaussian graphs under the condition of walk summability(or generalised diagonal dominance). This paper extends this convergence result further by showing that the convergence is exponential under the generalised diagonal dominance condition,and provides a simple bound for the convergence rate.
