| 1 | Characterization of Soil Quality Under Vegetable Production Along an Urban-Rural Gradient显示文摘Human activity and urbanization result in urban-rural environmental gradients. Understanding effect of the gradients on soil properties is necessary for management of the soils around urban areas. In this study, soil quality of some vegetable fields was characterized along an urban-rural gradient in Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province. Fifteen soil physical and chemical properties were evaluated by using principal component analysis.Results showed that there was a great variation in the soil quality along the gradient. From rural to urban zones, soil organic matter, water-stable aggregates, cation exchangeable capacity (CEC), total N and P, and available K increased, whereas soil pH value decreased. In addition, Pb, Cu, Ni, Co, Zn and Cr in the soils tended to be accumulated toward the urban zone. Sequential chemical extraction showed that mobility of all the heavy metals in the soils tended to increase from the rural to the urban zones. | 3 | Mineral materials as feasible amendments to stabilize heavy metals in polluted urban soils显示文摘Four minerals, agricultural limestone (AL), rock phosphate (RP), palygorskite (PG), and calcium magnesium phosphate (CMP), were evaluated by means of chemical fractions of heavy metals in soils and concentrations of heavy metals in leachates from columns to determine their ability to stabilize heavy metals in polluted urban soils. Two urban soils (calcareous soil and acidic soil) polluted with cadmium, copper, zinc and lead were selected and amended in the laboratory with the mineral materials) for 12 months. Results indicated that application of the mineral materials reduced exchangeable metals in the sequence of Pb, Cd > Cu > Zn. The reduction of exchangeable fraction of heavy metals in the soils amended with different mineral materials followed the sequence of CMP, PG > AL > RP. Reductions of heavy metals leached were based on comparison with cumulative totals of heavy metals eluted through 12 pore volumes from an untreated soil. The reductions of the metals eluted from the calcareous soil amended with the RP, AL, PG and CMP were 1.98%, 38.89%, 64.81% and 75.93% for Cd, 8.51%, 40.42%, 60.64% and 55.32% for Cu, 1.76%, 52.94%, 70.00% and 74.12% for Pb, and 28.42%, 52.74%, 64.38% and 49.66% for Zn. Those from the acidic soil amended with the CMP, PG, AL, and RP were 25.65%, 68.06%, 78.01% and 79.06% for Cd, 26.56%, 49.64%, 43.40% and 34.68% for Cu, 44.44%, 33.32%, 61.11% and 69.44% for Pb, and 18.46%, 43.77%, 41.98% and 40.68% for Zn. | 4 | Effect of moisture regime on the redistribution of heavy metals in paddy soil显示文摘Sequential extraction procedure was applied to assess the dynamics of solid-phase transformation of added Cu,Pb,Cd,and Hg in a typical Chinese paddy soil incubated under three moisture regimes (75% field capacity,wetting-drying cycle,and flooding).The heavy metals spiked in the soil were time-dependently transferred from the easily extractable fraction (the exchangeable fraction) into less labile fractions (Fe-Mn oxide-and organic matter-bound fractions),and thus reduced lability of the metals.No significant changes were found for the carbonate-bound and residual fractions of the heavy metals in the soil during the whole incubation.Change rate of the mobility factor (MF),a proportion of weakly bound fractions (exchangeable and carbonate-bound) in the total metal of soil,reflected the transformation rate of metal speciation from the labile fractions toward stable fractions.It was found that soil moisture regime did not change the direction and pathways of transformation of metal speciation,but it significantly affected the transformation rate.In general,the paddy soil under flooding regime had higher metal reactivity compared with 75% field capacity and wetting-drying cycle regimes,resulting in the more complete movement of metals toward stable fractions.This might be related to the increased pH,precipitation of the metals with sulfides and higher concentration of amorphous Fe oxides under submerged condition. | Shunan Zheng Mingkui Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,3: | 27 |
| 5 | Phosphorus Concentration and Forms in Surface and Subsurface Drainage Water from Wetland Rice Fields in the Shaoxing Plain显示文摘Phosphorus (P) is the limiting factor for eutrophication in most freshwater ecosystems. In China, Ptransported from intensively cultivated land has been reported as an important source of P in surface waters.In this study, we investigated P concentration and forms in surface and subsurface drainage from wetland ricefields in the Shaoxing plain, Zhejiang Province, China. From selected rice fields, surface drainage sampleswere collected at rice-growing, non-growing and fertilization periods, and subsurface drainage samples atdrought and rewetting (irrigation or precipitation after 5~10 d drought period in the surface soils) and wet(drainage under long-term wet soil condition) periods. Water samples were characterized for their totalreactive P (TRP), dissolved reactive P (DRP) and particulate reactive P (PRP). Concentrations of the TRPand DRP in the surface drainage ranged from 0.08 to 1.50 and 0.06 to 1.27 mg L-1, respectively. The TRPand DRP were dependent on field operation activities, and decreased in the order of fertilization period >rice-growing period > non-growing period. Phosphorus concentration of runoff receiving P fertilizer can bean environmental concern. The PRP concentration in the surface drainage, ranging from 0.01 to 0.57 mgL-1, accounted for 8%~78% of the TRP. Concentration of the TRP in the subsurface drainage was from0.026 to 0.090 mg L-1, consisting of 29%~90 % of the DRP and 10%~71% of the PRP. In the droughtand rewetting period, the PRP accounted for, on average, 63% of the TRP, much higher than in the wetperiod (23%), suggesting that there was transport of P in preferential flow during drainage events after ashort-term drought period in the surface soils. | 6 | Concentrations and chemical forms of potentially toxic metals in road-deposited sediments from different zones of Hangzhou, China显示文摘The 25 road-deposited sediments were collected from five different land-use zones (industrial, residential, commercial, park, and countryside) in Hangzhou, China. The concentrations of metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in these samples were determined using ICP-AES after digestion with the mixture of HNO3-HF-HCl (aqua regia), and chemically fractionated according to the modified BCR (the European Community Bureau of Reference) sequential extraction procedure. The high metal concentration levels were detected in the sample from industrial zone and commercial zone having heavy traffic. While the low metal levels were noted in the street dust sample from residential zone, park, and countryside zone. The mobility sequence based on the sum of the BCR sequential extraction stages was: Zn (80.28%), Pb (78.68%), Cd (77.66%) > Cu (73.34%) > Mn (67.92%) > Co (41.66%) > Ni (30.36%) > Cr (21.56%), Fe (20.86%). Correlation analysis and principal component analysis were applied to the data matrix to evaluate the analytical results and to identify the possible pollution sources of metals. | 7 | Multi-scale observation and cross-scale mechanistic modeling on terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle显示文摘To predict global climate change and to implement the Kyoto Protocol for stabilizing atmospheric greenhouse gases concentrations require quantifying spatio-temporal variations in the terrestrial carbon sink accurately. During the past decade multi-scale ecological experiment and observation networks have been established using various new technologies (e.g. controlled environmental facilities, eddy covariance techniques and quantitative remote sensing), and have obtained a large amount of data about terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle. However, uncertainties in the magnitude and spatio-temporal variations of the terrestrial carbon sink and in understanding the underlying mechanisms have not been reduced significantly. One of the major reasons is that the observations and experiments were conducted at individual scales independently, but it is the interactions of factors and processes at different scales that determine the dynamics of the terrestrial carbon sink. Since experiments and observations are always conducted at specific scales, to understand cross-scale interactions requires mechanistic analysis that is best to be achieved by mechanistic modeling. However, mechanistic ecosystem models are mainly based on data from single-scale experiments and observations and hence have no capacity to simulate mechanistic cross-scale interconnection and interactions of ecosystem processes. New-generation mechanistic ecosystem models based on new ecological theoretical framework are needed to quantify the mechanisms from micro-level fast eco-physiological responses to macro-level slow acclimation in the pattern and structure in disturbed ecosystems. Multi-scale data-model fusion is a recently emerging approach to assimilate multi-scale observational data into mechanistic, dynamic modeling, in which the structure and parameters of mechanistic models for simulating cross-scale interactions are optimized using multi-scale observational data. | 8 | Impacts of land-use and climate changes on ecosystem productivity and carbon cycle in the cropping-grazing transitional zone in China显示文摘The impact of land-use/land-cover and climate changes on ecosystem productivity and carbon cycle is one of the most important issues in global change studies. In the past 20 years, the climate and land-use in China have changed significantly and have had important ecological consequences, especially in ecologically sensitive regions, e.g. the cropping-grazing transition zone (CGTZ). Here we present a study that used a process-based ecosystem model and data of land-use changes based on remote sensing and of climate change at high spatial and temporal resolution to estimate the impacts of land-use and climate changes on net primary productivity (NPP), vegetation carbon storage, soil heterotrophic respiration (HR), carbon storage and net ecosystem productivity (NEP) in the CGTZ of China. The results show that the warming and decreases in precipitation in CGTZ reduced NPP by 3.4%, increased HR by 4.3%, and re- duced annual mean total NEP by 33.7Tg from the 1980s to the 1990s. Although carbon storage in vegetation and soil was increasing because the mean NPP for the period was higher than HR, the decreasing NEP indicate that climate change reduced the carbon uptake rate. However, land-use changes in this zone caused increases in NPP by 3.8%, vegetation carbon storage by 2.4%, and annual total NEP by 0.59Tg. The land-use changes enhanced ecosystem carbon up- take, but not enough to offset the negative effect of the climate change. | 10 | Application of altimetry data assimilation on mesoscale eddies simulation显示文摘Mesoscale eddy plays an important role in the ocean circulation. In order to improve the simulation accuracy of the mesoscale eddies, a three-dimensional variation (3DVAR) data assimilation system called Ocean Variational Analysis System (OVALS) is coupled with a POM model to simulate the mesoscale eddies in the Northwest Pacific Ocean. In this system, the sea surface height anomaly (SSHA) data by satellite altimeters are assimilated and translated into pseudo temperature and salinity (T-S) profile data. Then, these profile data are taken as observation data to be assimilated again and produce the three-dimensional analysis T-S field. According to the characteristics of mesoscale eddy, the most appropriate assimilation parameters are set up and testified in this system. A ten years mesoscale eddies simulation and comparison experiment is made, which includes two schemes: assimilation and non-assimilation. | 11 | Co-transport of dissolved organic matter and heavy metals in soils induced by excessive phosphorus applications显示文摘To evaluate the effects of long-term applications of phosphorus fertilizers on mobility of dissolved organic matter(DOM) and heavy metals in agricultural soils,a sandy soil and a loamy soil were spiked with ammonium phosphate at application rates of 0,25,50,100,250,and 500 mg P per kilogram of soil.A series of 15-cm long soil columns were constructed by packing incubated soils of varying concentrations of P.The soil columns were consecutively leached by simulated rainfalls for six cycles.The contents of water extractable organic carbon in both sandy and loamy soils increased significantly with increasing rates of P applications.Relatively high rates of P applications could induce a marked increase in DOM concentrations in the leachates,the effects were larger with the sandy soil rather than with the loamy soil.Applications of P changed the partitioning of trace metals in the soil solids and the soil solutions.The increased P application rates also seemed to elevate the leaching of Cu,Cd,and Zn from soils.The concentrations of Cu,Cd,and Zn in the leachates were positively correlated with DOM,probably due to the formation of metal-DOM complexes.In contrast,Pb concentrations in the leachates were negatively correlated with DOM,and decreased with increasing rates of P applications.The boosted leaching of DOM induced by high rates of P applications was probably due to the added phosphate ions competing for adsorption sites in the soil solids with the indigenous DOM. | Mingkui Zhang Huimin Zhang | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,4: | 9 |

| 14 | Single-epoch RTK performance assessment of tightly combined BDS-2 and newly complete BDS-3显示文摘The BeiDou global navigation satellite system(BDS-3)constellation deployment has been completed on June 23,2020,with a full constellation comprising 30 satellites.In this study,we present the performance assessment of single-epoch Real-Time Kinematic(RTK)positioning with tightly combined BeiDou regional navigation satellite system(BDS-2)and BDS-3.We first investigate whether code and phase Differential Inter-System Biases(DISBs)exist between the legacy B1I/B3I signals of BDS-3/BDS-2.It is discovered that the DISBs are in fact about zero for the baselines with the same or different receiver types at their endpoints.These results imply that BDS-3 and BDS-2 are fully interoperable and can be regarded as one constellation without additional DISBs when the legacy B1I/B3I signals are used for precise relative positioning.Then we preliminarily evaluate the single-epoch short baseline RTK performance of tightly combined BDS-2 and the newly completed BDS-3.The performance is evaluated through ambiguity resolution success rate,ambiguity dilution of precision,as well as positioning accuracy in kinematic and static modes using the datasets collected in Wuhan.Experimental results demonstrate that the current BDS-3 only solutions can deliver comparable ambiguity resolution performance and much better positioning accuracy with respect to BDS-2 only solutions.Moreover,the RTK performance is much improved with tightly combined BDS-3/BDS-2,particularly in challenging or harsh conditions.The single-frequency single-epoch tightly combined BDS-3/BDS-2 solution could deliver an ambiguity resolution success rate of 96.9%even with an elevation cut-off angle of 40°,indicating that the tightly combined BDS-3/BDS-2 could achieve superior RTK positioning performance in the Asia-Pacific region.Meanwhile,the three-dimensional(East/North/Up)positioning accuracy of BDS-3 only solution(0.52 cm/0.39 cm/2.14 cm)in the kinematic test is significantly better than that of the BDS-2 only solution(0.85 cm/1.02 cm/3.01 cm)due to the better geometry of the current BDS-3 constellation.The tightly combined BDS-3/BDS-2 solution can provide the positioning accuracy of 0.52 cm,0.22 cm,and 1.80 cm,respectively. | Wanke Liu Mingkui Wu Xiaohong Zhang Wang Wang Wei Ke Zhiqin Zhu | 2021 | Satellite Navigation2021,2,1: | 4 |

| 17 | Reconstruction of the Triassic Tectonic Lithofacies Paleogeography in Qiangtang Region, Northern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China显示文摘The Triassic petrostratigraphic system and chronologic stratigraphic sketch have been updated and perfected in the Qiangtang area, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau based on the integrated 1:250000 regional geological survey and the latest research progeny. The first finished 1:3000000 Triassic tectonic lithofacies paleogeographic maps in the Qiangtang area shows that the Triassic tectonic unit in the Qiangtang area can been divided into three parts from north to south: northern Qiangtang block; Longmucuo-Shuanghu suture zone; and southern Qiangtang block. The early-middle Triassic tectonic paleogeography in the Qiangtang area is divides into three subunits: northern Qiangtang passive continental marginal basin (NQPB), Longmucuo-Shuanghu residual basin (LSRB) and southern Qiangtang residual basin (SQRB). The NQPB can be subdivided into four paleogeography units: The Tanggula-Zangxiahe shallow and bathyal sea; The Wangquanhe-Yingshuiquan carbonate platform; The Rejuechaka-Jiangaidarina littoral-shallow sea; and Qiangtang central uplift. The above units of The NQPB possess EW trend, geomorphology high in the south and low in the north, the seawater depth northward. The basinal paleo-current direction is unidirectional, and basinal tectonic subsidence center is in accord with the depo-center, located in the Tanggula-Zangxiahe belt, north of the basin. The sedimentation and tectonic evolution of the NQPB are characterized with passive continental marginal basin. The Qiangtang central orogenic denuded area (ancient land) may be as a sedimentary materials source of the NQPB. SQRB can be divided into two units: Duoma carbonate platform and southern Qiangtang neritic-deep sea. The late Triassic tectonic paleogeography in the Qiangtang area is the framework of the 'archipelagic-sea' as a whole, and it may be divided into three sub-units: northern Qiangtang back arc foreland basin(NQFB), Longmucuo-Shuanghu residual basin(LSRB) and southern Qiangtang marginal-sea basin(SQMB). Thereinto, NQFB can be divided into five paleogeography units: the Zangxiahe-Mingjinghu bathyal basin characterized with the flysch; the Tanggula shallow-sea shelf with the fine-clastics; the Juhuashang platform with carbonates; the Tumenggela-Shuanghu coastal delta with coal-bearing clastics and the Nadigangri-Geladandong arc with volcanics and tuffs. In transverse section, the NQFB fills is wedge-shaped, and the sediments characterized with thicker in north and thinner in south, and with double materials derived from the Ruolagangri orogenic belt in north and the Shuanghu central orogenic belt in south. The late Triassic depocenter of NQFB is located in the middle of the basin, the Yakecuo-Bandaohu-Quemocuo belt, but the subsidence center in the north, the Zangxiahe-Mingjinghu belt, and basinal tectonic subsidence center not concordant with the depo-center. Late Triassic, the SQMB may be divided into three sub-units: Xiaochaka shallow-sea; Riganpeicuo platform;and South Qiangtang southern bathyal basin. In transverse section, the basement of the SQMB is characterized with low in the northern and southern, but high in the middle; forming wedge shaped sediments with thicker in the north and thinner in the south; the sedimentary materials derived from the Qiangtang central uplift and Nadigangri arcs in north. | 18 | Exploring stability of formamidinium lead trihalide for solar cell application显示文摘Formamidinium lead triiodide(FAPb I3) is a promising photoactive perovskite for low-cost and efficient solar cells. This article reports on an experimental investigation on the stability of FAPb I3 by comparison with that of widely-used methylamidinium lead triiodide(MAPb I3). A hydration of the FAPb I3 with moisture could be the dominant mechanism for its degradation in air, rather than a common thermal decomposition in the MAPb I3. This can be mainly contributed to a relatively strong bond formation between formamidinium ions(FA+) and Ià. Consequently, the stability of FAPb I3 based devices can be greatly enhanced by removal moisture in the surrounding. | 20 | A New Method for Fitting Current–Voltage Curves of Planar Heterojunction Perovskite Solar Cells显示文摘Herein we propose a new equivalent circuit including double heterojunctions in series to simulate the current–voltage characteristic of P–I–N planar structure perovskite solar cells. This new method can theoretically solve the dilemma of the parameter diode ideal factor being larger than2 from an ideal single heterojunction equivalent circuit,which usually is in the range from 1 to 2. The diode ideal factor reflects PN junction quality, which influences the recombination at electron transport layer/perovskite and perovskite/hole transport layer interface. Based on the double PN junction equivalent circuit, we can also simulate the dark current–voltage curve for analyzing recombination current(Shockley–Read–Hall recombination) and diffusion current(including direct recombination), and thus carrier recombination and transportation characteristics.
