1An Examination of the Predictability of Tropical Cyclone Genesis in High-Resolution Coupled Models with Dynamically Downscaled Coupled Data Assimilation Initialization显示文摘Predicting tropical cyclone(TC)genesis is of great societal importance but scientifically challenging.It requires fineresolution coupled models that properly represent air−sea interactions in the atmospheric responses to local warm sea surface temperatures and feedbacks,with aid from coherent coupled initialization.This study uses three sets of highresolution regional coupled models(RCMs)covering the Asia−Pacific(AP)region initialized with local observations and dynamically downscaled coupled data assimilation to evaluate the predictability of TC genesis in the West Pacific.The APRCMs consist of three sets of high-resolution configurations of the Weather Research and Forecasting−Regional Ocean Model System(WRF-ROMS):27-km WRF with 9-km ROMS,and 9-km WRF with 3-km ROMS.In this study,a 9-km WRF with 9-km ROMS coupled model system is also used in a case test for the predictability of TC genesis.Since the local sea surface temperatures and wind shear conditions that favor TC formation are better resolved,the enhanced-resolution coupled model tends to improve the predictability of TC genesis,which could be further improved by improving planetary boundary layer physics,thus resolving better air−sea and air−land interactions.Mingkui LI Shaoqing ZHANG Lixin WU Xiaopei LIN Ping CHANG Gohkan DANABASOGLU Zhiqiang WEI Xiaolin YU Huiqin HU Xiaohui MA Weiwei MA Haoran ZHAO Dongning JIA Xin LIU Kai MAO Youwei MA Yingjing JIANG Xue WANG Guangliang LIU Yuhu CHEN 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,9:4
2A Review on the Regulation of Magnetic Transitions and the Related Magnetocaloric Properties in Ni-Mn-Co-Sn Alloys显示文摘In Ni-Mn-X(X=In,Sn,Sb) ferromagnetic shape memory alloys,a ferromagnetic transition from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic austenite and a martensitic transformation from ferromagnetic austenite to weak magnetic martensite occur in some particular composition ranges,in which abundant physical properties have been observed by the abrupt change of magnetization and resistivity around their transition temperatures in these alloys.Therefore,tuning the martensitic transformation temperature(TM) and enlarging the workingtemperature interval for Ni-Mn-X(X=In,Sn,Sb) alloys,are of great importance.In the present paper,we will focus on the effect of external factors,including pre-deformation,annealing,and high pressure annealing,on the magnetic transitions and the related magnetocaloric properties in Ni-Mn-Co-Sn ferromagnetic shape memory alloys.Our approaches and the main results in this particular field will be reviewed.Zhenchen Zhong Shengcan Ma Dunhui Wang Youwei Du 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,3:1
3Experimental exploration of five-qubit quantum error-correcting code with superconducting qubits显示文摘Quantum error correction is an essential ingredient for universal quantum computing.D espite tremendous experimental efforts in the study of quantum error correction,to date,there has been no demonstration in the realis ation of universal quantum error-correcting code,with the subsequent verification of all key features including the identification of an arbitrary physical error,the capability for transversal manipulation of the logical state and state decoding.To address this challenge,we experimentally realise the [5,1,3]code,the so-called smallest perfect code that permits corrections of generic single-qubit errors.In the experiment,having optimised the encoding circuit,we employ an array of superconducting qubits to realise the [5,1,3] code for several typical logical states including the magic state,an indispensable resource for realising non-Clifford gates.The encoded states are prepared with an average fidelity of 57.1(3)% while with a high fidelity of 98.6(1)% in the code space.Then,the arbitrary single-qubit errors introduced manually are identified by measuring the stabilisers.We further implement logical Pauli operations with a fidelity of 97.2(2)% within the code space.Finally,we realise the decoding circuit and recover the input state with an overall fidelity of 74.5(6)%,in total with 92 gates.Our work demonstrates each key aspect of the [5,1,3] code and verifies the viability of experimental realisation of quantum error-correcting codes with superconducting qubits.Ming Gong Xiao Yuan Shiyu Wang Yulin Wu Youwei Zhao Chen Zha Shaowei Li Zhen Zhang Qi Zhao Yunchao Liu Futian Liang Jin Lin Yu Xu Hui Deng Hao Rong He Lu Simon C.Benjamin Cheng-Zhi Peng Xiongfeng Ma Yu-Ao Chen Xiaobo Zhu Jian-Wei Pan 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:1

5Highly dispersed nickel boosts catalysis by Cu/SiO_(2) in the hydrogenation of CO_(2)-derived ethylene carbonate to methanol and ethylene glycol显示文摘The efficient hydrogenation of CO_(2)-derived ethylene carbonate(EC)to yield methanol(MeOH)and ethylene glycol(EG)is a key process for indirect conversion of CO_(2)to MeOH.However,a high H_(2)/EC molar ratio during the hydrogenation process(usually as 180-300)is generally required to achieve good catalytic performance,resulting in high cost and energy consumption for H_(2)circulation in the promising industrial application.Here,we prepared a series of Ni-modified Cu/SiO_(2)catalysts and explored the effects of synthesis methods and Ni contents on catalytic performance under different H_(2)/EC molar ratios.The Cu/SiO_(2)catalyst with 0.2%(mass)Ni loading prepared by co-ammonia evaporation method exhibited above 99%conversion of EC,91%and 98%selectivity to MeOH and EG respectively at H_(2)/EC ratio of 60.And no significant deactivation was observed within 140 h at a lower H_(2)/EC of 40.It is demonstrated that a few of Ni addition could not only promote Cu dispersion and increase surface Cu^(+) species due to the strong interaction between Cu and Ni species,but also form uniformly-dispersed CuNi alloy species and thus enhance the adsorption and dissociation of H_(2).But the excess Ni species would aggregate and segregate to cover partial surface of Cu nanoparticles,leading to a significantly drop of catalytic performance in EC hydrogenation.These insights may provide guidance for further design of catalysts for the ester hydrogenation reactions.Youwei Yang Jingyu Zhang Yueqi Gao Busha Assaba Fayisa Antai Li Shouying Huang Jing Lv Yue Wang Xinbin Ma 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,3:0
6Heme oxygenase-1/carbon monoxide signaling participates in the accumulation of triterpenoids of Ganoderma lucidum显示文摘Ganoderic triterpenoids(GTs)are the primary bioactive constituents of the Basidiomycotina fungus,Ganoderma lucidum.These compounds exhibit antitumor,anti-hyperlipidemic,and immune-modulatory pharmacological activities.This study focused on GT accumulation in mycelia of G.lucidum mediated by the heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)/carbon monoxide(CO)signaling.Compared with the control,hemin(10μmol/L)induced an increase of 60.1%in GT content and 57.1%in HO-1 activity.Moreover,carbon monoxide-releasing molecule-2(CORM-2),CO donor,increased GT content by 56.0%and HO-1 activity by 18.1%.Zn protoporphyrin IX(ZnPPIX),a specific HO-1 inhibitor,significantly reduced GT content by 26.0%and HO-1 activity by 15.8%,while hemin supplementation reversed these effects.Transcriptome sequencing showed that HO-1/CO could function directly as a regulator involved in promoting GT accumulation by regulating gene expression in the mevalonate pathway,and modulating the reactive oxygen species(ROS)and Ca2+pathways.The results of this study may help enhance large-scale GT production and support further exploration of GT metabolic networks and relevant signaling cross-talk.Meilin CUI Yuchang MA Youwei YU 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,11:0
7Pt-modulated Cu/SiO_(2) catalysts for efficient hydrogenation of CO_(2)-derived ethylene carbonate to methanol and ethylene glycol显示文摘Copper-based catalysts were widely used in the heterogeneous selective hydrogenation of ethylene carbonate(EC),a key step in the indirect conversion of CO_(2) to methanol.However,a high H_(2)/EC molar ratio in feed is required to achieve favorable activity and the methanol selectivity still needs to be improved.Herein,we fabricated a series of Pt-modulated Cu/SiO_(2) catalysts and investigated their catalytic performance for hydrogenation of EC in a fixed bed reactor.By modulating the Pt amount,the optimal 0.2Pt-Cu/SiO_(2) catalyst exhibited the highest catalytic performance with99%EC conversion,over 98%selectivity to ethylene glycol and 95.8%selectivity to methanol at the H_(2)/EC ratio as low as 60 in feed.In addition,0.2Pt-Cu/SiO_(2) catalyst showed excellent stability for 150 h on stream over different H_(2)/EC ratios of 180-40.It is demonstrated a proper amount of Pt could significantly lower the H_(2)/EC molar ratio,promote the reducibility and dispersion of copper,and also enhance surface density of Cu+species.This could be due to the strong interaction of Cu and Pt induced by formation of alloyed Pt single atoms on the Cu lattice.Meanwhile,a relatively higher amount of Pt would deteriorate the catalytic activity,which could be due to the surface coverage and aggregation of active species.These findings may enlighten some fundamental insights for further design of Cu-based catalysts for the hydrogenation of carbon–oxygen bonds.Busha Assaba Fayisa Yushan Xi Youwei Yang Yueqi Gao Antai Li Mei-Yan Wang Jing Lv Shouying Huang Yue Wang Xinbin Ma 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,1:0
