Case study on stratospheric and mesospheric concentric gravity waves generated by deep convection显示文摘Concentric gravity waves(CGWs)in the middle and upper atmosphere show wave-coupling processes between the lower atmosphere and the middle and upper atmosphere. In this research,we analyzed a case of CGWs detected simultaneously by the AIRS(Atmospheric Infrared Sounder)and the VIIRS/DNB(Day/Night Band of the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite)in the stratosphere and mesosphere. Results showed that gravity waves(GWs)were generated by the collocated Hurricane Bejisa on the island of Mauritius. The AIRS data showed arc-like phase fronts of GWs with horizontal wavelengths of 190 and 150 km at 21:08 coordinated universal time(UTC)on 1 January 2014 and at 10:00 UTC on 2 January 2014,whereas the DNB observed arced GWs with horizontal wavelengths of 60 and 150 km in the same geographic regions at 22:24 UTC.The characteristics of CGW parameters in the stratosphere(~40 km)and the mesosphere(~87 km),such as the vertical wavelength, intrinsic frequency, and intrinsic horizontal phase speed, were first derived together with the background winds from ERA5 reanalysis data and Horizontal Wind Model data through the dispersion relationship of GWs and the wind-filtering theory. | GuoChun Shi Xiong Hu ZhiGang Yao WenJie Guo MingChen Sun XiaoYan Gong | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,1: | 2
Analysis of inversion error characteristics of stellar occultation simulation data显示文摘Atmospheric stellar occultation observation technology is an advanced space-based detection technology that can measure the vertical distribution of trace gas composition, temperature, and aerosol content in a planet’s atmosphere. In this study,an inversion algorithm of the onion-peeling method was constructed to invert the transmittance obtained from the forward mask. The method used a three-dimensional ray-tracing simulation to obtain the transmission path of the light in the Earth’s atmosphere. The relevant parameters were then combined in the high-resolution transmission molecular absorption(HITRAN)database, and line-by-line integration was performed to calculate the atmospheric transmittance. The transmittance value was then used as an input to calculate the vertical distribution of oxygen molecules when using the single-wavelength inversion of the onion-peeling method. Finally, the oxygen molecule content was compared with the value attained by the Mass Spectrometer and Incoherent Scatter Radar Extended(MSISE00)atmospheric model to determine the relative error of our model. The maximum error was found to be 0.3%,which is low enough to verify the reliability of our algorithm.Using Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk(GOLD)measured data to invert the oxygen number density,we calculated its relative deviation from the published result to further verify the algorithm. The inversion result was affected by factors such as prior data, the absorption spectral line type, the ellipticity of the Earth, and the accuracy of the orbit.Analysis of these error-influencing factors showed that the seasons and the Earth’s ellipticity affected the accuracy of the model only 0.001%and could therefore be ignored. However, latitude and solar activity had a greater impact on accuracy,on the order of 0.1%.The absorption line type affected the accuracy of the model by as much as 1%.All three of these factors therefore need to be considered during the inversion process. | MingChen Sun QingLin Zhu Xiang Dong JiaJi Wu | 2022 | Earth and Planetary Physics2022,6,1: | 1
Multifunctional Gd-CuS loaded UCST polymeric micelles for MR/PA imaging-guided chemo-photothermal tumor treatment显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a life-threatening disease for which there is no effective treatment currently.Novel theranostics simultaneously having excellent imaging and therapeutic functions are highly desired in cancer therapy.Herein,we develop the sialic acid(SA)modified polymeric micelles at an upper critical solution temperature(UCST)of 43℃(sialic acid-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(acrylamide-co-acrylonitrile),SA-PEG-p(AAm-co-AN)),which further encapsulated with doxorubicin(DOX)and Gd-CuS nanoparticles(Gd-CuS NPs)for chemo-photothermal treatment of HCC guided by magnetic resonance(MR)/photoacoustic(PA)dual-mode imaging. The resultant SA-PEG-p(AAm-co-AN)/DOX/Gd-CuS(SPDG)had an excellent photothermal conversion efficiency, enabling SPDG with an instantaneous release behavior of DOX under near-infrared(NIR)irradiation.This study also revealed that SPDG could actively target to HCC,which was due to that SA had a high affinity with E-selectin overexpressed at the tumor site. Moreover, benefiting from the HCC-targeted ability and NIR light-controlled on-demand delivery of DOX,SPDG showed a superior potential in MR/PA dual-mode imaging-guided chemo-photothermal treatment.Overall, our study reveals that the designed SPDG may be used as an ideal multifunctional nanoplatform for cancer theranostics. | Yan Du Di Liu Mingchen Sun Gaofeng Shu Jing Qi Yuchan You Yiting Xu Kai Fan Xiaoling Xu Feiyang Jin Jun Wang Qiying Shen Luwen Zhu Xiaoying Ying Jiansong Ji Liming Wu Daren Liu Yongzhong Du | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 0
An investigation of long-term outcome of rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin and cyclosporine therapy for pediatric severe aplastic anemia显示文摘Children with severe aplastic anemia(SAA)face heterogeneous prognoses after immunosuppressive therapy(IST).There are few models that can predict the long-term outcomes of IST for these patients. The objective of this paper is to develop a more effective prediction model for SAA prognosis based on clinical electronic medical records from 203 children with newly diagnosed SAA.In the early stage,a novel model for long-term outcomes of SAA patients with IST was developed using machine-learning techniques.Among the indicators related to long-term efficacy, white blood cell count, lymphocyte count, absolute reticulocyte count, lymphocyte ratio in bone-marrow smears,C-reactive protein, and the level of IL-6,IL-8 and vitamin B12 in the early stage are strongly correlated with long-term efficacy(P<.05).Taken together,we analyzed the long-term outcomes of rabbit antithymocyte globulin and cyclosporine therapy for children with SAA through machine-learning techniques, which may shorten the observation period of therapeutic effects and reduce treatment costs and time. | Lixian Chang Mingchen Yan Jingliao Zhang Binghang Liu Li Zhang Ye Guo Jing Sun Yang Wan Meihui Yi Yang Lan Yuli Cai Yuanyuan Ren Haihui Zheng Aoli Zhang Zhenyu Li Jian Wang Yingrui Li Xiaofan Zhu | 2023 | Blood Science2023,5,3: | 0
Full waveform inversion with spectral conjugategradient method显示文摘Spectral conjugate gradient method is an algorithm obtained by combination of spectral gradient method and conjugate gradient method, which is characterized with global convergence and simplicity of spectral gradient method, and small storage of conjugate gradient method.Besides, the spectral conjugate gradient method was proved that the search direction at each iteration is a descent direction of objective function even without relying on any line search method.Spectral conjugate gradient method is applied to full waveform inversion for numerical tests on Marmousi model. The authors give a comparison on numerical results obtained by steepest descent method, conjugate gradient method and spectral conjugate gradient method, which shows that the spectral conjugate gradient method is superior to the other two methods. | LIU Xiao LIU Mingchen SUN Hui WANG Qianlong | 2017 | Global Geology2017,20,1: | 0
The Biological Significance of Multi-copy Regions and Their Impact on Variant Discovery显示文摘Identification of genetic variants via high-throughput sequencing(HTS)technologies has been essential for both fundamental and clinical studies. However,to what extent the genome sequence composition affects variant calling remains unclear. In this study,we identified 63,897 multi-copy sequences(MCSs)with a minimum length of 300 bp,each of which occurs at least twice in the human genome. The 151,749 genomic loci(multi-copy regions,or MCRs)harboring these MCSs account for 1.98% of the genome and are distributed unevenly across chromosomes.MCRs containing the same MCS tend to be located on the same chromosome.Gene Ontology(GO)analyses revealed that 3800 genes whose UTRs or exons overlap with MCRs are enriched for Golgirelated cellular component terms and various enzymatic activities in the GO biological function category.MCRs are also enriched for loci that are sensitive to neocarzinostatin-induced double-strand breaks. Moreover, genetic variants discovered by genome-wide association studies and recorded in dbSNP are significantly underrepresented in MCRs.Using simulated HTS datasets,we show that false variant discovery rates are significantly higher in MCRs than in other genomic regions. These results suggest that extra caution must be taken when identifying genetic variants in the MCRs via HTS technologies. | Jing Sun Yanfang Zhang Minhui Wang Qian Guan Xiujia Yang Jin Xia Ou Mingchen Yan Chengrui Wang Yan Zhang Zhi-Hao Li Chunhong Lan Chen Mao Hong-Wei Zhou Bingtao Hao Zhenhai Zhang | 2020 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,5: | 0
Cellular rejuvenation:molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions for diseases显示文摘The ageing process is a systemic decline from cellular dysfunction to organ degeneration, with more predisposition to deteriorated disorders.Rejuvenation refers to giving aged cells or organisms more youthful characteristics through various techniques, such as cellular reprogramming and epigenetic regulation. The great leaps in cellular rejuvenation prove that ageing is not a one-way street, and many rejuvenative interventions have emerged to delay and even reverse the ageing process.Defining the mechanism by which roadblocks and signaling inputs influence complex ageing programs is essential for understanding and developing rejuvenative strategies. Here,we discuss the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that counteract cell rejuvenation, and the targeted cells and core mechanisms involved in this process. Then,we critically summarize the latest advances in state-of-art strategies of cellular rejuvenation.Various rejuvenation methods also provide insights for treating specific ageing-related diseases, including cellular reprogramming, the removal of senescence cells(SCs)and suppression of senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP),metabolic manipulation, stem cells-associated therapy, dietary restriction, immune rejuvenation and heterochronic transplantation, etc. The potential applications of rejuvenation therapy also extend to cancer treatment. Finally,we analyze in detail the therapeutic opportunities and challenges of rejuvenation technology.Deciphering rejuvenation interventions will provide further insights into anti-ageing and ageing-related disease treatment in clinical settings. | Shuaifei Ji Mingchen Xiong Huating Chen Yiqiong Liu Laixian Zhou Yiyue Hong Mengyang Wang Chunming Wang Xiaobing Fu Xiaoyan Sun | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4: | 0
