| 1 | Effects of Diet with'Lianhuang'Additive of Chinese Herb Medicine on Growth Performance and Metabolic Rates of Dietary Nutrients in Donglan Black Chicken显示文摘[Objectives]The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of diet with'Lianhuang'additive of Chinese herbal medicine(LACHM)on growth performance and metabolic rates of dietary nutrients in Donglan black chickens(DBCs).[Methods]80 DBCs aged 1 d were blocked into 4 groups randomly and assigned to 6 replicates in each group with 20 chicks in each replicate.Group A as control group fed basal diet.Groups B,C and D as treatment groups consumed the basal diet added with 0.25%,0.50%and 1.00%of LACHM,respectively during the test period of 70 d.In the end of feeding test,24 DBCs with similar body weight from each group were chosen out and used for a metabolism test to determine the metabolic rates of dietary nutrients from each treatment. The metabolism test was conducted as the same design as the feeding test and the DBCs from each group were fed the same diet as previous test.[Results]The ADG of chickens in the test increased by 5.00%-9.15%(P<0.05)except the stage of 50-70 d,and the individual average body weight(IABW)at 70 d in group B also increased by 4.86%(P<0.05).Compared with group A,the ADG of group C in the stages of 36-49,1-49 and 1-70 d and the IABW in the end of 70 d increased by 5.90%,2.66%,2.68%and 2.57%(P>0.05),respectively.The ADFI in the stage of 36-49 d from group A was 6.04%more than that from group B(P<0.01),and 5.12%and 4.13%more than those from groups C and D(P<0.05),respectively,and the ADFI of group A in the stage of 1-49 d was still 2.86%more than that from group C(P<0.05).However,no differences in ADFI were found in other stages in the test among the 4 groups(P>0.05).The F/G in the stages of 22-35 and 1-70 d from group B was 6.32%and 3.41%lower than those from group A(P<0.05),respectively,and even 11.43%and 7.31%lower in the stages of 36-49 and 1-49 d from group B than those from group A(P<0.01),respectively.The F/G of group C in the stage of 36-49 d was also 10.15%lower than that of group A(P<0.05),and still 5.29%lower than that from group A in 1-49 d(P<0.01),but no differences were found in other stages between the two groups(P>0.05).The metabolic rates of MD,CP,CF,NFE,CA,TE,Ca and P in the 3 treatment diets for group B,C and D all increased to some extent.Among them, the increasing extents of diets with 0.25%and 0.50%of LACHM for groups B and C were much greater. Therefore, the diet with 0.25%of LACHM could improve the growth performance and metabolic rates of dietary nutrients in DBCs significantly.[Conclusions]This study provides a theoretical reference for the effects of traditional Chinese medicine additives on the growth and metabolic rates of DBCs. | Jing YAN Lei QIU Min CHEN Fulin WANG Wenjie LU Menglei LI Cui YANG Jiahuang YANG | 2022 | Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,3: | 1 |
| 2 | miR-424(322)-5p targets Ezh1 to inhibit the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts显示文摘The proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts are considered the key biological processes in muscle development and muscle-related diseases,in which the miRNAs involved remain incompletely understood.Previous research reported that miR-424(322)-5p is highly expressed in mouse skeletal muscle.Therefore,C2C12 cells are used as a model to clarify the effect of miR-424(322)-5p on the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts. The data show that miR-424(322)-5p exhibits a decreasing trend upon myogenic differentiation.Overexpression of miR-424(322)-5p inhibits the proliferation of myoblasts, manifested by downregulation of proliferation marker genes(CCNB1,CCND2,and CDK4),decreased percentage of EdU^(+)cells, and reduced cell viability. In contrast, these phenotypes are promoted in myoblasts treated with an inhibitor of miR-424(322)-5p.Interestingly,its gain of function inhibits the expression of myogenic regulators, including MyoD,MyoG,MyHC,and Myf5.Additionally,immunofluorescence staining of MyHC and MyoD shows that overexpression of miR-424(322)-5p reduces the number of myotubes and decreases the myotube fusion index.Consistently, inhibition of its function mediated by an inhibitor promotes the expressions of myogenic markers and myotube fusion.Mechanistically, gene prediction and dual-luciferase reporter experiments confirm that enhancer of zeste homolog 1(Ezh1)is one of the targets of miR-424(322)-5p.Furthermore,knockdown of Ezh1 inhibits the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts.Compared with NC and inhibitor treatment,inhibitor+si-EZH1 treatment rescues the phenotypes of proliferation and differentiation mediated by the miR-424(322)-5p inhibitor.Taken together, these data indicate that miR-424(322)-5p targets Ezh1 to negatively regulate the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts. | Yongqi Yue Xinxin Feng Yige Jia Shujie Luo Menglei Jiang Jiandan Luo Yonglin Hua Jiyue Zhang Yaqiu Lin Jian Li Yan Xiong | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,3: | 0 |
| 3 | The in vitro digestion fates of diacylglycerol under different intestinal conditions:a potential lipid source for lipid indigestion patients显示文摘The in vitro digestion models mimicking the gastrointestinal(GI)tract of general population and lipid indigestion patients(with lower levels of bile salts or pancreatic lipase)were selected to investigate whether diacylglycerols(DAGs)are potential good lipid sources for these patients.Linseed oil-based DAG(LD)and linseed oil(LT)were selected.LD-based emulsion((83.74±1.23)%)had higher lipolysis degree than LT-based emulsion((74.47±1.16)%)when monitoring the GI tract of normal population as previously reported.Indigestion conditions seriously decreased the digestive degree of LT-based emulsion((40.23±2.48)%-(66.50±3.70)%)while showed less influence on LD-based emulsion((64.18±2.41)%-(81.85±3.45)%).As opposed to LT-based emulsion,LD-based emulsion exhibited preference for releasing unsaturated fatty acids(especially oleic acid andα-linolenic acid)due to their different glycerolipid compositions.LD-based emulsion showed potential for providing lipids and nutrients(including essential fatty acids)for lipid indigestion patients. | Qingqing Xu Weifei Wang Dongxiao Sun-Waterhouse Qian Zou Menglei Yan Xuan Liu Dongming Lan Yonghua Wang | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,2: | 0 |
| 4 | A review in rational design of graphene toward advanced Li-S batteries显示文摘For lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,the problems of polysulfides shuttle effect, slow dynamics of sulfur species and growth of lithium dendrite during charge/discharge processes have greatly impeded its practical development.Of core importance to advance the performances of Li-S batteries lies in the selection and design of novel materials with strong polysulfides adsorption ability and enhanced redox electrocatalytic behavior.Graphene, affording high electrical conductivity, superior carrier mobility, and large surface area, has presented great potentials in improving the performances of Li-S cells. However, the properties of intrinsic graphene are far enough to achieve the multiple management toward electrochemical catalysis of energy storage systems. In addition,a general and objective understanding of its role in Li-S systems is still lacking.Along this line,we summarize the design routes from three aspects, including defect engineering, dimension adjustment, and heterostructure modulation,to perfect the graphene properties.Thus-synthesized graphene materials are explored as multifunctional electrocatalysts targeting high-efficiency and long-lifespan Li-S batteries, based on which the regulating role of graphene is comprehensively analyzed. This project provides a perspective on the effective engineering management of graphene materials to boost Li-S chemistry, meanwhile promote the practical application process for graphene materials. | Haina Ci Zixiong Shi Menglei Wang Yan He Jingyu Sun | 2023 | Nano Research Energy2023,2,2: | 0 |
