3A THIRD-ORDER BOUSSINESQ MODEL APPLIED TO NONLINEAR EVOLUTION OF SHALLOW-WATER WAVES显示文摘The conventional Boussinesq model is extended to the third order in dispersion and nonlinearity. The new equations are shown to possess better linear dispersion characteristics. For the evolution of periodic waves over a constant depth, the computed wave envelops are spatially aperiodic and skew. The model is then applied to the study of wave focusing by a topographical lens and the results are compared with Whalin′s (1971) experimental data as well as some previous results from the conventional Boussinesq model. 14Fracture Toughness of Cast Al-Zn-Mg Alloys显示文摘Compact tension specimens of as-cast Al-3Zn-2Mg and Al-7Zn-2Mg (in wt pct) alloys were subjected to fracture toughness tests at room temperature according to specification5 laid down in ASTM E-399-81. 15Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Duplex Martensite Austenitic Steel Precipitation-hardened by VC Carbide显示文摘This paper presents an investigation on the primary microstructure and mechanical properties of a martensite-austenitic duplex steel precipitation-hardened by VC carbide. The results show that the mechanical properties at room temperature are strongly dependent upon the volume fraction of austenite fA. When fA < 32 % both ultimate strength and Vield strength are decreased with increasing fA. however. whenfA>32%, with increasing the.fA. ultimate strength rises and yield strength drops down. Experimental results at elevated temperatures. show that when test temperature ≤500℃. the yield strength to modulus ratio remains unchanged, however. as the temperature rises a substantial fall in the ratio occurs. 16Comparing the Effectiveness of Coatings on Carbide andCermet Cutting Tool Inserts显示文摘A series of metal cutting experiments was performed on a CNC lathe to evaluate the performance of various coatings on different tool substrates. The workpiece material was plain medium carbon steel and the cutting tool materials were carbide and cermet inserts coated with various single as well as multilayer coatings. Machining was done under various cutting conditions of speed and feed-rate, and for various durations of Cutting. The output parameters studied were the cutting forces (axial, radial and tangential), the surface roughness of the workpiece, as well as the tool wear (crater and flank wear). From these results, the performances of the various cutting inserts are evaluated and compared. Results show that cutting forces are significantly lower when using coated cermets than when using coated carbides although different coatings on the same substrate also result in different cutting forces. 17Study of CNC Grinding Machining Method About Isometric Polygon Profile显示文摘The formed principle and CNC grinding machining method of isometric polygonal profile are studied deeply and systematically. Equation about section curve of isometric polygon profile is set up by means of geometric principle. With the use of differential geometry theory, the curve is proved to be with geometric feature of convex curve. It is referred to as Isometric Polygonal Curve (IPC), because that is a kind of convex curve on which the distance between any parallel tangent lines is equal. Isometric Polygonal Profile (IPP) or Isometric Polygonal Cone Profile (IPCP) or Isometric Polygonal Topless Cone (IPTC) is formed with the IPC and straight line as generating curve. But the machining and measuring of the IPCP are so inconvenient that it has little value. Keeping in mind the characteristic of the IPP and IPTC, this paper puts forward the program method of CNC grinding machining. Isometric polygonal profile connection is a kind of polygonal profile connection. It has the superiority over keys (prismatic key & spline etc), and can be suit for the situations such as high rotative velocity, large torque, high precision, and small fixed room and vibration. Nowadays, some countries such as America, Russia, German and Switzerland applied CNC machining to the machining of polygon surface coupling parts, which makes their applications in machine productions such as motor engine, heavy machine increase day by day. But reports about concrete machining technology of isometric polygonal profile and programming of CNC machining program are very few. CNC grinding of the IPP and IPTC is one kind of the precision machining technology. It is of great importance to the popularization of the IPP and IPTC connection. From the forming mechanism, we can see that the machining and measuring of the IPP and IPTC are convenient, and therefore they have the value of the popularization. But the machining and measuring of the IPCP are so inconvenient that it has little value. In the programming the CNC grinding of the IPP and IPTC, it is more reasonable to calculate the coordinate of node according to the approaching method of equal error arc.
