1Resource utilization of solid waste carbide slag:a brief review of application technologies in various scenes显示文摘China is the largest producer and consumer of calcium carbide in the world.The calcium carbide industry is an indispensable industry to support the basic life of people.The huge production capacity of calcium carbide is accompanied by a large number of solid waste carbide slag.Due to the immature treatment technology of carbide slag,a large number of carbide slag are stacked on-site,resulting in land occupation,air-drying,easy take-off ash,and pollution of the environment and water resources.In China,calcium carbide is mainly used to produce acetylene and further utilized,80%of which is used to produce polyvinyl chloride(PVC).A large amount of carbide slag is not used,while only a small part is used in the traditional building materials industry,flue gas desulfurization,sewage treatment,etc.,however,the economic benefits are poor.Therefore,converting the solid waste carbide slag produced by the calcium carbide industry into high value-added CaCO3,CaCl2,CaSO4 whiskers,etc.has become a potential way to expand the development field of the calcium carbide industry and is environmentally friendly.This paper focuses on summarizing the traditional and emerging high value-added utiliza-tion technologies of carbide slag,and then introduces the application research of carbide slag in carbon emission reduction.Finally,the defects of these technologies are summarized and further research directions are prospected.This study provides basic guidance for the diversified development of efficient resource utilization of carbide slag.Graphical abstract Diversified development of calcium carbide industry,resource utilization of solid waste carbide slag and its application of carbon emission reduction have been fully reviewed.Hongxia Wang Wanyi Xu Maimoona Sharif Guangxu Cheng Zaoxiao Zhang 2022Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2022,4,1:3
2电化学介导胺再生CO_(2)捕集系统电化学性能研究显示文摘二氧化碳(CO_(2))捕集是实现我国碳中和目标的重要手段。电化学介导胺再生(EMAR)CO_(2)捕集系统是一种极具应用前景的碳捕集技术。为了进一步研究EMAR的电化学性能,利用H型电解池,对以乙醇胺(MEA)溶液为吸收剂,铜离子为金属配体的体系开展电化学行为研究。结果表明:阴极和阳极反应均是分步进行的,且均由扩散和电荷传递共同控制,阴极过程更缓慢,是系统的控制步骤。同时,增大阴阳极之间配合物浓度差,在较低阳极配合物浓度和较高阴极配合物浓度的情况下,更有利于系统反应的进行。研究结果有望为EMAR CO_(2)捕集技术的放大研究和实际应用提供一定的理论支撑。范会峰 吴小梅 刘广鑫 Maimoona Sharif 余云松 张早校 2022高校化学工程学报2022,36,2:1

7Human papillomavirus, tobacco, and poor oral hygiene can act synergetically, modulate the expression of the nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathway for the development and progression of head and neck cancer in the Pakistani population显示文摘Background: Head and neck cancers (HNCs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors that progress owing to varied enviromental and genetic risk factors. Viral infections are threatening and adept at altering the expression of cellular transcription factors such as nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and deregulation of other cellular proteins like NF kappa B inhibitor alpha (IκBα). The present study was conducted to detect high-risk genotypes of human papillomavirus (HPV) and protein expression of NF-κB signaling pathway in HNC patients with HPV infection.Methods: For HPV detection, genomic DNA from 152 HNC tumors was extracted formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue DNA kit. For genotyping, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using a general primer, HPV type-specific primers and agarose gel electrophoresis were performed. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was also performed on 4-μm thick tissue sections using HPV E6 monoclonal antibody. Protein expression analysis of NF-κB signaling pathway including p50, p65, and IκBα was performed using IHC.Results: PCR analysis showed that 24.3% (37/152) of HNC cases were HPV positive. Among HPV positive, 86.5% (32/37) were tobacco users, while among HPV negative, 66.9% (77/115) were tobacco users. A significant association of HPV positivity and tobacco user was observed by univariate analysis [P < 0.01;odds ratio (OR): 0.310, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.110 to 0.870]. More HPV positive patients were with poor oral hygiene (78.3%) when compared with patients with good oral hygiene (21.6%) [P < 0.03, OR: 2.440, 95% CI: 1.650 to 3.600]. The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that age, tobacco use and oral hygiene are significant predictors (P < 0.02). PCR and IHC staining results confirmed that HPV16 was predominant among HNC cases (64.8%) when compared with HPV18 (35.2%). Expression of NF-κB proteins (p50, p65, and IκBα inhibitor) were also observed in HPV and non-HPV infected HNC tissues. IHC expression of p50, and p65 showed nuclear staining, while IκBα inhibitor showed cytoplasmic staining. Protein expression in HPV cases was higher as compared to HPV naive cases (P < 0.05).Conclusions: From the study, it can be established that the use of tobacco, oral hygiene, and HPV infection may be synergistically involved in modulating the expression of NF-κB signaling pathway for the development and progression of HNC in the Pakistani population.Sumaira Sarwar Mushir Mulla Munaz Mulla Rida Tanveer Maimoona Sabir Aneesa Sultan Salman A.Maliki 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,15:1
8Toward Robust Classifiers for PDF Malware Detection显示文摘Malicious Portable Document Format(PDF)files represent one of the largest threats in the computer security space.Significant research has been done using handwritten signatures and machine learning based on detection via manual feature extraction.These approaches are time consuming,require substantial prior knowledge,and the list of features must be updated with each newly discovered vulnerability individually.In this study,we propose two models for PDF malware detection.The first model is a convolutional neural network(CNN)integrated into a standard deviation based regularization model to detect malicious PDF documents.The second model is a support vector machine(SVM)based ensemble model with three different kernels.The two models were trained and tested on two different datasets.The experimental results show that the accuracy of both models is approximately 100%,and the robustness against evasive samples is excellent.Further,the robustness of the models was evaluated with malicious PDF documents generated using Mimicus.Both models can distinguish the different vulnerabilities exploited in malicious files and achieve excellent performance in terms of generalization ability,accuracy,and robustness.Marwan Albahar Mohammed Thanoon Monaj Alzilai Alaa Alrehily Munirah Alfaar Maimoona Algamdi Norah Alassaf 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,11:0
