1Improving methane storage on wet activated carbons at various amounts of water显示文摘Different mesoporous activated carbons were prepared by both chemical and physical activation processes and were examined for methane uptake in the presence of water.Methane isotherms were obtained at wet condition by wetting samples with water at mass ratio of water/carbon(R) close to 1.0.To compare,the amount of methane storage were also measured at dry situation.The maximum amount of methane stored was attained as 237 V/V at R=1.0 by hydrate formation at the methane critical pressure.In the next step,mass ratios of water/carbon were changed to investigate various amount of water for methane storage enhancement.Two other values of mass ratio of water/carbon(R=0.8 and 1.4) were selected and methane isotherms were obtained at the same conditions.Maximum values of 210 and 248 V/V were reached for methane storage,respectively.It was also observed that,in the pressure range lower than hydrate pressure,by increasing water ratio the hydrate formation pressure was decreased and methane uptake was much less than that of dry condition due to pore filling by water.MOHAMMAD JABER DARABI MAHBOUB ALI AHMADPOUR HAMED RASHIDI 2012燃料化学学报2012,40,4:7

3Potential approaches to improve the outcomes of donation after cardiac death liver grafts显示文摘There is a growing discrepancy between the supply and demand of livers for transplantation resulting in high mortality rates on the waiting list. One of the options to decrease the mortality on the waiting list is to optimize organs with inferior quality that otherwise would be discarded. Livers from donation after cardiac death(DCD) donors are frequently discarded because they are exposed to additional warm ischemia time, and this might lead to primary-non-function, delayed graft function, or severe biliary complications. In order to maximize the usage of DCD livers several new preservation approaches have been proposed. Here, we will review 3 innovative organ preservation methods:(1) different ex vivo perfusion techniques;(2) persufflation with oxygen; and(3) addition of thrombolytic therapy. 5Insight into molecular mechanisms underlying hepatic dysfunction in severe COVID-19 patients using systems biology显示文摘BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),a pandemic contributing to more than 105 million cases and more than 2.3 million deaths worldwide,was described to be frequently accompanied by extrapulmonary manifestations,including liver dysfunction.Liver dysfunction and elevated liver enzymes were observed in about 53%of COVID-19 patients.AIM To gain insight into transcriptional abnormalities in liver tissue of severe COVID-19 patients that may result in liver dysfunction.METHODS The transcriptome of liver autopsy samples from severe COVID-19 patients against those of non-COVID donors was analyzed.Differentially expressed genes were identified from normalized RNA-seq data and analyzed for the enrichment of functional clusters and pathways.The differentially expressed genes were then compared against the genetic signatures of liver diseases including cirrhosis,fibrosis,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and hepatitis A/B/C.Gene expression of some differentially expressed genes was assessed in the blood samples of severe COVID-19 patients with liver dysfunction using qRT-PCR.RESULTS Analysis of the differential transcriptome of the liver tissue of severe COVID-19 patients revealed a significant upregulation of transcripts implicated in tissue remodeling including G-coupled protein receptors family genes,DNAJB1,IGF2,EGFR,and HDGF.Concordantly,the differential transcriptome of severe COVID-19 liver tissues substantially overlapped with the disease signature of liver diseases characterized with pathological tissue remodeling(liver cirrhosis,Fibrosis,NAFLD,and hepatitis A/B/C).Moreover,we observed a significant suppression of transcripts implicated in metabolic pathways as well as mitochondrial function,including cytochrome P450 family members,ACAD11,CIDEB,GNMT,and GPAM.Consequently,drug and xenobiotics metabolism pathways are significantly suppressed suggesting a decrease in liver detoxification capacity.In correspondence with the RNA-seq data analysis,we observed a significant upregulation of DNAJB1 and HSP90AB1 as well as significant downregulation of CYP39A1 in the blood plasma of severe COVID-19 patients with liver dysfunction.CONCLUSION Severe COVID-19 patients appear to experience significant transcriptional shift that may ensue tissue remodeling,mitochondrial dysfunction and lower hepatic detoxification resulting in the clinically observed liver dysfunction.Sarah Musa Hammoudeh Arabella Musa Hammoudeh Poorna Manasa Bhamidimarri Bassam Mahboub Rabih Halwani Qutayba Hamid Mohamed Rahmani Rifat Hamoudi 2021World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,21:2

18Improved CO2 capture performances of ZIF-90 through sequential reduction and lithiation reactions to form a hard/hard structure显示文摘Post-synthetic functionalization or modification has been regarded as a promising strategy to treat surfaces of adsorbents for their applications in targeted adsorption and separation processes.In this work,a novel microporous adsorbent for carbon capturing was developed via functionalization of zeolitic imidazolate framework-91(ZIF-91)to generate a hard/hard(metal-oxygen)structure named as lithium-modified ZIF-91(ZIF-91-OLi compound).To this purpose,the ZIF-91 compound as an intermediate product was achieved by reduction of ZIF-90 in the presence of NaBH4 as a good reducing agent.Afterwards,acidic hydrogen atoms in the hydroxyl groups of ZIF-91 were exchanged with lithium cations via reaction of n-BuLi compound as an organo lithium agent through an appropriate procedure.In particular,the as-synthesized ZIF-91-OLi operated as an excellent electron-rich center for CO2 adsorption through trapping the positive carbon centers in the CO2 molecule.DFT calculations revealed that the presence of lithium over the surface of ZIF-91-OLi adsorbent plays an effective role in double enhancement of CO2 storage via creating a strong negative charge center at the oxygen atoms of the imidazolate linker as a result of the lithium/hydrogen exchange system.Finally,the selectivity of CO2/N2 was investigated at different temperatures,revealing the ZIF-91-OLi as a selective adsorbent for industrial application.Mahboube Ghahramaninezhad Fatemeh Mohajer Mahdi Niknam Shahrak 2020Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,3:1
