1Light-driven artificial muscles based on electrospun microfiber yarns显示文摘Artificial muscles are widely potential in diverse fields including medical treatment, humanoid robotics and industrial automation. Soft materials due to bio-friendly interaction are suitable for those applications. Planar and fiber shape based artificial muscles that use the polymer as substrate materials can be triggered by various stimuli like electric, moisture and heat. Here,artificial muscles based on electrospun microfiber yarns are demonstrated, which can be remotely controlled. The carbon nanotubes embedded in polyurethane microfibers enable the yarns to efficiently absorb near-infrared light and radiate heat,which induces the fast temperature change that leads to the contraction/expansion motions along the axial direction. Microfiber mats are collected by a rotating cylinder that results in highly oriented alignment. The yarns from microfiber mats are highly twisted into the coiled structure, which generates maximum contractive actuation of 6.7% at 70°C. 1000 cycles were demonstrated without an obvious decline of actuating performances. 2Interfacial-Strain-Induced Structural and Polarization Evolutions in Epitaxial Multiferroic BiFeO_3(001) Thin Films显示文摘Varying the film thickness is a precise route to tune the interfacial strain to manipulate the properties of the multiferroic materials.Here,to explore the effects of the interfacial strain on the properties of the multiferroic BiFeO_3films,we investigated thickness-dependent structural and polarization evolutions of the BiFeO_3 films.The epitaxial growth with an atomic stacking sequence of BiO/TiO_2 at the interface was confirmed by scanning transmission electron microscopy.Combining X-ray diffraction experiments and first-principles calculations,a thickness-dependent structural evolution was observed from a fully strained tetragonality to a partially relaxed one without any structural phase transition or rotated twins.The tetragonality(c/a) of the BiFeO_3 films increases as the film thickness decreases,while the polarization is in contrast with this trend,and the size effect including the depolarization field plays a crucial role in this contradiction in thinner films.These findings offer an alternative strategy to manipulate structural and polarization properties by tuning the interfacial strain in epitaxial multiferroic thin films.郭海中 Ruiqiang Zhao Kui-juan Jin Lin Gu Dongdong Xiao Zhenzhong Yang Xiaolong Li Le Wang Xu He Junxing Gu Qian Wan Can Wang Huibin Lu Chen Ge Meng He Guozhen Yang 2015功能材料信息2015,12,3:1
3Cultivars and oil extraction techniques affect Cd/Pb contents and health risks in oil of rapeseed grown on Cd/Pb-contaminated farmland显示文摘Substitute planting with rapeseed offers promise for safely using large areas of Cd/Pb-contaminated farmland.Cd/Pb distributions during rapeseed oil production were investigated and health risks posed by the oil were assessed.Tests were performed using three cultivars(Brassica rapa SYH and ZS100 and Brassica napus QY-1)and four oil extraction techniques(mechanical and low-temperature pressing and n-hexane and subcritical low-temperature butane extraction).The amounts of Cd and Pb in oil were 0.73%-8.44%and 3.14%-11.76%,respectively,of the amounts in rapeseed and were strongly affected by the cultivar and oil extraction technique.The heavy metal(HM)concentrations were lower in solvent-extracted oil(particularly subcritical low-temperature butane extracted oil,in which HMs were not detected)than mechanically pressed oil.The Cd and Pb transfer indices were lower(meaning larger proportions of HMs were retained by the rapeseed meal)for B.rapa than B.napus.This was attributed to a high HM binding protein content of B.rapa seed.Health risks to humans were assessed using a probabilistic risk assessment model.The carcinogenic risk was mainly(97.1%-99.9%)caused by Cd and poses more concern than non-carcinogenic risk.Stronger health risks are posed by mechanically pressed than solvent-extracted oil,and higher carcinogenic risks are posed to people living in rural areas than urban areas.Substitute planting with B.rapa and extracting oil with organic solvent(preferably subcritical low-temperature butane)are optimal for safely utilizing Cd/Pb-contaminated soil.Attention should be paid to the health risks posed by Cd in oil to rural populations.Junmei Guo Yuexing Wei Junxing Yang Tongbin Chen Guodi Zheng Tianwei Qian Xiaona Liu Xiaofei Meng Mengke He 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,7:0
