1Diagnosis and surgical treatments of hepatocellular carcinoma with tumor thrombosis in bile duct:Experience of 34 patients显示文摘AIM: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with bile duct tumor thrombosis (BDT) is a rare event. The prognosis of this type of patients is very dismal. The aim of this study was to share the experience in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC with BDT, to further improve the prognosis of these patients.METHODS: Thirty-four patients of HCC with BDT received surgical treatment in authors' institute from July 1987 to January 2003 were reviewed retrospectively. The experience in the diagnosis and treatment, and the outcome of this type of HCC patients were summarized.RESULTS: Thirty of the 34 patients (88.2%) were positive for alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) (>20 μg/L), and 12 patients (35.3%) were found having obstructive jaundice before operation, 18 cases were suspected of 'obstruction of bile duct' preoperatively. The primary tumors were frequently located at the left medial (13 cases) or right anterior lobe(14 cases). Thirty-one patients received liver resections and removal of BDT, while the other 3 patients received removal of BDT combined with hepatic artery ligation and cannulation(HAL+HAI), or only removal of BDT because their liver function reservation and general condition could not tolerate the primary tumor resection. The 1-year survival rate was 71.4%(20/28). The longest disease-free survival was over 15 years. The intrahepatic tumor recurrence within 1 year after operation was found in 14 patients (14/28, 50.0%).CONCLUSION: Surgical removal of primary tumors and BDT is safe and beneficial to the HCC patients with BDT. 2Novel synthesis and characterization of CuO nanomaterials:Biological applications显示文摘CuO nanoparticles were synthesized at a relatively low temperature(80 ℃) for 2 h using polyethylene glycol-glycerol mixture which acts as a capping agent.A detailed characterization of the synthesized nanomaterials were performed utilizing X-ray diffraction(XRD),infra-red spectroscopy(IR),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA-DTA),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),photoluminescence(PL) by studying its crystalline phase,vibrational mode,thermal analysis,morphology and photoluminescence properties.The effect of annealing on the as-prepared nanoparticles were studied and compared with their corresponding bulk counterpart.The synthesized nanoparticles have been screened for in vitro cytotoxicity(1C_(50)) studies against the human cervical adenocarcinoma cell line(HeLa) using WITT assay methods.The as-prepared nanoparticle inhibits the proliferation of this HeLa cell.The standard disc diffusion method has been used to study the antibacterial activity of the samples against the human pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli(MTCC 729),Proteus mirabilis(MTCC 425) and Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp.pneumoniae(MTCC 432).The results have been compared with the positive control antibiotic gentamycin.The synthesized nanoparticles would provide a potential alternative to antibiotics for controlling some of the microorganisms causing urolithiasis.Ayekpam Bimolini Devi Dinesh Singh Moirangthem Narayan Chandra Talukdar M.Damayanti Devi N.Rajen Singh Meitram Niraj Luwang 2014Chinese Chemical Letters2014,25,12:4
3Polymorphisms of Exon 17 of Insulin-Receptor Gene in Pathogenesis of Human Disorders With Insulin Resistance显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between polymorphisms of insulin-receptor (INSR) gene and insulin resistance in a population-based study in China. Methods Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was used to the amplify Exon 17 of INSR gene and all amplified products were analyzed by direct sequencing. Results Six single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were found at the following loci: T to TC at the locus of 10699 (Tyr984), G to GC at the locus of 10731 (Glu994), Deletion G at the locus of 10798 (Asp1017), C to T/TC at the locus of 10923 (His1058), C to CA at the locus of 10954 (Leu1069), and T to TA at the locus of 10961 (Phe1071), which might not change the amino acid sequence. The data were in agreement with the test of Hardy-Weinberg balance (P>0.05). Among the 345 cases, all clinical indices were higher in males than in females except for HDL cholesterol (P<0.05). The proportion of insulin resistance in males (64.4%) was higher than that in females (35.6%, OR=1.83). It implied that the relative risk of developing insulin resistance in males was 1.83 times as high as that in females. The biochemical indices in different loci on Exon 17 showed that the individuals with deletion G on the locus of 10798 had lower TG (P=0.052) and higher HDL (P=0.027) than those without deletion G on the same site. Homa-Index was lower in those with deletion G than in those without deletion G (P>0.05). After sex stratification in analysis, all allele frequencies on the six loci of SNPs of Exon 17 had different distributions between the insulin resistant group and the control group, but P>0.05. 4Rare earth element geochemistry of groundwater from a deep seated sandstone aquifer,northern Anhui province,China显示文摘Deep coal mines in northern Anhui province,China,provide opportunities for tracing the distribution and fractionation of rare earth elements(REEs) in deep seated environments.Major ions,as well as REE concentrations were measured in groundwater from a sandstone aquifer located between-400 and-280 m.Our results indicate that this groundwater consists of Cl HCO3-Na or Cl CO3-Na water types with warm temperature(30.1-31.4 °C),circumneutral pH(7.27-8.61) and high levels of total dissolved solids(TDS = 1306-2165 mg/L).Concentrations of REEs in groundwater are high as expressed by their Nd concentrations(0.0086-0.018 lg/L).Except for weak heavy REEs(HREE) enrichment relative to light REEs(LREE),the similarity of REE distribution patterns between groundwater and aquifer rock indicate that enrichment of REEs is considered to be controlled by aquifer rock,as well as by their minerals,whereas the fractionation of REEs is controlled by HREE enriched minerals and,to a lesser extent,by inorganic REE complexes.Ce anomalies normalized to Post Archean Average Shale(PAAS) and aquifer rock are weak,which probably reflect the contribution of reduced conditions in combination with pH,rather than a signature of aquifer rock.Gui Herong Sun Linhua Chen Luwang Chen Song 2011Mining Science and Technology2011,21,4:2

13Preparation and Characterization of 3D Printed Hydroxyapatite-Whisker-Strengthened Hydroxyapatite Scaffold Coated with Biphasic Calcium Phosphate显示文摘This study investigates the in vitro degradation of calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite powder after heat treatment at different temperatures and analyzes the calculated phase composition,particle size distribution,degradation rate,and bioactivity of the powder after heat treatment.A mixture of hydroxyapatite and��-tricalcium phosphate(BCP)coatings was prepared on the surface of a 3D-printed hydroxyapatite-whisker-strengthened hydroxyapatite scaf-fold(HAw/HA)by vacuum impregnation and ultraviolet light curing combined with an optimized heat treatment process.The performance of the coatings under different methods was characterized.The composite scaffolds with highly interconnected pores and excellent mechanical properties were prepared,and their biodegradation performance,bioactivity,osteoconductivity,and osteoinductivity of the scaffolds were improved.The results showed that calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite began to transform into BCP between 600℃and 800℃,and the powder treated at 800℃has better bioactivity.The BCP coating prepared by light curing was more uniform,resulting in a higher interfacial bonding strength,and has better osteoconductivity and osteoinductivity than that prepared by vacuum impregnation.Chenyu Ma Qingfeng Zeng Luwang Yu Shuyin Yu Jiayin Song Yongjie Ma Xieping Dong 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering(Additive Manufacturing Frontiers)2023,2,4:0
14Research on Operation Optimization of Heating System Based on Electric Storage Coupled Solar Energy and Air Source Heat Pump显示文摘For heating systems based on electricity storage coupled with solar energy and an air source heat pump(ECSA),choosing the appropriate combination of heat sources according to local conditions is the key to improving economic efficiency.In this paper,four cities in three climatic regions in China were selected,namely Nanjing in the hot summer and cold winter region,Tianjin in the cold region,Shenyang and Harbin in the severe cold winter region.The levelized cost of heat(LCOH)was used as the economic evaluation index,and the energy consumption and emissions of different pollutants were analyzed.TRNSYS software was used to simulate and analyze the system performance.The Hooke-Jeeves optimization algorithm and GenOpt software were used to optimize the system parameters.The results showed that ECSA systemhad an excellent operation effect in cold region and hot summer and cold winter region.Compared with ECS system,the systemenergy consumption,and the emission of different pollutants of ECSA system can be reduced by a maximum of 1.37 times.In cold region,the initial investment in an air source heat pump is higher due to the lower ambient temperature,resulting in an increase in the LOCH value of ECSA system.After the LOCH value of ECSA system in each region was optimized,the heating cost of the system was reduced,but also resulted in an increase in energy consumption and the emission of different pollutant gases.Jingxiao Han Chuanzhao Zhang LuWang ZengjunChang Qing Zhao Ying Shi JiaruiWu Xiangfei Kong 2023Energy Engineering2023,120,9:0
