| 1 | Study on Theory and Application of the Energy Method used for Analyzing Compressive Instability in Sheet Forming显示文摘It is pointed out that there was serious weakness w he n using the energy method for studying compressive plastic instability in sheet forming in the past. Where applying the deduced instability strengths to relativ e engineering analysis, theoretical solutions were away from practices. Its basi c reason is that simplified process in mathematical analysis of elastic bending energy was completely applied to that of plastic bending energy. Where the cambe r expressed by function of displacement normal to a plate was approximated to re alistic deflective camber, the displacement of deflected plate to compressed dir ection was neglected. With the aid of the improved instability strengths, the pr edictions on both critical buckling dimension of blank in cup deep-drawing with out blankholder through cylindrical die or conical die and the minimum blankhold er pressure to prevent buckling under constant load are universally in agreement with both experimental results and experiential data. On the bases of above-mentioned improvement, the approximate expressions for bo th the curvature and the twist used in equation of the energy of elastic bending are also ameliorated. Thus the obtained general equations for both the energy a nd the work done by internal force in plastic bending of a plate are more precis e than before. In the analyses of plastic buckling of shell with bending moment, the effect of bending moment is considered through the work done by simulative bending for ce. The method proposed in this paper can not only simplify analyses but also ge t practical result. | XIONG Zhi-qing 1, XIE Lan-sheng 2 (1. | 2 | Research on the Characters of the Cutting Force in Vibration Cutting Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites SiC_p/Al显示文摘In this paper, turning experiments of machining particle reinforced metal matri x composites(PRMMCs) SiC p/Al with PCD tools have been carried out. The cutting force characteristics in ultrasonic vibration turning compared with that in com mon turning were studied. Through the single factor experiments and multiple fac tor orthogonal experiments, the influences of three kinds of cutting conditions such as cutting velocity, amount of feed and cutting depth on cutting force were analyzed in detail. Meanwhile, according to the experimental data, the empirica l formula of main cutting force in ultrasonic vibration turning was conclude d. According to the test results, the cutting force is direct proportion to cutt ing depth basically according to the relation between cutting force and other fa ctors, which is similar to that of common cutting, so is the feed rate, but the influence is not so big. The influence of cutting speed is larger than that of f eed rate on cutting force because the efficient cutting time increases in vibrat ion cycle with the increase of cutting speed, which causes cutting force to incr ease. The research results indicate: (1) Ultrasonic vibration turning possesses much lower main cutting force than that in common turning when adopting smaller cutting parameters. If using larger cutting parameters, the difference will inco nspicuous. (2) There are remarkable differences of cutting force-cutting veloci ty characteristics in ultrasonic vibration turning from that in common turning m ainly because built-up edge does not emerge in ultrasonic turning unlike common turning in corresponding velocity range. (3) In ultrasonic vibration cutting, t he influence of cutting velocity on cutting force is most obvious among thre e cutting parameters and the influence of feed is smallest. So adopting lower cu tting velocity and larger cutting depth not only can reduce cutting force effect ively but also can ensure cutting efficiency. (4) The conclusions are useful in precision and super precision manufacturing thin-wall pieces. | LIU Chuan-shao 1, ZHAO Bo 1,2, GAO Guo-fu 1, JIAO F eng 1 (1. | 3 | Experimental Study on Hard Turning Hardened GCr15 Steel with PCBN Tool显示文摘This paper discusses experimental results of turnin g experiments on GCr15 bearing steel hardened to 60~64 HRC. The objective was to d etermine the effect of the cutting parameters on cutting force, chip morphology and resultant workpiece surface quality, more specifically surface texture, micr ostructure alterations, changes in microhardness and residual stresses distribut ion. The changing rules of the main cutting force was shown in this paper which feature a increasing tendency with the improvement of the workpiece hardness wit hin the cutting parameter scope. The rule of cutting force changing with the wor kpiece hardness is accord to the traditional metal cutting theory. Stress value decrease with increasing cutting speed and workpiece hardness. The comparison of the machined surface roughness and harden layer depth of machined surface for d ifferent hardness is shown in Fig.1. The machined surface roughness is the worst when the workpiece hardness is around 50HRC. When the workpiece hardness is ove r 50HRC, the surface roughness value shows a descending tendency with the additi on hardness. The machined superficial harden layer depth shows an increasing ten dency with the improvement of the workpiece hardness. When the workpiece hardnes s is 50HRC the machined superficial harden layer depth is tiptop. When the workp iece hardness is over 50HRC the depth changes little with the addition of workpi ece hardness. The remnant stress status of the machined surface is shown in Fig. 2, which is press stress status both in surface and in base for less cutting par ameters under two kinds of cutting condition. But experiment results show that t ensile stress can be produced under uncomfortable cutting conditions.
