1Water content in the early Cretaceous lithospheric mantle beneath the south-central Taihang Mountains: implications for the destruction of the North China Craton显示文摘Based on studies of the water content of the early Cretaceous Feixian high-magnesium basalts in the eastern part of the North China Craton(NCC),it has been suggested that the early Cretaceous lithospheric mantle of the eastern NCC was highly hydrous([1,000 ppm,H2O wt.)and that this high water content had significantly reduced the viscosity of the lithospheric mantle and provided a prerequisite for the destruction of the NCC.The eastern part of the NCC had undergone multistage subduction of oceanic plates from the south,north,and east sides since the early Paleozoic,and these events may have caused the strong hydration of the NCC lithospheric mantle.To determine which subduction had contributed most to this hydration,we measured the water contents of the peridotite xenoliths hosted by the early Cretaceous high-magnesium diorites of Fushan in the southcentral part of the Taihang Mountains.Our results demonstrate that the water content of the early Cretaceous lithospheric mantle beneath the south part of the Taihang Mountains was*40 ppm and significantly lower than that of the contemporary lithospheric mantle beneath the eastern part of the NCC.Thus,the hydration of the early Cretaceous lithospheric mantle of the eastern part of the NCC can be ascribed to the subduction of the Pacific plate from the west side.Thus,the main dynamic factor in the destruction of the NCC was likely the subduction of the Pacific plate.Shaochen Liu Qunke Xia 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,13:7
2Two-dimensional optical spatial differentiation and high-contrast imaging显示文摘Optical analog signal processing technology has been widely studied and applied in a variety of science and engineering fields, with the advantages of overcoming the low-speed and high-power consumption associated with its digital counterparts. Much attention has been given to emerging metasurface technology in the field of optical imaging and processing systems. Here, we demonstrate, for the first time, broadband two-dimensional spatial differentiation and high-contrast edge imaging based on a dielectric metasurface across the whole visible spectrum. This edge detection method works for both intensity and phase objects simply by inserting the metasurface into a commercial optical microscope. 4Effects of electromagnetic radiation on spatial memory and synapses in rat hippocampal CA1显示文摘In this study,we investigated the effects of mobile phone radiation on spatial learning,reference memory,and morphology in related brain regions.After the near-field radiation(0.52-1.08 W/kg) was delivered to 8-week-old Wistar rats 2 hours per day for 1 month,behavioral changes were examined using the Morris water maze.Compared with the sham-irradiated rats,the irradiated rats exhibited impaired performance.Morphological changes were investigated by examining synaptic ultrastructural changes in the hippocampus.Using the physical dissector technique,the number of pyramidal neurons,the synaptic profiles,and the length of postsynaptic densities in the CA1 region were quantified stereologically.The morphological changes included mitochondrial degenerations,fewer synapses,and shorter postsynaptic densities in the radiated rats.These findings indicate that mobile phone radiation can significantly impair spatial learning and reference memory and induce morphological changes in the hippocampal CA1 region.Yuhong Li Changhua Shi Guobing Lu Qian Xu Shaochen Liu 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,16:1
5Bioresponsive immune-booster-based prodrug nanogel for cancer immunotherapy显示文摘The combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy motivates a potent immune system by triggering immunogenic cell death(ICD), showing great potential in inhibiting tumor growth and improving the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment(ITM). However, the therapeutic effectiveness has been restricted by inferior drug bioavailability. Herein, we reported a universal bioresponsive doxorubicin(DOX)-based nanogel to achieve tumor-specific co-delivery of drugs. DOX-based mannose nanogels(DM NGs) was designed and choosed as an example to elucidate the mechanism of combined chemo-immunotherapy. As expected, the DM NGs exhibited prominent micellar stability, selective drug release and prolonged survival time, benefited from the enhanced tumor permeability and prolonged blood circulation. We discovered that the DOX delivered by DM NGs could induce powerful antitumor immune response facilitated by promoting ICD. Meanwhile, the released mannose from DM NGs was proved as a powerful and synergetic treatment for breast cancer in vitro and in vivo, via damaging the glucose metabolism in glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle. 8Aluminum exposure impairs oocyte quality via subcellular structure disruption and DNA damage-related apoptosis in mice显示文摘Aluminum(Al)can lead to an exposure of creature in varieties ways for its universality,and it could disturb normal physiological metabolism,with the damage to multisystem including reproduction.Since the oocyte quality is critical for female reproduction,we inspected the toxicity of Al on mouse oocyte maturation.We constructed in vitro exposure mouse model,and we found that 5 mmol/L Al had adverse effects on oocyte maturation by impairing organelle and cytoskeleton.Aberrant spindle and misaligned chromosomes which might be considered to be caused by elevated levels of acetylation,as well as abnormal distribution of actin dynamics could hinder normal meiosis of oocytes.Organelle dysfunction indicated that Al affected proteins synthesis,transport and digestion,which would further damage oocyte maturation.In order to explore the mechanism of Al toxicity,our further investigation demonstrated that Al caused mitochondrial dysfunction and imbalance calcium homeostasis,resulting in limited energy supply.Moreover,high level of reactive oxygen species,DNA damage and apoptosis caused by oxidative stress were also the manifestation of Al toxicity on oocytes.In conclusion,our study provided the evidence that Al exposure affected oocyte quality through its effects on spindle organization,actin dynamics,organelle function and the induction of DNA damage-related apoptosis with mouse model.Hongge Li Jingcai Liu Weihua Nong Mengying Shen Sheng Dou Shaochen Sun Junli Wang 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,5:0

10Induced Pib Expression and Resistance to Magnaporthe grisea are Compromised by Cytosine Demethylation at Critical Promoter Regions in Rice显示文摘Pib is a well-characterized rice blast-resistance gene belonging to the nucleotide binding site (NBS) and leucine-rich repeat (LRR) superfamily.Expression of Pib was low under non-challenged conditions,but strongly induced by the blast-causing fungal pathogen Magnaporthe grisea,thereby conferring resistance to the pathogen.It is generally established that cytosine methylation of the promoter-region often plays a repressive role in modulating expression of the gene in question.We report here that two critical regions of the Pib promoter were heavily CG cytosine-methylated in both cultivars studied.Surprisingly,induced expression of Pib by M.grisea infection did not entail its promoter demethylation,and partial demethylation by 5-azacytidine-treatment actually reduced Pib expression relative to wildtype plants.Accordingly,the blast disease-resistance was compromised in the 5-azaC-treated plants relative to wild-type.In contrast,the disease susceptibility was not affected by the 5-azaC treatment in another two rice cultivars that did not contain the Pib gene,ruling out effects of other R genes and non-specific genotoxic effects by the drug-treatment as a cause for the compromised Pib-conditioned blast-resistance.Taken together,our results suggest that promoter DNA methylation plays a novel enhancing role in conditioning high-level of induced expression of the Pib gene in times of M.grisea infection,and its conferred resistance to the pathogen.Yuan Li Qiong Xia Hongping Kou Dan Wang Xiuyun Lin Ying Wu Chunming Xu Shaochen Xing Bao Liu 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,10:0
