1Mesozoic contraction deformation in the Yanshan and northern Taihang mountains and its implications to the destruction of the North China Craton显示文摘Mesozoic contraction deformation in the Yanshan and Taihang mountains is characterized by basement-involved thrust tectonics,basement-cored buckling anticlines and ductile thrust and nappe tectonics.Most of these deformations are orientated west-east,west-northwest and northeast to north-northeast.The contraction deformations began in the Permian,continued through the Triassic and Jurassic and terminated in the Early Cretaceous,and constitute an important part of the destruction of the North China Craton.It is estimated,from balanced cross-section reconstructions,that the north-south shortening of the central part of the Yanshan belt before 135 Ma was around 38%.The initial crust thickness,pre-dating the major contraction deformation in late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic,was estimated to be around 35 km based on paleogeographic characteristics.Assuming that the inferred depth of ductile thrusting deformation,20-25 km,was the crust thickness involved in the contraction deformation,and also assuming that the N-S contraction deformation was accommodated by vertical crust thickening,the thickness of the crust after the contraction deformation was expected to be around 47-50 km.This was the approximate crust thickness required for the eclogitization of the lower crust for delamination.The gravity potential accumulated by the isostatic uplift of the thickened crust,together with the decrease in crustal strength caused by the coeval magmatisms associated with the contraction deformation,led to the subsequent extensional collapse of the middle and upper crust although the regional stress regime associated with the plate interactions remained constant.It is inferred that the Mesozoic contraction deformations in the Yanshan and Taihang mountains were not only a significant tectonic process contributing to the destruction of the craton in middle and upper crust but also stimulated delamination at a deep level and the extension of the shallow crust.In other words,both the suspected delamination of the lower crust and upper mantle and the well constrained extension deformations of the shallow crust in the eastern North China Craton during the late Mesozoic are a consequence of crust thickening due to previous contractions.Extensional deformations could be expected to occur independently in the shallow crust,and are not necessarily associated with or responding to delamination at a deep level.ZHANG ChangHou LI ChengMing DENG HongLing LIU Yang LIU Lei WEI Bo LI HanBin LIU Zi 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6:40

3pH-sensitive polymeric micelles triggered drug release for extracellular and intracellular drug targeting delivery显示文摘Most of the conventional chemotherapeutic agents used for cancer chemotherapy suffer from multidrug resistance of tumor cells and poor antitumor efficacy.Based on physiological differences between the normal tissue and the tumor tissue,one effective approach to improve the efficacy of cancer chemotherapy is to develop pH-sensitive polymeric micellar delivery systems.The copolymers with reversible protonationedeprotonation core units or acid-liable bonds between the therapeutic agents and the micelle-forming copolymers can be used to form pH-sensitive polymeric micelles for extracellular and intracellular drug smart release.These systems can be triggered to release drug in response to the slightly acidic extracellular fluids of tumor tissue after accumulation in tumor tissues via the enhanced permeability and retention effect,or they can be triggered to release drug in endosomes or lysosomes by pH-controlled micelle hydrolysis or dissociation after uptake by cells via the endocytic pathway.The pH-sensitive micelles have been proved the specific tumor cell targeting,enhanced cellular internalization,rapid drug release,and multidrug resistance reversal.The multifunctional polymeric micelles combining extracellular pH-sensitivity with receptor-mediated active targeting strategies are of great interest for enhanced tumor targeting.The micelles with receptor-mediated and intracellular pH targeting functions are internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis followed by endosomal-pH triggered drug release inside the cells,which reverses multidrug resistance.The pH sensitivity strategy of the polymeric micelles facilitates the specific drug delivery with reduced systemic side effects and improved chemotherapeutical efficacy,and is a novel promising platform for tumor-targeting drug delivery.Yanhua Liu Wenping Wang Jianhong Yang Chengming Zhou Jin Sun 2013Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2013,8,3:11
4Molecular heterogeneity of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy efficacy is correlated with tumor immune microenvironment in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate how the tumor immune microenvironment differs regarding tumor genomics,as well as its impact on prognoses and responses to immunotherapy in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:We performed an integrated analysis using publicly available data to identify associations between anti-programmed death 1(PD-1)/programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)immunotherapy efficacy and classic driver oncogene mutations in East Asian NSCLC patients.Four pooled and clinical cohort analyses were used to correlate driver oncogene mutation status and tumor microenvironment based on PD-L1 and CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs).Immune infiltrating patterns were also established for genomic NSCLC subgroups using the CIBERSORT algorithm.Results:Based on East Asian NSCLC patients,TIDE analyses revealed that for anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-mutant and anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-rearranged tumors yielded inferior responses;however,although Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS)-mutant tumors responded better,the difference was not statistically significant(EGFR:P=0.037;ALK:P<0.001;KRAS:P=0.701).Pooled and clinical cohort analyses demonstrated tumor immune microenvironment heterogeneities correlated with oncogenic patterns.The results showed remarkably higher PD-L1-and TIL-positive KRAS-mutant tumors,suggesting KRAS mutations may drive an inflammatory phenotype with adaptive immune resistance.However,the EGFR-mutant or ALK-rearranged groups showed a remarkably higher proportion of PD-L1-/TIL-tumors,suggesting an uninflamed phenotype with immunological ignorance.Notably,similar to triple wild-type NSCLC tumors,EGFR L858R-mutant tumors positively correlated with an inflammatory phenotype,suggesting responsiveness to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy(P<0.05).Furthermore,the CIBERSORT algorithm results revealed that EGFR-mutant and ALK-rearranged tumors were characterized by an enriched resting memory CD4+T cell population(P<0.001),as well as a lack of CD8+T cells(P<0.01),and activated memory CD4+T cells(P=0.001).Conclusions:Our study highlighted the complex relationships between immune heterogeneity and immunotherapeutic responses in East Asian NSCLC patients regarding oncogenic dependence.Runsen Jin Chengming Liu Sufei Zheng Xinfeng Wang Xiaoli Feng Hecheng Li Nan Sun Jie He 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:10
5Single atom accelerates ammonia photosynthesis显示文摘Atomically dispersed metal has gained much attention because of the new opportunities they offer in catalysis. However, it is still crucial to understand the mechanism of single-atom catalysis at molecular level for expanding them to other more difficult catalytic reactions, such as ammonia synthesis from nitrogen. In fact, developing ammonia synthesis under ambient conditions to overcome the high energy consumption in well-established Haber-Bosch process has fascinated scientists for many years.Herein, we demonstrate that single Cu atom yields facile valence-electron isolation from the conjugated π electron cloud of p-CN. Electron spin resonance measurements reveal that these isolated valence electrons can be easily excited to generate free electrons under photo-illumination, thus inducing high efficient photo-induced ammonia synthesis under ambient conditions.The NH_3 producing rate of copper modified carbon nitride(Cu-CN) reached 186 μmol g^(-1) h^(-1) under visible light irradiation with the quantum efficiency achieved 1.01% at 420 nm monochromatic light. This finding surely offers a model to open up a new vista for the ammonia synthesis at gentle conditions. 6Frequency-constrained Co-planning of Generation and Energy Storage with High-penetration Renewable Energy显示文摘Large-scale renewable energy integration decreases the system inertia and restricts frequency regulation. To maintain the frequency stability, allocating adequate frequency-support sources poses a critical challenge to planners. In this context, we propose a frequency-constrained coordination planning model of thermal units, wind farms, and battery energy storage systems (BESSs) to provide satisfactory frequency supports. Firstly, a modified multi-machine system frequency response (MSFR) model that accounts for the dynamic responses from both synchronous generators and grid-connected inverters is constructed with preset power-headroom. Secondly, the rate-of-change-of-frequency (ROCOF) and frequency response power are deduced to construct frequency constraints. A data-driven piecewise linearization (DDPWL) method based on hyperplane fitting and data classification is applied to linearize the highly nonlinear frequency response power. Thirdly, frequency constraints are inserted into our planning model, while the unit commitment based on the coordinated operation of the thermal-hydro-wind-BESS hybrid system is implemented. At last, the proposed model is applied to the IEEE RTS-79 test system. 7KRAS-G12D mutation drives immune suppression and the primary resistance of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Background:Although immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)against programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and its ligand PD-L1 have demonstrated potency towards treating patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC),the potential association between Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS)oncogene substitutions and the efficacy of ICIs remains unclear.In this study,we aimed to find point mutations in the KRAS gene resistant to ICIs and elucidate resistance mechanism.Methods:The association between KRAS variant status and the efficacy of ICIs was explored with a clinical cohort(n=74),and confirmed with a mouse model.In addition,the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)of KRASmutant NSCLC,such as CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs)and PD-L1 level,was investigated.Cell lines expressing classic KRAS substitutions were used to explore signaling pathway activation involved in the formation of TIME.Furthermore,interventions that improved TIME were developed to increase responsiveness to ICIs.Results:We observed the inferior efficacy of ICIs in KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC.Based upon transcriptome data and immunostaining results from KRAS-mutant NSCLC,KRAS-G12D point mutation negatively correlated with PD-L1 level and secretion of chemokines CXCL10/CXCL11 that led to a decrease in CD8+TILs,which in turn yielded an immunosuppressive TIME.The analysis of cell lines overexpressing classic KRAS substitutions further revealed that KRAS-G12D mutation suppressed PD-L1 level via the P70S6K/PI3K/AKT axis and reduced CXCL10/CXCL11 levels by down-regulating high mobility group protein A2(HMGA2)level.Notably,paclitaxel,a chemotherapeutic agent,upregulated HMGA2 level,and in turn,stimulated the secretion of CXCL10/CXCL11.Moreover,PD-L1 blockade combined with paclitaxel significantly suppressed tumor growth compared with PD-L1 inhibitor monotherapy in a mouse model with KRAS-G12D-mutant lung adenocarcinoma.Further analyses revealed that the combined treatment significantly enhanced the recruitment of CD8+TILs via the up-regulation of CXCL10/CXCL11 levels.Results of clinical study also revealed the superior efficacy of chemo-immunotherapy in patients with KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC compared with ICI monotherapy.Conclusions:Our study elucidated the molecular mechanism by which KRASG12D mutation drives immunosuppression and enhances resistance of ICIs in NSCLC.Importantly,our findings demonstrate that ICIs in combination with chemotherapy may be more effective in patients with KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC.Chengming Liu Sufei Zheng Zhanyu Wang Sihui Wang Xinfeng Wang Lu Yang Haiyan Xu Zheng Cao Xiaoli Feng Qi Xue Yan Wang Nan Sun Jie He 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,9:4
8Magnetotail dipolarization fronts and particle acceleration:A review显示文摘In this paper, the particle acceleration processes around magnetotail dipolarization fronts(DFs) were reviewed. We summarize the spacecraft observations(including Cluster, THEMIS, MMS) and numerical simulations(including MHD, testparticle, hybrid, LSK, PIC) of these processes. Specifically, we(1) introduce the properties of DFs at MHD scale, ion scale, and electron scale,(2) review the properties of suprathermal electrons with particular focus on the pitch-angle distributions,(3)define the particle-acceleration process and distinguish it from the particle-heating process,(4) identify the particle-acceleration process from spacecraft measurements of energy fluxes, and(5) quantify the acceleration efficiency and compare it with other processes in the magnetosphere(e.g., magnetic reconnection and radiation-belt acceleration processes). We focus on both the acceleration of electrons and ions(including light ions and heavy ions). Regarding electron acceleration, we introduce Fermi,betatron, and non-adiabatic acceleration mechanisms;regarding ion acceleration, we present Fermi, betatron, reflection, resonance, and non-adiabatic acceleration mechanisms. 11Propofol blocks apoptosis and Bcl-2 and Bax expression induced by hypoxia-reoxygenation in primary cultures of rat hippocampal astrocytes显示文摘BACKGROUND:Cerebral hippocampal astrocytes are more sensitive to ischemic injury than neurons.Hypoxic-ischemic brain injury induces profound astrocyte apoptosis,and propofol may protect against astrocyte apoptosis. OBJECTIVE:To verify the protective effects of propofol against astrocyte apoptosis and to investigate anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and pro-apoptotic Bax expression in primary cultures of rat hippocampal astrocytes exposed to hypoxia-reoxygenation for different periods of time following propofol treatment. DESIGN,TIME,AND SETTING:In vitro neural immunocytochemistry was performed at the Central Laboratory of Yunyang Medical College between September 2007 and March 2008. MATERIALS:A total of 30 Wistar rats,aged 1-3 days,with equal numbers of males and females, were included for isolation and culture of hippocampal astrocytes. METHODS:Hippocampal astrocytes were purified and cultured for 3 weeks and treated with four culture conditions:50μL Hank's solution(normal control);0.2 mL/L Intralipid;50μL Hank's solution for 10 minutes followed by hypoxic incubation for 4 hours and normoxic incubation for 12,24,36,48, 60 or 72 hours;propofol(250μmol/L final) for 10 minutes followed by hypoxic incubation for 4 hours and normoxic incubation for 12,24,36,48,60 and 72 hours. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:(1) Morphologic changes in hippocampal astrocytes.(2) Levels of astrocyte apoptosis and Bcl-2 and Bax expression. RESULTS:Hypoxia and reoxygenation increased apoptosis over time,with Bcl-2 expression peaking at 24 hours and decreasing gradually(P<0.01);Bax expression peaked at 72 hours(P< 0.01);the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was 1.4,0.8,and 0.6,respectively,at 24,48 and 72 hours. Non-apoptotic astrocytes showed significant proliferation and swelling.Propofol treatment decreased apoptosis after hypoxia-reoxygenation(P<0.01),as well as Bcl-2 and Bax expression (P<0.05,P<0.01),with Bcl-2/Bax ratios of 1.6-1.8.Propofol treatment also blocked astrocyte proliferation and swelling.No apoptotic cells or Bcl-2/Bax expression was detected in astrocytes cultured in Hank's or Intralipid solution. 13Effects of free-air CO_2 enrichment on adventitious root development of rice under low and normal soil nitrogen levels显示文摘Free air CO2 enrichment(FACE) and nitrogen(N) have marked effects on rice root growth,and numerical simulation can explain these effects. To further define the effects of FACE on root growth of rice, an experiment was performed, using the hybrid indica cultivar Xianyou63. The effects of increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration [CO2], 200 μmol mol-1higher than ambient, on the growth of rice adventitious roots were evaluated, with two levels of N: low(LN, 125 kg ha-1) and normal(NN, 250 kg ha-1). The results showed a significant increase in both adventitious root number(ARN) and adventitious root length(ARL) under FACE treatment. The application of nitrogen also increased ARN and ARL, but these increases were smaller than that under FACE treatment. On the basis of the FACE experiment, numerical models for rice adventitious root number and length were constructed with time as the driving factor. The models illustrated the dynamic development of rice adventitious root number and length after transplanting, regulated either by atmospheric [CO2] or by N application.The simulation result was supported by statistical tests comparing experimental data from different years, and the model yields realistic predictions of root growth. 15Design of Pd{111}-TiO_2 interface for enhanced catalytic efficiency towards formic acid decomposition显示文摘Supports are commonly implemented in the industrial application of heterogeneous catalysts to improve the stability and recyclability of catalysts.The supported catalysts often show the enhanced activity and selectivity in various catalytic reactions.However,the specific contributions of electronic and steric effects to a catalytic system often remain elusive due to the lack of well-defined model systems.In this work,two types of uniform Pd nanocrystals covered by{111}facets in tetrahedral and octahedral shapes,respectively,are synthesized with identical chemical environment and loaded on Ti O_2supports to form hybrid structures(Pd{111}-Ti O_2)towards the application of formic acid decomposition.Our observation suggests that the polarization effect at the interface of Pd-Ti O_2enhances its activity in formic acid decomposition.Moreover,the Pd tetrahedrons-Ti O_2hybrid structure whose Pd{111}-Ti O_2interface possesses a larger angle shows higher catalytic activity,owing to the reduced steric effect as compared to Pd octahedrons-Ti O_2.This study reveals the nature of interface effects in formic acid decomposition,and provides a guidance for the related catalyst design.Yang You Hao Huang Song Xia Zijian Cai Panyiming Liu Chengming Wang Ran Long Li Song Yujie Xiong 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,9:2
16Chemical vapor deposited diamond with versatile grades:from gemstone to quantum electronics显示文摘Chemical vapor deposited(CVD)diamond as a burgeoning multifunctional material with tailored quality and characteristics can be artificially synthesized and controlled for various applications.Correspondingly,the application-related“grade”concept associated with materials choice and design was gradually formulated,of which the availability and the performance are optimally suited.In this review,the explicit diversity of CVD diamond and the clarification of typical grades for applications,i.e.,from resplendent gem-grade to promising quantum-grade,were systematically summarized and discussed,according to the crystal quality and main consideration of ubiquitous nitrogen impurity content as well as major applications.Realizations of those,from quantum-grade with near-ideal crystal to electronic-grade having extremely low imperfections and then to optical,thermal as well as mechanical-grade needing controlled flaws and allowable impurities,would competently fulfill the multi-field application prospects with appropriate choice in terms of cost and quality.Exceptionally,wide range defects and impurities in the gem-grade diamond(only indicating single crystal),which are detrimental for technology applications,endows CVD crystals with fancy colors to challenge their natural counterparts.Yuting ZHENG Chengming LI Jinlong LIU Junjun WEI Xiaotong ZHANG Haitao YE Xiaoping OUYANG 2022Frontiers of Materials Science2022,16,1:1
17Thermal Stress in Free-standing Diamond Films with Cr Interlayer Destroyed显示文摘Thermal stress in large area free-standing diamond films was remarkable during the post-deposition cooling of direct current (DC) arc plasma jet chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process.In this research,the stress release caused by delamination of Cr interlayer was of great importance to ensure the integrity of free-standing diamond film.The effects of Cr interlayer on Mo substrate,namely composite substrate,on thermal stress were investigated.Thermo-mechanical coupling analysis of the thermal stress was applied by finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS code.It was found that the interlayer could be destroyed first by the large thermal stress,and then the stress could be released and the probability of diamond film crack initiation would be reduced.The stress concentration at the bent edge of diamond film was also discussed.In addition,diamond films deposited on Mo substrates with and without Cr interlayer were prepared by DC arc plasma jet CVD system and experimental measurements were used to characterize these films.It was found that composite substrate could be an effective method of growing free-standing crack-free diamond films by DC arc plasma jet CVD system when there is no special requirement to the film strength.Zheng Liu,Liangxian Chen,Chengming Li,Lifu Hei,Jianhua Song,Guangchao Chen,Weizhong Tang and Fanxiu Lv School of Materials Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China 2010Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,11:1

20Efficacy of Qingre Huayu Fang (清热化瘀方) on atherosclerotic vulnerable plaque in apolipoprotein E knockout mice:proteasome pathway involvement显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy and mechanism of the Qingre Huayu Fang(清热化瘀方) on atherosclerotic vulnerable plaque in apolipoprotein E(Apo E) knockout mice through the ubiquitin proteasome pathway.METHODS: Sixty 8-week-old C57BL/6J Apo E knockout mice were fed a high-fat for 12 weeks and randomly divided into four treatment groups(n = 15 each): high-fat control, bortezomib(a proteasome inhibitor), bortezomib combined with Qingre Huayu Fang, and Qingre Huayu Fang alone. Aortic sections were examined for plaque development, inflammatory cell infiltration, type Ⅰ/Ⅲ collagen expression and immunohistochemical staining of CD40L, nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/P65 and ubiquitin.RESULTS: Mice in the high-fat control group had obvious atherosclerosis, with increased aortic plaque area. The degree of atherosclerosis of the atherosclerotic plaque was reduced in all of the treatment groups that received bortezomib and/or Duzhong(Cortex Eucommiae) Qingre Huayu.
