| 1 | Genetic variants of interferon regulatory factor 5 associated with chronic hepatitis B infection显示文摘AIM To investigate possible effects of IRF5 polymorphisms in the 3' UTR region of the IFR5 locus on susceptibilityto hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection and progression of liver diseases among clinically classified Vietnamese patients.METHODS Four IFR5 SNPs(rs13242262 A/T, rs77416878 C/T, rs10488630 A/G, and rs2280714 T/C) were genotyped in clinically classified HBV patients [chronic hepatitis B(CHB). n = 99; liver cirrhosis(LC), n = 131; hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), n = 149] and in 242 healthy controls by direct sequencing and Taq Man realtime PCR assays. RESULTS Comparing patients and controls, no significant association was observed for the four IFR5 variants. However, the alleles rs13242262 T and rs10488630 G contributed to an increased risk of liver cirrhosis(LC vs CHB: OR = 1.5, 95%CI: 1.1-2.3, adjusted P = 0.04; LC vs CHB: OR = 1.7, 95%CI: 1.1-2.6, adjusted P = 0.019). Haplotype IRF5*TCGT constructed from 4 SNPs was observed frequently in LC compared to CHB patients(OR = 2.1, 95%CI: 1.2-3.3, adjusted P = 0.008). Haplotype IRF5*TCAT occurred rather among CHB patients than in the other HBV patient groups(LC vs CHB: OR = 0.4, 95%CI: 0.2-0.8, adjusted P = 0.03; HCC vs CHB: OR = 0.3, 95%CI: 0.15-0.7, adjusted P = 0.003). The IRF5*TCAT haplotype was also associated with increased levels of ALT, AST and bilirubin. | 2 | GIS-based landslide susceptibility modeling:A comparison between fuzzy multi-criteria and machine learning algorithms显示文摘Hazards and disasters have always negative impacts on the way of life.Landslide is an overwhelming natural as well as man-made disaster that causes loss of natural resources and human properties throughout theworld.The present study aimed to assess and compare the prediction efficiency of different models in landslide susceptibility in the Kysuca river basin,Slovakia.In this regard,the fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory combining with the analytic network process(FDEMATEL-ANP),Naïve Bayes(NB)classifier,and random forest(RF)classifier were considered.Initially,a landslide inventory map was produced with 2000 landslide and nonlandslide points by randomly dividedwith a ratio of 70%:30%for training and testing,respectively.The geospatial database for assessing the landslide susceptibility was generated with the help of 16 landslide conditioning factors by allowing for topographical,hydrological,lithological,and land cover factors.The ReliefF methodwas considered for determining the significance of selected conditioning factors and inclusion in the model building.Consequently,the landslide susceptibility maps(LSMs)were generated using the FDEMATEL-ANP,Naïve Bayes(NB)classifier,and random forest(RF)classifier models.Finally,the area under curve(AUC)and different arithmetic evaluation were used for validating and comparing the results and models.The results revealed that random forest(RF)classifier is a promising and optimum model for landslide susceptibility in the study area with a very high value of area under curve(AUC=0.954),lower value of mean absolute error(MAE=0.1238)and root mean square error(RMSE=0.2555),and higher value of Kappa index(K=0.8435)and overall accuracy(OAC=92.2%). | Sk Ajim Ali Farhana Parvin Jana Vojteková Romulus Costache Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh Quoc Bao Pham Matej Vojtek Ljubomir Gigović Ateeque Ahmad Mohammad Ali Ghorbani | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,2: | 3 |

| 4 | An Efficient Adaptive Hierarchical Sliding Mode Control Strategy Using Neural Networks for 3D Overhead Cranes显示文摘In this paper, a new adaptive hierarchical sliding mode control scheme for a 3D overhead crane system is proposed. A controller is first designed by the use of a hierarchical structure of two first-order sliding surfaces represented by two actuated and un-actuated subsystems in the bridge crane. Parameters of the controller are then intelligently estimated, where uncertain parameters due to disturbances in the 3D overhead crane dynamic model are proposed to be represented by radial basis function networks whose weights are derived from a Lyapunov function. The proposed approach allows the crane system to be robust under uncertainty conditions in which some uncertain and unknown parameters are highly difficult to determine. Moreover, stability of the sliding surfaces is proved to be guaranteed. | 5 | Effectiveness on post-stroke hemiplegia in patients:electroacupuncture plus cycling vs electroacupuncture alone显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,Vietnam.METHODS:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT groups.RESULTS:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT groups.Patients in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS:Combination with cycling training significantly improves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture. | Minh Duc Nguyen Thanh Van Tran Quoc Vinh Nguyen Ninh Khac Nguyen Son Truong Vu Luu Trong Nguyen Linh Vu Phuong Dang | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,2: | 2 |
| 6 | Flood susceptibility modelling using advanced ensemble machine learning models显示文摘Floods are one of nature's most destructive disasters because of the immense damage to land,buildings,and human fatalities.It is difficult to forecast the areas that are vulnerable to flash flooding due to the dynamic and complex nature of the flash floods.Therefore,earlier identification of flash flood susceptible sites can be performed using advanced machine learning models for managing flood disasters.In this study,we applied and assessed two new hybrid ensemble models,namely Dagging and Random Subspace(RS)coupled with Artificial Neural Network(ANN),Random Forest(RF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)which are the other three state-of-the-art machine learning models for modelling flood susceptibility maps at the Teesta River basin,the northern region of Bangladesh.The application of these models includes twelve flood influencing factors with 413 current and former flooding points,which were transferred in a GIS environment.The information gain ratio,the multicollinearity diagnostics tests were employed to determine the association between the occurrences and flood influential factors.For the validation and the comparison of these models,for the ability to predict the statistical appraisal measures such as Freidman,Wilcoxon signed-rank,and t-paired tests and Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(ROC)were employed.The value of the Area Under the Curve(AUC)of ROC was above 0.80 for all models.For flood susceptibility modelling,the Dagging model performs superior,followed by RF,the ANN,the SVM,and the RS,then the several benchmark models.The approach and solution-oriented outcomes outlined in this paper will assist state and local authorities as well as policy makers in reducing flood-related threats and will also assist in the implementation of effective mitigation strategies to mitigate future damage. | Abu Reza Md Towfiqul Islam Swapan Talukdar Susanta Mahato Sonali Kundu Kutub Uddin Eibek Quoc Bao Pham Alban Kuriqi Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,3: | 2 |

| 14 | Uncertainty analysis of hydrological modeling in a tropicalarea using different algorithms显示文摘Hydrological modeling outputs are subject to uncertainty resulting from different sources of errors (e.g., error in input data, model structure, and model para-meters), making quantification of uncertainty in hydro- logical modeling imperative and meant to improve reliability of modeling results. The uncertainty analysis must solve difficulties in calibration of hydrological models, which further increase in areas with data scarcity. The purpose of this study is to apply four uncertainty analysis algorithms to a semi-distributed hydrological model, quantifying different source of uncertainties (especially parameter uncertainty) and evaluate their performance. In this study, the Soil and Water Assessment Tools (SWAT) eco-hydrological model was implemented for the watershed in the center of Vietnam. The sensitivity of parameters was analyzed, and the model was calibrated. The uncertainty analysis for the hydrological model was conducted based on four algorithms: Generalized Like-lihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE), Sequential Uncer-tainty Fitting (SUFI), Parameter Solution method (ParaSol) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The performance of the algorithms was compared using P-factor and R- factor, coefficient of determination (R^2), the Nash Sutcliffe coefficient of efficiency (NSE) and Percent Bias (PBIAS). The results showed the high performance of SUFI and PSO with P-factor > 0.83, R-factor < 0.56 and R^2>0.91, NSE > 0.89, and 0.18 < PBIAS < 0.32. Hence, we would suggest to use SUFI-2 initially to set the parameter ranges, and further use PSO for final analysis.
