1Hypocrellin A-based photodynamic action induces apoptosis in A549 cells through ROS-mediated mitochondrial signaling pathway显示文摘Over recent decades, many studies have reported that hypocrellin A(HA) can eliminate cancer cells with proper irradiation in several cancer cell lines. However, the precise molecular mechanism underlying its anticancer effect has not been fully defined. HA-mediated cytotoxicity and apoptosis in human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells were evaluated after photodynamic therapy(PDT). A temporal quantitative proteomics approach by isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ) 2 D liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric(LC–MS/MS) was introduced to help clarify molecular cytotoxic mechanisms and identify candidate targets of HA-induced apoptotic cell death. Specific caspaseinhibitors were used to further elucidate the molecular pathway underlying apoptosis in PDT-treated A549 cells. Finally, down-stream apoptosis-related protein was evaluated. Apoptosis induced by HA was associated with cell shrinkage, externalization of cell membrane phosphatidylserine, DNA fragmentation,and mitochondrial disruption, which were preceded by increased intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) generations. Further studies showed that PDT treatment with 0.08 mmol/L HA resulted in mitochondrial disruption, pronounced release of cytochrome c, and activation of caspase-3,-9, and-7.Together, HA may be a possible therapeutic agent directed toward mitochondria and a promising photodynamic anticancer candidate for further evaluation.Shanshan Qi Lingyuan Guo Shuzhen Yan Robert J.Lee Shuqin Yu Shuanglin Chen 2019Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2019,9,2:12
2Impacts of land use changes on groundwater resources in the Heihe River Basin显示文摘Land use and land coverchangeshave a greatimpacton the regionalhydrologicalprocess. Based on three periods ofremote sensing data from the 1960s and the long-term observed data of groundwaterfrom the 1980s,theimpactsofland use changeson the groundwatersystem in the middle reach ofHeihe RiverBasin in recentthree decades are analyzed by the perspective ofgroundwater recharge and discharge system. The results indicate that with the different intensities of land use changes, the impacts on the groundwater recharge were 2.602×108 m3/a in the former 15 years (1969-1985) and 0.218 ×108 m3/a in the latter 15 years (1986-2000), and the impacts on the groundwaterdischarge were 2.035×108 m3/a and 4.91×108 m3/a respectively.W hen the groundwater exploitation wasin a reasonable range lessthan 3.0×108 m3/a,the land use changescould controlthe changes of regionalgroundwater resources.Influenced by the land use changes and the large-scale exploitation in the recentdecade,the groundwaterresourcespresentapparently regionaldifferencesin Zhangye region. 3Determination of the local magnitudes of small earthquakes using a dense seismic array in the Changning-Zhaotong Shale Gas Field,Southern Sichuan Basin显示文摘With the development of unconventional shale gas in the southern Sichuan Basin,seismicity in the region has increased significantly in recent years.Though the existing sparse regional seismic stations can capture most earthquakes with ML≥2.5,a great number of smaller earthquakes are often omitted due to limited detection capacity.With the advent of portable seismic nodes,many dense arrays for monitoring seismicity in the unconventional oil and gas fields have been deployed,and the magnitudes of those earthquakes are key to understand the local fault reactivation and seismic potentials.However,the current national standard for determining the local magnitudes was not specifically designed for monitoring stations in close proximity,utilizing a calibration function with a minimal resolution of 5 km in the epicentral distance.That is,the current national standard tends to overestimate the local magnitudes for stations within short epicentral distances,and can result in discrepancies for dense arrays.In this study,we propose a new local magnitude formula which corrects the overestimated magnitudes for shorter distances,yielding accurate event magnitudes for small earthquakes in the Changning-Zhaotong shale gas field in the southern Sichuan Basin,monitored by dense seismic arrays in close proximity.The formula is used to determine the local magnitudes of 7,500 events monitored by a two-phased dense array with several hundred 5 Hz 3 C nodes deployed from the end of February 2019 to early May 2019 in the Changning-Zhaotong shale gas field.The magnitude of completeness(MC)using the dense array is-0.1,compared to MC 1.1 by the sparser Chinese Seismic Network(CSN).In addition,using a machine learning detection and picking procedure,we successfully identify and process some 14,000 earthquakes from the continuous waveforms,a ten-fold increase over the catalog recorded by CSN for the same period,and the MC is further reduced to-0.3 from-0.1 compared to the catalog obtained via manual processing using the same dense array.The proposed local magnitude formula can be adopted for calculating accurate local magnitudes of future earthquakes using dense arrays in the shale gas fields of the Sichuan Basin.This will help to better characterize the local seismic risks and potentials.Wen Yang GuoYi Chen LingYuan Meng Yang Zang HaiJiang Zhang JunLun Li 2021Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,6:4
4Low Speed Axial Compressor Stall Margin Improvement by Unsteady Plasma Actuation显示文摘This research investigates the use of single dielectric barrier discharge(SDBD) actuators for energizing the tip leakage flow to suppress rotating stall inception and extend the stable operating range of a low speed axial compressor with a single rotor.The jet induced by the plasma actuator adds momentum to the flow in the tip region and has a significant impact on the tip-gap flow.Experiments are carried out on a low speed axial compressor with a single rotor.The static pressure is measured at both the rotor inlet and outlet.The flow coefficient and pressure rise coefficient are calculated.Then the characteristic line is acquired to show the overall performance of the compressor.With unsteady plasma actuation of 18kV and 60W the compressor stability range improvement is realized at rotor speed of 1500 r/min – 2400 r/min.LI Gang XU Yanji YANG Lingyuan DU Wei ZHU Junqiang NIE Chaoqun 2014Journal of Thermal Science2014,23,2:3
5Formation of Superoxide Radical and Hydrogen Peroxide Enhanced by Trinitrotoluene in Rat Liver, Brain, Kidney, and Testicle in Vitro and Monkey Liver in Vivo显示文摘Trinitrotoluene (TNT) increased the formation of adrenochrome from adrenaline and the formation of formaldehyde from methanol in rat liver mitochondria and microsomes in vitro as well as in monkey liver mitrochondria and microsomes in vivo. The effects were more prominent at higher TNT concentrations. These findings indicate that TNT enhances the production of superoxide radicals (O2-) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The production of O2- was more prominent in systems containing added TNT than in those containing added benzyl viologen. H2O2 production by mitochondria was more pronounced in the liver than in other organs, but its production by microsomes was more pronounced in the brain than in other organs. 6Bounding of near-fault ground motion based on radiated seismic energy with a consideration of fault frictional mechanisms显示文摘The energy radiated as seismic waves strongly depends on the fault rupture process associated with rupture speed and dynamic frictional mechanisms involved in the fault slip motion.Following McGarr and Fletcher approach,we derived a physics-based relationship of the weighted average fault slip velocity vs apparent stress,rupture speed and static stress drop based on a dynamic circular fault model.The resultant function can be approximately used to bound near-fault ground motion and seismic energy associated with near-fault coseismic deformation.Fault frictional overshoot and undershoot mechanisms governed by a simple slip-weakening constitutive relation are included in our consideration by using dynamic rupture models named as M-and D-models and proposed by Madariaga(1976) and Boatwright.We applied the above function to the 2008 great Wenchuan earthquake and the 1999 Jiji(Chi-Chi) earthquake to infer the near-fault ground motion called slip weighted average particle velocity and obtained that such model-dependent prediction of weighted average ground velocities is consistent to the results derived from the near-fault strong motion observations.Moreover,we compared our results with the results by McGarr and Fletcher approach,and we found that the values of the weighted average particle velocities we obtained for these two earthquakes are generally smaller and closer to the values by direct integration of strong motion recordings of the near-fault particle velocity waveform data.In other words,if this result comes to be true,it would be a straightforward way used to constrain the near-fault ground motion or to estimate source parameters such as rupture speed,static and dynamic stress drops.Baoping Shi Boyan Liu Lingyuan Meng 2010Earthquake Science2010,23,4:2
7Preparation of High-precision Electrospun Nanoair Filter Paper for Air Purification显示文摘Electrospinning technology has become a research hotspot becauseof its advantages, such as simple operation, low cost, large specific surfacearea, high porosity, and good fiber continuity. Here, a new type of compositenanoair filter paper was prepared using electrospinning technology. Toimprove the practicability of air filter base paper, phenolic resin was used as acuring agent to improve the strength. The results show that the electrospunnanoair filter paper with air filter paper as the receiving substrate andpolyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution as the spinning solution excellentlyperformed in all aspects. 12Topological electronic states in HfRuP family superconductors显示文摘Based on the first-principles calculations and experimental measurements,we report that the hexagonal phase of ternary transition metal pnictides TT’X(T=Zr,Hf;T’=Ru;X=P,As),which are well-known noncentrosymmetric superconductors with relatively high transition temperatures,host nontrivial bulk topology.Before the superconducting phase transition,we find that HfRuP belongs to a Weyl semimetal phase with 12 pairs of type-II Weyl points,while ZrRuAs,ZrRuP and HfRuAs belong to a topological crystalline insulating phase with trivial Fu-Kane Z_(2) indices but nontrivial mirror Chern numbers.High-quality single crystal samples of the noncentrosymmetric superconductors with these two different topological states have been obtained and the superconductivity is verified experimentally.The wide-range band structures of ZrRuAs have been identified by ARPES and reproduced by theoretical calculations.Combined with intrinsic superconductivity,the nontrivial topology of the normal state may generate unconventional superconductivity in both bulk and surfaces.Our findings could largely inspire the experimental searching for possible topological superconductivity in these compounds.Yuting Qian Simin Nie Changjiang Yi Lingyuan Kong Chen Fang Tian Qian Hong Ding Youguo Shi Zhijun Wang Hongming Weng Zhong Fang 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:1

20Experimental evidence of anomalously large superconducting gap on topological surface state of b-Bi2Pd film显示文摘Connate topological superconductor(TSC) combines topological surface states with nodeless superconductivity in a single material, achieving effective p-wave pairing without interface complication. By combining angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and in-situ molecular beam epitaxy, we studied the momentum-resolved superconductivity in b-Bi2 Pd film. We found that the superconducting gap of topological surface state(DTSS$ 3.8 meV) is anomalously enhanced from its bulk value(Db$ 0.8 meV). The ratio of 2 DTSS/kBTc$ 16.3, is substantially larger than the BCS value. By measuring b-Bi2 Pd bulk single crystal as a comparison, we clearly observed the upward-shift of chemical potential in the film. In addition, a concomitant increasing of surface weight on the topological surface state was revealed by our first principle calculation, suggesting that the Dirac-fermion-mediated parity mixing may cause this anomalous superconducting enhancement.
