| 1 | Pollution characteristics and health risk assessment of benzene homologues in ambient air in the northeastern urban area of Beijing, China显示文摘Ambient benzene homologues were measured at a site in the northeastern urban area of Beijing, China, from August 24 to September 4, 2012 by SUMMA canister sampling followed by laboratory determination using cryogenic cold trap pre-concentration-GC-MS/FID, and their health risks were also assessed. Daily total benzene homologues ranged from 0.99 to 49.71 μg/m3with an average of 11.98 μg/m3. Benzene homologues showed higher concentrations in the morning and evening than that at noontime. Comparison with previous studies revealed a trend of decrease for ambient benzene homologues probably due to the efective emission control in Beijing in recent years. Vehicular exhaust was the main source while volatilization of paints and solvents also made substantial contributions. Health risk assessment showed that BTEX(benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene, m-xylene and p-xylene) and styrene had no appreciable adverse non-cancer health risks for the exposed population, while benzene has potential cancer risk of 1.34E-05. | 2 | An injectable conductive hydrogel restores electrical transmission at myocardial infarct site to preserve cardiac function and enhance repair显示文摘Myocardial infarction(MI)leads to massive cardiomyocyte death and deposition of collagen fibers.This fibrous tissue disrupts electrical signaling in the myocardium,leading to cardiac systolic and diastolic dysfunction,as well as arrhythmias.Conductive hydrogels are a promising therapeutic strategy for MI.Here,we prepared a highly water-soluble conductive material(GP)by grafting polypyrrole(PPy)onto non-conductive gelatin.This component was added to the gel system formed by the Schiff base reaction between oxidized xanthan gum(OXG)and gelatin to construct an injectable conductive hydrogel.The prepared self-healing OGGP3(3 wt%GP)hydrogel had good biocompatibility,elastic modulus,and electrical conductivity that matched the natural heart.The prepared biomaterials were injected into the rat myocardial scar tissue 2 days after MI.We found that the cardiac function of the rats treated with OGGP3 was improved,making it more difficult to induce arrhythmias.The electrical resistivity of myocardial fibrous tissue was reduced,and the conduction velocity of myocardial tissue was increased.Histological analysis showed reduced infarct size,increased left ventricular wall thickness,increased vessel density,and decreased inflammatory response in the infarcted area.Our findings clearly demonstrate that the OGGP3 hydrogel attenuates ventricular remodeling and inhibits infarct dilation,thus showing its potential for the treatment of MI. | Linghong Zhang Tao Li Yan Yu Kun Shi Zhongwu Bei Yongjun Qian Zhiyong Qian | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,2: | 2 |
| 3 | Preparation of Ti-based Yb-doped SnO_(2)-RuO_(2) electrode and electrochemical oxidation treatment of coking wastewater显示文摘In this study,the Ti/SnO_(2)-RuO_(2) electrodes with different Yb contents were prepared by sol-gel method and thermal decomposition method,and the surface morphology and crystal structure of the electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),atomic force microscopy(AFM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD),the electrochemical properties of the electrodes were tested by linear sweep voltammetry(LSV) and cyclic voltammetry(CV).The electrochemical oxidation device was constructed with Yb-doped Ti/SnO_(2)-RuO_(2) electrode as the anode and titanium plate as the cathode,and the electrochemical oxidation effect and product changes of the anode on co king wastewater were investigated.The results show that the surface of the electrode is flat with high crystallinity of SnO_(2) and RuO_(2) crystals at1.5% Yb doping,and the LSV and CV curves indicate that the Yb doping of 1.5% increases the oxygen precipitation potential and electrocatalytic oxidation activity of the electrode.When the electrode with Yb doping of 1.5% is the anode with current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) electrochemical oxidation time of 30 min,the electrode can remove chemical oxygen demand(COD) up to 85.06%,total organic carbon(TOC) up to 60.59% and UV_(254) from 1.594 to 0.507 for coking wastewater.Gas chromatography(GC-MS),UV-vis and three-dimensional fluorescence results of coking wastewater before and after treatment show that large toxic substances in coking wastewater are degraded to low toxic organic substances,and most soluble organic substances are degraded and transformed.This study provides the possibility of basic research for the engineering practice of electrochemical oxidation for the treatment of coking wastewater. | Weida Wang Ke Wang Wenting Hao Tingting Zhang Yijie Liu Linghong Yu Weiping Li | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,5: | 2 |

| 7 | The stability of deformation twins in aluminum enhanced by alloying elements显示文摘Introducing and stabilizing twins in aluminum is a challenge for metals research due to their high formation energy.Employing first-principles calculations,we investigated the twin boundary segregation of alloying elements and their impact on the twin boundary energy in aluminum.Alloying elements with small solubilities but strong interaction with twin boundary would significantly reduce twin boundary energies in aluminum at low temperatures.With increasing temperature,their segregation near twin boundary weakens,leading to their influence on twin boundary energies reduced.Some elements with large solubilities may greatly reduce the twin energies not only at low temperatures but also at high temperatures.Based on careful analysis of charge density and atomic radius,it has been found that chemical difference has little influence on twin boundary energy whereas the atomic size effect plays a leading role in causing the change of twin boundary energy. | Linghong Liu Jianghua Chen Touwen Fan Shunli Shang Qinqin Shao Dingwang Yuan Yu Dai | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,11: | 0 |
