1Roles of MicroRNAs in the Caenorhabditis elegans Nervous System显示文摘The first microRNA was discovered in Caenorhabditis elegans in 1993,and since then,thousands of microRNAs have been identified from almost all eukaryotic organisms examined.MicroRNAs function in many biological events such as cell fate determination,metabolism,apoptosis,and carcinogenesis.So far,more than 250 microRNAs have been identified in C.elegans;however,functions for most of these microRNAs are still unknown.A small number of C.elegans microRNAs are associated with known physiological roles such as developmental timing,cell differentiation,stress response,and longevity.In this review,we summarize known roles of microRNAs in neuronal differentiation and function of C.elegans,and discuss interesting perspectives for future studies.Lingfeng Meng Liang Chen Zhaoyong Li Zheng-Xing Wu Ge Shan 2013Journal of Genetics and Genomics2013,40,9:4

3Wear mechanism and life prediction of the ripper in a 9-m-diameter shield machine tunneling project of the Beijing new airport line in a sand-pebble stratum显示文摘Tool wear is a noteworthy problem in the process of shield tunneling,and the degree of wear varies with stratum.The sand-pebble strata in Beijing are typically mechanically unstable.However,many subways are buried wholly or partially in sand-pebble strata.Taking the Beijing New Airport line tunneling project as research background,this study evaluated the wear characteristics of the multiconfiguration rippers of a 9-m-diameter spoke-type shield tunneling machine in a sand-pebble stratum.The wear values of five ripper teeth and ripper flanks were analyzed based on field-measured data from the Beijing New Airport line project.As the analytical results show,the wear value generally increases as the installation radius enlarges with the rise of cutting trace length.The wear of the 190-rippers was divided into five categories:pedestal wear,ripper teeth collapse,uniform wear,ripper teeth falling off and ripper flank wear.Uniform wear of the ripper teeth and ripper flank wear were the two abrasion types of the 190-rippers.The teeth of the 155-rippers mostly maintained their cutting capacity under the protection of the 190-rippers.A wear prediction model of linear fitting field data was developed for a 190-ripper face to obtain the optimum shield driving distance in the sand-pebble stratum.The average wear coefficients of the 190-ripper before and after replacement matched well,being 0.045 and 0.066 mm/km,respectively.The results of this study provide a theoretical reference for tool wear prediction in shield construction under similar geological conditions.Hua Jiang Jiachen Zhu Xiaoyan Zhang Jinxun Zhang Hongliang Li Lingfeng Meng 2022Deep Underground Science and Engineering2022,1,1:1

6Improved methodology for efficient establishment of the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion model in pigs through the median thoracic incision显示文摘To investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of establishing porcine ischemia-reperfusion models by ligating the left anterior descending(LAD)coronary artery,we first randomly divided 16 male Bama pigs into a sham group and a model group.After anesthesia,we separated the arteries and veins.Subsequently,we rapidly located the LAD coronary artery at the beginning of its first diagonal branch through a mid-chest incision.Then,we loosened and released the ligation line after five minutes of pre-occlusion.Finally,we ligated the LAD coronary artery in situ two minutes later and loosened the ligature 60 min after ischemia.Compared with the sham group,electrocardiogram showed multiple continuous lead ST-segment elevations,and ultrasound cardiogram showed significantly lower ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening at one hour and seven days post-operation in the model group.Twenty-four hours after the operation,cardiac troponin T and creatine kinase-MB isoenzyme levels significantly increased in the model group,compared with the sham group.Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed the presence of many inflammatory cells infiltrating the interstitium of the myocardium in the model group but not in the sham group.Masson staining revealed a significant increase in infarct size in the ischemia/reperfusion group.All eight pigs in the model group recovered with normal sinus heart rates,and the survival rate was 100%.In conclusion,the method can provide an accurate and stable large animal model for preclinical research on ischemia/reperfusion with a high success rate and homogeneity of the myocardial infarction area.Liuhua Zhou Jiateng Sun Tongtong Yang Sibo Wang Tiankai Shan Lingfeng Gu Jiawen Chen Tianwen Wei Di Zhao Chong Du Yulin Bao Hao Wang Xiaohu Lu Haoliang Sun Meng Lv Di Yang Liansheng Wang 2023The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,4:1
7Real time monitoring of nucleic acids ligation based on molecular beacon显示文摘A novel method has been developed to monitor the nucleic acids ligation process. Molecular beacon was employed here to convert the ligation information into fluo-rescence signal quickly and quantitatively. This method pro-vides effective and original approach to researching the dy-namic ligation process and the interactions between nucleic acids and ligase. An analytical method for T4 DNA ligase based on this way has been built up with a linear detection range from 2.3×10-4 U/mL to 0.23 U/mL. 8Rapid and durable oxygen reduction reaction enabled by a perovskite oxide with self-cleaning surface显示文摘The growth of electrochemically inert segregation layers on the surface of solid oxide fuel cell cathodes has become a bottleneck restricting the development of perovskite-structured oxygen reduction catalysts.Here,we report a new discovery in which enriched Ba and Fe ions on the near-surface of Nd_(1/2)Ba_(1/2)Co_(1/3)Fe_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(3-δ)spontaneously agglomerate into dispersed Ba_(5)Fe_(2)O_(8) nanoparticles and maintain a highly active and durable perovskite structure on the surface.This unique surface selfcleaning phenomenon is related to the low average potential energy of Ba_(5)Fe_(2)O_(8),which is grown on the near-surface layer.The electrochemically inert Ba_(5)Fe_(2)O_(8) segregation layer on the near-surface of the perovskite catalyst achieves self-cleaning by regulating the formation energy of enriched metal oxides.This self-cleaned perovskite surface exhibits an ultrafast oxygen exchange rate,high catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction,and good adaptability to the actual working conditions of solid oxide fuel cell stacks.This study paves a new way for overcoming the stubborn problem of perovskite catalyst surface deactivation and enriches the scientific knowledge of surface catalysis.Shengli Pang Yifan Song Meng Cui Xin Tang Chao Long Lingfeng Ke Gongmei Yang Ting Fang Yong Guan Chonglin Chen 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,8:0
9Highly Efficient Aligned Ion‑Conducting Network and Interface Chemistries for Depolarized All‑Solid‑State Lithium Metal Batteries显示文摘Improving the long-term cycling stability and energy density of all-solid-state lithium(Li)-metal batteries(ASSLMBs)at room temperature is a severe challenge because of the notorious solid–solid interfacial contact loss and sluggish ion transport.Solid electrolytes are generally studied as two-dimensional(2D)structures with planar interfaces,showing limited interfacial contact and further resulting in unstable Li/electrolyte and cathode/electrolyte interfaces.Herein,three-dimensional(3D)architecturally designed composite solid electrolytes are developed with independently controlled structural factors using 3D printing processing and post-curing treatment.Multiple-type electrolyte films with vertical-aligned micro-pillar(p-3DSE)and spiral(s-3DSE)structures are rationally designed and developed,which can be employed for both Li metal anode and cathode in terms of accelerating the Li+transport within electrodes and reinforcing the interfacial adhesion.The printed p-3DSE delivers robust long-term cycle life of up to 2600 cycles and a high critical current density of 1.92 mA cm^(−2).The optimized electrolyte structure could lead to ASSLMBs with a superior full-cell areal capacity of 2.75 mAh cm^(−2)(LFP)and 3.92 mAh cm^(−2)(NCM811).This unique design provides enhancements for both anode and cathode electrodes,thereby alleviating interfacial degradation induced by dendrite growth and contact loss.The approach in this study opens a new design strategy for advanced composite solid polymer electrolytes in ASSLMBs operating under high rates/capacities and room temperature.Yongbiao Mu Shixiang Yu Yuzhu Chen Youqi Chu Buke Wu Qing Zhang Binbin Guo Lingfeng Zou Ruijie Zhang Fenghua Yu Meisheng Han Meng Lin Jinglei Yang Jiaming Bai Lin Zeng 2024Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,5:0
10Lightweight Network Ensemble Architecture for Environmental Perception on the Autonomous System显示文摘It is important for the autonomous system to understand environmental information.For the autonomous system,it is desirable to have a strong generalization ability to deal with different complex environmental information,as well as have high accuracy and quick inference speed.Network ensemble architecture is a good choice to improve network performance.However,it is unsuitable for real-time applications on the autonomous system.To tackle this problem,a new neural network ensemble named partial-shared ensemble network(PSENet)is presented.PSENet changes network ensemble architecture from parallel architecture to scatter architecture and merges multiple component networks together to accelerate the inference speed.To make component networks independent of each other,a training method is designed to train the network ensemble architecture.Experiments on Camvid and CIFAR-10 reveal that PSENet achieves quick inference speed while maintaining the ability of ensemble learning.In the real world,PSENet is deployed on the unmanned system and deals with vision tasks such as semantic segmentation and environmental prediction in different fields.Yingpeng Dai Junzheng Wang Jing Li Lingfeng Meng Songfeng Wang 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,1:0
11Multi-disciplinary surgery for simultaneous resection of multiple tumors in a patient with newly diagnosed metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma显示文摘Metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma(MPP)is a rare endocrine tumor that originates from extra-adrenal chromaffin cells such as the paraganglia cells of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves.It usually causes multiple solid tumors and exhibits strong aggressiveness with poor prognosis,with a reported 5-year survival rate of less than 50%.Cases of brain and retroperitoneal metastases at the initial diagnosis have not yet been reported.We report a 41-year-old male patient initially diagnosed with MPP in the brain and retroperitoneum who underwent multi-disciplinary collaborative surgery and simultaneous removal of two tumors at our center.Postoperative pathology revealed infiltrative growth of a skull base tumor.The patient chose to receive the tyrosine kinase inhibitor sunitinib as a targeted treatment.A 3-month follow-up after surgery showed that the patient recovered well without signs of metastasis or recurrence.We present multi-disciplinary surgery under similar circumstances for enhanced treatment and postoperative management.The patient demonstrates a favorable prognosis during postoperative follow-up,indicating that simultaneous multidisciplinary surgery may offer greater benefits for MPP patients.Jibo Jing Lingfeng Meng Yaoguang Zhang Runhua Tang Haoran Wang Jiaxing Ning Xinhao Wang 2023Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy2023,1,4:0
