| 2 | Automatic Identification of Clear-Air Echoes Based on Millimeter-wave Cloud Radar Measurements显示文摘Millimeter-wave cloud radar(MMCR)provides the capability of detecting the features of micro particles inside clouds and describing the internal microphysical structure of the clouds.Therefore,MMCR has been widely applied in cloud observations.However,due to the influence of non-meteorological factors such as insects,the cloud observations are often contaminated by non-meteorological echoes in the clear air,known as clear-air echoes.It is of great significance to automatically identify the clear-air echoes in order to extract effective meteorological information from the complex weather background.The characteristics of clear-air echoes are studied here by combining data from four devices:an MMCR,a laser-ceilometer,an L-band radiosonde,and an all-sky camera.In addition,a new algorithm,which includes feature extraction,feature selection,and classification,is proposed to achieve the automatic identification of clear-air echoes.The results show that the recognition algorithm is fairly satisfied in both simple and complex weather conditions.The recognition accuracy can reach up to 95.86%for the simple cases when cloud echoes and clear-air echoes are separate,and 88.38%for the complicated cases when low cloud echoes and clear-air echoes are mixed. | Ling YANG Yun WANG Zhongke WANG Qian YANG Xingang FAN Fa TAO Xiaoqiong ZHEN Zhipeng YANG | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,8: | 2 |

| 4 | Identification of three members of the Bmp family from yellow catfish Pelteobagrus fulvidraco and their transcriptional responses to a high fat diet显示文摘In this study,three members of the Bmp family were cloned and characterized in yellow catfish Pelteobagrus fulvidraco,including Bmp2a,Bmp4 and Bmp9.The predicted amino acid sequences of P.fulvidraco Bmp2a,Bmp4 and Bmp9 showed the characteristic domains of the Bmp family,including an N-terminal signal peptide,Arg-X-XArg site,TGF-β family signature and seven conserved cysteines,indicating that function is likely to have been conserved during evolution.mRNAs of the three Bmp genes had a variable level of expression in tissues.Compared to the control diet,a high fat diet tended to down-regulate the mRNA expression of Bmp2a,Bmp4 and Bmp9 in mesenteric fat,liver and ovary,while it tended to up-regulate their mRNA levels in muscle and kidney.The responses to dietary lipid status and the potential role in lipid metabolism have not previously been reported and reinforces the idea of their multiple functions.Our findings provide the first data about the potential role of the Bmp family in lipid metabolism in teleost. | Zhipeng Tai Shicheng Ling Jie Cheng Xiaoying Tan | 2021 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,1: | 0 |
| 5 | Terahertz wave avalanche breakdown transistor for high-performance switching显示文摘There is still a lack of high-performance terahertz(THz) modulators with wide operation bandwidth and large modulation depth due to the underlying physics limitation behind existing approaches. Meanwhile, for many applications, simple compact THz modulators working straightforward in the transmission mode are also highly desired. Here, we demonstrate a THz modulator with a maximal transmission-amplitude modulation depth of 99.9%(switching ratio of 1000) based on a commonly used silica-on-silicon structure. Different from those reported graphene or metamaterials enhanced proposals, the device we proposed works within a reversible avalanche breakdown region of silicon that has not been studied yet and has the potential to modulate/switch THz waves efficiently. Further, we proved that the modulation depth exceeds 97% in the frequency range from 0.2 to 1 THz in the experiment. | 7 | Innovative insights into extrachromosomal circular DNAs in gynecologic tumors and reproduction显示文摘Originating but free from chromosomal DNA,extrachromosomal circular DNAs(eccDNAs)are organized in circular form and have long been found in unicellular and multicellular eukaryotes.Their biogenesis and function are poorly understood as they are characterized by sequence homology with linear DNA,for which few detection methods are available.Recent advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies have revealed that eccDNAs play crucial roles in tumor formation,evolution,and drug resistance as well as aging,genomic diversity,and other biological processes,bringing it back to the research hotspot.Several mechanisms of eccDNA formation have been proposed,including the breakage-fusion-bridge(BFB)and translocation-deletion-amplification models.Gynecologic tumors and disorders of embryonic and fetal development are major threats to human reproductive health.The roles of eccDNAs in these pathological processes have been partially elucidated since the first discovery of eccDNA in pig sperm and the double minutes in ovarian cancer ascites.The present review summarized the research history,biogenesis,and currently available detection and analytical methods for eccDNAs and clarified their functions in gynecologic tumors and reproduction.We also proposed the application of eccDNAs as drug targets and liquid biopsy markers for prenatal diagnosis and the early detection,prognosis,and treatment of gynecologic tumors.This review lays theoretical foundations for future investigations into the complex regulatory networks of eccDNAs in vital physiological and pathological processes. | Ning Wu Ling Wei Zhipeng Zhu Qiang Liu Kailong Li Fengbiao Mao Jie Qiao Xiaolu Zhao | 2024 | Protein & Cell2024,15,1: | 0 |
