1Towards mass applications:A review on the challenges and developments in metallic bipolar plates for PEMFC显示文摘The industrial applications of proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)technology have attracted tremendous capitals and research attention in the last ten years.However,there are still many bottlenecking problems before the progress triumphs.Among them,a core challenge is the improvement of bipolar plates(BPs).As a key component of PEMFC,the BPs undertake the crucial functions of distributing reactant gases and cooling medium,collecting the electricity generated,exporting waste products,etc.Due to the unique advantages of ultra-thin,high strength,easy-to-mass-produce,etc.,metallic BPs have been considered as the promising solution for the automotive and aerospace application scenarios with a strong requirement of power density.However,many challenges remain to be conquered in metallic BPs to fully meet all the requirements in those industrial applications such as corrosion,toxic ion emission and fabrication.The aim of this work is to provide an overview of the important researches in recent years dealing with the most critical problems of metallic BPs before industrial applications.The future studying directions in material and processing methods development are also given towards the wide application of metallic BP PEMFCs.Zhutian Xu Diankai Qiu Peiyun Yi Linfa Peng Xinmin Lai 2020Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2020,30,6:8
2RESUSPENSION METHOD FOR ROAD SURFACE DUST COLLECTION AND AERODYNAMIC SIZE DISTRIBUTION CHARACTERIZATION显示文摘Traffic-generated fugitive dust is a source of urban atmospheric particulate pollution in Beijing. This paper introduces the resuspension method, recommended by the US EPA in AP-42 documents, for collecting Beijing road-surface dust. Analysis shows a single-peak distribution in the number size distribution and a double-peak mode for mass size distribution of the road surface dust. The median diameter of the mass concentration distribution of the road dust on a high-grade road was higher than that on a low-grade road. The ratio of PM2.5 to PM10 was consistent with that obtained in a similar study for Hong Kong. For the two selected road samples, the average relative deviation of the size distribution was 10.9% and 11.9%. 3ANALYTICAL CHIP FORMATION MODEL OF MICRO-END-MILLING显示文摘A new analytical chip formation model is proposed for micro-end-milling operations. The model calculates an instantaneous uncut chip thickness by considering the combination of exact trochoidal trajectory of the tool tip and tool run-out,while the simplified circular trajectory and the neglected run-out create negligible change in conventional-scale chip formation models. Newton-Raphson iterative method is employed during the calculation to obtain quadratic convergence. 4Characteristics of nanoparticles emitted from burning of biomass fuels显示文摘The characteristics of the particles of the smoke that is emitted from the burning of biomass fuels were experimentally investigated using a laboratory-scale tube furnace and different types of biomass fuels:rubber wood,whole wood pellets and rice husks.Emitted amounts of particles,particle-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and water-soluble organic carbon(WSOC)are discussed relative to the size of the emitted particles,ranging to as small as nano-size(<70 nm),and to the rate of heating rate during combustion.differential thermal analysis(DTA)and thermogravimetric analysis(TG)techniques were used to examine the effect of heating rate and biomass type on combustion behaviors relative to the characteristics of particle emissions.In the present study,more than 30%of the smoke particles from the burning of biomass fuel had a mass that fell within a range of<100 nm.Particles smaller than 0.43μm contributed greatly to the total levels of toxic PAHs and WSOC.The properties of these particles were influenced by the fuel component,the combustion conditions,and the particle size.Although TG–DTA results indicated that the heating rate in a range of 10–20°C did not show a significant effect on the combustion properties,there was a slight increase in the decomposition temperature as heating rate was increased.The nano-size particles had the smallest fraction of particle mass and particle-bound PAHs,but nonetheless these particles registered the largest fraction of particle-bound WSOC.Mitsuhiko Hata Jiraporn Chomanee Thunyapat Thongyen Linfa Bao Surajit Tekasakul Perapong Tekasakul Yoshio Otani Masami Furuuchi 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,9:5
