1Effects of gravity on the microstructure of Zr_(41)Ti_(14)-Cu_(12.5)Ni_(10)Be_(22.5) bulk glass forming alloy显示文摘The ZrTiCuNiBe alloy is melt and solidified by Bridgman unidirectional solidification on two gravity field orientations (the gravity field orientation is parallel and opposite to solidification direction). Effects of gravity on morphology and microstructure are investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). 4Monolithic integration of nanorod arrays on microfluidic chips for fast and sensitive one-step immunoassays显示文摘Here,we present integrated nanorod arrays on microfluidic chips for fast and sensitive flow-through immunoassays of physiologically relevant macromolecules.Dense arrays of Au nanorods are easily fabricated through one-step oblique angle deposition,which eliminates the requirement of advanced lithography methods.We report the utility of this plasmonic structure to improve the detection limit of the cardiac troponin I(cTnI)assay by over 6x 105-fold,reaching down to 33.9fg mL^(-1)(-1.4fM) compared with an identical assay on glass substrates.Through monolithic integration with microfluidic elements,the device enables a flow-through assay for quantitative detection of cTnI in the serum with a detection sensitivity of 6.9 pg mL^(-1)(-0.3 pM)in<6 min,which was 4000 times lower than conventional glass devices.This ultrasensitive detection arises from the large surface area for antibody conjugation and metal-enhanced fluorescent signals through plasmonic nanostructures.Moreover,due to the parallel arrangement of flow paths,simultaneous detection of multiple cancer biomarkers,including prostate-specific antigen and carcinoembryonic antigen,has been fulfilled with increased signal-to-background ratios.Given the high performance of this assay,together with its simple fabrication process that is compatible with standard mass manufacturing techniques,we expect that the prepared integrated nanorod device can bring on-site point-of-care diagnosis closer to reality.Ye Wang Jiongdong Zhao Yu Zhu Shurong Dong Yang Liu Yijun Sun Liling Qian Wenting Yang Zhen Cao 2021Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,4:0
5AGO2a but not AGO2b mediates antiviral defense against infection of wild-type cucumber mosaic virus in tomato显示文摘Evolutionarily conserved antiviral RNA interference(RNAi)mediates a primary antiviral innate immunity preventing infection of broad-spectrum viruses in plants.However,the detailed mechanism in plants is still largely unknown,especially in important agricultural crops,including tomato.Varieties of pathogenic viruses evolve to possess viral suppressors of RNA silencing(VSRs)to suppress antiviral RNAi in the host.Due to the prevalence of VSRs,it is still unknown whether antiviral RNAi truly functions to prevent invasion by natural wild-type viruses in plants and animals.In this research,for the first time we applied CRISPR-Cas9 to generate ago2a,ago2b,or ago2ab mutants for two differentiated Solanum lycopersicum AGO2s,key effectors in antiviral RNAi.We found that AGO2a but not AGO2b was significantly induced to inhibit the propagation of not only VSR-deficient Cucumber mosaic virus(CMV)but also wild-type CMV-Fny in tomato;however,neither AGO2a nor AGO2b regulated disease induction after infection with either virus.Our findings firstly reveal a prominent role of AGO2a in antiviral RNAi innate immunity in tomato and demonstrate that antiviral RNAi evolves to defend against infection of natural wild-type CMV-Fny in tomato.However,AGO2a-mediated antiviral RNAi does not play major roles in promoting tolerance of tomato plants to CMV infection for maintaining health.Liling Zhao Yingfang Chen Xingming Xiao Haiying Gao Jiamin Cao Zhongkai Zhang Zhongxin Guo 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,5:0
6ASb(SO_(4))_(2)(A=Rb,Cs):Two short-wave UV antimony sulfates exhibiting large birefringence显示文摘Herein,two antimony sulfates,named RbSb(SO_(4))_(2)(1)and CsSb(SO_(4))_(2)(2),have been successfully synthesized with the introduction of Sb^(3+)cation with stereochemically active lone pairs(SCALP)into sulfates by the conventional hydrothermal method.Both two compounds endow short ultraviolet(UV)absorption edges(281 nm and 278 nm,respectively)and large birefringence(0.171@546 nm and 0.174@546 nm,respectively),which means that they are promising short-wave UV optical materials.Interestingly,though both of the two compounds exhibit similar 1D chained structures,and possess the same functional moieties including SbO4 seesaws and SO4 tetrahedral groups,they exhibit significantly opposite macroscopic symmetries,i.e.,compound 1 crystallizes in a centrosymmetric(CS)manner(P2_(1)/n)and compound 2 in a noncentrosymmetric(NCS)manner(P2_(1)2_(1)2_(1)),due to the size of cations[r(Rb+)=1.56 A˚,r(Cs+)=1.67 A˚]affects the orientation of SCALP of the adjacent Sb^(3+).Yang Lan Jinxuan Ren Pu Zhang Xuehua Dong Ling Huang Liling Cao Daojiang Gao Guohong Zou 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,1:0
