1Optimal management of Korean pine plantations in multifunctional forestry显示文摘Korean pine is one of the most important plantation species in northeast China.Besides timber,it produces edible nuts and plantations sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.This study optimized the management of Korean pine plantations for timber production,seed production,carbon sequestration and for the joint production of multiple benefits.As the first step,models were developed for stand dynamics and seed production.These models were used in a simulation–optimization system to find optimal timing and type of thinning treatments and optimal rotation lengths.It was found that three thinnings during the rotation period were optimal.When the amount or profitability of timber production is maximized,suitable rotation lengths are 65–70 years and wood production is 5.5–6.0 m^3 ha^(-1) a^(-1).The optimal thinning regime is thinning from above.In seed production,optimal rotation lengths are over 100 years.When carbon sequestration in living biomass is maximized,stands should not be clear-cut until trees start to die due to senescence.In the joint production of multiple benefits,the optimal rotation length is 86 years if all benefits(wood,economic profits,seed,carbon sequestration) are equally important.In this management schedule,mean annual wood production is 5.5 m^2 ha^(-1) and mean annual seed yield 141 kg ha^(-1).It was concluded that it is better to produce timber and seeds in the same stands rather than assign stands to either timber production or seed production.Xingji Jin Timo Pukkala Fengri Li Lihu Dong 2017Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,5:8
2Analysis and assessment of land desertification in Xinjiang based on RS and GIS显示文摘The land desertification in Xinjiang was monitored and analyzed based on RS and GIS techniques. Satellite data interpretation was adopted to obtain the general situation of Xinjiang’s land desertification in assistance with the sampling method and on-the-spot investigations. Related monitoring and investigations showed that Xinjiang was facing with severe wide range land desertification, and its desertified area made up 77.08% of the total monitoring area. As for land types, the desertified farmland accounted for 1.92% of the total monitoring area, desertified woodland 4%, desertified grassland 45%, and unused land 49%. Accordingly, as for desertification degrees, non-desertified land occupied 22.92%, weak desertified land 5.69%, medium-degree desertified land 16.58%, severe desertified land 33.19% and super severe desertified land 21.61%. Finally, as for inducing factors, wind-eroded desertification made up 58.23%, water-eroded desertification 8.69%, salinization desertification 6.52% and frozen-melt eroded desertification 3.64%. 3Analysis of the Transition Between Multiple Operational Modes for Hybrid AC/DC Microgrids显示文摘There are four basic operational modes for the hybrid AC/DC microgrid,including AC grid-connected while interconnecting,both off-grid while interconnecting,AC gridconnected without connection,and both off-grid without connection.How to achieve a seamless operational mode transition is an urgent technical need to overcome.First,this paper describes the typical structure of the hybrid microgrid,and places a detailed focus on the power balance and transition strategy.Secondly,it takes the master-slave control structure as an example,and designs the transition logic for different operational modes,and then a method for selecting the slack bus and transition time-sequence is proposed.Based on the different roles that the interlinking converter(IC)plays in the process of modes transition,a voltage-power(U-P)control method for a hybrid AC/DC microgrid is proposed,and the exchanged power is calculated based on the voltage deviation between the rating value and measured value.Finally,a control flowchart for the transition between the four operational modes in transition is designed.Using the PSCAD/EMTDC platform,this paper takes a typical seven-point microgrid structure as an example,the proposed transition strategy is carried out,and the results show that the transition method and time sequence can achieve smooth transition between different operational modes.Lihu Jia Yongqiang Zhu Shaofei Du Yinshun Wang 2018CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2018,4,1:5
4Intra-and inter-species variations in carbon content of 14 major tree species in Northeast China显示文摘Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the major challenges in combating global warming.Carbon,including in the form of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)),is considered an essential greenhouse gas under human control to demonstrate success in emission reductions.However,many carbon stock quantifications in forest ecosystems still rely on the estimated 50%carbon content instead of more precise species-,tissue-and site-specific values.Thus,this study aimed to thoroughly measure and analyze the carbon content and variability using the 14 major tree species in Northeast China.Over 600 trees were destructively sampled from three different major mountainous regions(i.e.,the Changbai,Daxing’an,and Xiaoxing’an mountains),and the carbon contents of each species were precisely measured to the sub-tissue level.Carbon contents varied significantly between species,with foliage carbon mostly found to be the highest,while root carbon contents were the lowest.Average carbon contents can be ranked as:Ulmus laciniata(43.4%)Faris Rafi Almay Widagdo Fengri Li Longfei Xie Lihu Dong 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:2
5The regulation of cell wall lignification and lignin biosynthesis during pigmentation of winter jujube显示文摘Fruit lignification is due to lignin deposition in the cell wall during cell development.However,there are few studies on the regulation of cell wall lignification and lignin biosynthesis during fruit pigmentation.In this study,we investigated the regulation of cell wall lignification and lignin biosynthesis during pigmentation of winter jujube.The cellulose content decreased,while the lignin content increased in the winter jujube pericarp during pigmentation.Safranin O-fast green staining showed that the cellulose content was higher in the cell wall of winter jujube prior to pigmentation,whereas the lignin in the cell wall increased after pigmentation.The thickness of the epidermal cells decreased with pericarp pigmentation.A combined metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis showed that guaiacyl-syringyl(G-S)lignin was the main lignin type in the pericarp of winter jujube,and F5H(LOC107424406)and CCR(LOC107420974)were preliminarily identified as the key genes modulating lignin biosynthesis in winter jujube.Seventeen MYB and six NAC transcription factors(TFs)with potential regulation of lignin biosynthesis were screened out based on phylogenetic analysis.Three MYB and two NAC TFs were selected as candidate genes and further studied in detail.Arabidopsis ectopic expression and winter jujube pericarp injection of the candidate genes indicated that the MYB activator(LOC107425254)and the MYB repressor(LOC107415078)control lignin biosynthesis by regulating CCR and F5H,while the NAC(LOC107435239)TF promotes F5H expression and positively regulates lignin biosynthesis.These findings revealed the lignin biosynthetic pathway and associated genes during pigmentation of winter jujube pericarp and provide a basis for further research on lignin regulation.Qiong Zhang Lihu Wang Zhongtang Wang Rentang Zhang Ping Liu Mengjun Liu Zhiguo Liu Zhihui Zhao Lili Wang Xin Chen Haifeng Xu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2
