1Transport properties of p-type CaMg_(2)Bi_(2) thermoelectrics显示文摘Due to the complex crystal structure for low lattice thermal conductivity and the tunable valence bands for superior electronic performance,CaAl_(2)Si_(2)-structured AB_(2)C_(2) Zintl compounds have been frequently proven as promising p-type thermoelectric materials.In this work,thermoelectric properties of CaMg_(2)Bi_(2) are systematically investigated in a broad carrier concentration(10^(18)-10^(20) cm^(-3))through Agdoping for comprehensively evaluating its potential for thermoelectric applications.The broad carrier concentration enables a well assessment of the carrier transport properties by single parabolic band with acoustic phonon scattering and a revelation of the carrier transport by multiple valence orbitals when the carrier concentration higher than ~2×10^(19) cm^(-3),leading to a significant enhancement in electronic performance.With the help of additional point defect phonon scattering introduced by BaMg_(2)Bi_(2)-alloying,a reduction in lattice thermal conductivity in the entire temperature range and the lowest one of ~0.7 W/m-K are achieved,leading to a 100% enhancement in average zTave.in addition to the contribution of a multiband transport.This work not only demonstrates CaMg_(2)Bi_(2) as a promising thermoelectric material,but also provides a well understanding of its underlying material physics.Cheng Sun Xuemin Shi Liangtao Zheng Bo Chen Wen Li 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4:4
2Dynamic simulations of the late MIS 3 transgressions in the East China Sea and southern Yellow Sea,China显示文摘Abundant evidences of higher sea levels from Jiangsu and Fujian coasts have proved a marine transgression event during 30–40 ka BP, suggesting that there was a stage with high sea level and a warm climate when ice sheets shrank in the Northern Hemisphere. The duration of 30–40 ka BP spanned a period in the late Marine Isotope Stage 3(MIS 3) and was in nature an interstadial epoch during the Last Glacial period of the Quaternary. Different from the glacial period with a cold climate, this marine transgression considered as a penultimate higher sea level during the Quaternary remains a puzzle that why the evidence is contrary to the Quaternary glacial theory. It is important to understand sea level rise for these areas sensitively responding to the global changes in the future. To recognize the key issues on sea level changes, the eustatic sea level(H_S) was defined as the glaciation-climateforced sea levels, and the relative sea level change(H_R) was defined as that a sea level record was preserved in sediment that experienced multiple secondary actions of land and sea effects. On the basis as defined above, we constructed multi-level models of climate-driven glacio-eustatic changes and land-sea systems. By integrating data sets from eight borehole cores and prescribing the boundary conditions, we simulated the changes of HS and HR in the East China Sea and southern Yellow Sea areas in the late MIS 3. The marine transgression strata from the borehole core data was identified at ca. 30 m below present sea level as a result of the collective influence of ice melting water, neotectonic subsidence, sediment compaction and terrestrial sediment filling since ca. 35 ka ago,whereas the simulated relative sea-levels turned out to be –26.3––29.9 m a.s.l. The small error involved in the simulation results of ±(2.5–4.5) m demonstrated the credibility of the results. Our results indicated that sea level change in the late MIS 3 was dominated by glacial effects, in which the eustatic sea-level was between –19.2––22.1m a.s.l. 5Advanced Glycation Endproducts in 35 Types of Seafood Products Consumed in Eastern China显示文摘Advanced glycation endproducts(AGEs) have been recognized as hazards in processed foods that can induce chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and diabetic nephropathy. In this study, we investigated the AGEs contents of 35 types of industrial seafood products that are consumed frequently in eastern China. Total fluorescent AGEs level and Nε-carboxymethyl-lysine(CML) content were evaluated by fluorescence spectrophotometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS), respectively. The level of total fluorescent AGEs in seafood samples ranged from 39.37 to 1178.3 AU, and was higher in canned and packaged instant aquatic products that were processed at high temperatures. The CML content in seafood samples ranged from 44.8 to 439.1 mg per kg dried sample, and was higher in roasted seafood samples. The total fluorescent AGEs and CML content increased when seafood underwent high-temperature processing, but did not show an obvious correlation. 7Eco-vegetation Construction of the Community Gardens in US and Its Implications显示文摘Community garden is a popular vegetation landscape mode with production,ecology and life functions. On the basis of eco-service functions of community garden,this paper selected 14 such gardens in Los Angeles and studies them by field survey. It researched the response of diversity of urban vegetation varieties and distribution pattern to planters' ethnic background and construction mode,then it analyzed its implications for China's urban green space construction and leisure agriculture. A total of 439 varieties of plant were studied,indicating that community garden is an important species pool of urban ecosystem; it can maintain rich native taxa resources; plant function is mainly edible plant, which plays a great role in protecting ethnic traditional culture and regional native culture; landscape structure and function of vegetation are influenced by ethnic background and construction mode. Researches show that the community garden,as the intersection landscape of ecological diversity and cultural diversity,is a feasible construction mode for realizing urban green infrastructure construction and leisure agricultural development. China should learn from this experience,take into consideration interested parties when making green space planning and conducting eco-vegetation construction. 8Electrospun Bi-decorated Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)/TiO_(2) flexible carbon nanofibers and their applications on degradating of organic pollutants under solar radiation显示文摘Presently,photocatalytic degradation has emerged as an attractive and efficient technology for wastewater treatment.In order to avoid hurdles,such as difficulty in the suspended photocatalyst segregation from the aqueous system and low reutilization rate,the strategy of immobilizing photocatalysts with electro-spun fibers has been widely studied.However,those methods usually require multi-step preparation and complex operations.Considering this,a novel metallic Bi-decorated flexible multiphase Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)/TiO_(2) electrospun carbon nanofibers(Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs)with high photocatalytic efficiency,good mechanical property,good stability,easy separation,and recovery were synthesized via a one-step approach of pre-oxidation and carbonization treatment.The as-prepared Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs with multiphase Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z),anatase TiO_(2),and metallic Bi particles embedded not only enhance the harvest of light but also pro-vide more separation paths for photogenerated carriers,which improve photocatalytic efficiency greatly.The Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs(S3)exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance and the degradation rate of 10 mg L^(-1) Rhodamine B(RhB)was up to 97%in only 30 min under simulated sunlight irradiation.Also,S3 exhibited stable activity during 5 cycles of experiments since the degradation rates remained at about 97%in 30 min.The mechanism of degradation of RhB by Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs in the photocat-alytic process was also proposed based on active species trapping experiments.The work in this paper shows that Bi/Bi_(x)Ti_(y)O_(z)-TiO_(2)/CNFs are easy to prepare and have high photocatalytic ability and stability,thereby offering a new strategy in catalyst immobilization and wastewater treatment.Liangtao Yao Changpo Sun Hui Lin Guisheng Li Zichao Lian Ruixin Song Songlin Zhuang Dawei Zhang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,19:0
