| 1 | Effects of spider Macrothele raven venom on cell proliferation and cytotoxicity in HeLa cells显示文摘Aim: To examine the effect of venom from the spider Macrothele raven on cell proliferation and cytotoxicity in human cervical carcinoma, HeLa cells. Methods: Morphological and biochemical signs of apoptosis appeared using acridine orange-ethidium bromide (AO/EB) staining. Marked morphological changes in HeLa cells after treatment with spider venom were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Cell proliferation and cytotoxicity were determined by [methyl-^3H] thymidine assay ([^3H]TdR) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release, respectively. DNA fragmentation and cell cycle distribution were monitored using flow cytometry. In addition, Western blot analysis was used to evaluate the level of caspase-3 expression. In vivo examination of the inhibition of the size of tumors in nude mice treated with spider venom was measured. Results: Marked morphological changes were observed using AO/EB staining, SEM and TEM assay. Spider venom at concentrations of 10-40 mg/L caused dose- and time-dependent inhibition of HeLa cell proliferation. The ratio of apoptosis and necrosis increased. The activity of caspase-3 was upregulated after spider venom treatment. In vivo study of tumor size revealed that tumors significantly decreased in size from controls to tumors treated for 3 weeks with spider venom (P<0.05). Conclusion: The inhibition of HeLa cells by the venom of the spider Macrothele raveni was carried out in three ways: induction of apoptosis, necrosis of toxicity damage and direct lysis. | 2 | Microvessel density of malignant and benign hepatic lesions and MRI evaluation显示文摘AIM. To study the difference of microvessel density (MVD) between malignant and benign hepatic lesions and study the relationship between MVD and dynamic enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for evaluation of microvessels within malignant and benign hepatic lesions. METHODS: A total of 265 specimens of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), 122 cirrhosis tissues and 22 hepatic benign lesions were enrolled for MVD by immunohistochemistry on tissue microarray, of which 49 underwent MRI examination before surgery, then contrast-to-noise ratios (CNR) and enhancement index (EI) in all the phases were calculated. Pearson correlation was performed for correlation analysis between CNR, EI and MVD. RESULTS: MVD of HCC was 22.7±15.8 (mean±SD), which was obviously higher than that of cirrhosis tissue (8.3±7.6, P<0.01), but was not statistically different from that of benign lesions (31.3±22.7, P>0.05). Among HCC, MVD of gradesⅠ-Ⅱ was 29.9±18.6, which was much higher than those ofgrade Ⅲ (22.2±18.2, P<0.01) and gradeⅣ (22.9±19.0, P<0.01). MVD of HCC (P=0.018) and of benign lesions (P=0.014) were both correlative with CNR in arterial phase. CONCLUSION: Neoangiogenesis is an important feature for malignant tumor, and MVD may act as a biological marker in differentiating malignant from benign hepatic lesions. | 3 | Ultrasensitive and stable X-ray detection using zero-dimensional lead-free perovskites显示文摘Sensitive and reliable X-ray detectors are essential for medical radiography,industrial inspection and security screening.Lowering the radiation dose allows reduced health risks and increased frequency and fidelity of diagnostic technologies for earlier detection of disease and its recurrence.Three-dimensional(3 D)organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskites are promising for direct X-ray detection-they show improved sensitivity compared to conventional X-ray detectors.However,their high and unstable dark current,caused by ion migration and high dark carrier concentration in the 3 D hybrid perovskites,limits their performance and long-term operation stability.Here we report ultrasensitive,stable X-ray detectors made using zero-dimensional(0 D)methylammonium bismuth iodide perovskite(MA3Bi2I9)single crystals.The 0 D crystal structure leads to a high activation energy(Ea)for ion migration(0.46 e V)and is also accompanied by a low dark carrier concentration(~10^6 cm^-3).The X-ray detectors exhibit sensitivity of 10,620μC Gy-1 air cm-2,a limit of detection(Lo D)of 0.62 nG yairs-1,and stable operation even under high applied biases;no deterioration in detection performance was observed following sensing of an integrated X-ray irradiation dose of^23,800 m Gyair,equivalent to>200,000 times the dose required for a single commercial X-ray chest radiograph.Regulating the ion migration channels and decreasing the dark carrier concentration in perovskites provide routes for stable and ultrasensitive X-ray detectors. | Xiaojia Zheng Wei Zhao Peng Wang Hairen Tan Makhsud I.Saidaminov Shujie Tie Ligao Chen Yufei Peng Jidong Long Wen-HuZhang | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10: | 7 |

| 9 | Development of combined transitional pavement structure for urban tram track-road grade crossings显示文摘The grade crossings and adjacent pavements of urban trams are generally subjected to complex load conditions and are susceptible to damage.Therefore,in this study,a novel pavement structure between tram tracks and roads constructed using polyurethane(PU)elastic concrete and ultra-high-performance concrete(UHPC),referred to as a track-road transitional pavement(TRTP),is proposed.Subsequently,its performance and feasibility are evaluated using experimental and numerical methods.First,the mechanical properties of the PU elastic concrete are evaluated.The performance of the proposed structure is investigated using a three-dimensional finite element model,where vehicleinduced dynamic and static loads are considered.The results show that PU elastic concrete and the proposed combined TRTP are applicable and functioned as intended.Additionally,the PU elastic concrete achieved sufficient performance.The recommended width of the TRTP is approximately 50 mm.Meanwhile,the application of UHPC under a PU elastic concrete layer significantly reduces vertical deformation.Results of numerical calculations confirmed the high structural performance and feasibility of the proposed TRTP.Finally,material performance standards are recommended to provide guidance for pavement design and the construction of tram-grade crossings in the future. | Boshun GAO Xin XIAO Jiayu WANG Ligao JIANG Qing YAO | 2023 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2023,17,8: | 0 |
