3A carbon-oxygen-bridged ladder-type building block for efficient donor and acceptor materials used in organic solar cells显示文摘A carbon-oxygen-bridged ladder-type donor unit(CO5) was invented and prepared via an ‘‘intramolecular demethanolization cyclization' approach. Its single crystal structure indicates enhanced planarity compared with the carbon-bridged analogue indacenodithiophene(IDT). Owing to the stronger electron-donating capability of CO5 than IDT, CO5-based donor and acceptor materials show narrower bandgaps. A donor-acceptor(D-A) copolymer donor(PCO5TPD) and an A-D-A nonfullerene acceptor(CO5IC) demonstrated higher performance than IDT-based counterparts, PIDTTPD and IDTIC, respectively. 5Rho kinase:A new target for treatment of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Rho kinase inhibitor fasudil hydrochloride has been shown to reduce cerebral vasospasm, to inhibit inflammation and apoptosis and to promote the recovery of neurological function. However, the effect of fasudil hydrochloride on claudin-5 protein expression has not been reported after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. Therefore, this study sought to explore the effects of fasudil hydrochloride on blood-brain barrier permeability, growth-associated protein-43 and claudin-5 protein expression, and to further understand the neuroprotective effect of fasudil hydrochloride. A focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model was established using the intraluminal suture technique. Fasudil hydrochloride (15 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected once a day. Neurological deficit was evaluated using Longa's method. Changes in permeability of blood-brain barrier were measured using Evans blue. Changes in RhoA, growth-associated protein-43 and claudin-5 protein expression were detected using immunohistochemistry and western blotting. Results revealed that fasudil hydrochloride noticeably contributed to the recovery of neurological function, improved the function of blood-brain barrier, inhibited RhoA protein expression, and upregulated growth-associated protein-43 and claudin-5 protein expression following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. Results indicated that Rho kinase exhibits a certain effect on neurovascular damage following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. 6Blunted nitric oxide regulation in Tibetans under high-altitude hypoxia显示文摘Nitric oxide(NO) is an important molecule for vasomotor tone, and elevated NO signaling was previously hypothesized as a unique and adaptive physiological change in highland Tibetans. However, there has been lack of NO data from Tibetans living at low altitude and lowlander immigrants living at high altitude, which is crucial to test this hypothesis. Here, through cross-altitude(1990–5018 m) and cross-population(Tibetans and Han Chinese) analyses of serum NO metabolites(NOx) of 2086 individuals, we demonstrate that although Tibetans have a higher serum NOx level compared to lowlanders, Han Chinese immigrants living at high altitude show an even higher level than Tibetans. Consequently, our data contradict the previous proposal of increased NO signaling as the unique adaptive strategy in Tibetans.Instead, Tibetans have a relatively lower circulating NOx level at high altitude. This observation is further supported by data from the hypoxic experiments using human umbilical vein endothelial cells and gene knockout mice. No difference is detected between Tibetans and Han Chinese for endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS), the key enzyme for circulating NO synthesis, suggesting that e NOS itself is unlikely to be the cause. We show that other NO synthesis-related genes(e.g. GCH1) carry Tibetan-enriched mutations significantly associated with the level of circulating NOx in Tibetans. 7A Model of Dynamic Recrystallization in Alloys during High Strain Plastic Deformation显示文摘Recrystallized grains, less than 200 nm in diameter were observed in heavily shear zones of a high strength low alloy steel and a Ni-based alloy, and Also grain refinement, less than 3 μm in diameter was made in high purity aluminum by ECAE at ambient temperature. The experimental results showed that high strain rate and large deformation could induce dynamic recrystallization.Based on dislocation dynamics and grain orientation change enhanced by plastic deformation,a model for the recrystallization process is developed. 8Validity and reliability of Chinese version of Fatigue Impact Scale in cerebral infarction patients显示文摘BACKGROUND: Post-stroke fatigue has received much attention recently. Three evaluation scales are available,including the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS). Yet none of these has been proven to be of use in the evaluation of psychological quality after post-stroke fatigue. OBJECTIVE: To introduce FIS into China,and to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Chinese Version in patients with cerebral infarction. DESIGN: Scale evaluation. SETTING: Department of Rehabilitation,Beijing Friendship Hospital,Capital Medical University. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 330 patients with cerebral infarction were selected from the Department of Neurology,Beijing Friendship Hospital,Capital Medical University from June 2005 to December 2006. All patients met diagnostic standards from the Fourth National Cerebrovascular Disease Academic Meeting of China Medical Association and were diagnosed with CT or MRI examination. Patients who were not willing to accept scale evaluation were excluded. METHODS: The English version of FIS was translated into Chinese and subsequently translated back to English again. FIS was given to the discharged patients,and they returned them upon completion. In-patients completed and immediately returned the FIS. Validity and reliability of the retrieved scales were ascertained with descriptive and inference analysis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Total scores and subscale scores of FIS. RESULTS: Out of 330 questionnaires,214 valid questionnaires were deemed valid in total. Six components were extracted in factor analysis,and the total cumulative contribution was 73.919%,which suggested the questionnaire was valid. After correlation analysis,6 components were divided into 3 subscales,including cognitive,physical,and social,which was the same as the English version. The Cronbach α value for the three subscales was 0.937 7,0.918 8,and 0.940 6,respectively (> 0.7). 9A high-performance narrowband high temperature superconducting filter显示文摘Recent development of a high-performance narrowband high-temperature superconducting (HTS) filter is presented. A 10-pole quasi-elliptic function response filter with two pairs of transmission zeros (for high selectivity), which has a center frequency of 2.185 GHz and a 3 dB bandwidth of 10 MHz (a fractional bandwidth of 0.45%), is introduced. The filter was fabricated on a 40 mm×16 mm×0.5 mm MgO wafer with double-sided YBCO films. The measured results show that the filter has 0.15 dB insertion loss at the center of the passband and a return loss better than -22.5 dB at a temperature of 67 K.Band edge steepness reaches over 28.3 dB/MHz at both the low and high frequency edges. 10Marine Carbon-Sulfur Biogeochemical Cycles during the Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE) in the Jiangnan Basin, South China显示文摘Global occurrences of Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE) during Late Cambrian recorded a significant perturbation in marine carbon cycle, and might have had profound impacts on the biological evolution. In previous studies, SPICE has been reported from the Jiangnan slope belt in South China. To evaluate the bathymetric extent of SPICE, we investigate the limestone samples from the upper Qingxi Formation in the Shaijiang Section in the Jiangnan Basin. Our results show the positive excursions for both carbonate carbon(δ^(13)C) and organic carbon(δ^(13)C_(org)) isotopes, as well as the concurrent positive shifts in sulfur isotopes of carbonate associated sulfate(CAS, δ^(34)S_(CAS)) and pyrite(δ^(34)S_(pyrite)), unequivocally indicating the presence of SPICE in the Jiangnan Basin. A 4‰ increase in δ^(13)C_(carb) of the Qingxi limestone implies the increase of the relative flux of organic carbon burial by a factor of two. Concurrent positive excursions in δ^(34)S_(CAS) and δ^(34)S_(pyrite) have been attributed to the enhanced pyrite burial in oceans with extremely low concentration and spatially heterogeneous isotopic composition of seawater sulfate. Here, we propose that the seawater sulfur isotopic heterogeneity can be generated by volatile organic sulfur compound(VOSC, such as methanethiol and dimethyl sulfide) formation in sulfidic continental margins that were widespread during SPICE. Emission of 32S-enriched VOSC in atmosphere, followed by lateral transportation and aerobic oxidation in atmosphere, and precipitation in open oceans result in a net flux of ^(32)S from continental margins to open oceans, elevating δ^(34)S of seawater sulfate in continental margins. 11De novo assembly of a Tibetan genome and identification of novel structural variants associated with high-altitude adaptation显示文摘Structural variants(SVs) may play important roles in human adaptation to extreme environments such as high altitude but have been under-investigated. Here, combining long-read sequencing with multiple scaffolding techniques, we assembled a high-quality Tibetan genome(ZF1), with a contig N50 length of 24.57 mega-base pairs(Mb) and a scaffold N50 length of 58.80 Mb. The ZF1 assembly filled 80 remaining N-gaps(0.25 Mb in total length) in the reference human genome(GRCh38). Markedly, we detected17 900 SVs, among which the ZF1-specific SVs are enriched in GTPase activity that is required for activation of the hypoxic pathway. Further population analysis uncovered a 163-bp intronic deletion in the MKL1 gene showing large divergence between highland Tibetans and lowland Han Chinese. This deletion is significantly associated with lower systolic pulmonary arterial pressure, one of the key adaptive physiological traits in Tibetans. Moreover, with the use of the high-quality de novo assembly, we observed a much higher rate of genome-wide archaic hominid(Altai Neanderthal and Denisovan) shared non-reference sequences in ZF1(1.32%–1.53%) compared to other East Asian genomes(0.70%–0.98%),reflecting a unique genomic composition of Tibetans. One such archaic hominid shared sequence-a662-bp intronic insertion in the SCUBE2 gene-is enriched and associated with better lung function(the FEV1/FVC ratio) in Tibetans. 12Carbon isotope fractionation during shale gas transport: Mechanism, characterization and significance显示文摘The gas in-place(GIP)content and the ratio of adsorbed/free gas are two key parameters for the assessment of shale gas resources and have thus received extensive attention.A variety of methods have been proposed to solve these issues,however none have gained widespread acceptance.Carbon isotope fractionation during the methane transport process provides abundant information,serving as an effective method for differentiating the gas transport processes of adsorbed gas and free gas and ultimately evaluating the two key parameters.In this study,four stages of methane carbon isotope fractionation were documented during a laboratory experiment that simulated gas transport through shale.The four stages reflect different transport processes:the free gas seepage stage(Ⅰ),transition stage(Ⅱ),adsorbed gas desorption stage(Ⅲ)and concentration diffusion stage(Ⅳ).Combined with the results of decoupling experiments,the isotope fractionation characteristics donated by the single effect(seepage,adsorption-desorption and diffusion)were clearly revealed.We further propose a technique integrating the Amoco curve fit(ACF)method and carbon isotope fractionation(CIF)to determine the dynamic change in adsorbed and free gas ratios during gas production.We find that the gases produced in stage Ⅰ are primarily composed of free gas and that carbon isotope ratios of methane(δ13C1)are stable and equal to the ratios of source gas(13C 10).In stage Ⅱ,the contribution of free gas decreases,while the proportion of adsorbed gas increases,and the δ13C1 gradually becomes lighter.With the depletion of free gas,the adsorbed gas contribution in stage Ⅲ reaches 100%,and the δ13C1 becomes heavier.Finally,in stage Ⅳ,the desorbed gas remaining in the pore spaces diffuses out under the concentration difference,and the δ13C1 becomes lighter again and finally stabilizes.In addition,a kinetic model for the quantitative description of isotope fractionation during desorption and diffusion was established.Wenbiao LI Shuangfang LU Junqian LI Pengfei ZHANG Siyuan WANG Wenjun FENG Yongbo WEI 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,5:4
13Exposing Cu-rich {110} active facets in PtCu nanostars for boosting electrochemical performance toward multiple liquid fuels electrooxidation显示文摘In catalysis,tuning the structural composition of the metal alloy is known as an efficient way to optimize the catalytic activity.This work presents the synthesis of compositional segregated six-armed PtCu nanostars via a facile solvothermal method and their distinct composition-structure-dependent performances in electrooxidation processes.The alloy is shown to have a unique six arms with a Cu-rich dodecahedral core,mainly composed of {110} facets and exhibit superior catalytic activity toward alcohols electrooxidation compared to the hollow counterpart where Cu was selectively etched.Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that the formation of hydroxyl intermediate (OH^*) is crucial to detoxify CO poisoning during the electrooxidation processes.The addition of Cu is found to effectively adjust the d band location of the alloy catalyst and thus enhance the formation of ^*OH intermediate from water splitting,which decreases the coverage of ^*CO intermediate.Our work demonstrates that the unique compositional anisotropy in alloy catalyst may boost their applications in electrocatalysis and provides a methodology for the design of this type catalyst.Liping Huang Wei Zhang Peng Li Yongbo Song Hongting Sheng Yuanxin Du Yang-Gang Wang Yuen Wu Xun Hong Yanhuai Ding Xiaoyou Yuan Manzhou Zhu 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:4
14Image segmentation algorithm for greenhouse cucumber canopy under various natural lighting conditions显示文摘In this study,machine vision technology was used to capture images of greenhouse cucumber canopy,and image segmentation was implemented under various natural lighting conditions.The images were enhanced by multi-scale retinex with color restore(MSRCR),and the MSRCR images were segmented by four algorithms:normalized difference index(NDI),excess green(ExG),modified excess green(MExG),and modified excess green minus excess red(MExG-ExR).The results indicated that compared with the original images,under various lighting conditions,the average evaluation indexes of brightness,information entropy,average gradient and mean gray value of the MSRCR images were increased by 38.71%,8.04%,4.54%,and 37.81%,respectively,and only the contrast degree decreased by 12.13%.The MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm was used to segment the MSRCR images(fifty images under various lighting conditions in the test and it performed best among the four segmentation algorithms,average overlap ratios and recognition rates of were 99.28%and 98.91%,respectively,while 38.39%and 37.95%respectively for original image.These results indicated that the MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm applied to a MSRCR canopy image produced the most stable results among the four algorithms.By using the MSRCR image enhancement algorithm,the interference of lighting on greenhouse cucumber canopy images was reduced and the foundation for achieving accurate segmentation of a canopy region was laid,which is of great significance for greenhouse cucumber phenotypic parameter measurements.Sun Guoxiang Li Yongbo Wang Xiaochan Hu Guyue Wang Xuan Zhang Yu 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3:4
15Review of local mean decomposition and its application in fault diagnosis of rotating machinery显示文摘Rotating machinery is widely used in the industry.They are vulnerable to many kinds of damages especially for those working under tough and time-varying operation conditions.Early detection of these damages is important,otherwise,they may lead to large economic loss even a catastrophe.Many signal processing methods have been developed for fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery.Local mean decomposition(LMD)is an adaptive mode decomposition method that can decompose a complicated signal into a series of mono-components,namely product functions(PFs).In recent years,many researchers have adopted LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.We give a comprehensive review of LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.First,the LMD is described.The advantages,disadvantages and some improved LMD methods are presented.Then,a comprehensive review on applications of LMD in fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery is given.The review is divided into four parts:fault diagnosis of gears,fault diagnosis of rotors,fault diagnosis of bearings,and other LMD applications.In each of these four parts,a review is given to applications applying the LMD,improved LMD,and LMD-based combination methods,respectively.We give a summary of this review and some future potential topics at the end.LI Yongbo SI Shubin LIU Zhiliang LIANG Xihui 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,4:4
16Synergistic optimization of thermoelectric performance in p-type Ag2Te through Cu substitution显示文摘Superionic conductors,which exhibit liquid-like phonon transport but crystal-like carrier transport,have attracted great attention and broad research interest in the thermoelectric community.Ag_(2)Te is a superionic conductor;however,its small band gap and large Ag vacancy formation energy impede its application as a prominent p-type thermoelectric material.In this work,synergistic optimization of the thermoelectric performance of Ag_(2)Te through Cu substitution is realized through a combination of experimental and theoretical efforts.For the electrical transport,Cu substitution systematically increases the band gap of Ag_(2)Te and reduces the cation vacancy formation energy.These two beneficial effects simultaneously increase the electrical conductivity and suppress the bipolar effect,thereby greatly enhancing the p-type electrical transport properties of Ag_(2)Te.For the thermal transport,alloying Cu_(2)Te with Ag_(2)Te significantly reduces the thermal conductivity through not only point defect scattering but also softening of the interatomic interactions.The latter is attributed to the relatively small Cu atoms vibrating in the oversized 8c sites.This two-fold optimization results in maximum thermoelectric figure of merit zT values of over 1.3 at 773 K for both Ag_(1.2)Cu_(0.8)Te and AgCuTe,demonstrating the great potential of Ag_(2-x)Cu_(x)Te as a promising p-type thermoelectric material system.Ruonan Wu Zhili Li Yongbo Li Li You Pengfei Luo Jiong Yang Jun Luo 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,3:4
17Prussian blue nanoparticle-loaded microbubbles for photothermally enhanced gene delivery through ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction显示文摘By adsorbing chitosan(CS)-functionalized Prussian blue(PB) nanoparticles(CS/PB NPs) complexing DNA onto the surface of gas encapsulated microbubbles(MBs), a multifunctional gene delivery system of MBs@CS/PB/DNA was fabricated for photothermally enhanced gene transfection through ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction. CS/PB NPs of(2.69 ± 0.49) nm could complex DNA effectively when the mass ratio was2:1. It was found that MBs@CS/PB/DNA could enhance ultrasound imaging greatly both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, MBs@CS/PB/DNA could be disrupted by applying a higher-intensity ultrasound irradiation to release CS/PB/DNA, which could effectively transform the nearinfrared(NIR) light into heat to assist the uptake of CS/PB/DNA by cells. With the aid of ultrasound irradiation and NIR light irradiation, the gene transfection efficiency was significantly enhanced to(43.08 ± 1.13) %, much higher than polyethylenimine. 19Effect of fluoride on the corrosion behavior of nanostructured Ti-24Nb-4Zr-8Sn alloy in acidulated artificial saliva显示文摘The surface of titanium dental implants is highly susceptible to aggressive fluoride ions in the oral environment. Nanotechnology has proven an effective approach to improve the stability and corrosion resistance of titanium by applying a passive film. In this study, we investigated the effects of fluoride on the corrosion behavior of nanostructured(NS) Ti-24 Nb-4 Zr-8 Sn(Ti2448) alloy in acidulated artificial saliva(AAS)at 37 ℃, and then conducted comparisons with its coarse grained(CG) counterpart. Electrochemical techniques, such as potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), as well as surface analysis including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) with argon ion sputtering, and scanning electronic microscopy(SEM) were employed to evaluate the effects of fluoride on sensitivity to pitting and the tolerance of Ti2448 to fluoride in AAS solution. The results demonstrate that corrosion current density increased with F-concentration. In all respects, the NS Ti2448 alloy presented corrosion resistance superior to that of its coarse grained(CG) counterpart at low F-concentrations(<0.1%).Furthermore, a high content of F-(1%) was shown to promote the active dissolution of both alloys by increasing the rate of corrosion. Following immersion in the fluoridated AAS solution for 60 days, a tissuefriendly compound, Ca_3(PO_4)_2, was detected on the surface of the NS when F-= 0.01% and Na_2 TiF_6 was identified as the main component in the corrosion products of the CG as well as NS Ti2448 alloys when F-= 1%. High concentrations of F-produced pitting corrosion on the CG alloy, whereas NS Ti2448 alloy presented general corrosion in the form of lamellar separation under the same conditions. 20Early Cretaceous Climate Changes Recorded in Magnetic Susceptibility and Color Index Variations of the Lower Liupanshan Group, Central China显示文摘This study carried out comprehensive analysis on sedimentology, magnetic susceptibility(χlf) and color data of the continental sediments of the Liupanshan Group in Central China so as to obtain climatic change information during the 129.14–122.98 Ma interval. Based on the results of the ?lf and of the redness(a*), the section can be divided into two segments:(1) 129.14–126.3 Ma, with the lowest ?lf values and strongly variable relatively high values of redness and(2) 126.3–122.98 Ma, with high ?lf values and relatively low redness. Analysis of the lithology and facies as well as the magnetic minerals and their contents points to a detrital origin of the magnetic minerals and this allow us to interpret the relationship between magnetic susceptibility variations and climate changes.
