| 3 | Effects of partial portal vein arterialization on the hilar bile duct in a rat model显示文摘BACKGROUND: Liver revascularization is frequently required during the enlarged radical operation for hilar cholangio carcinoma involving the hepatic artery. Researchers have carried out a number of experiments applying partial porta vein arterialization (PVA) in clinical practice. In this study we aimed to establish a theoretical basis for clinical application o partial PVA and to investigate the effects of partial PVA on ra hilar bile duct and hepatic functions. METHODS: Thirty rats were randomly and equally assigned into 3 groups: control (group A), hepatic artery ligation+bile duct recanalization (group B), and partial PVA+bile duc recanalization (group C). Proliferation and apoptosis o rat hilar bile duct epithelial cells, arteriolar counts of the peribiliary plexus (PBP) of the bile duct wall, changes in serum biochemistry, and pathologic changes in the bile duc were assessed 1 month after operation. RESULTS: The proliferation of hilar bile duct epithelial cells in group B was greater than in groups A and C (P<0.01). No apoptotic hilar bile duct epithelial cells were detected in any of the groups. The PBP arteriolar counts of the hilar bile duc wall were similar in groups A and C (P>0.05), but the coun was lower in group B than in group A (P<0.01). No statistically significant differences in alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and albumin were found in the 3 groups. The gamma-glutamyltransferase value was higher in group B than in groups A and C (P<0.01) The hepatic tissues of groups A and C showed no significan abnormality. Chronic inflammatory changes in the hilar bile duct walls were observed only in group B. | 5 | Establishment of an orthotopic transplantation tumor model of hepatocellular carcinoma in mice显示文摘AIM:To improve the outcome of orthotopic transplantation in a mouse model,we used an absorbable gelatin sponge(AGS) in nude mice to establish an orthotopic implantation tumor model.METHODS:MHCC-97L hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cells stably expressing the luciferase gene were injected into the subcutaneous region of nude mice.One week later,the ectopic tumors were harvested and transplanted into the left liver lobe of nude mice.The AGS was used to establish the nude mouse orthotopic implantation tumor model.The tumor suppressor gene,paired box gene 5(PAX5),which is a tumor suppressor in HCC,was transfected into HCC cells to validate the model.Tumor growth was measured by bioluminescence imaging technology.Semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and histopathology were used to confirm the tumorigenicity of the implanted tumor from the MHCC-97L cell line.RESULTS:We successfully developed an orthotopic transplantation tumor model in nude mice with the use of an AGS.The success rate of tumor transplantation was improved from 60% in the control group to 100% in the experimental group using AGS.The detection of fluorescent signals showed that tumors grew in all live nude mice.The mice were divided into 3 groups:AGS-,AGS+/PAX5-and AGS+/PAX5 +.Tumor size was significantly smaller in PAX5 transfected nude mice compared to control mice(P < 0.0001).These fluorescent signal results were consistent with observations made during surgery.Pathologic examination further confirmed that the tissues from the ectopic tumor were HCC.Results from RT-PCR proved that the HCC originated from MHCC-97L cells.CONCLUSION:Using an AGS is a convenient and efficient way of establishing an indirect orthotopic liver transplantation tumor model with a high success rate. | Gui-Jun Zhao Li-Xia Xu Eagle SH Chu Ning Zhang Jia-Yun Shen Alatangaole Damirin Xiao-Xing Li | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，47： | 4 |

| 7 | Synthesis and Characterization of Nanocrystalline Ni-Ti and Ni-Cr Powders by Mechanical Alloying显示文摘Nanocrystalline powders in the Ni-Ti and Ni-Cr systems were prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) of elemental crystalline powders in an inert atmosphere. The microstructure of the mechanically alloyed powders were characterized by XRD and TEM. The ball-milling process results in a drastic decrease of the crystallite size to the nanometer scale. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that in the Ni-Cr system, no diffraction peaks from NiCr compound were observed even after 20 h of ball milling; while the lattice parameter of Ni increased with the milling time. In the Ni-Ti system, amorphous alloy was formed.
