1Clinical and biochemical indexes from 2019-nCoV infected patients linked to viral loads and lung injury显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019-nCoV infection began in December 2019 in Wuhan,Hubei province,and rapidly spread to many provinces in China as well as other countries.Here we report the epidemiological,clinical,laboratory,and radiological characteristics,as well as potential biomarkers for predicting disease severity in 2019-nCoV-infected patients in Shenzhen,China.All 12 cases of the 2019-nCoV-infected patients developed pneumonia and half of them developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).The most common laboratory abnormalities were hypoalbuminemia,lymphopenia,decreased percentage of lymphocytes (LYM) and neutrophils (NEU),elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),and decreased CD8 count.The viral load of 2019-nCoV detected from patient respiratory tracts was positively linked to lung disease severity.ALB,LYM,LYM (%),LDH,NEU (%),and CRP were highly correlated to the acute lung injury.Age,viral load,lung injury score,and blood biochemistry indexes,albumin (ALB),CRP,LDH,LYM (%),LYM,and NEU (%),may be predictors of disease severity.Moreover,the Angiotensin Ⅱlevel in the plasma sample from 2019-nCoV infected patients was markedly elevated and linearly associated to viral load and lung injury.Our results suggest a number of potential diagnosis biomarkers and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drugs for potential repurposing treatment of 2019-nCoV infection.Yingxia Liu Yang Yang Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Jianming Li Cheng Feng Zheng Zhang Lifei Wang Ling Peng Li Chen Yuhao Qin Dandan Zhao Shuguang Tan Lu Yin Jun Xu Congzhao Zhou Chengyu Jiang Lei Liu 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:157

3Herbal decoctosome is a novel form of medicine显示文摘Traditionally, herbal medicine is consumed by drinking decoctions produced by boiling herbs with water. The functional components of the decoction are heat stable. Small RNAs(sRNAs) were reported as a new class of functional components in decoctions. However, the mechanisms by which sRNAs survive heat treatment of the decoction and enter cells are unclear.Previous studies showed that plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles(ELNs), which we call botanosomes, could deliver therapeutic reagents in vivo. Here, we report that heat-stable decoctosomes(ELNs) from decoctions have more therapeutic effects than the decoctions in vitro and demonstrate therapeutic efficacy in vivo. Furthermore, sRNAs, such as HJT-sRNA-m7 and PGY-sRNA-6, in the decoctosome exhibit potent anti-fibrosis and anti-inflammatory effects, respectively. Decoctosome is comprised of lipids, chemical compounds, proteins, and s RNAs. A medical decoctosome mimic is called bencaosome. A single lipid sphinganine(d22:0) identified in the decoctosome was mixed and heated with the synthesized sRNAs to form the simplest bencaosome. This simple bencaosome structure was identified by critical micelle concentration(cmc) assay that sRNAs coassembled with sphinganine(d22:0) to form the lipid layers of vesicles. The heating process facilitates co-assembly of sRNAs and sphinganine(d22:0) until a steady state is reached. The artificially produced sphinganine-HJT-sRNA-m7 and sphinganinePGY-sRNA-6 bencaosomes could ameliorate bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis and poly(I:C)-induced lung inflammation, respectively, following oral administration in mice. 6Plant-derived phosphocholine facilitates cellular uptake of anti-pulmonary fibrotic HJT-sRNA-m7显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive chronic disease with a high mortality rate, has limited treatment options. Currently, lung transplantation remains the only effective treatment. Here we report that a small RNA, HJT-sRNA-m7, from a Chinese herbal medicine Hong Jing Tian(HJT, RHODIOHAE CRENULATAE RADIX ET RHIZOMA, Rhodiola crenulata) can effectively reduce the expressions of fibrotic hallmark genes and proteins both in alveolar in vitro and in mouse lung tissues in vivo. We also discovered over one hundred oil-soluble chemicals from HJT decoctions, most of which are found in lipid extracts from other Chinese herbals decoctions, including Pu Gong Ying(PGY, TARAXACI HERBA, Taraxacum mongolicum), Chuan Xin Lian(CXL, changed to 'ANDROGRAPHIS HERBA, Andrographis paniculata'), and Jin Yin Hua(JYH, lonicera japonica or Honeysuckle). We identified the active component in these decoctions as two forms of phosphocholines, PC(18:0/18:2) and PC(16:0/18:2). These PCs potentially could form liposomes with small RNAs to enter human alveolar and gastric cells. 9Hsa-miR-1246, hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p inhibitors can reduce the cytotoxicity of Ebola virus glycoprotein in vitro显示文摘Ebola virus(EBOV)causes a highly lethal hemorrhagic fever syndrome in humans and has been associated with mortality rates of up to 91%in Zaire,the most lethal strain.Though the viral envelope glycoprotein(GP)mediates widespread inflammation and cellular damage,these changes have mainly focused on alterations at the protein level,the role of microRNAs(miRNAs)in the molecular pathogenesis underlying this lethal disease is not fully understood.Here,we report that the miRNAs hsa-miR-1246,hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p were induced in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)following expression of EBOV GP.Among the proteins encoded by predicted targets of these miRNAs,the adhesion-related molecules tissue factor pathway inhibitor(TFPI),dystroglycan1(DAG1)and the caspase 8 and FADD-like apoptosis regulator(CFLAR)were significantly downregulated in EBOV GP-expressing HUVECs.Moreover,inhibition of hsa-miR-1246,hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p,or overexpression of TFPI,DAG1 and CFLAR rescued the cell viability that was induced by EBOV GP.Our results provide a novel molecular basis for EBOV pathogenesis and may contribute to the development of strategies to protect against future EBOV pandemics.SHENG MiaoMiao ZHONG Ying CHEN Yang DU JianChao JU XiangWu ZHAO Chen ZHANG GuiGen ZHANG LiFang LIU KangTai YANG Ning XIE Peng LI DangSheng ZHANG Michael Q. 11Tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA) inhibits influenza A viral infection by disrupting viral proton channel M2显示文摘Influenza is a persistent threat to human health and there is a continuing requirement for updating antiinfluenza strategies. Initiated by observations of different endoplasmic reticulum(ER) responses of host to seasonal H1N1 and highly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI) A H5N1 infections, we identified an alternative antiviral role of tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA), a clinically available ER stress inhibitor, both in vitro and in vivo. Rather than modulating ER stress in host cells, TUDCA abolished the proton conductivity of viral M2 by disrupting its oligomeric states, which induces inefficient viral infection. We also showed that M2 penetrated cells, whose intracellular uptake depended on its proton channel activity,an effect observed in both TUDCA and M2 inhibitor amantadine. 12A Passive Method to Control Combustion Instabilities with Perforated Liner显示文摘The effectiveness of perforated liner with bias flow on the control of combustion instability is investigated.Combustion instabilities result from the coupling between acoustic waves and unsteady combustion heat release.Sometimes the phenomenon happens in afterburners of aeroengine and rocket engine,and it always causes damage to flame holders,liner sections and other engine components.Passive methods,such as perforated liner,are often used to suppress such instabilities in application.In this article,first,a burner testbed is built in order to study the characteristic of this phenomenon.The unstable frequencies and unstable area are investigated experimentally.Then an analytical model,based on 'transfer element method',is developed and the numerical results are compared with those from experiments.At last the perforated liner is applied to the burner to suppress the instabilities.The results show that the sound pressure can be greatly reduced by the perforated liner.Li Lei Guo Zhihui Zhang Chengyu Sun Xiaofeng 2010Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2010,23,6:6
13Elevated plasma levels of selective cytokines in COVID-19 patients reflect viral load and lung injury显示文摘A recent outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan,China was found to be caused by a 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 or HCoV-19).We previously reported the clinical features of 12 patients with2019-n Co V infections in Shenzhen,China.To further understand the pathogenesis of COVID-19 and find better ways to monitor and treat the disease caused by 2019-n Co V,we measured the levels of 48 cytokines in the blood plasma of those 12 COVID-19 patients.Thirty-eight out of the 48 measured cytokines in the plasma of 2019-n Co V-infected patients were significantly elevated compared to healthy individuals.Seventeen cytokines were linked to 2019-nCoV loads.Fifteen cytokines,namely M-CSF,IL-10,IFN-α2,IL-17,IL-4,IP-10,IL-7,IL-1 ra,G-CSF,IL-12,IFN-γ,IL-1α,IL-2,HGF and PDGF-BB,were strongly associated with the lung-injury Murray score and could be used to predict the disease severity of2019-n Co V infections by calculating the area under the curve of the receiver-operating characteristics.Our results suggest that 2019-nCoV infections trigger extensive changes in a wide array of cytokines,some of which could be potential biomarkers of disease severity of 2019-n Co V infections.These findings will likely improve our understanding of the immunopathologic mechanisms of this emerging disease.Our results also suggest that modulators of cytokine responses may play a therapeutic role in combating the disease once the functions of these elevated cytokines have been characterized.Yingxia Liu Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Yang Yang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zheng Zhang Yuhao Qin Xiaoyun Li Dandan Zhao Shunwang Li Shuguang Tan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Chenguang Shen Jianming Li Ling Peng Weibo Wu Mengli Cao Li Xing Zhixiang Xu Li Chen Congzhao Zhou William J Liu Lei Liu Chengyu Jiang 2020National Science Review2020,7,6:6
14Nanocrystalline TiO_(2) thin film electrodes prepared by common pressure hydrothermal method at low temperature显示文摘Nanocrystalline TiO2 thin film electrodes have been prepared from mixed pastes of tetrabutyl titanate and nanocrystalline TiO2 particles by common pressure hydro- thermal method at low temperature. The tetrabutyl titanate was hydrolyzed and crystallized into anatase TiO2 to inter- connect nanocrystalline TiO2 particles and adhere them to conductive substrates, obtaining highly porous and me- chanically stable TiO2 nanocrystalline film. 15Defect in Brnym1,a magnesium-dechelatase protein,causes a stay-green phenotype in an EMSmutagenized Chinese cabbage(Brassica campestris L.ssp.pekinensis)line显示文摘Leaf color is an important target trait in Chinese cabbage breeding programs.Leaf yellowing may reduce crop commercial and nutritional values.Some plants with the“stay-green”trait maintain leaf greenness during senescence and even after death.Stay-green Chinese cabbage may be a focal point of future breeding projects because it could improve crop quality and yield and prolong shelf life.A new stay-green mutant,non-yellowing mutant 1(nym1),was identified in Chinese cabbage derived from an ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS)-mutagenized population.The mutant had stay-green characteristics and a higher chlorophyll content than the wild-type during leaf senescence.The staygreen trait in the mutant Chinese cabbage was controlled by the recessive gene Brnym1.MutMap and KASP analyses showed that Brnym1(BraA03g050600.3C)encodes an mg-dechelatase(SGR protein),which might be the causal gene of the mutation in Chinese cabbage.A nonsynonymous single nucleotide base substitution(G to A)in the third exon of Brnym1 caused an amino acid substitution from L to F in the highly conserved domain of the magnesiumdechelatase.Ectopic overexpression showed that the BrNYM1 gene of wild-type Chinese cabbage complemented the SGR-defective stay-green mutant nye1-1 of Arabidopsis.The magnesium-dechelatase activity in the nym1 mutant was significantly downregulated compared to that in the wild type.Brnym1 was relatively upregulated in the mutant during late senescence,and BrNYM1 was localized to the chloroplasts.These results indicate that Brnym1(BraA03g050600.3C)is the causal gene of the stay-green mutation and could be of particular significance in the genetic improvement of Chinese cabbage.Nan Wang Yun Zhang Shengnan Huang Zhiyong Liu Chengyu Li Hui Feng 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
16Characteristics of the Large Area Surface Dielectric Barrier Discharge with a Multi-electrode Configuration显示文摘Surface gas discharge(SGD)plasmas have potential applications in the fields of active flow control,gas purification,heat transfer enhancement,etc.In order to obtain a uniform,stable and large-area SGD at atmosphere,a multi-electrode SGD plasma generator is designed in this paper.The major features of this newly-designed SGD plasma generator is as follows:the air-exposed upper grounded electrodes are made of nine tungsten wires and flush mounted on the dielectric PTFE barrier layer,while the lower powered electrode is made of a copper foil and encapsulated inside the PTFE material to avoid the ignition of the gas discharges below the dielectric barrier layer.The measurements on the electrical characteristics,fast imaging of discharges and the preliminary numerical analysis on the electric field distributions suggest that the multi-electrode configuration of the plasma generator plays a crucial role in enhancing the local electrical field,and subsequently,leads to the stable,quasi-uniform and large-area surface discharges.LI Heping CHEN Guoxu WANG Zhibin GE Nan BAO Chengyu 2013高电压技术2013,39,9:4

18Effect of Cu promoter on Ni-based SBA-15 catalysts for partial oxidation of methane to syngas显示文摘A series of Ni/SBA-15 catalysts with 5wt% to 15wt% Ni content as well as a series of 12.5%Ni/Cu/SBA-15 catalysts with 1% to 10% copper content were prepared by the impregnation method. The catalytic performance for partial oxidation of methane was investigated in a continuous flow microreactor under atmospheric pressure. The textural and chemical properties of the catalysts were characterized by XRD,TEM,BET and H 2-TPR techniques. The results indicated that the catalysts modified with Cu promoter showed better performance than those without modification. For the 12.5%Ni/2.5%/Cu/SBA-15 catalyst,at 850 C the conversion of CH 4 reached 97.9% and the selectivity of CO and H 2 reached 98.0% and 96.0%,respectively. In XRD patterns of the Ni/Cu/SBA-15 catalyst with 7.5 to 10% Cu contents there were CuO characteristic peaks beside NiO characteristic peaks. The mesoporous structure of SBA-15 was retained in all of the catalysts. TPR analysis of the catalysts revealed that a strong interaction between Ni,Cu promoter and SBA-15 support may be existed. 19Chemical and Isotopic Characters of the Water and Suspended Particulate Materials in the Yellow River and Their Geological and Environmental Implications显示文摘The chemical and isotopic characteristics of the water and suspended particulate materials(SPM)in the Yellow River were investigated on the samples collected from 29 hydrological monitoring stations in the mainstem and several major tributaries during 2004 to 2007.TheδD andδ^(18)O values of the Yellow River water vary in large ranges from-32‰to-91‰and from-3.1‰to-12.5‰,respectively.The characters of H and O isotope variations indicate that the major sources of the Yellow River water are meteoric water and snow melting water,and water cycle in the Yellow River basin is affected strongly by evaporation process and human activity.The average SPM content(9.635g/L)of the Yellow River is the highest among the world large rivers.Compared with the Yangtze River,the Yellow River SPM has much lower clay content and significantly higher contents of clastic silicates and carbonates.In comparison to the upper crust rocks,the Yellow River SPM contains less SiO_2,CaO,K_2O and Na_2O,but more TFe_2O_3,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Pb and Cd.The abnormal high Cd contents found in some sample may be related to local industrial activity.The REE contents and distribution pattern of the Yellow River SPM are very close to the average value of the global shale.The averageδ^(30)Si_(SPM)in the Yellow River(-0.11‰)is slightly higher than the average value(-0.22‰)of the Yangtze River SPM.The major factors controlling theδ^(30)Si_(SPM)of the Yellow River are the soil supply,the isotopic composition of the soil and the climate conditions.The TDS in the Yellow River are the highest among those of world large rivers.Fair correlations are observed among Cl^-,Na^+,K^+,and Mg^(2+)contents of the Yellow River water,indicating the effect of evaporation.The Ca^(2+)and Sr^(2+)concentrations show good correlation to the SO_4^(2-)concentration rather than HCO_3^-concentration,reflecting its origin from evaporates.The NO_3^-contents are affected by farmland fertilization.The Cu,Zn and Cd contents in dissolved load of the Yellow River water are all higher than those of average world large rivers,reflecting the effect of human activity.The dissolved load in the Yellow River water generally shows a REE distribution pattern parallel to those for the Yangtze River and the Xijiang River.Theδ^(30)Si values of the dissolved silicon vary in a range from 0.4‰to 2.9‰,averaging1.34‰.The major processes controlling the D_(Si)andδ^(30)Si_(Diss)of the Yellow River water are the weathering process of silicate rocks,growth of phytolith in plants,evaporation,dissolution of phytolith in soil,growth of fresh water diatom,adsorption and desorption of aqueous monosilicic acid on iron oxide and human activities.The averageδ^(30)Si_(Diss)value of the Yellow River is significantly lower than that of the Nile River,Yangtze River and Siberia rivers,but higher than those of other rivers,reflecting their differences in chemical weathering and biological activity.Theδ^(34)S_(SO4)values of the Yellow River water range from-3.8‰to 14.1‰,averaging 7.97‰.There is some correlation between SO_4^(2-)content andδ^(34)S_(SO4).The factors controlling theδ^(34)S_(SO4)of the Yellow River water are the SO_4 in the meteoric water,the SO_4 from gypsum or anhydrite in evaporite rocks,oxidation and dissolution of sulfides in the mineral deposits,magmatic rocks and sedimentary rocks,the sulfate reduction and precipitation process and the sulfate from fertilizer.The^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of all samplesrange from 0.71041 to 0.71237,averaging 0.71128.The variations in the^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratio and Sr concentration of river water are primarily caused by mixing of waters of various origins with different^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios and Sr contents resulting from water-rock interaction with different rock types.DING Tiping GAO Jianfei TIAN Shihong WANG Huaibai LI Ming WANG Chengyu LUO Xurong HANG Dan 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,1:4
