| 1 | Spatio-Temporal Impact of Rural Livelihood Capital on Labor Migra- tion in Panxi, Southwestern Mountainous Region of China显示文摘Labor migration to urban centers is a common phenomenon in the Panxi region of the southwestern mountainous region of China, mainly owing to inadequate livelihood capital in rural areas. Numerous studies have been conducted to explore the relationship between labor migration and its causes, such as individual and family characteristics, but few studies have focused on livelihood capital. This paper examines the impact factors on labor migration employment location selection and duration from a household livelihood capital perspective. A case study of 279 households from 10 villages in the area was carried out in February 2016. We used both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the data. On the basis of the 279 questionnaires, the proportion of households with non-labor migration is 48.4%, whereas households with labor migration within a local city and migration across regions account for 28.7% and 22.9%, respectively. Social, financial, and human capitals are the primary factors that influence migrants' employment location choice positively. Among them, social capital has a significant impact on both migration within a local city and across regions; each of the regression coefficients is 1.111 and 1.183. Social, human, and financial capitals also have a positive impact on the duration of labor migration, and similarly, social capital is the highest coefficient with 2.489. However, physical capital only partly impacts labor migration across regions, whereas the impact of labor migration within a local city, and the duration, are not significant. Furthermore, the impact of household natural capital on migration space and time are all negative relationships, especially for labor migration across the regions and duration, with coefficient scores of 4.836 and 3.450, respectively. That is to say, a laborer is inclined to migrate within a local city for a short term, or not migrate at all, if natural capital is abundant. | 2 | Computational high-throughput screening of alloy nanoclusters for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution显示文摘Here,we report a density functional theory(DFT)-based high-throughput screening method to successfully identify a type of alloy nanoclusters as the electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Totally 7924 candidates of Cu-based alloy clusters of Cu55-nMn(M=Co,Ni,Ru,and Rh)are optimized and evaluated to screening for the promising catalysts.By comparing different structural patterns,Cu-based alloy clusters prefer the core–shell structures with the dopant metal in the core and Cu as the shell atoms.Generally speaking,the HER performance of the Cu-based nanoclusters can be significantly improved by doping transition metals,and the active sites are the bridge sites and three-fold sites on the outer-shell Cu atoms.Considering the structural stability and the electrochemical activity,core–shell CuNi alloy clusters are suggested to be the superior electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution.A descriptor composing of surface charge is proposed to efficiently evaluate the HER activity of the alloy clusters supported by the DFT calculations and machine-learning techniques.Our screening strategy could accelerate the pace of discovery for promising HER electrocatalysts using metal alloy nanoclusters. | Xinnan Mao Lu Wang Yafeng Xu Pengju Wang Youyong Li Jijun Zhao | 2021 | npj Computational Materials2021,,1: | 3 |
| 3 | Comparison and Effects of Different Climate-Vegetation Models in Areas of Complex Terrain under Climate Change显示文摘Identifying the impacts of climate change is important for conservation of ecosystems under climate change, particularly in mountain regions. Holdridge life zone system and K?ppen classification provide two effective methods to assess impacts of climate change on ecosystems, as typical climate-vegetation models. Meanwhile, these previous studies are insufficient to assess the complex terrain as well as there are some uncertainties in results while using the given methods. Analysis of the impacts of the prevailing climate conditions in an area on shifts of ecosystems may reduce uncertainties in projecting climate change. In this study, we used different models to depict changes in ecosystems at 1 km × 1 km resolution in Sichuan Province, China during 1961–2010. The results indicate that changes in climate data during the past 50 years were sufficient to cause shifts in the spatial distribution of ecosystems. The trend of shift was from low temperature ecosystems to high temperature ecosystems. Compared with K?ppen classification, the Holdridge system has better adaptation to assess the impacts of climate change on ecosystems in low elevation(0–1000 m). | 5 | Growth response of Abies spectabilis to climate along an elevation gradient of the Manang valley in the central Himalayas显示文摘The Himalayas are characterized by a broad gradient of bioclimatic zones along their elevation.However,less is known how forest growth responds to climatic change along elevation.In this study,four standard treering width chronologies of Himalayan fir(Abies spectabilis)were developed,spanning 142–649 years along an elevation gradient of 3076–3900 m a.s.l.Principal component analysis classified the four chronologies into two groups;the ones at lower elevations(M1 and M2)and higher elevations(M3 and M4)show two distinct growth trends.Radial growth is limited by summer(June–August)precipitation at M3,and by precipitation during spring(March–May)and summer at M4.It is limited by spring temperatures and winter precipitation(December–February)at M1.Tree-ring width chronologies also significantly correlate with winter and spring Palmer Drought Severity Index(PDSI)at M1,and with summer PDSI at M3 and M4.Thus,Himalayan fir growth at high elevations is mainly limited by moisture stress rather than by low temperatures.Furthermore,the occurrence of missing rings coincides with dry periods,providing additional evidence for moisture limitation of Himalayan fir growth. | Samresh Rai Binod Dawadi Yafeng Wang Xiaoming Lu Huang Ru Shalik Ram Sigdel | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,6: | 2 |
| 6 | Effect of cooling rate on evolution of superconducting phases during decomposition and recrystallization of (Bi,Pb)-2223 core in Ag-sheathed tape显示文摘The reformation of (Bi,Pb)-2223 from the liquid or melt is very important for a melting process of (Bi,Pb)-2223 tape. By combination of quenching experiment with X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, the effect of cooling rate on the evolution of three superconducting phases in the (Bi,Pb)-2223 core of Ag-sheathed tape was investigated. The results show that (Bi,Pb)-2223 reformation from the melt seems to experience different routes during slowly cooling at different rates. One is that (Bi,Pb)-2223 phase reformed directly from the melt, and no Bi-2212 participate in this process. The other is that (Bi,Pb)-2223 is converted from the intermediate product, Bi-2212, which formed from the melt during the first cooling stage. | 13 | Urbanization and Its Impact on Rural Livelihoods:A Study of Xichang City Administration,Sichuan Province,China显示文摘This study examines urbanization in Xichang city administration(XCA)and its implications on rural livelihoods.Time series data on population size and land use(1990-2010)of Xichang city administration were gathered from population censuses and revenue records.The data were analyzed to observe changes in population size and land use/cover during the recorded period.Along with this,a case study of seven villages that are highly influenced by urban expansion in close proximity to Xichang city was carried out.We surveyed 110 households of selected villages using purposive-random sampling method and framed a structured questionnaire on urbanization implications for them.Descriptive statistics,correlation and regression model was employed to analyze the data.From 1990 to 2010,the authors observed an enormous transformation in urban landscapes as the urban area has increased by 14.02 km^(2)(111%)and about 20.65 km^(2)(16 times)increase in public transit construction land.On the other hand,paddy fields and grasslands of the selected villages have decreased by 16.6 km^(2)(4.9%)and 35.43 km^(2)(8.4%),respectively.Along with urbanization,out-migration as well as medical and educational facilities has increased while agriculture and livestock activities have decreased.The study suggested that to lessen the impact of urbanization in rural areas,agricultural and its allied practices should be intensified so as to augment employment and reduce out-migration from the rural areas. | Vishwambhar Prasad SATI DENG Wei LU Yafeng ZHANG Shaoyao WAN Jiangjun SONG Xueqian | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Urban and Environmental Studies2017,5,4: | 0 |

| 15 | Mega-Constellations Based TT&C Resource Sharing: Keep Reliable Aeronautical Communication in an Emergency显示文摘With the development of the transportation industry, the effective guidance of aircraft in an emergency to prevent catastrophic accidents remains one of the top safety concerns. Undoubtedly, operational status data of the aircraft play an important role in the judgment and command of the Operational Control Center(OCC). However, how to transmit various operational status data from abnormal aircraft back to the OCC in an emergency is still an open problem. In this paper, we propose a novel Telemetry, Tracking,and Command(TT&C) architecture named Collaborative TT&C(CoTT&C) based on mega-constellation to solve such a problem. CoTT&C allows each satellite to help the abnormal aircraft by sharing TT&C resources when needed, realizing real-time and reliable aeronautical communication in an emergency. Specifically, we design a dynamic resource sharing mechanism for CoTT&C and model the mechanism as a single-leader-multi-follower Stackelberg game. Further, we give an unique Nash Equilibrium(NE) of the game as a closed form. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed resource sharing mechanism is effective, incentive compatible, fair, and reciprocal. This paper proposes an optimization scheme by introducing partitioned convolution and exploring the spectrum characteristic of the APRX input data, reducing the usage of multipliers greatly. After the optimization, the number of real multipliers used in the frequency-domain processing module of the 16-ary APRX is reduced from about 576 to 68, with little performance loss. | 19 | The effects of parental relationships,and gender and grade differences on depressive disorder in Chinese adolescents:the evidence from multiple cross-sectional surveys(1999-2016)显示文摘This study aims to investigate the impacts of parental relationships,gender,and grade differences on depressive disorder among Chinese adolescents over a time period of nearly 20 years.The first survey took place in 1999 and involved 852 stu-dents;subsequent follow-up surveys took place in 2006,2009 and 2016,with 3345 students involved in total.Depressive disorder was measured by SCL-90-R(Chi-nese version).The surveys also collected social-demographic information about the respondents.Three indicators of parental relationships were examined-parental quarrels,parental disharmony and parental divorce.The results show that gender was significantly associated with adolescents’depressive disorder and that there was a higher prevalence of depressive disorder among senior middle school students than among junior middle school students,except in 1999.Troubled parental rela-tionships were associated with high risks of depressive disorder.Coefficients and 95%CI were adjusted for the survey years(1999,2006,2009,2016),school grades(junior or senior middle school students),gender(girls/boys),parental quarrels(yes/no),parental disharmony(yes/no),and parental divorce(yes/no).Logistic regres-sion indicated that parental divorce and gender were the two strongest predictors of the presence of depressive disorder.In summary,there was a higher prevalence of depressive disorder among girls and senior middle school students.Adolescents are vulnerable to depressive disorder in cases of parental divorce.Therefore,good parental relationships may be considered an important and necessary factor that affects the susceptibility of Chinese adolescents to depressive disorder. | Limin Wang Yafeng Zhang Hui Yin Zuoming Zhang Yuchun Tao Ye Xu Lu Chen Yongqing Feng Yixin Liu | 2019 | China Population and Development Studies2019,3,3: | 0 |
