1Low-loss metasurface optics down to the deep ultraviolet region显示文摘Shrinking conventional optical systems to chip-scale dimensions will benefit custom applications in imaging,displaying,sensing,spectroscopy,and metrology.Towards this goal,metasurfaces-planar arrays of subwavelength electromagnetic structures that collectively mimic the functionality of thicker conventional optical elements-have been exploited at frequencies ranging from the microwave range up to the visible range.Here,we demonstrate highperformance metasurface optical components that operate at ultraviolet wavelengths,including wavelengths down to the record-short deep ultraviolet range,and perform representative wavefront shaping functions,namely,highnumerical-aperture lensing,accelerating beam generation,and hologram projection.The constituent nanostructured elements of the metasurfaces are formed of hafnium oxide-a loss-less,high-refractive-index dielectric material deposited using low-temperature atomic layer deposition and patterned using high-aspect-ratio Damascene lithography.This study opens the way towards low-form factor,multifunctional ultraviolet nanophotonic platforms based on flat optical components,enabling diverse applications including lithography,imaging,spectroscopy,and quantum information processing.Cheng Zhang Shawn Divitt Qingbin Fan Wenqi Zhu Amit Agrawal Yanqing Lu Ting Xu Henri J.Lezec 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:11

3Resolving and weighing the quantum orbits in strong-field tunneling ionization显示文摘Tunneling ionization of atoms and molecules induced by intense laser pulses contains the contributions of numerous quantum orbits.Identifying the contributions of these orbits is crucial for exploring the application of tunneling and for understanding various tunneling-triggered strong-field phenomena.We perform a combined experimental and theoretical study to identify the relative contributions of the quantum orbits corresponding to the electrons tunneling ionized during the adjacent rising and falling quarter cycles of the electric field of the laser pulse.In our scheme,a perturbative second-harmonic field is added to the fundamental driving field.By analyzing the relative phase dependence of the signal in the photoelectron momentum distribution,the relative contributions of these two orbits are unambiguously determined.Our results show that their relative contributions sensitively depend on the longitudinal momentum and modulate with the transverse momentum of the photoelectron,which is attributed to the interference of the electron wave packets of the long orbit.The relative contributions of these orbits resolved here are important for the application of strong-field tunneling ionization as a photoelectron spectroscopy for attosecond time-resolved measurements.Jia Tan Shengliang Xu Xu Han Yueming Zhou Min Li Wei Cao Qingbin Zhang Peixiang Lu 2021Advanced Photonics2021,3,3:2
4Multiple forms of vitamin B_(6) regulate salt tolerance by balancing ROS and abscisic acid levels in maize root显示文摘Salt stress causes osmotic stress,ion toxicity and oxidative stress,inducing the accumulation of abscisic acid(ABA)and excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,which further damage cell structure and inhibit the development of roots in plants.Previous study showed that vitamin B_(6)(VB_(6))plays a role in plant responses to salt stress,however,the regulatory relationship between ROS,VB_(6) and ABA under salt stress remains unclear yet in plants.In our study,we found that salt stress-induced ABA accumulation requires ROS production,in addition,salt stress also promoted VB_(6)(including pyridoxamine(PM),pyridoxal(PL),pyridoxine(PN),and pyridoxal 5′-phosphate(PLP))accumulation,which involved in ROS scavenging and ABA biosynthesis.Furthermore,VB_(6)-deficient maize mutant small kernel2(smk2)heterozygous is more susceptible to salt stress,and which failed to scavenge excessive ROS effectively or induce ABA accumulation in maize root under salt stress,interestingly,which can be restored by exogenous PN and PLP,respec-tively.According to these results,we proposed that PN and PLP play an essential role in balancing ROS and ABA levels under salt stress,respectively,it laid a foundation for VB_(6) to be better applied in crop salt resistance than ABA.Chongchong Lu Yuan Tian Xuanxuan Hou Xin Hou Zichang Jia Min Li Mingxia Hao Yanke Jiang Qingbin Wang Qiong Pu Ziyi Yin Yang Li Baoyou Liu Xiaojing Kang Guangyi Zhang Xinhua Ding Yinggao Liu 2022Stress Biology2022,2,1:1

6All-optical attosecond time domain interferometry显示文摘Interferometry,a key technique in modern precision measurements,has been used for length measurement in engineering metrology and astronomy.An analogous time-domain interferometric technique would represent a significant complement to spatial domain applications and require the manipulation of interference on extreme time and energy scales.Here,we report an all-optical interferometer using laser-driven high order harmonics as attosecond temporal slits.By controlling the phase of the temporal slits with an external field,a time domain interferometer that preserves both attosecond temporal resolution and hundreds of me V energy resolution is implemented.We apply this exceptional temporal resolution to reconstruct the waveform of an arbitrarily polarized optical pulse,and utilize the provided energy resolution to interrogate the abnormal character of the transition dipole near the Cooper minimum in argon.This novel attosecond interferometry paves the way for high precision measurements in the time-energy domain using all-optical approaches.Zhen Yang Wei Cao Yunlong Mo Huiyao Xu Kang Mi Pengfei Lan Qingbin Zhang Peixiang Lu 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:1

9Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity response to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19 patients显示文摘Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)responses to viral infection are a form of antibody regulated immune responses mediated through the Fc fragment.Whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)triggered ADCC responses contributes to COVID-19 disease development is currently not well understood.To understand the potential correlation between ADCC responses and COVID-19 disease development,we analyzed the ADCC activity and neutralizing antibody response in 255 individuals ranging from asymptomatic to fatal infections over 1 year post disease.ADCC was elicited by 10 days post-infection,peaked by 11-20 days,and remained detectable until 400 days post-infection.In general,patients with severe disease had higher ADCC activities.Notably,patients who had severe disease and recovered had higher ADCC activities than patients who had severe disease and deceased.Importantly,ADCC activities were mediated by a diversity of epitopes in SARS-COV-2-infected mice and induced to comparable levels against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs)(B.1.1.7,B.1.351,and P.1)as that against the D614G mutant in human patients and vaccinated mice.Our study indicates anti-SARS-CoV-2 ADCC as a major trait of COVID-19 patients with various conditions,which can be applied to estimate the extra-neutralization level against COVID-19,especially lethal COVID-19.Yuanling Yu Meiyu Wang Xiaoai Zhang Shufen Li Qingbin Lu Haolong Zeng Hongyan Hou Hao Li Mengyi Zhang Fei Jiang Jiajing Wu Ruxia Ding Zehua Zhou Min Liu Weixue Si Tao Zhu Hangwen Li Jie Ma Yuanyuan Gu Guangbiao She Xiaokun Li Yulan Zhang Ke Peng Weijin Huang Wei Liu Youchun Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10:0
10Full experimental determination of tunneling time with attosecond-scale streaking method显示文摘Tunneling is one of the most fundamental and ubiquitous processes in the quantum world.The question of how long a particle takes to tunnel through a potential barrier has sparked a long-standing debate since the early days of quantum mechanics.Here,we propose and demonstrate a novel scheme to accurately determine the tunneling time of an electron.In this scheme,a weak laser field is used to streak the tunneling current produced by a strong elliptically polarized laser field in an attoclock configuration,allowing us to retrieve the tunneling ionization time relative to the field maximum with a precision of a few attoseconds.This overcomes the difficulties in previous attoclock measurements wherein the Coulomb effect on the photoelectron momentum distribution has to be removed with theoretical models and it requires accurate information of the driving laser fields.We demonstrate that the tunneling time of an electron from an atom is close to zero within our experimental accuracy.Our study represents a straightforward approach toward attosecond time-resolved imaging of electron motion in atoms and molecules.Miao Yu Kun Liu Min Li Jiaqing Yan Chuanpeng Cao Jia Tan Jintai Liang Keyu Guo Wei Cao Pengfei Lan Qingbin Zhang Yueming Zhou Peixiang Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8:0
11Summer habitat selection and impacts of human disturbance on leopard cats(Prionailurus bengalensis)显示文摘Introduction:As a consequence of habitat loss and degradation,the leopard cat(Prionailurus bengalensis)in China has become endangered and in need of urgent protection.In situ conservation of leopard cats must be based on an understanding of their habitat selection patterns.We studied the summer habitat of leopard cats using line-transect surveys in the northern Taihang Mountain region surrounding Beijing,China.We compared used plots with non-used plots in elevation,tree canopy,and 20 other ecological variables,and used Vanderploeg��Scavia’s resource selection index(VSI)to analyze habitat preferences.Outcomes/others:Results show that tree canopy,tree height,tree density,and stump quantity of used plots were significantly lower than non-used plots in summer,and that leopard cats preferred habitats located on northern,flat slopes with lower slope,shrub-dominated,dry soil,and less fallen-wood.Leopard cats had a strong tendency to use habitats near human disturbance areas with moderate levels of disturbance intensity.Conclusion:The results suggest that future conservation efforts should emphasize:(1)strengthening the protection and management of forest fringe shrub habitats to improve summer habitat suitability,and(2)environmental education and animal protection campaigns to promote community biodiversity conservation.Jiayi Wu Jing Wang Yinjiu Zhu Xiangli Bu Rongwei Xiang Qingbin Lu Shaopeng Cui Yinghong Hao Yan Sheng Xiuxiang Meng 2020Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2020,6,1:0
12ARTICLE OPEN Viral dynamics and antibody responses in people with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection显示文摘Over 40% of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)COVID-19 patients were asymptomatically infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and the immune responses of these asymptomatic individuals is a critical factor for developing the strategy to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.Here,we determined the viral dynamics and antibody responses among 143 asymptomatic individuals identified in a massive screening of more than 5 million people in eight districts of Wuhan in May 2020.Asymptomatic individuals were admitted to the government-designated centralized sites in accordance with policy.The incidence rate of asymptomatic infection is〜2.92/100,000.These individuals had low viral copy numbers(peaked at 315 copies/mL)and short-lived antibody responses with the estimated diminish time of 69 days.The antibody responses in individuals with persistent SARS-CoV-2 infection is much longer with the estimated diminish time of 257 days.These results imply that the immune responses in the asymptomatic individuals are not potent enough for preventing SARS-CoV-2 re-infection,which has recently been reported in recovered COVID-19 patients.This casts doubt on the efficacy of forming'herd-immunity'through natural SARS-CoV-2 infection and urges for the development of safe and effective vaccines.Zhiwei Sui Xinhua Dai Qingbin Lu Yulan Zhang Min Huang Shufen Li Tao Peng Jie Xie Yongzhuo Zhang Chunchen Wu Jianbo Xia Lianhua Dong Jiayi Yang Wenfeng Huang Siyuan Liu Ziquan Wang Ke Li Qingfang Yang Xi Zhou Ying Wu Wei Liu Xiang Fang Ke Peng 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:0
13GIS-Supported Precision Agricultural Fertilization Management at Small Scale显示文摘Precision agricultural fertilization technique at small scale is the key for regional cultivated land protection and management. Taking Dingzhuang Town (located in Guangrao County, Shandong Province) as a case study, this article explores the precision agricultural fertilization technique at small scale. First, three main cropping systems are identified via field investigation, namely 'wheat–maize–soybean', 'garlic–maize' and 'cotton'. Then, application amount of fertilizer N, P and K under the three cropping systems is calculated on the parameters acquired through field experiment, using nutrient balance approach on the support of geographic information system technique. The results indicate that, precision agricultural fertilization technique at small scale take on different characteristics compared with that at larger scale. The spatial distribution of soil nutrients in Dingzhuang Town is out of equilibrium, and huge amount fertilizer is needed to satisfy local agricultural production. There is huge distinction of fertilizer ap- plication amount under different cropping systems. The demand of fertilizer amount under 'wheat–maize–soybean' system is larger than that under 'garlic–maize' and 'cotton' systems.
