1Recurrent giant fibrovascular polyp of the esophagus显示文摘Giant fibrovascular polyps of the esophagus and hypopharynx are rare benign esophageal tumors. They arise most commonly in the upper esophagus and may, rarely, originate in the hypopharynx. They can vary significantly in size. Even though they are benign, they may be lethal due to either bleeding or, rarely, asphyxiation if a large polyp is regurgitated. Patients commonly present with dysphagia or hematemesis. The polyps may not be well visualized on endoscopy and imaging plays a vital role in aiding diagnosis as well as providing important information for preoperative planning, such as the location of the pedicle, the vascularity of the polyp and the tissue elements of the mass. They can also be recurrent in rare cases, especially if the resection margins of the base are involved. We review the recent literature and report a case of a 61-year-old man with a recurrent giant esophageal fibrovascular polyp with illustrative contrast barium swallow, CT and intra-operative images, who required several surgeries via a combination of endoscopic, trans-oral, trans-cervical, trans-thoracic and trans-abdominal approaches.Ser Yee Lee Weng Hoong Chan Ranjiv Sivanandan Dennis Teck Hock Lim Wai Keong Wong 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,29:7

4对于非酒精性脂肪肝病的认识——基于亚洲人群的研究显示文摘背景和目的:非酒性脂肪肝病(NAFLD)是最常见的慢性肝病,同时也是代谢综合征的一项危险因素。NAFLD在全球范围内的患病率基于地域差异在5%~30%不等。尽管流行病学资料显示代谢相关性疾病的患病率在新加坡呈快速增长,但对于该地区NAFLD的数据却十分有限。本研究旨在了解新加坡NAFLD的患病率及公众对该病的认识。方法:本研究是一项横断面观察研究,旨在评估NAFLD患者的人口统计学、人体测量学及临床资料,研究对象来自于一项胃肠公众论坛的参会者。NAFLD的诊断基于超声学标准;代谢综合征的诊断则基于国际糖尿病联盟的指南。通过自行设计的调查问卷来了解大家对NAFLD这种疾病的看法。结果:共有227名研究对象纳入研究,其中40%被诊断为NAFLD。相对于那些非NAFLD人群,NAFLD者男性居多,年龄更大,体质指数更高,腰围更宽,患代谢性综合征的比例更高(均P<0.05)。尽管有71.2%的研究对象之前听说过NAFLD,但其中仅25.4%认为自己具有NAFLD的风险。有无代谢风险因素者对NAFLD的认识差不多(P>0.05)。值得注意的是,75.6%的具有代谢危险因素者,并不认为自己存在NAFLD风险。结论:我们的研究显示NAFLD在新加坡具有较高的患病率,包括在那些非肥胖人群中。考虑到人们对NAFLD的发生风险认识不足,有必要加强公众教育,以提高人们对NAFLD的认识。George B.B.Goh Clarence Kwan Sze Ying Lim Nanda KK Venkatanarasimha Rafidah Abu-Bakar Thinesh L Krishnamoorthy Hang Hock Shim Kiang Hiong Tay Wan Cheng Chow 2016Gastroenterology Report2016,4,2:1

19The rapid determination of volatile fatty acid number in para rubber latex using fourier transform-near infrared spectroscopy based on quantification and discrimination model显示文摘Volatile Fatty Acid number(VFA no.)is one of the parameters indicating the state of quality of Para rubber latex at that particular time.Most factories analyze this parameter using standard analytical method as in ISO 506:1992(E).Nevertheless,this procedure is complicated,chemical and time consuming,as well as skilled analyst required.Therefore,near infrared(NIR)spectroscopy which is rapid,accurate and nonchemicals method was applied to determine the VFA no.infield latex and concentrated latex based on quantification and discriminant model.The best calibration equation was obtained from standard normal variate(SNV)spectra in the region of 6109.7–5770.3,4613.1–4242.9 cm^(-1) with R?0:832,SECV?0:036 and no bias.From the performance check,statistically it was found that SECV and bias were low enough for practical acceptance and the predicted VFA no.was not di®erent significantly from actual VFA no.at 95% confidence intervals.In addition,discriminant model was developed to separate good quality latex from the deteriorated latex using VFA no.at 0.06 as standard as in ISO 2004:2010(E).The discriminant model can be used to screen the latex with overall accuracy of 91.86%in validation set.Sureeporn Narongwongwattana Ronnarit Rittiron Chin Hock Lim 2015Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2015,8,5:0
