1Individual Variation in Growth in Sea Cucumber Apostichopus japonicus(Selenck) Housed Individually显示文摘The exceptionally large individual growth variation has been previously recognized in several sea cucumber cohorts.However,there is a lack of information regarding the mechanism of such individual differences.In this study,the sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus(Selenka) was reared individually in order to eliminate possible effects of social interaction,stocking density,etc.The results showed that there were substantial differences in growth among the sea cucumber individuals during the 100-day experiment.The special growth rate of the sea cucumber individuals differed by up to three folds(from 0.40% to 1.01%),and the coefficient of variation in body weight increased from 12.04% to 40.51%.The final wet body weight,food intake and food conversion efficiency for each sea cucumber were generally positively correlated with their initial wet body weight(P<0.05).Energy budget of the animals showed that the food energy spent on respiration was much greater(about four folds) but energy deposited for growth was much less for(initially) smaller than for larger A.japonicus.The present result implies that there are obvious genetic differences among the sea cucumber individuals,largely accounting for the individual growth variation of the cohort sea cucumber.These results will provide some basic data for promoting selective breeding and farming of the sea cucumber.LIANG Miao DONG Shuanglin GAO Qinfeng WANG Fang TIAN Xiangli 2010Journal of Ocean University of China2010,9,3:5

3The study of the effect of gas-phase fluctuation on slag flow and refractory brick corrosion in the slag tapping hole of an entrained-flow gasifier显示文摘The service life of refractory brick in the slag tapping hole of the entrained flow gasifier was significantly lower than that in other locations.It was critically important to study the corrosion mechanism of refractory brick in the slag tapping hole for guiding industrial production.Considering the complex flow field in the slag tapping hole,the influence of gas velocity and temperature fluctuation on the service life of refractory brick was investigated in this study.The results showed that the slag flow characteristics periodically changed with the gas temperature and velocity fluctuations.The brick corrosion rate increased with the decrease of fluctuation frequency.Compared with the gas-phase velocity fluctuation,the gasphase temperature fluctuation had a more significant influence on the brick corrosion rate.When the fluctuation frequency was 0.01 Hz and the gas temperature fluctuation amplitude was 200 K,the corrosion rate of refractory bricks increased by 25%.It could be concluded that the fluctuation of gas-phase temperature was the main cause for the low service life of refractory bricks in the tapping hole.Kuo Lin Zhongjie Shen Qinfeng Liang Jianliang Xu Haifeng Liu 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,7:1

12Exosomes-loaded electroconductive nerve dressing for nerve regeneration and pain relief against diabetic peripheral nerve injury显示文摘Over the years,electroconductive hydrogels(ECHs)have been extensively applied for stimulating nerve regeneration and restoring locomotor function after peripheral nerve injury(PNI)with diabetes,given their favorable mechanical and electrical properties identical to endogenous nerve tissue.Nevertheless,PNI causes the loss of locomotor function and inflammatory pain,especially in diabetic patients.It has been established that bone marrow stem cells-derived exosomes(BMSCs-Exos)have analgesic,anti-inflammatory and tissue regeneration properties.Herein,we designed an ECH loaded with BMSCs-Exos(ECH-Exos)electroconductive nerve dressing to treat diabetic PNI to achieve functional recovery and pain relief.Given its potent adhesive and self-healing properties,this laminar dressing is convenient for the treatment of damaged nerve fibers by automatically wrapping around them to form a size-matched tube-like structure,avoiding the cumbersome implantation process.Our in vitro studies showed that ECH-Exos could facilitate the attachment and migration of Schwann cells.Meanwhile,Exos in this system could modulate M2 macrophage polarization via the NF-κB pathway,thereby attenuating inflammatory pain in diabetic PNI.Additionally,ECH-Exos enhanced myelinated axonal regeneration via the MEK/ERK pathway in vitro and in vivo,consequently ameliorating muscle denervation atrophy and further promoting functional restoration.Our findings suggest that the ECH-Exos system has huge prospects for nerve regeneration,functional restoration and pain relief in patients with diabetic PNI.Qinfeng Yang Shenghui Su Shencai Liu Sheng Yang Jing Xu Yixiu Zhong Yusheng Yang Liangjie Tian Zilin Tan Jian Wang Zhiqiang Yu Zhanjun Shi Fangguo Liang 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,8:0
