| 3 | Comparing the Diagnostic Criteria for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus of World Health Organization 2013 with 1999 in Chinese Population显示文摘INTRODUCTION Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) was earlier defined as 'hyperglycemia first recognized during pregnancy' and has more recently been described by American Diabetes Association (ADA) (2012) as diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy that is not clearly overt diabetes.[1] The hyperglycemia and adverse pregnancy outcomes study (HAPO) demonstrated that the risk of adverse maternal,fetal,and neonatal outcomes continuously increase as a function of maternal glycemia at 24-28 weeks,even within ranges previously considered normal for pregnancy.[2] After reviewing the results of the HAPO study,many international diabetes study groups,including the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups and ADA have adopted the 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) at 24-28 weeks as a screening and diagnostic test and defined new cut-off values for GDM diagnosis.The Ministry of Health of China published the criteria for GDM,that is the same as the ADA criteria on July 1,2011.World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the 75 g OGTT with different cut-offvalues as a diagnostic test since 1999,changed its recommendation on 2013.In Hongkong and Yunnan province in China,most hospital adopted the WHO 1999 criteria,nevertheless,there is no evidence of multicenter and large sample to show that the GDM population within the same ethnic group diagnosed by the new WHO criteria matches those diagnosed by the old one and consistency between the two criteria has not been reported.Thus,we conducted this study to analyze the two criteria in Chinese pregnant women. | Weiwei Zhu Huixia Yang Yumei Wei Zilian Wang Xuelan Li Hairong Wu Nan Li Meihua Zhang Xinghui Liu Hua Zhang Yunhui Wang Jianmin Niu Yujie Gan Liruo Zhong Yunfeng Wang Anil Kapur | 2015 | Chinese Medical Journal2015,,1: | 42 |
| 4 | One-year clinical study of NeuroR egen scaffold implantation following scar resection in complete chronic spinal cord injury patients显示文摘The objective of this clinical study was to assess the safety and feasibility of the collagen scaffold, Neuro Regen scaffold, one year after scar tissue resection and implantation. Scar tissue is a physical and chemical barrier that prevents neural regeneration. However, identification of scar tissue is still a major challenge. In this study, the nerve electrophysiology method was used to distinguish scar tissue from normal neural tissue, and then different lengths of scars ranging from 0.5–4.5 cm were surgically resected in five complete chronic spinal cord injury(SCI) patients. The NeuroR egen scaffold along with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMCs), which have been proven to promote neural regeneration and SCI recovery in animal models, were transplanted into the gap in the spinal cord following scar tissue resection. No obvious adverse effects related to scar resection or Neuro Regen scaffold transplantation were observed immediately after surgery or at the 12-month follow-up. In addition, patients showed partially autonomic nervous function improvement, and the recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials(SSEP) from the lower limbs was also detected. | 6 | Remediation of saline–sodic soil with flue gas desulfurization gypsum in a reclaimed tidal flat of southeast China显示文摘Salinization and sodicity are obstacles for vegetation reconstruction of coastal tidal flat soils. A study was conducted with flue gas desulfurization(FGD)-gypsum applied at rates of 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 Mg/ha to remediate tidal flat soils of the Yangtze River estuary.Exchangeable sodium percentage(ESP), exchangeable sodium(ExNa), p H, soluble salt concentration, and composition of soluble salts were measured in 10 cm increments from the surface to 30 cm depth after 6 and 18 months. The results indicated that the effect of FGD-gypsum is greatest in the 0–10 cm mixing soil layer and 60 Mg/ha was the optimal rate that can reduce the ESP to below 6% and decrease soil p H to neutral(7.0). The improvement effect was reached after 6 months, and remained after 18 months. The composition of soluble salts was transformed from sodic salt ions mainly containing Na^+, HCO_3^-+ CO_3^(2-)and Cl-to neutral salt ions mainly containing Ca^(2+)and SO_4^(2-). Non-halophyte plants were survived at 90%. | 8 | Microcalorimetric investigation of effect of berberine alkaloids from Coptis chinensis Franch on intestinal diagnostic flora growth显示文摘The inhibitory effect of three berberine alkaloids (BAs) from Coptis chinensis Franch, a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) herb, on Bifidobacterium adolescentis growth was investigated by micro- calorimetry. The power-time curves of B. adolescentis with and without BAs were acquired, meanwhile the extent and duration of inhibitory effect on the metabolism were evaluated by the growth rate con- stant (k), half inhibitory ratio (IC50), maximum heat-output power (Pmax), peak time of maximum heat-output power (tp) and total heat production (Qt). k, Pmax and Qt decreased, and tp was prolonged with the increase of BAs concentration. The IC50 of BAs is 806 μg/mL for berberine, 341 μg/mL for cop- tisine and 236 μg/mL for palmatine. The sequence of antimicrobial activity of BAs is berberine < cop- tisine < palmatine. Combined with previous studies, it could be shown that the sequences of antim- icrobial activity of BAs on both Bacillus shigae and Escherichia coli are berberine > coptisine > pal- matine. The structure-function relationship of BAs indicates that the functional group methylenedioxy or methoxyl at C2 and C3 might be the major group inducing the activities of BAs on E. coli and B. adolescentis. | 9 | Heterotic Group Classification of 63 Inbred Lines and Hybrid Purity Identification by Using SSR Markers in Winter Cabbage(Brassica Oleracea L. var. capitata)显示文摘Winter cabbage is an important crop cultivated through winter in the region near the Yangtze River, enabling the supply of fresh cabbage there at that time of year. However, a problem has emerged regarding the newly developed parents of winter cabbage, which is completely different from spring and autumn cabbage, namely, how to combine these parents to breed an elite hybrid. To classify the heterotic groups and improve the efficiency of parent selection in winter cabbage breeding, 20 polymorphic SSR markers were selected to screen 63 winter cabbage inbred lines. Seventeen pairs among the 20 SSR markers amplified polymorphic bands. These primers amplified two to six bands,with an average of 2.8 bands per primer, and a total of 47 polymorphic bands were generated in the 63 inbred lines. These lines included flatheaded morphotype and round-headed morphotype, thus they were separately classified into heterotic groups based on the SSR markers. The flat-headed morphotype contained 21 inbred lines and was classified into three heterotic groups, named Hanchun 4, Jiali, and Dongsheng, in accordance with the representative germplasm contained in each group. The round-headed morphotype contained 42 inbred lines and was classified into five heterotic groups, named Parte, Bejo1039, YK-143, SCA002, and Golden B90. Meanwhile, parent analysis of 20 developed elite combinations showed that their parents were all distributed in different heterotic groups, indicating that the group classification was reasonable,which can provide a basis for further parent selection in winter cabbage breeding. In order to improve mechanical properties of friction stir lap welding(FSLW) joint, a tool with a reverse-threaded pin was designed in the present study. Using 2024-T4 aluminum alloy as the research object, tools with the fullthreaded pin and reverse-threaded pin were used in FSLW. Results showed that, when using the same parameter combination, FSLW joint using the reverse-threaded pin owned bigger effective sheet thickness(EST), bigger lap width and better lap shear failure strength. Compared with the full-threaded pin,fracture mode of the FSLW joint changed from shear fracture mode to tensile fracture mode when the reverse-threaded pin was used. | 11 | Reduced EGFR signaling enhances cartilage destruction in a mouse osteoarthritis model显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA) is a degenerative joint disease and a major cause of pain and disability in older adults. We have previously identified epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) signaling as an important regulator of cartilage matrix degradation during epiphyseal cartilage development. To study its function in OA progression, we performed surgical destabilization of the medial meniscus(DMM) to induce OA in two mouse models with reduced EGFR activity, one with genetic modification(EgfrWa5/1mice) and the other one with pharmacological inhibition(gefitinib treatment). Histological analyses and scoring at 3 months post-surgery revealed increased cartilage destruction and accelerated OA progression in both mouse models. TUNEL staining demonstrated that EGFR signaling protects chondrocytes from OA-induced apoptosis, which was further confirmed in primary chondrocyte culture. Immunohistochemistry showed increased aggrecan degradation in these mouse models, which coincides with elevated amounts of ADAMTS5 and matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP13), the principle proteinases responsible for aggrecan degradation, in the articular cartilage after DMM surgery. Furthermore, hypoxia-inducible factor 2a(HIF2a), a critical catabolic transcription factor stimulating MMP13 expression during OA, was also upregulated in mice with reduced EGFR signaling. | 12 | Interferon-inducible cytoplasmic lncLrrc55-AS promotes antiviral innate responses by strengthening IRF3 phosphorylation显示文摘Type I interferon (IFN-I) production is efficiently induced to ensure a potent innate immune response to viral infection. How this response can be enhanced, however, remains to be explored. Here, we identify a new cytoplasmic long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), lncLrrc55-AS, that drives a positive feedback loop to promote interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) signaling and IFN-I production. We show that lncLrrc55-AS is virus-induced in multiple cell types via the IFN-JAK-STAT pathway. LncLrrc55-AS-deficient mice display a weakened antiviral immune response and are more susceptible to viral challenge. Mechanistically, lncLrrc55-AS binds phosphatase methylesterase 1 (PME-1), and promotes the interaction between PME-1 and the phosphatase PP2A, an inhibitor of IRF3 signaling. LncLrrc55-AS supports PME-1-mediated demethylation and inactivation of PP2A, thereby enhancing IRF3 phosphorylation and signaling. Loss of PME-1 phenocopies lncLrrc55-AS deficiency, leading to diminished IRF3 phosphorylation and IFN-I production. | 13 | Genome-wide Analysis of MYB Gene Family in Potato Provides Insights into Tissue-specific Regulation of Anthocyanin Biosynthesis显示文摘The MYB transcription factor is one of the largest gene families in plants,playing an important role in regulating plant growth,development,response to stress,senescence,and especially the anthocyanin biosynthesis.In this study,A total of 217 MYB genes,including 901R-MYBs,124 R2R3-MYBs,and 3 R1R2R3-MYBs have been identified from the potato genome.The 1R-MYB and R2R3-MYB family members could be divided into 20 and 35 subgroups respectively.Analysis of gene structure and protein motifs revealed that members within the same subgroup presented similar exon/intron and motif organization,further supporting the results of phylogenetic analysis.Potato is an ideal plant to reveal the tissue-specific anthocyanins biosynthesis regulated by MYB,as the anthocyanins could be accumulated in different tissues,showing colorful phenotypes.Five pairs of colored and colorless tissues,stigma,petal,stem,leaf,and tuber flesh,were applied to the transcriptomic analysis.A total of 70 MYB genes were found to be differentially expressed between colored and colorless tissues,and these differentially expressed genes were suspected to regulate the biosynthesis of anthocyanin of different tissues.Co-expression analysis identified numerous potential interactive regulators of anthocyanins biosynthesis,involving 39 MYBs,24 bHLHs,2 WD-repeats,and 29 biosynthesis genes.Genome-wide association study(GWAS)of tuber flesh color revealed amajor signal at the end of Chromosome 10,which was co-localized with reported I gene(StMYB88),controlling tuber peel color.Analyses of DEGs(Differentially Expression Genes)revealed that both StMYB88 and StMYB89 were closely related to regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis of tuber flesh.This work offers a comprehensive overview of the MYB family in potato and will lay a foundation for the functional validation of these genes in the tissue-specific regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis. | Yumei Li Jun Liang Xiangzhi Zeng Han Guo Youwei Luo Philip Kear Shouming Zhang Guangtao Zhu | 2021 | Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,2: | 8 |

As one critical component in sodium-ion battery, solid-state electrolyte should possess superior operational safety and design simplicity, yet reasonable high room-temperature ionic conductivity. This paper gives a comprehensive review on the recent progress in solid-state electrolyte materials for sodium-ion battery, including inorganic ceramic/glass-ceramic, organic polymer and ceramic-polymer composite electrolytes, and also provides a comparison of the ionic conductivity in various solid-state electrolyte materials. | 16 | Utilization of Ogura CMS germplasm with the clubroot resistance gene by fertility restoration and cytoplasm replacement in Brassica oleracea L显示文摘Clubroot disease,a major plant root disease caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae,has become one of the most destructive diseases among cultivated cruciferous vegetables.However,clubroot-resistant Brassica oleracea materials are rare.A few clubroot-resistant cabbage varieties are available on the market,but all are Ogura cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS)types.Therefore,in this study,to reutilize the clubroot-resistant Ogura CMS germplasm of cabbage,a new fertility-restored Ogura CMS material,16Q2-11,was used as a bridge to transfer the clubroot resistance(CR)gene from the Ogura CMS cytoplasm to the normal cytoplasm by a two-step method(a fertility restoration and cytoplasm replacement method).In the first cross for fertility restoration of Ogura CMS clubroot-resistant cabbage(FRCRC),16Q2-11 was used as a restorer to cross with Ogura CMS materials containing the CR gene CRb2.Eleven Rfo-positive progenies were generated,of which four contained CRb2:F8-514,F8-620,F8-732 and F8-839.After inoculation with race 4 of P.brassicae,these four CRb2-positive individuals showed resistance.Furthermore,F8-514 and F8-839 were then used as male parents in the second cross of FRCRC to cross with cabbage inbred lines,resulting in the successful introgression of the CRb2 gene into the inbred lines.All offspring produced from this step of cross,which had a normal cytoplasm,showed a high resistance to race 4 of P.brassicae and could be utilized for the breeding of clubrootresistant cabbage varieties in the future.This is the first time that the Ogura CMS restorer has been used to restore the fertility of Ogura CMS clubroot-resistant cabbages,which could improve germplasm diversity in cabbage and provide a reference method for using CMS germplasm in Brassica crops. | Wenjing Ren Zhiyuan Li Fengqing Han Bin Zhang Xing Li Zhiyuan Fang Limei Yang Mu Zhuang Honghao Lv Yumei Liu Yong Wang Hailong Yu Yangyong Zhang | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 7 |

| 18 | Risk of gestational diabetes recurrence and the development of type 2 diabetes among women with a history of gestational diabetes and risk factors: a study among 18 clinical centers in China显示文摘Background:Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)brings health issues for both mothers and offspring,and GDM prevention is as important as GDM management.It was shown that a history of GDM was significantly associated with a higher maternal risk for GDM recurrence.The incidence of GDM recurrence was unclear because of the incidence of second-child was low before 2016 in China.We aim to investigate the prevalence of GDM recurrence and its associated high-risk factors which may be useful for the prediction of GDM recurrence in China.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted which enrolled participants who underwent regular prenatal examination and delivered twice in the same hospital of 18 research centers.All participants were enrolled from January 2018 to October 2018,where they delivered the second baby during this period.A total of 6204 women were enrolled in this study,and 1002 women with a history of GDM were analyzed further.All participants enrolled in the study had an oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)result at 24 to 28 weeks and were diagnosed as GDM in the first pregnancy according to the OGTT value(when any one of the following values is met or exceeded to the 75-g OGTT:0 h[fasting],≥5.10 mmol/L;1 h,≥10.00 mmol/L;and 2 h,≥8.50 mmol/L).The prevalence of GDM recurrence and development of type 2 diabetes mellitus were calculated,and its related risk factors were analyzed.Results:In 6204 participants,there are 1002 women(1002/6204,16.15%)with a history of GDM and 5202 women(5202/6204,83.85%)without a history of GDM.There are significant differences in age(32.43±4.03 years vs.33.00±3.34 years vs.32.19±3.37 years,P<0.001),pregnancy interval(4.06±1.44 years vs.3.52±1.43 years vs.3.38±1.35 years,P=0.004),prepregnancy body mass index(BMI)(27.40±4.62 kg/m^(2)vs.23.50±3.52 kg/m^(2)vs.22.55±3.47 kg/m^(2),P<0.001),history of delivered macrosomia(22.7%vs.11.0%vs.6.2%,P<0.001)among the development of diabetes mellitus(DM),recurrence of GDM,and normal women.Moreover,it seems so important in the degree of abnormal glucose metabolism in the first pregnancy to the recurrence of GDM and the development of DM.There are significant differences in OGTT levels of the first pregnancy such as area under the curve of OGTT value(18.31±1.90 mmol/L vs.16.27±1.93 mmol/L vs.15.55±1.92 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT fasting value(5.43±0.48 mmol/L vs.5.16±0.49 mmol/L vs.5.02±0.47 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT 1-hour value(10.93±1.34 mmol/L vs.9.69±1.53 mmol/L vs.9.15±1.58 mmol/L,P<0.001),OGTT 2-hour value(9.30±1.66 mmol/L vs.8.01±1.32 mmol/L vs.7.79±1.38 mmol/L,P<0.001),incidence of impaired fasting glucose(IFG)(fasting plasma glucose≥5.6 mmol/L)(31.3%vs.14.6%vs.8.8%,P<0.001),and incidence of two or more abnormal OGTT values(68.8%vs.39.7%vs.23.9%,P<0.001)among the three groups.Using multivariate analysis,the factors,such as age(1.07[1.02-1.12],P=0.006),prepregnancy BMI(1.07[1.02,1.12],P=0.003),and area under the curve of OGTT in the first pregnancy(1.14[1.02,1.26],P=0.02),have an effect on maternal GDM recurrence;the factors,such as age(1.28[1.01-1.61],P=0.04),pre-pregnancy BMI(1.26[1.04,1.53],P=0.02),and area under the curve of OGTT in the first pregnancy(1.65[1.04,2.62],P=0.03),have an effect on maternal DM developed further.Conclusions:The history of GDM was significantly associated with a higher maternal risk for GDM recurrence during follow-up after the first pregnancy.The associated risk factors for GDM recurrence or development of DM include age,high pre-pregnancy BMI,history of delivered macrosomia,the OGTT level in the first pregnancy,such as the high area under the curve of OGTT,IFG,and two or more abnormal OGTT values.To prevent GDM recurrence,women with a history of GDM should do the preconception counseling before preparing next pregnancy. | Yumei Wei Juan Juan Rina Su Geng Song Xu Chen Ruiqin Shan Ying Li Shihong Cui Shangrong Fan Ling Feng Zishan You Haixia Meng Yan Cai Cuilin Zhang Huixia Yang | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,6: | 7 |
